Starlight

Xerjoff’s Starlight is a fairly straightforward fragrance, but when it comes down to it, it’s more than the individual notes listed. It’s a fragrance that doesn’t change much throughout its life and remains cardamom focused throughout, but as the fragrance dries down, the almond, clove and cinnamon notes also make an appearance, always to accentuate the cardamom, never to replace it. It is also worth noting that the cardamom note is quite photorealistic. It’s got a laconic effect about it but it doesn’t go too far, and it balances the spices quite well with this laconic effect. The balance between the notes is excellent and the fragrance as a whole is very well blended. The fragrance is very comforting and warm, makes one think of a cozy home on a cold winter’s day with hot milk, cookies and the smell of various spices stored away in the kitchen. I can see this being a nostalgic scent for many. It would also make an excellent winter holiday scent. The scent profile itself is very unisex, and has excellent projection but it’s best to avoid wearing this on warmer days or nights. This shines best when the temperature is a tad bit lower than your average day, else one runs the risk of this getting too cloying to the wearer. The I get about 7.5 hours of longevity off of my skin with my bottle bearing the batch number 20122N. The bottle deserves a shoutout as it’s one of the most gorgeous bottles I’ve ever seen. It’s easily my favorite looking bottle in the collection and it perfectly compliments the golden juice inside it. The atomizer is also excellent. I call it ’Fragrance X’ sometimes, like it’s the ultimate fragrance. The bottle looks expensive (which it is) and invokes the feelings of exclusivity and opulence when one reaches for it. It of course comes with the fantastic Xerjoff packaging which is standard for all Xerjoffs at this point. I do wish the fragrance had an option for 100ml, though the. This is certainly a fragrance one should try if they enjoy the note of cardamom in fragrances, but I’d avoid blind buying this as I can see people not enjoying all the spices or the numerous spices in here. I’d give this a solid 8.25/10.

the most realistic cardamom i've ever smelt, brown kids, this is gonna reignite your ELAICHI childhood trauma at full force. its a cardamom BOMBBB as they say, for the first 40 mins ish. Then the almond comes through and rounds it off, it becomes a warm cardamom-scented dough. I dont get chrismassy vibes from this as I associate angel's share type spices to christmassy more- this isnt christmassy this is south asian/indian spices to me. Where ur from will dictate what u think of this i guess, I wouldnt wear this on its own as I personally dont find it very perfumey, its leaning too gourmand to me so I would probs layer it, I see this going well with anything warm spicey so that wont be a problem at all, i think this is an awesome spice bomb to make other scents more interesting. On its own its not very nuanced tho just spiced dough, so highly recommend layering! I like this more when the almond comes in than in its cardamom bomb phase (maybe bc im asian), and it does seem more like a perfume in the almondey stage, but its like a soft warm spice. Its not loud, its just a lightly spiced, warm comforting enveloping bubble - this would be a little underwhelming for me to wear out, so i would layer - but its perfect in cozy/intimate evening settings so the only time i would wear on its own is indoor functions/gatherings where i dont need pungent projection. It does have great longevity and I love the whole experience and how it transforms, definitely a fun scent to smell on urself update: growing to love this on its own, its simple once the top note fades yet somehow still addictive and lush

After having a decant of this last fall and dreaming about it every day since then, I was finally able to purchase this STUNNING perfume. First of all, the packaging itself makes it worth the money! This is the type of box you DO NOT throw away, very luxurious. And don’t even get me started on the bottle!! So gorgeous! Now on to the juice. I love just about anything with a cardamom note but THIS takes the cake for me as far as cardamom goes. Literally went to my kitchen to grab my ground cardamom for comparison. Starlight is a slightly sweeter take on cardamom without being synthetic. The other notes complement and enhance the cardamom note so well, but the cardamom remains the star of the show. The bergamot adds sweetness and freshness, the cinnamon and clove intensify the aromatic aspect, and the almond, amber, and cedar round out the scent making the spices more smooth and grounded. And the performance is amazing! I get at least 8 hours of wear, I smelled it on myself for my whole work shift! The sillage is moderate, not nuclear like I’m used to but I also did not overspray this one like I normally would because to me, with this one less is more. It’s such a beautiful, captivating scent that I want only the people who get close to me to experience it 😏. Don’t get me wrong, it projects nicely but it’s not beast mode. This is truly a masterpiece cardamom scent! 10/10

