Autour de Minuit

Sometimes I buy perfumes and keep them closed in their boxes for some time and I "hide" them somewhere deep in the closet. Later, on one of those days of rearranging and cleaning my space, I "discover" them under piles of clothes and get excited like a found a little forgotten treasure! It's a kind of "game" between us.. ;) This is the case with Autour de Minuit.. We just "met" again yesterday, after a few months of anticipation.. I fell in love with it! My nose is not trained enough yet to talk about the notes the way other people here talk and make my jaw drop with their poetic and so vivid and to-the-point descriptions so I'm feeling a little sad that I cannot put into words the FEELINGS that this little gem evokes in me.. That's right. Feelings. This is one of those perfumes that you don't just enjoy and feel pleased with but it moves you deeply.. It starts with an unimportant alcoholic blast that lasts only a few seconds maximum and doesn't "steal" nothing from its beauty.. It then quickly mellows into a divine scent that soothes your soul and transfers you to another dimension.. I was in doubt wether I do or don't like patchouli but after loving and adoring Angel by Thierry Mugler and now Autour de Minuit, I'm obviously a confirmed patchouli fanatic! :D I can also clearly and consistently smell iris in the background in a very lovely and well blended way, not annoying at all. Its sillage is -I would say- moderate and the longevity weak to moderate. I wear perfumes for myself and not to impress others so the sillage is not a problem being moderate (unless when a perfume is not even detectable to my own nose!). Of course I wish the longevity would be longer but when I find a perfume that I LOVE, it doesn't really matter as long as I can enjoy those moments with it. This perfume is sensual but not sexy, elegant but not boring, fresh but not sharp, sweet but not gourmand, young but not teenage young, mature but youthful mature. It personally makes me feel wanting to wear it both during spring days and autumn/winter nights. I don't always put gender labels on perfumes unless they are too feminine or too masculine. I believe that I would enjoy this one more on a woman than on a man. It is that kind of perfume that is not fit for crazily wild nights with your partner but for a very deep eye-to-eye love making, if you know what I mean.. This is THE perfume that expresses the simultaneous joy and sorrow that you feel when you meet your long distance partner after you havent met in a very long time.. Sorrow for all the lost time and joy for the reunion at last.. A tight, passionate hug with closed eyes when you can finally smell your lover's neck again.. It smells like nostalgia and melancholy but at the same time it smells like hope and life! Long story short, it smells ECLECTIC & PURPLE.. ♡ That is, perfect (to me)!

I have no idea why, but the citrus note in this comes across as black currant jam on my skin. And it smells delicious. 10-15 minutes after applying the fragrance the jam scent dissappears and makes room for a lovely iris, that smells like marshmallow dust. Also incredibly delicious. The marshmallow dust lasts a long while, slowly blendig with that lovely, really smooth, slightly dark patchouly in the base. This is a great gourmand fragrance. Very pleasant, not too sweet or cloying. I can't wait to enjoy this in autumn. I really think it would bloom in the slightly cooler temperatures. Autour de Minuit has medium strength and lasts around 6 hours on my skin. This is definitely one of the more interesting ones of the new fragrances from Yves Rocher. I really appreciate it!

This is my third YR perfume from one collection. I blindly purchased this as the name, color, and ingredients made me curious. Autour De Minuit (Around Midnight), is a patchouli scent like nouveau genre. It is a sweet feminine scent. Not a very strong scent like nouveau genre but it lasted on my shirt for more than 12 hours. The scent is similar to Jovan Black Musk for women, but very subtle, less offending, and definitely stays longer on the skin. This is a scent you wear at night. Very sensual and mature. men can also wear this scent as the profile of sweetness change after being sprayed. The sweetness mellows, combines well with a very light citrus and floral scent profile, and followed by this blend of powdery and musk profile.

I usually don’t like perfumes with patchouli, but this one is very well blended. It is a pleasant winter scent, something in the lines of La vie est belle, but darker - without being overly sweet. Not so much longevity or projection, but it’s alright. I think you can overspray with this one, it’s not going to be too much.

I love this perfume. It smells young, fresh and purple. It is simple but strongly reminds me of Angel by Mugler.

