The oudh and leather notes here are excellent. The oudh isn't the choking synthetic version that's in everything right now, thank God! It's balanced beautifully and isn't slapping you in the face with it's presence. Very gentle and blends into the woods in such a natural way that you truly feel like you're deep in the forests for a moment. There's a bit of an aquatic sweetness in the opening that doesn't feel synthetic, even in the slightest, and that keeps it both unique, and wearable during the summer months. I really like this a lot and it would be extremely sexy on a man because it smells rugged and outdoorsy without trying too hard. It has an effortless masculine feel to it. (Unfortunately on me, the smoky facet of the vetiver becomes too noticeable and I smell like I've spent all night at a bonfire. It's not that I don't like that smell. I do! It's a great smell. It's just not my style, as a woman who prefers soft, often slightly orris powder toned, natural scents.) Bottom line: if you're a man looking for a masculine cologne that smells very natural and approachable, while retaining some sex appeal, look no further. This is probably your Holy Grail. One of the best masculine scents I've smelled in decades. Won't choke your neighbors either, which is always a plus!

This is a personal and crowd pleaser for anyone that I have come across while wearing this beautiful elixir. You definitely get the apple and dry woods with the sage in the beginning and its seems a bit dusty as well in a Creed Royal Oud Vibe. The cypress and vetiver combo with a smoke is just breathtaking! My skin is moderately oily and I get easily 7 to 9 hours from it with moderate sillage (I wear things for me anyway so sillage isn't too important for me). Sombre Negra to me is a Grail scent and this is a perfect second offering from Yosh. Cant wait until she comes out with the THIRD!

Very smoky and herbal in the beginning. The leather/wood/cypress combination is very dominant, and it reminds me a bit of Yosh's Sombre Negra...the difference is in the fruitiness that this one has, thanks to the apple and sage. The papyrus gives it a vibrant crispness, and the other notes complement to make a very interesting, unusual composition. It's very dark, but with a lush sort of accord that I think is brilliant. Yosh is a creative genius, and it's one of her best yet!

excellent vetiver fragrance to test out. such a well blended fragrance and to me leans to the masculine side. I have gotten a lot of compliments on a couple of wearings. One of those I would buy and may. Worth checking out, especially if you love vetiver based scents like I do, Konig gives me a crisp red apple opening with a vetiver chaser. Very well done. two thumbs up.

Excellent Aventish leaning scent with fresh vetiver sparkles.

Opens like a green apple flavored bandage, in an interestingly pleasant way. 5 minutes in the bandage facet comes into focus and reveals itself as leather. There is a noticeable smoky papyrus note, as well as a very slight vetiver note that adds a rough, dry woody undertone. The apple here is a bit too prominent for my nose. It kind of cheapens out the other notes and leaves the drydown feeling very middle-of-the-road designer smelling. I guess its a good accessible way to test the niche waters but theres nothing new or exciting going on here to my nose. 5.5/10

A lot of woodsmoke in the opening, then sweet apple, dry woods, and herbals. Very dry, fall scent, reminds me of burning leaves. Lasts well.

Smoky vetiver and sage with a touch of sweetnes.

It has an alcoholic opening, fruity, strong red apple (apparently in 2013 it was a heart note, in the new one you can clearly feel it in the opening) and wood, it's a kind of a difficult mix at the beginning, but the papyrus enters and gives a dry touch and together with the initial green notes they create something that is interesting, although in the notes of the fraiche version don't have leather listed, it has the note, it has a dirty jacket type leather, something like the La Yuqawam one, until here everything ok, it could evolve towards something good, but it is as if in a race you start with full throttle and before reaching the last gear you run out of gas. It lacks performance, it doesn't project at any time, and that green-leather game goes to the skin immediately, there it remains alive for another hour until it begins to unravel, leaving a dark vetiver that rests almost alone for a little longer, It's a shame because there was something being created but the balloon exploded before tying the knot. This is an acrid indie-niche abomination. A friend of mine has been price-dropping his full bottle for a year on a Facebook page, its now at $35 USD ($95 new RRP) nobody has shown any interest and with good reason. Can’t believe anyone would buy this in-store, must be all blind buyers hoping to smell like a “king” but they end up smelling like watered-down battery acid instead. Reviews are all over the place, which is always a good sign that people are hopelessly trying to attach actual notes to an indescribable industrial stink, probablybecause they are trying to offload it in this era of “catch and release” fragrance purchasing.

