Y-3 Black Label

Just received my bottle today. Haven’t had a chance to wear it so I can’t comment on performance yet but as far as scent and uniqueness, it’s awesome! I do get the LNDL vibe as others below me have mentioned. It doesn’t smell like it at all and is not as sexy/alluring as La Nuit but It does have a similar feel. It’s more casual but can be worn anytime. This scent is clean and fresh with some warmth from the cardamom and a slight creaminess from the Tonka and elemi. I do get a touch of cedar giving it a freshness combined with the lavender. I don’t get the patchouli/pepper/Vetiver. If so extremely feint. The marigold of course is the star player here. The scent reminds me of walking into one of those massive churches in Washington DC or New York. I don’t mean the old musty man/woman/church smell, no no no...I mean that fresh reassuring smell that makes you actually want to be there. The marigold note gives off a sweet but pleasant citrus/honey type of smell that is really unique. It will remind you of spring time in the fields, clothes freshly washed on the clothesline while the warm sun is drying them down. Another image I get is of myself walking in the middle of London during the fall time. It’s just a very pleasant smell kind of out of the shower but with a nice warmth. Yea I suck at describing smells but I love it. I think a man of any age can wear this. It’s got a youthful, playful vibe to it but also kind of mature in a way. And once again no one will smell like you. It’s greeat!

#picknenders and #Pinnacos - you guys are spot on. Yohji Yamamoto Y-3 Black Label is a very nice YSL La Nuit De L'Homme 'type' of scent - but definitely NOT a clone. I like the presentation box (nice touch) and the bottle is quirky cool too...oh and really good and heavy as well. :o) Although, I don't know what "Tagetes" actually smell like on their own I do get a rich earthy/honey sweetness (Tagetes & Ginger?) plus a spicy, leathery, green accord (Lavender, Cardamom, Elemi and Pepper?) which all together smells fantastic. It might not appeal to all and you can over spray it (like I did this morning - :o/) but imo this is more than a worthy alternative to the legendary YSL La Nuit De L'Homme that can be worn in all but hot weather. I'm really glad I picked this up.

Love it. I can see the resemblance to la nuit - but this is spicier and has a noticeable ginger note in the opening. Overall it is unique enough to own both and the bottle/overall feel and design exudes quality. This house has some surprisingly good smells and lacks the fanfare of others. If you want something that will be pleasing to most, but worn by few, here you go. 7/10

smells like a weaker version of MDCI however same scent, bottle design is a ripoff of the gucci envy bottle and the box that it comes in is very useless and flimsy it doesn't want to sit snug inside the box. costs between 80 to 100 for a 75ml.

8/10 anywhere anytime safe fragrance. opening reminds me of Hermes Terre' d hermes dry down leans more towards chypre palatin