This starts beautifully with a blast of cardamon which seem to last the entire life of it. It blends with a bit of citrus-y bergamot in the start which combined feels distinctly fall and winter. Eventually the bergamot freshness fades into some background cinnamon - I was hoping the cinnamon would be more prominent initially but this one is already so fall-spicy that I wasn't too upset that it was mild. I had some difficulty getting almond on my skin, but I have a feeling it was blended in with the cardamon and just difficult for me to separate. The drydown was a bit ambery, but again cardamon was so dominate it was had to pick up much. I was hoping for something that might work in the spring and summer, but as others said there's something distinctly christmas-y about it. The cardamon reminds me of chai and fall as well and I think it would be nice during the colder seasons, but would feel awkward in the middle of summer or even early spring to me. It felt fairly unisex to me - I'd love to smell it on a man, and felt extremely versatile (seasons aside). So long as you love spices and cardamon you'll probably like this one. And if you're looking for a more feminine take on these notes it also fits the bill unlike a few other spicy cardamon scents I've tried which a bit too masculine for me to regularly wear.

Spice-love!! What an amazing creation!! Xerjoff has so many amazing offers but this is to me easily top 5! The funny story is that i had this fragrance, i sold it because i thought i didn't want it and a week later i bought it again.. Spicy, ambery, rich but playful at the same time. It's sweet but not sickly sweet. To me this is the niche version of something like Spicebomb Extreme, they are not the same but they share the same idea, to blend fresh and warm spices with vanilla (both) and amber (only starlight). The cardamon here is to die for, fresh, spicy, green and a little behind the cinnamon with a touch of cloves. The amber/vanilla here are creamy, powdery and have some depth and smokeyness. Performance is really good, 8-10 hours longevity with good projection. It quite versatile in my opinion because of the fresh spicies. I would wear it everyday as an elegant casual scent or evening as a romantic inviting scent. It will be cloying on summer days but very nice on a summer night out! Overall, this i a beautiful scent! I really enjoy it and it will never be out of my collection again. If you like fragrances like Spicebomb Exreme or The One Royal Night and you want something on the next level, with great quality this is a must try!!

Cardamom is king here. Realistic and strong. I'm obsessed with the scent, but I'm obsessed with cardamom. It's warm and spice, borderline gourmand, but cardamom x2. I love this stuff on its own, but to make an obvious suggestion, try layering it or going side by side with La Nuit de L'Homme or Bleu Electrique to boost the cardamom up a bit, which I prefer. I always felt like La Nuit was too much like liquid baby powder without enough cardamom kick to get its point across. Now that I have 4 bottles of Starlight, I don't really have that problem anymore, do I? :^) and yes it's super pricey, so if you fear buyers remorse, best to sample first. I look at it as a pretty safe blind buy if you like warm spice scents and cardamom especially. It is one that everyone should at least try to sample, because it is something special, and it really is probably the best straight up cardamom scent out there. It smells expensive and it has something distinctly xirjoff about the way it smells. If you like that house, I doubt you will dislike this stuff.

I intentionally wore this all day for Christmas. Hugging me like a warm embrace during this cold night. It is mainly a powdery warm spices fragrance focusing on green cardamom, dusty cinnamon and clove. It opens with warm green cardamom (slightly bitter) wrapped in dusty cinnamon and clove. The green bitterness of cardamom tones down and gives way to a more powdery sweet spices. Love that it is not creamy sweet, and more like a powdery sweet. It smells festive. And it fits perfectly for this holiday night. It lasts on skin all days and projects nicely around me. It doesn’t have to be a holiday scent. But the warm spiciness here is so realistic and special that it could feel overwhelming/extra for a daily driver. However, for date night, party, night out, and festive celebrations, it suits perfectly because of its warmly optimistic energy. Smelly familiar like a cup of chai tea with a few extra bulbs of cardamom. Wishfully familiar like a sparkling brightness and dewy warm of a starlight.

