Iris Glacé

I finally found THE IRIS to rule ALL IRIS!! 🎺 Iris Glacé is one of those fragrances that feels both dressed-up and quite edible at the same time. The listed notes may scream chocolate-truffle fantasy and nutty gourmand, but on my skin the true notes are the iris and orris butter. Smooth, silken, and beautifully powdery from start to finish. (Not grandma-ish) The bourbon vanilla and sugar run strong through every stage, never fading, never wearing out. The standout twist is the crème brûlée accord. It came as a surprise! I know it is not listed, but it’s there!!! Imagine a caramelized-shell moment created by the sugar, myrrh, and benzoin getting melted together. It smells like that exact second when the torch hits the top of the crème brûlée: warm, smoky, toasted, comforting. That little charred-marshmallow nuance makes the whole fragrance feel delicious without becoming a heavy true gourmand. As it dries down, the violet–orris–suede, a soft powdery nuance mixed with the crème brûlée accord is all that is left for hours upon hours. This thing is a beast and it surprised me so much because I avoid iris like the plague since most are underwhelming or over-done. And yes, Andhika Pratikto is my friend and a new perfumer in fragcom but this beautiful fragrance stands on its own. If you love iris, smoky-sweet desserts, or perfumes that smell like cashmere and candlelight, give it a try. I’m so curious of your opinion!!!

Excited to have Xyrcle’s latest release in my collection. IRIS GLACÉ is without exactly how it is described... A decadent noir dessert. Andhika Pratikto truly did his thing with this one and knocked it out of the park. My fav from the 2 offerings 💯 This beauty opens with a burst of rich dark chocolate that quickly transforms into a creamy & nutty gourmand reminiscent of a evening out at your fav upscale dessert only place.. The iris and orris butter are front & center adding smoothness and allure. The base notes provide a warm foundation that lingers, making it suitable for both day and evening wear. IRIS GLACÉ embodies elegance and for me it would favored date nights! If you enjoy classy gourmands that are not overly sweet, but rather smooth and perfectly well balanced, this is for you!!! I’m seriously impressed with Andhika’s new creation, Iris Glacé. Someone below said this smells like it should be in a Guerlain bottle and I’d have to agree. This smells like it could be a limited edition bee bottle, no joke. The opening is in the same vein as Vanilla Diorama, but it goes in a direction of its own as it dries down. I love the dance between the iris, nutty accords, and cacao/chocolate accords; it creates a sophisticated powdery aroma. Every note co-exists in perfect harmony and there’s this slight dusting of sugar that makes it feel so comforting. It reminds me of candy coated almonds you’d get at an Italian wedding + a dusting of cacao + aromatics to tie it all together. Great work!

So I waited until I was in a good mood headspace to try the new fragrance. Sometimes if I try something when I'm busy or in a bad mood it could be the best fragrance in the world and I don't experience it the way I would if my mood was different. At least for the first time smelling it. Iris Glacé is absolutely phenomenal! It feels like it should be in a Guerlain bottle. Seriously, its amazing. There are so many Iris fragrances out there that all kind of smell the same and this is different. So very well refined! Putting unique DNA out into the fragrance world is such an important thing in my mind because Ive just smelled so many things and I hate redundancy so I'm truly loving this!

I bought it (two bottles) and I love it. I agree with everything the four other reviewers wrote. It's a beauty. I'd already purchased *Black Gold* (my review is posted there) and I love it. I was a bit hesitant *Iris Glace'" might be too sweet (it isn't) or it'd have too much chocolate (it doesn't). It's balanced perfectly. It doesn't smell like anything I own. I enjoy layering so I'll be playing with ouds....a rose....a coffee....vanillas.....not that it needs anything....just because it's what I like doing. Congratulations Mr. Pratikto ....you're two for two. I'm looking forward to your No. 3.

Beautiful fragrance. In the same vein of Dior Vanilla Diorama; this one, however, feels so airy and light in spite of having so many gourmand-like notes. It's wonderfully balanced. Imagine indulging in an amaretto liqueur (aperitif/digestif) and some chocolate-covered almonds, some hazelnut-spread and some cinnamon crisps. The suede note is also wonderful; it does not lean in the direction of Dior Homme, as I had possibly anticipated. I'm very much enjoying this release, and I'll be having this in my winter rotation.

Iris Glacé Is around great fragrance from Xyrcle. I’m not a huge fan of iris or gourmands, but somehow this one works for me. Powdery iris, cacao, and vanilla mixes so well with the vetiver, patchouli, cedar, and cardamom. Very elegant mixture that is completely unisex. Another one that can be worn year around.

Goes on smooth chocolate, a bit in the cocoa powder range, with orris and a raw silk note I adore. Dry down is pretty fast and it gets very very light and sheer, but it’s still pleasant. I don’t get most of the notes. The spices, florals, patchouli, nuts, are all missing. It’s mostly orris butter in it’s powdery form, a hint of powdered chocolate, and the edge of green iris. I won’t need more, but I do like it. Tried to wash it off to try another scent and it won’t budge, so great sticking power and even atfer five or six washes, two with dish soap, I’m getting a orris hand lotion scent now. Pretty nice in all it’s stages anyway if you like a powdery iris.