Best perfume from Yves Rocher. Iris +citrus scents in a wonderful combination.

I don't know why, but I struggle trying to formulate a review for this one, and don't usually feel confused by what I am smelling. Don't get me wrong, I really really like this fragrance, I'm just not sure how to describe it to give it justice. I think the vague and confusing description on the box says it all "The light and dark elegance of the iris distills its mystery. A troubling and profound addiction" and describes itself as a sensual gourmand. I do find it addicting, it is sensual, but it is not a gourmand. There's a lot of contradictions of notes within in fragrance, which does add a layer of 'je ne sais quoi" mystery to it. It is a patchouli -centred fragrance, but not skanky or dirty, it's sweet and almost chocolatey. There's an almost boozy sweetness of mandarin and a fresh picked juicy plum. There's fresh citrus and fruits, powdery iris, yet also creamy woods that add depth. Lots to work with but it all blends together quite well. I'm trying to think of other fragrances I can compare to. It's like layering L'interdit Rouge, Mancera Choco Violet, and Montale Dark Purple together. What's frustrating is that 2 healthy sprays to the wrist and it projects quite well, but then it almost takes a complete 180 where at the 30-45min mark it fades to very light with very poor projection. It does lasts around 6-7 hrs.

I just got this today, and wearing now. This is a cozy patchouli scent, definitely for cooler temps imho. I almost get a berry note but maybe it is the iris violet balsamic combo that gives me the berry feel. I like it, it isnt too sweet, feels like the same family as sable fauve (i adore that). I love everything in this line. I think they are all perfect for work especially. I like that they are all the right concentration and not powerhouses. I like to go to the ladies room at lunch and freshen up with a small spritz. The 30ml bottles are great for your makeup bag. I definitely get purple as the color of this fragrance. It is a great fall/winter fragrance. It has a dark feel, but not too sexy. It would be great for christmas i think, it has the same feel as a winter holiday sleigh ride through the woods and sipping on hot cider wearing a big chunky sweater:) It is like a distant cousin to lveb, specifically the intensement flanker i think. I definitely get a berry jam or maybe a berry pie, but i am not sure i consider it ultra gourmand.

this is not a floral, sweet perfume. quite the contrary. it is earthy , woody , quiet. Almost austere and temperate. if i could imagine colors for this perfume, it would be grey and midnight blue 🔵. the iris is strong , but the earthy iris, not the fantasy iris . the vetiver and citrus turns leans this perfume towards a bit more androgynous scent. good for office and formal activities. it is not a head turner in my opinion . not extremely strong smelling . i think it fits stubborn, philosophical, complex personalities .

For the second time Yves Rocher had an amazing discount on their website. The first item in your basket for only Euro 1,- So I picked this up and I like it, like: like it alot. A burst of red fruits at the first spray. like putting jam on a warm and buttery croissant. Gosh this is good! I am overspraying this one like a little devil but hey who doesn't like a hot buttery croissant with jam...

If you like patchouli, this perfume is made for you! It's very strong, nearly too much, but, it's just so very nice, and I got the powdery iris in the background, and, I think it's perfect for christmas and wintertime and fall, it also reminds me a lot of my most beloved and dearly missed iris Noir, YR. 10/10

Definitely has AP Fatale / Lancome LVEB vibe to it! Cheaper alternative in case someone loves the feeling of those two (and all the flankers resembling LVEB). It's sweet but not fruity or gourmand-y sweet. Patchouli like chocolate, not too dusty. I wish the Iris was stronger.

This is my second fragrance on the Yves Rocher La Collection line. The patchouli and iris notes are very prominent on my skin and hair. I love how it smells woody and sweet. It reminds me of Lancomes La Vie Est Belle.

I got this perfume as a choice gift from Yves Rocher, i was so excited about it, thinking it will be such a nice feminine perfume but...when it arrived i was truly dissapointed because it.s between not too feminine not to masculine, is has some green fresh notes and that damn haitian vetiver i never liked it into women perfumes because it smells good for men, i am kinda confused about this one, it does smells a bit similar to LVEB by Lancome but not so feminine version, i do have a dupe perfume from LVEB (câline jour en rose) and that smells so good and so feminine but doesn.t last so long is more lighter dupe, this one it lasts longs and has a huge sillage it gives me headache but yeah choice matters here...it smells fruity too, i asked my man if he would wear that but nope he is not that type of sweet perfumes, it is somewhere between. And get Avon has some kind of dupes to these ones from Yves rocher, their line is Artistique, they have also many similar to the yves rocher unisex perfumes.