I was instantly blown away the moment I tried it. It’s truly very original — warm, slightly sweet; for the first one or two hours it has a gourmand vibe, then it turns into a wonderful amber fragrance. Without a doubt, it’s made with very high-quality ingredients and beautifully composed. I think it sits perfectly on the unisex line. I generally prefer more masculine scents, but although this one feels unisex, it doesn’t come across as too feminine for me to wear. The performance is solid — with good longevity and a pleasant, noticeable presence around you, but it’s not the kind that fills an entire room. I actually think that’s always better. I’ll be adding it to my collection immediately. I tried MFK Grand Soir for a long time, and unlike many people, I could never really love it. In my opinion, I’ve discovered a fragrance in that category that is far, far better.

Man... Absolute 10 out of 10 fragrance. The parfum concentration is an added bonus. I got a decant a while back that I was rocking with and I really liked it, but when I actually bought a full bottle I could really tell just how beautifully blended this fragrance is. The cardamom is the star. It's a perfect cardamom note that is expertly done. The bergamot just sits right behind it giving it levity and a just enough freshness that it is totally rockable in the spring. The almond really comes through underneath giving it a warm heart, but not overly nutty. I hate almond notes, but this one I have no problem with. the cinnamon and the clove are right there giving it that beautiful holiday vibe. The most amazing part is the amber that gives it the glue. For me, I pick this up in the air, which makes it absolutely perfect. One of my favorites in my collection.

I won’t repeat what everyone else has already said. Yes, there’s tons of cardamom, spice, etc. It’s all out there! What I DO want to add is this, though: Starlight’s drydown is where it reveals its true niche nature. The way it settles into skin: it doesn’t go edible. Instead, you get heat, sap, ambered stickiness, and spice memory. That “skin-spiced” effect, where you don’t smell like you’re wearing fragrance...You smell like you’ve been steeped in it. And that, to me, is the most stellar part of Starlight. Starlight doesn’t wear off, it settles into your legend. Like the faint rays we see from a distant star: you still feel the burn that made it. The light is soft now, but it came from giant fire. And that's how others will remember you wearing Starlight... Starlight will light the wick of your soul and then step back to watch you glow... 😍

I've been on a small hunt for a cardamom-centric fragrance that resonates with me. I believe my search is over. Only a handful of other perfumes touched me the way Starlight does upon first spray, initial sniff. Xerjoff Starlight. Starlight is perfection. Starlight is an impeccable cardamom fragrance that opens with a brief citrus burst. The vibrant citrus opening immediately meets the smoothest, creamiest, richest cardamom accord I've ever smelled in perfume. The almond provides a slightly sweet touch. The cinnamon and clove add some kick. The cedar and amber provide the perfect backbone for the heart of this perfume, the spicy cardamom. Performance is stellar. I have no words. And I notice many of the reviews here are from men. As an older woman, I ADORE this perfume! Complete love. Stardust is gorgeous.

Oh this makes me feel a pang for Cartier's Le Baiser du Dragon. It's so warm and comforting, like Benedictine liqueur, Amaretto, nutty, boozy, tingling with spices. I wish I'd had the sense to buy a full bottle of the Cartier back then when 50 ml would have been cheap, now it's discontinued and it's about £180 for 50m. Starlight is much the same price, and more widely available. Which do I prefer? Cartier, definitely, because the dry down was the most comforting scent for Autumn you can imagine. Made me feel I was snuggled up in cosy blankets next to a fire. Starlight is drying down to a nice woody amber that smells pretty much like their Bouquet Ideale. Nice, but lacking in complexity on drydown because it's relying too heavily on a synthetic.

