Bois Fou

I can ́t fully express the true beauty of this fragrance. Being a devoted fan of Ys-Uzac I was full of expectation when Bois Fou and Minuit Céleste were recently released, and they both blew me away completely. Vincent Micotti has this rare talent of evoking vivid and poetic olfactory images, and the way the inspirational lyrics of the compositions and the actual fragrance make a coherent connection is striking. Ys-Uzac ́s fragrances are not like anything else you have smelled before, the fragrances open up new spaces and tell stories. Bois Fou is warm and inviting, fruity and spicy, but the best way to know more about the fragrance is basically to read the notes from the brand: "The concept of Bois Fou is a virtual experience of a spectacular civilization which vanished more than two thousand years ago. Imagine the excitement when the first man rediscovered this ancient capital and walked into a woodland in the middle of the desert. It was not a ruin, but the remains of a wonderland. Like in a fairy-tale, fruits were eye-catching and treasures abundant. The presence of the ancient oak barrels, the dried vines, the silhouette of tremendous pomegranate trees and pear trees bathed in bright sunlight added to the magical scene. Suddenly we enter into a multi-sensory childhood dream that existed before, somehow, somewhere. Composition: Desert Wind, Pomegranate Tree, Oak Wood, Ancient Fruit Trees, Apple Wood, Poplar, Red Willow bark" Highly recommended and worth every cent!

This is a very well balanced fruity wood fragrance. One of the best I've encountered for everyday wear, casual or formal. Don't let the cranberry-apple vibes spook you from getting this one, as they are elegant and unique. The woody notes work as a perfect compliment to the rest of the composition. Another great scent from one of my favorite perfumers. Well done!
