Doriane

Nose Note #280 Good old-fashioned poudery, flowery, sandalwoody, very soft, very smooth. Doesn't smell generic, gives off the elegance vibe. But I cannot connect to the old fashioned nature of it. The only similar perfume I've had was Givenchy Organza, but that one is more modern and is for summer. You can wear this all year round, but it is definately not for the hotter days. It's very good, but is just lacking something for me. Considering the price this is a hit. I wish these types of scents did not conjure the images of old ladies. Because honestly I think it would fit a young lady with a quiet attitude nicely.

Melancholic, haunting type of fragrance which smells like a melange of nineties fragrances - it's like Chloe Narcisse and JPG Classique minus the nailpolish remover note. There's a hint of Mackie in here also with the fruity pinepple note. It makes me feel sad but uplifted somehow. Like it was meant to be worn in the autumn right before winter arrives which is when I wear this one. Longevity for a cheap fragrance. I am on my second bottle which says it all. A cheap but beautiful classic which has aged well even though it's 20 or so years old now. A classic fruity chypre.

Hello all, greetings from UK. I must agree with one of the below reviews, it does smells like 80’s magazine and it is not over powering, I think it is quite soft and I like it a lot but on my skin doesn't stay long. I can smell a faint similarity to Chloe but wouldn't go as far as to say smells like it. Sorry but nothing like organza which I own and love! Absolutely not similar to Lou Lou either! For the price is worth having a bottle while is still around to purchase, recommend. PS Irina, if you are still looking for it there is a few on ebay and amazon.

I understand why so many of you compare it to Narcisse, but in my opinion Doriane is not as warm, fruity or powdery. I own both and just spent like 20 minutes sniffing them. Yes, they are similar, but the peachy and balsamic notes that make Narcisse so appealing to me are simply not present in Doriane. However, Doriane is an amazingly pleasant fragrance in its own right, as long as you don't think of it as a dupe for Narcisse. I truly enjoy having it in my collection!

To my nose, Doriane is rather pretty similar to Givenchy's Organza. It's on my had list and the lady I gifted it to had told me that Doriane was the best perfume she'd ever used. Mind you this lady likes/wears classics like Youth Dew, Tabu (a gift from me again), Samsara and Opium. Jasmine, orange blossom and amber is pretty opulent in Doriane; and albeit it smells a bit artifical to my nose, it deserves a praise.

Doriane deserves attention indeed, such classical structure becoming so rare these days. Although the chypre classification is nonsense to me, I would define it as such: a big white mellow ambery fragrance just as warm as a big comforting motherly fragrant hug, powerfully securing. Worth trying if you are into big florals with a soft soul.

Opulent! Strong, fruity, similar to Narcisse Chloe to me.
