Rose Fraiche

Just got this... I wasn't expecting too much, but wow! First, the bottle [100ml]: the glass is a lovely pink colour--not garish or girly. The corners are all rounded, and the bottle fits nicely in my hand, so it's easy to spray. The fragrance itself is light, but not invisible or unnoticeable. I can smell it on myself hours after I first put it on. At first spritz, I can smell the grapefruit, but that fades to reveal the rose and a sort of sweet [dare I say candy?] note. That sweet note fades after a few minutes to leave the lovely rose which lasts for hours and hours. If you love rose, and are looking for something you can wear every day without tiring of it, and that won't offend anyone by being overpowering, I recommend this!

I really truly enjoyed wearing this rose fragrance today. It was an excellent citrusy blend balancing a dewy, green, sweet rose. I wish that it lasted longer, it only has the strength of a cologne really, but it was easy to reapply coming in such a large bottle. This fragrance is a girly, sweet, and happy floral. If someone were to like grapefruit and rose fragrances this would be an easy, safe gift.

Very optimistic fragrance. Reminds me of fresh pink rose in bloom. It doesn't turn sour on skin. If you are generous with sprits it will last longer. It is good as casual scent or for layering.

at a price lower but really lower than declaration d'un soir i have the same scent with the same longevity and sillage.good buy!!!!!!!!!!!

I secretly regret buying this a little bit. It was only 13 euros for 100ml and it smelled nice in the shop, but coming home and comparing it to my other scents it does smell a bit cheap. I could have also spent a little bit more and have instead gotten a nicer scent, perhaps... The scent itself: it is not bad. Rose, bit sweet, bit soapy, overall nice young scent. It probably will be nicer in the summer, I'll re-review it then. It does not project a lot, moderate sillage, lasts about a day, although in the last hours it turns more into a skin scent. Hmm. It is okay to have, but I do not love it. In fact I feel a bit pressured now that I will have to finish all the 100mls of it and it is standing in the way of a new perfume addition since I have limited myself to 10... Would not recommend if you want something special, but if you are not really into special perfumes and just want a nice, budget-proof one that certainly will not upset anyone, here it is.

To me, this is a basic rose scent, nothing too complicated, quite linear actually. On me, I find it a little sweet, refreshing, and soothing, it blends into my skin quite nicely.It is not how real rose smells like, rather its people's impression on rose. I am no expert on rose, to me this is does not belong to the best or classic rose category. However, it is a comfortable scent, non offensive, something that I would wear to give my nose and ppl around me a break. I like it and wouldnt mind wearing it quite often. The price point is attractive, plus Yves Rocher often has promotion, but I went through my bottle too fast. Sillage is alright but longevity is poor. I find myself having to respray quite often, almost once every 1 1/2 hr or 2 hr. Great for those who like subtle and non offensive scent, but frustrating for the others who like strong unique scent.

This is a nice fresh pick me up right after taking a shower. Before looking at the notes I was sure there must be some green notes as well, but it seems I only get this impression from the combination of citrus and woody notes. Rose (a true rose scent, just like cut roses in the flower shop) and lemon clearly dominate the scent. It's just an Eau de Toilette, so I'm not expecting it to last too long. Also it being quite inexpensive I don't mind reapplying it throughout the day. I prefer to wear it at home in the AC. In the humid heat of Mumbai it may keep you fresh for a bit, but except for the lemon none of the notes will manage to make their way up to your nose. All in all this seems to me a lovely natural appeal scent for European spring time climate. Now I'm curious to try the Lilac Eau de Toilette from the same line.

I've had this for a while now and only now came to see its reviews on Fragrantica. It has more than one note?! Really?! I smell roses and only roses. Fresh cut roses, the sweet kind of roses, but only roses nonetheless. Sometimes I feel that the manufacturers are straight-out lying about various notes they add in fragrances - because they are protected by the copyright law in perfume recipes, they can say whatever notes they think will increase the sales. It's listed as an eau de toilette, but it has such a poor longevity that it should be marketed as a body-spray really. 2 hours max on skin with 5-6 sprays.I use it for layering, otherwise I'd have to re-apply it all the time. I also like the accompanying shower gel - it has the exact same smell and does not dry out my skin.

This was a good surprise for me! A very fresh and likeable scent, great for very hot summer days. It starts with a soft combo of roses and slightly sweet citrus fruits on the back. On my skin, the fruit notes went away quickly, and what remained until the end was a floral-musk fragrance. It is a linear perfume, but I didn't bother about that, because I was hoping for, as the name says, a fresh rose. Rose Fraîche is like a breeze of roses, to be used on a spring or summer day. It smells clean and calm and is very feminine. It's certainly not an outstanding perfume, but it's easy to like and to wear. The sillage is soft, but it lasted about 4 hours on me, skin scent.

