Laughter

The notes for Laughter are: Rose, Jasmine, Ylang-ylang, Patchouli, Spices, Cedarwood. One of those 70's drugstore classics that define the era and were often as good as ( or even better ! ) than the premium brands ( certainly of those today ! ) A floral chypre ( no idea where the "fruity" notes are ? ) , powdery, too, in a similar vein to Rive Gauche, Fidji or L'Air du temps.but with an unusual spicy ( gingery ? ) twist. Rose, & jasmine along with the spice note are evident immediately. It gradually softens as the sandalwood comes through, though the ginger note remains throughout. I've just smelled this for the first time in around 30 years and it's as distinctive and as wearable now as it was then. ( Review is for the original in the frosted glass bottle with gold lettering and lid in vory texted packaging. I've never seen the one shown above and assume it's more recent ? )

I did not knew that this was launch so long ago...almost 4 decades ago and it is still available in most pharmacies in my country, dirt cheap and very popular entry level fragrance with teens. I am a little clueless at identifying individual notes but it is floral yet fresh and a little spicy. I like it that it is breezy and not overwhelming like most florals of the by-gone eras can be. Silage is soft but present and the longevity is about 4-5 hours but being that it is very cheap and I always carry a bottle around with me and reapply for lunch.

I used to love this, but it's no longer available where I live. I often feel nostalgic for it.

ich habe richtig Sehnsucht nach dem guten Parfum von Yardley mit Namen "LAUGHTER". Es war der beste Parfum den ich je hatte! Hatte ihn mir von England mitgebracht, es gab ihn aber auch danach noch in Belgien zu kaufen, wäre schön, wenn man den nochmal bekäme l. Grüße Marita Fux

My aunt gifted me this perfume in the 90's....absolutely divine!....it's feminine, light floral .....I loved the way it sat on my skin......I still have the 20 year old bottle....it's that good

Not the same recipe as the Laughter launched back then. The original Laughter was simply amazing. This one is a far cry of the winning recipe and it's a pity that they changed this.