I saw this described somewhere as a ‘Celestial Gourmand’ and I think that’s just about perfect. This isn’t as edible as my usual gourmands, but ‘Celestial’ is spot on. I picture a goddess in a ceremonial bath. Her bath house built around a natural hot spring, inside the walls are golden. The fresh, bright, musky citrus and green, woody almond of the opening float around like steam, gradually, a honeyed amber and slightly smoldering spices burn the opening off and warm the almond into the dry down like sun through morning fog. This fragrance smells like good luck to me. Tranquil, refined, comforting. A fire ritual, burning away a delicate green shell in the name of rebirth. Strong projection and longevity. ☀️🌫️🍯🌁✨🌾🫚

Starlight highlights one of my favorite spices cardamon as the most dominant note during the first portion of the scent development. The fragrance has two distinct stages throughout the wearing on my skin, the first one is a sweet vanilla wrapped in cardamon and just a hint of cloves and cinnamon that further harmonies the aromatic quality of the blend, incredibly attractive, truly exotic, somewhat reminiscent to a chai latte. The second portion of the scent evolution is all about powdery vanilla and amber with a nutty contrast from the almond which also displays a certain creaminess, the star of the season “Starlight” makes me feel like I’m wearing my feelings and emotions on the skin.

I have owned over 20 bottles of Xerjoff, I will make a very bold statement; this fragrance tops *all* of my Xerjoff's. I thought Tony Iommi and Renaissance held the top spots, but nope, no, no, no. This fragrance is 100% top spot. My only gripe is the price tag, not because it's not worth it, far from it, it definitely is worth the tag. The problem resides in the fact that it's so likeable, versatile, any time, any place, any gender, *and* can be a dumb reach as well as a special occasion fragrance. Blind buy worth, FB worthy, I can't commend it enough, I wish I could afford to have a backup bottle, in fact I might sell a Creed or 2 and buy a backup bottle! Enjoy, and God bless....

I'll save you some time 10/10. This was a blind buy and I am so glad I took the risk. This fragrance is truly magical. I actually just picked up a backup bottle as I've already burned through ~5-10% of my bottle in the month I've owned it. Smells like warm fresh spices. Cardamom, cinnamon and almond are the main three I pick up off my skin, but it's light, airy, effervescent, not too heavy which IMO opens it up to being worn daytime, on cooler spring days/nights, and even cool summer evenings. Probably best suited for special occasions like dates and around the holidays, but IDGAF and will wear this to school, work, and just going out and about.

A Love at First Sniff. This fragrance was an instant love for me. My perfect spicy, warming winter scent. If you're a fan of cardamom, especially fresh rather than dried, you'll likely appreciate this as much as I do. It strikes a beautiful balance... soft and creamy, just sweet enough, without losing its strength and character. While it’s a perfect scent for Christmas events, I find myself reaching for it most often when I’m curled up on the couch after a long, cold day. There's something incredibly comforting about it. I ordered a full bottle within half an hour of sampling my decant. It became my very first full bottle purchase from Xerjoff!

This is a gorgeous, gorgeous scent. I first tested it about two and a half years ago.I was absolutely wowed by it. But unfortunately I couldn’t afford it at that time. I recently retested it at Harrods and was still amazed by it. I had to buy it at the spot. The cardamom is done so well here, no sharpness at all. The notes are very well blended and the whole blend smells ultra smooth. I have a hard time describing it. It’s just a beautiful cardamom ambery scent with some sweetness. I’m pretty sure there are some unlisted sweet notes, maybe vanilla and/or some resins. Anyway, it is a top notch oriental scent. It lasts and projects moderately.

This is one of those perfumes that got a loud vocal "Whoa!" out of me when I first smelled it (and immediately purchased after 20 minutes of sniffing around in the store). The cardamom is definitely the main player here, you really have to look for the other notes, but as cedar and cloves are not my preferred notes anyway that might be a positive. It doesn't feel like a cardamom bun or anything else edible, more like a freshly ground spice in a mortar and pestle made out of aromatic wood. It the right amount of sweetness and woodiness to create a perfectly rich, spicy and unisex appeal.

It's my favourite fragrance from the brand. It opens with bright, vibrant bergamot and a pinch of cardamom. Straight after that, cinnamon and clove emerge, blended with almond, giving the fragrance a touch of spice and creaminess. The spices don't give off a gourmand, bakery vibe, instead, they add depth and sensuality. In the base, there's warm amber with a woody nuance from cedar. Longevity on my skin is around six hours, with moderate projection. This is a unisex fragrance, so anyone who likes a little spice in their perfumes should definitely give this one a go.
