Nimitz

There are many fragrances that start out with a strong blast of bergamot and dry down to something amber-y, with other notes and characteristics along the way. All do it a little differently. This one does it perfectly for me. Having very much liked Thallium, Thallium Sport and Thallium Black, I didn't see it as much of a risk to buy Nimitz based on a couple of reviews here, especially for the $16 an eBay seller was asking for it. A great surprise to me is that it perfectly matches a soap with which I shower - a dollar store pickup called La Bella which I believe is described as a honey-almond fragranced soap, though I'm not sure that means much since I have yet to find another soap that matches that description that I would consider even tolerable. Nimitz is very similar to Bogart Pour Homme, just with the hard edges smoothed over a bit. The Bogart, which is probably my favorite fragrance, is definitely evening wear. Nimitz can be worn in the day as well. That's what's most important to me. The whole reason I got into fragrances, soaps, shaving creams, etc. was to make the morning routine more engaging (less miserable, tomato/tomahto). Having different selections to choose from every morning goes a long way in doing that. Projection is just right, just enough that I get whiffs of it from time to time through regular movement. I can smell it on my skin all day long - it seems to last longer than most. I highly recommend this if you like fragrances with this basic set of notes. It looks like if you can find it, expect to pay $15-$25.

This bottle was by far my best budget blind buy of 2019, and by best I mean out of the 80 bottles I picked up this one is hands down the clear winner, and I got quite a few other gems, so it’s say a lot that this is my best one. In some ways it reminds me of a cross between Jacques Bogart pour homme and Rassasi Daarej. It’s really beautiful smelling. It’s a touch sweet smelling from the pineapple and amber, and it’s has some small amount of spiciness as well, but man when that dry down kicks in, you’re left with a beautiful aromatic leftover that just pushes all of the right buttons for me. I got this off of Fragrancebuy.ca for $19 bucks. It just blows my mind how great this stuff really is. My only complaint is the performance, as on my skin I only get about 3 hours, but still for the price and the smell this is just exceptional. You will not regret this purchase if you blind buy. If you see it, instantly purchase it. This is a strong 9/10 for me.

I wanted something nice for this winter so after not quite seeing it but reading about it on FragranceX It had NO picture at the time I ordered it. You kind folks helped with your positive reviews. It's an Oriental/Herbal type fragrance. Top notes are very fresh,fruity pineapple,bergamot,orange. 10 mins later geranium comes in with lavender nutmeg,jasmine.I detect some patchouli, vetiver, lots of amber and sandalwood from then on. Recommend for those over 30 imho as it is a mature man's fragrance. Great rich scent I scored for $17.95 plus tax! Love the cool bottle so unique! Scent: 9/10 Projection:2-3 feet Sillage: 7/10 Longevity: 10 -12 hours and a skin scent next morning! Buy this hidden gem!

Nimitz. When I came to Saudi Arabia for my work in 2015, I asked many people around who knows the best perfume in the market irrespective of the price. Because I had no source or clue to find one when internet wasn't used much by me. I came across a colleague who suggested this master piece. But sadly I purchased this from a local market. Poor storage of perfumes made the performance a little bad. Yet, the bottle presentation impressed me. it costed me like 8 to 10USD I think. It was fresh, with opening citrus and fruity dry down. Its quite suitable for mild summer and a winter daytime. I can recommend it as an office scent. This is non offensive perfume with average sillage and longevity.

This smell is the best, soooooo good, my husband asked : who smells here so nice !!!! Very herbal, fresh and soft undertones,very good sillage , stays till the next morning. I bought this one in Holland at Kijkshop for 10 euro's :-) but it smells much mor expensive ! Good for both sexes

Cheap! I bought it a while ago to put in my dashboard Its unique and not generic smelling so thats nice. Rich, creamy and opulent based on amber, cardamom and lavender with a fresh opening of pineapple, somehow sweet 'n dense. No detection of vetiver what so ever! Perfect for daring men and women. (unisex!) If i would rate it : 6.5/7 Cannot decide if this smell like Envy? i must try that one again.

I get sticky, sweet, burnt marshmallow and shaving cream from this. Medium strong and very pleasant.

The pyramid above is somewhat misleading. I did not get too much (if any) pineapple note, which is sad, since I bought this fragrance just because of that. Indeed it opens very similar to Bogart Pour Homme, but as it dries down, it get sweeter and more floral. Bogart is more dry and masculine, while Nimitz is more average. If I have to choose between Bogart and Nimitz, I will always pick Bogart.

I heard somewhere that this fragrance Nimitz smells alot like Gucci Envy? The same group that makes Yves De Sistelle Thallium makes this.. Does anyone have any input on this fragrance?

It’s an inoffensive version of “Rasasi Daarej PH” — light smell of burnt sugarcane? Daarej has strong smell that’s offensive to some people. Nimitz is better.
