I'm Not Going to Disturb You Femme

I have no idea why it took me so long to write a review on this. This has been one of my favorites for about 5 years now, and I'm so thankful that you can still find it in stock in some places. Yes, it's a pretty straightforward sweet tobacco scent. However, I would argue that it's absolutely not flat or cheap smelling. It is versatile, so you can wear it for pretty much any occasion, as long as it's your cup of tea in general. The way I'd describe it is mature, modern and artsy. Warm and soft with a touch of sweetness due to the vanilla and musk base, but absolutely not candy-like or gourmand in any way. Tobacco leaf and osmanthus are the stars of this show, and they form a very high-quality blend. Absolutely nothing in this fragrance that stands out too much, or smells off, too sharp or too sweet. Very balanced. And that's why I absolutely love it. I guess this is my standard for an everyday fragrance, pleasant yet unique. If you love versatile fragrances with a darker vibe and a vanilla/musk base, but not too heavy or gourmand - this is for you.

A great frag for work. It’s true to its name, unobtrusive and very pleasant. I do I wish I got more of the medicinal, grassy notes on my skin. Highly recommended.

I absolutely adore a scent that immediately evokes a sense memory. For me, on first sniff: I'm transported back to Toronto, a trip I took with friends in my early twenties. We are performers, doing a show, staying in a crap hotel, having a beautiful and hilarious time in the city. We stop into a grocery store. In the bulk bins: A Canadian delicacy. Salted licorice. I am gobsmacked - salty licorice? Who knew? My friend dares me to try a piece. I open the bulk bin and this is the smell that hits me. I didn't much care for the salted licorice; it tasted like I thought it would, which is to say: salty. But we laughed as we walked around the store arm in arm with the salty tangy candy dissolving in our mouths. I don't mean to say that this fragrance smells of regular licorice necessarily. I've smelled a lot of licorice before, and this salty Toronto bulk bin is the only smell it reminds me of. It's not the smell of a black jellybean or a Lempicka-like anise scent. It's a bit dusty and musky, and warmly sweet, and spicy, and salty, like the powdery outside of the salted candy. I mainly bought this for the killer bottle, because the notes sounded interesting, and because I got a great deal. It's an interesting fragrance that deserves to be sniffed. I thought about swapping this one away because I can't see myself wearing it a lot but every time I spray it on I feel great affection for it. Sigh.

I actually had never heard of this, but I love osmanthus and the price was very reasonable so I blind bought it. I’m mildly disappointed, because *all* I get is a whiff of pure pipe tobacco, which does not project whatsoever or evolve at all, and vanishes entirely within about 20 minutes. That’s it! I guess it won’t disturb anyone, but that’s all I can say in its favor.

A plush, dusty vanilla with a vibe similar to Amouage Sunshine. Not a dupe at all. Just a similar feel to me.