Konig: (translates to KING) follows two paths at the same time - there are two chords - one open and inviting fruity and the other of woody leathered vetiver, bitter and very ripe - both live together. Opening: you can feel ALL the notes of the grid in perfect balance of volume, I rarely get this in any perfume - a little above the others you can feel the apple and the papyrus. It evolves into a fresh heart of fruity vetiver and gently cheerful / opened by sage and gallanthus giving a soft floral touch, but at the same time very bitter by cypress and matured by papyrus, with vetiver + leather - a leathered vetiver, softened by musk and amber - this second chord always at the background from start to finish. Many find an aromatic reference to Aventus, but Aventus, although complex in construction, delivers a simple result to the user - here, while the construction is equally complex, the result delivered, unlike Aventus, is also complex. However, in my concept, Konig at least rivals the aroma (in all its aspects - quality, novelty, versatility, proposal) and exceeds a little in performance (slightly - the projection is little more than the Aventus).

Apple Vetiver. If you're looking for a good masculine fragrance that's safe and modern, Konig might be worth checking out. The whole fragrance is basically all about the pairing of a green apple note and woody / grassy vetiver. This combo, despite probably resulting a bit too simple, give birth to a nicely played woody aromatic composition with soft leathery / smoky undertones and herbal nuances. Easy to wear, by all means masculine and office-friendly but probably too restrained to my tastes. With that said, this is still head and shoulders above the average quality available amongst similar fragrances. Rating: 6.5-7/10

For me this is a very smooth, moderately complex vetiver scent. I don't get much apple, and I like Unbreakable, which has an obvious apple note (that lasts). I generally dislike scents with strong vetiver so I'm surprised that I like this one. Now the price is another matter entirely. At $30 for 50 ml I think I'd be a buyer, for example. As things stand, I have Guerlain's Vetiver Frozen, which has a similar quality, in terms of being a vetiver scent that's smooth, as well as Cereus #5, so considering how I rarely wear such fragrances, this one would be redundant.

Evidently "Konig" is german for King, though based on smell alone, I might have translated it as "knight". It has a medieval, rusty-sword-cutting-through-the overgrowth quality to my nose. Smokey apples, vetiver, and woods dominate, supported by some witchy aromatics. It's sylvan and somber. I'm not well-versed enough in men's fragrances to draw any comparisons, though I can't say it reminds me much of the less melancholy, more laundered-smelling Encre Noire, beautiful as that scent is. Konig has a real Sir Gawain and the Green Knight vibe. Beautiful stuff.

this fragrance & Sombre Negra have something in common, both of them lacks a note that is already in the other fragrance. Konig is an apple Vetiver & soft leather essence that is amazing but lacks a note that is shown clearly in Sombre Negra and i personally can't define! so as Sombre Negra has a missing note that's shown obviously in Konig. i was about to buy Konig and good that i didn't cause when i compare them i just realized the missing notes in both. i can't deny that both are amazing but still not complete!

Bigsly - I find them nearly indistinguishable from one another with Absinth being brighter and Konig being a bit heavier with a barely noticeable leather note. The longevity of Absinth is much better. I love both and if I had to choose I'd take the Absinth for the brilliance and longevity but either would be fine. And yes the vetiver is prominent in both.

This is Encre Noire with leather. Same Elmer's glue smell with a super dry woody note. I'm surprised that people see it differently. Longevity is 4 hours, sillage is moderate, replay value also moderate thus making the perfume somewhat forgettable. I have come to the conclusion that Yosh will never top her best creation of Sombre Negra.

I like the way Bigsly said it - 'Moderatley complex' The opening is imo ozonic and very modern and appealing. I couldn't even tell Vetiver was at the root of all this goodness goin in the scent. Very well done vetiver if not among the very best out there. She put some thought into this for us vetiver lovers!! N I C E

I get a lot of cypress in this. To my nose, it's basically Encre Noire (current formulation) with apple note. Moderate projection and longevity on my skin.

Nothing special.. Apple, smokey vetiver.. Kind of aventus but based on apple. Poor sillage, poor texture on skin. Poor in general.

Konig by Yosh is about apple baked in fire. Interesting, smoky composition for fall and winter.

This dark woody forest, apple, cypress its nice but pricy, poor projection!