I just ordered this because FOMO because they were selling this in their outlet. This smells quite familiar to me. I have owned So Elixir purple one and La Vie Est Belle and this reminds me both of them especially in the beginning. When it mellows down it becomes different and quite pleasant and creamy. I can see how this is called gourmand but I am not sure what kind of delicatesse are we exacly having here. I can imagine this being potentially too much in a hot summer day. Thats why I say it is more of an autumn and winter fragrance.

After bois sensuel discontinued I read in many articles that this one smells like her. NOPE. What a disappointment. This might be her very distant cousin from the same Yves familia and she is way younger. Bois sensuel was a woman, she was attractive, feminine, elegant very classy you could wear cold weather days and 4 season nights with many compliments. Graceful... This one just screams sugar and patchouli. I always love some patchouli in my fragrances but this is not it. I thought at least it could be elegant night fragrance with iris and vetiver bot no. This perfume is just wanna make me wash away anytime I give a chance.

this starts with sweet plums or berries and patchouli. maybe there is some orange, but it's hard to believe there is no other fruit listed here because it is very sweet and fruity. i get a hint of woodiness from vetiver but not much. i suppose there is iris here but it's not usually what i think of when i think of iris. it dries down to a sweet iris fruitchouli. this smells nothing like iris noir to me but smells like a lot of other scents i've smelled, i'm just not sure which. iris noir was not fruity like this, this is completely different, at least with my skin chemistry.

I don't like iris much so I'm gonna give a very personal opinion about this fragrance. Here, iris is very dominant, and adding the patchouli note made it worse. Also, I do not find it gourmand at all?!?! (yet described as gourmand on YR's website). It's very earthy, woody and spicy. It reminds me very, VERY much of Do Not Drink, Sephora's Eau Corsée (which is nothing like Corsée with its non-existent coffee note), but honestly, I prefer the latter one way more. 4/10

This one is decent, but it's not my taste. It's too pungent, with vanilla note very prominent. The deep purple colour suits this fragrance well. Dry down is powdery, with lots of iris. I sneeze quite a bit wearing this, and I am not even wearing it heavily.

this is going to be discontinued (along with nouveau genre, voile d'ocre, garden party and tropical tentation). if you like it, grab it while you still can.

The first big unisex line from YR! Autour de MINUIT is a lovely fragrance to wear for evening. If colour blue had a fragrance, this would be very close -in a beautiful way. I have five fragrances of the new line and all of them have certain fresh undertone in them, but are still quite feminine. My husband said that he couldn't imagine wearing any of them but likes them on me, nice and light. The bottle design is plain and simple and comes near The Body Shop package design. The cap is thin, black plastic. These fragrances are maybe not quite worth their normal price tags but YR has often good bargains. Anyway, a nice opening for this autumn.

This is an interesting fragrance, although it smells nothing like the list of notes provided above. My first impression was ‘hmm, cassis!’ It opens with cassis and vetiver, and then progresses towards dusty iris. It is one of the strongest scents in the new unisex line (second best after Soleil Blanc, which is one killer gardenia). Btw I would never classify this scent as unisex - to me it’s very feminine. If Autour de Minuit was intended as a substitute for the sadly discontinued Iris Noir, I wouldn’t say that it succeeded; but it’s a decent scent on its own.

BEWARE - the above Fragrantica description and genre are not in accordance with the Rocher brand!!! Because of the extremely incorrect information listed here, I blind bought a bottle, expecting a Chypre Floral. IT IS NOT! As stated on the box and as perceived after spraying on my skin this is a Sensual Gourmand. I am not a fan of any kind of Gourmand so I am very disappointed with this purchase. Thanks a lot, Fragrantica. SIGH

Makes me think of a drier less sweet versionof la nuit trésor , the fruity notes are not pronounced as la nuit , smells more powdery too
