Yardley Gentleman Elite

Wow! This is great. I just bought it to take my purchase of Floris Santal at AllBeauty over £66 to get a 10% discount. First impressions. I’m more impressed with this than the Floris and this was around just £16! The bottle label is crudely stuck on, off centre, but the rest of the packaging including the bottle is great. The fragrance is very good. It reminds me of visiting Abercrombie and Fitch in London years ago, when they were pumping Fierce into the air. This is a spicy fresh citrusy generic offering and a departure from my usual purchases, but I really like it. A clean, fresh, mass appealing and no nonsense scent suitable for the gym, work, the daytime. I love it!

What a lovely men’s fragrance. My new signature fragrance a real beautiful fragrance. Price is incredible. Long lasting. Sexy and Manly. But not old man smelling. At first I thought it was weak and boring but when I went back to it I really captured that soft blend of lemon, grapefruit and pine moving into the woody notes. It’s classy and clean. Not a fan of the others in the Yardley gentleman range but this one is a real beauty.

My signature scent, wore it all around italy and it is my most complimented fragrance strangely enough. Kind of annoying since its also one of my cheapest lol but idk what these other reviews are talking about. It is not powdery at all, it is a super masculine clean mature scent. KIND OF similar to Drakkar Noir without that barbershop undertone. Can also wear it for practically any occasion, from work to a wedding.

I've had this for a couple of years now, a gift from a family member. Bags of grapefruit from the get go, a big mid-hit of almost minty green, and an underlying hum of woody deepness. I spray this liberally, to get some longevity and silage, and it pays off (so that I get to enjoy this without seeking it out), while being very inoffensive at the same time (so it doesn't knock everyone out around and about).

Yardley Gentleman Elite is a classic manly animalic scent, presented in contemporary taste. The idea is brilliant, this frag serves as a bridge between two worlds, the 80s green-animalic powerhouses and today's perfumery. The perfume pyramid follows the 80s recipe, citrus top-green mid-animalic base, but some notes are substituted to make it modern. Starts fruity and synthetic, the grapefruit gives the scent a sticky cheapish texture, the vetiver is intensive allready, these two form a cheap Terre d'Hermes. You have to survive this beginning phase, just like in the case of some classics. Then comes the green phase, when grapefruit fades, and pine becomes the main player along with vetiver, delivered on a strong animalic base. In case of the classics, the animalic base is usually leather or civet, backed up with oakmoss. In this case, it is amroxan in my opinion, the perfume pyramid claims it's amber tough. Synthetic, and harsh, but not unpleasant at all. Reminds me of Jaguar classic and Dior Souvage the same time. From this point, the scent is very linear, and fades till entirely gone. The overall quality is not very high, but it is still good value from such a cheap fragrance. Approx. Zara quality with average performance. This frag is not a masterpiece at all, it's quality is a burden. The honor is in the idea of the scent structure. The genius of the scent structure is that it allows us to live our affection to 80s classics, while being totally acceptable for today's audience. It doesn't mean it is a mass pleaser, certainly not. This frag is for individualists with a strong character. It radiates the manliness and charisma of the classic green-animalics, without grandpa, dated or even mature vibes. Easy to wear alternative with a compromise.

Yardley Gentleman Elite... ...is a very nice allrounder. I do not understand the comparison to Bleu de Chanel but i have noticed that almost every male fragrance under the sun is getting compared to BDC and is ending up in the "this perfume reminds me of" section. It opens a bit harsh but settles to a nice citric, green and woody ambery fragrance softened by a touch of musk. It is an EdP and has indeed good sillage and longeivity. A British Bogart scent which means good quality for a very reasonable price.

Very good fragrance. Smells like a pine forest. Super masculine and fresh. Long lasting and projects very well. I bought this by mistake, as I was looking for Yardley Gentleman Legacy (which I don't know why isn't on this website's database) but I bought this one instead and definitely don't regret. Scent 6.5/10 Longevity 7/10 Projection 7/10 Price proposition 9/10 Total 7.35/10

I am surprised at the notes as it smells like calone/marine to me. I think this is a respectable dupe for Davidoff Cool Water but with added woody depth. It sits close to the skin and doesn't last very long but a very nice and polished fragrance that I am sure many will be complimented on despite its small price point.

Smells amazing, it smells classy, but at the same time also a cheapie! Love it! The Sillage is close to skin, not offending at all, but the staying power is respectable for a cheap perfume like this.

These Yardley fragrances must vary drastically between batches because the 2022 one I purchased smells nothing of "pine forests" or regal British opulence as others have stated. What I got was a nondescript men's scent with similarities to multiple 90s cliches but less appealing. Unless they filled the bottle with the wrong fragrance this smells nothing like the notes listed here or on the box. Is it bad? Not really, but it's not great either. It has a scent akin to something they'd use in a store or restroom as an air freshener, as if you just walked into a Marshall's or GAP at a mall. It's a nasal irritant too which is most likely because it's a $15 fragrance and probably not much different than a body spray in composition. It even has that penetrating AXE type vibe to it. Good for a teen maybe but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone older unless you want something cheap for the hell of it. The quality of the bottle is poor as well. The cap doesn't even stay on it's so comically loose and ill fitting, it also came primed and sprayed with the first push. You could already smell it opening the box. The atomizer is awful and puts out tiny spurts of fragrance. It takes about four sprays to equal a single regular spray from other brands. It was sealed and purchased from a large reputable online store so they must come that way for whatever reason Yardley sees fit. I'm willing to try two other Yardley fragrances that are rated as being better so we'll see how those turn out but I'm not holding out for a miracle after seeing Eite.

I saw it available at a near retailer for 8$ only & before I tried the body spray & thought it was nice so, I decided to buy the EDP & if it went totally wrong I will use it as a freshener for the air. The scent is ok & suitable for summer day, however, it is very weak in terms of longevity & projection. I even feel that the body spray is stronger than this EDP. It lasted no more than 1/2 hours & even during the first two hours it was hardly detectable. I will use it when I feel like I need a very light scent & I will not buy another bottle even for 8$. Edit: I applied on my skin before I wear my undershirt & before spraying I layered a small layer of Vaseline on my neck, chest & shoulders. The result was very satisfying & it lasted me few hours & was noticeable for me & others. The security guy in the building had to stop me & ask what I was wearing. For the price, it is a steal & I will but another 2 bottles just in case.

This is #37 in my tour of 250 fragrances, and another miss. There's nothing "Elite" about this familiar, dated and very weak scent. If you're elderly, (and I can't imagine this as a go-to scent for someone who isn't) and have that sour old man smell going on, this won't cover that up. A teeny leathery and musky and that's about all we have going on here. Barely a skin scent even with heavy application. Maybe just sprayed on your clothes it would make more of an impression. Nothing offensive here, but even at $17 I wouldn't buy it again.

The English country-gentleman galloping after a fox — the unspeakable in full pursuit of the uneatable. Thats what it reminds me of, at least for me, very nice, mature scent, could last a tad longer,, but overall well worth the money.

The grapefruit in the opening is super good, but this has terrible longevity 🙁 If you pluck the atomizer off and put wood sticks in this might be a great scent for the house
