Yardley Gentleman Suave

This is an underrated fragrance. I get compliments pretty often wearing it, both men and women. The notes are quite simple but I think that's to its credit when it comes to other people liking it. Bought this from The Fragrance Shop around 5 years ago when I was starting university, had little money, and had no idea what fragrances I'd like, so I bought this and Versace L'Homme. It works great as a daily wearer as it's simple, lasts well, and projects decently at a very fair price. Would I recommend it over some of the best reviewed cheapie fragrances? Probably not, but that's only because I know better now!

Yardley Gentlemen Suave... ...is like the Urban version the weakest fragrance out of the Gentlemen line with "Legacy" (not listed in Fragrantica) and "Classic" being the strongest performer and followed by "Elite" slightly weaker. Suave is not an aquatic freshy despite the blue colour but it is a citric/herbal musky summer scent which i find similar but not identical to John Varvatos Artisan Blue. It does not have a strong sillage but it lasts reasonably long for the scent it is. Nice summer scent for a sunset or sunrise at the beach.

Yardley Gentleman Suave is an amazing, well blended, timeless, and classic scent, but unfortunately, the longevity and projection are almost non-existent, I really enjoy wearing it and I wish it lasted, it would have been way up on my summer list if the performance was better.

I bet this is going to be my go-to summer scent. Light, fresh, not too strong or aromatic. Very much elegant, civilized, not too protruding and gives this cheerful summer mood.

Really good everyday type scent. Also within budget for almost everyone. Though the projection is a bit low, still a good one considering the budget

I rated this at the time, but neglected to write a review. This was #7 in my "Tour de Fragrance", and the only scent among the Yardley Gentleman line that I actually disliked. As with all the Yardley's, it's a classic masculine scent. It was the only scent in the line that was only EDT in potency, so not a great performer. Rose fragrances evoke memories of my days volunteering at the Methodist Old Folks Home, where all the women wore Avon "To a Wild Rose" because the Avon rep visited them at the home and delivered their orders and chatted with them for hours. The entire facility reeked of Avon rose fragrance and it's etched forever in my brain, along with the sadness of seeing so many lovely, even extraordinary men and women, well-cared for, housed very comfortably in a beautiful facility, often with no family in the area to visit them, desperate for someone, anyone, under the age of 80 to talk to. If you ever want to do something to show your humanity, volunteer at a care facility. It's an angelic thing to do.