At first this rose fragrance smells like that: roses. After a while it turns into a sweet, warm scent, reminding me of YR's Flowerparty. There is something very rich, thick and warm like honey or amber in the base. I know there really is neither, but still. The sillage is average, my boyfriend can smell this on me like a meter away, we tested. He also can smell this on me long after I can't anymore. Anyhow, this is a nice little sweet rosy scent. I dare even say boring! Great when you want to say "I am cute and happy today!" All in all, I like this at least a little.

i bought the small size, and the bottle is adorable - it's pink glass! but the scent? eh. it was worth the $4 or so i paid for it, but not a penny more. i schpritzed my arm about half an hour ago... the first few seconds were tantalizingly similar to their old Moroccan Rose, but then it went straight to bitter grapefruit, with a hint of some other sour fruit, like apricot or mango. and now, half an hour later, i can't smell it at all anymore. i'm sure others could, but whether it would smell like roses is anyone's guess. :(

This does indeed smells like a fresh cutted rose. I am normally not a big fan of rose perfumes, they all smell "old lady" to me, but this one has a young feel to it. It does smells vintage, but is rather like an young lady from the 50 ́s than an old lady. Main notes for me are rose (a sweet one, i guess this is because of the fruity notes) and bergamot. I think i can also smell the grapefruit somewhere. With a few sprays it fills a room and longevity is moderate to long lasting.

Like all the other Un matin au Jardin (what a lovely name for a collection of soliflores!) this smells very real, really makes you feel you are in your garden, in the morning. Something irresistible in all these scents, including the bottle design. This really is the early morning rose, and I love it. But dear Monsieur Rocher, put some power in these bottles! More perfume oil, less water! I want this to last longer than half an hour!

This is a nice basic Rose Solifleur. It was very alcoholic in the opening but it fades quickly. It's a basic tea rose. Nothing out-of-the-box. It fades so quickly that it's more of an aromatic water than a perfume. It's gone within an hour. It is pretty and nice for a light, quick citrusy rose burst. I actually like to spray it in a room to freshen it up a bit. It makes me smile.

it's beautiful and it's cheap. but much fancy than other similar costed fragrances. but the only problem is it's disappears after few hours so if you loved this perfum buy their body lotion and use it together and it'll lasts long. for me it's great choice for budgeted months. cheap but great maybe you can use it till your expensive fragrance's money collected...

I usually stay away from floral perfumes because they tend to be sickly sweet , but this one is great! Probably on account of the musk and citrus notes, its a fresh and delicious scent with quite good sillage and longetivity. Perfect for first date or just at work, 10/10 :)

Ooh YUMMY! This is what I've been looking for! The lightest, freshest, most intoxicating and airy scent! I could bathe in this and still not bother anyone. So lovely. 10 points!

Starts out fresh, as the name indicates, and becomes candied rose later. Doesn't turn powdery on me like some of the other scents in this range do. Lasts four or five hours.

It was very nice on me, I really loved it! :) Few people told me it is made for me, very fresh and totally spring scent.

A soft and lightly fruity fresh rose scent.

Had expectations, but no no no. At first there is beautiful rosy smell, somewhat spicy. Then, within five minutes, something happens! There is strong after-smell of something I cannot name. It is like an old out-of-date perfume that is rough and stinky? Unfortunately the rose-smell goes away quite quickly. Tried it a few times, but did not work for me. Toilet-freshener? - Yes!

Searching for my perfect rose-- this is NOT it! I actually thought they forgot to put the fragrance in my bottle, there is a sugar smell, but nothing more. I don't know how they dare call this Rose. Maybe they waved a rose over the bottle before packaging.

I like more this fragrance from the line. Light rose fragrance. It smells natural enough, only not long-lasting. But I wouldn't buy it, because I have enough more interesting roses fragrances.

This one is poorly made. Obviously all EDT are based on alcohol but when spraying YR's Rose Fraiche I can mainly smell this offensive alc.denaturate odour. Rose comes 10 long minutes later.

Rose scented airfreshner for the bathroom. That is what this crap smells like. I was hoping for a shabby chic, vintage kind of rose, but no. Cute bottle though.

A young, innocent, fresh & fruity modern take on rose......that almost delivers. In the garden, the rose bud opens as the summer morning begins. A young "English Rose" skips down the garden, barefoot, tresses tumbling around her shoulders. She stoops to sniff the rose...& then her boiled-sweet-sucking breath swamps the poor flower with sticky candy warmth. Her sticky mitts grab the bloom & pull it rudely from the plant, petals scattering onto the lawn. She tuts & discards the ruined rose, picks up her plastic mug of juice & skips up back to the house. Modern is not necessarily best. The opener is a pale pink rose bud, refreshed by bergamot & drenched not in sparkling morning dew but dripping with the nectar from a ripe, juicy tangerine & a touch of bitter pulp. As the scent warms to the skin it becomes sweeter, more fruity, a little fizzy. The lasting power is average & the sillage polite. The drydown is a clean, sweet musk. I can't help but wish for a fresher version of Rose Fraiche - more sap & stem & musty earth! As much as I adore Rose Absolu for its sticky, jammy rose I can't help but think this Earl-grey-tea-meets-rose-scented-orange-squash needs a few thorns to awaken the senses & raise it above the average young rose frag. Nice. Pretty. Sweet. Not innocent enough - I still search for my rosey summer-stunner.

One clear advantage of Yves Rocher ROSE FRAICHE, from the recently launched Un Martin au Jardin collection of soliflores, is that it does not feature the sticky base found in the Secrets d'Essence collection from this same house, including ROSE ABSOLUE. The first time I tried this fragrance, it struck me as somewhat ugly, but I think that I was not processing this as peony. To my nose this is clearly a peony-rose fragrance. Probably there is a bit more rose than peony, but it could just as easily have been named PIVOINE-ROSE FRAICHE. The scent is light and fresh, as advertised, without smelling very watery. It is also not at all soapy, and much less green than TEA ROSE and many other rose soliflores. For the modest price, this is a decent everyday peony-rose perfume. On comparing it to Bvlgari ROSE ESSENTIELLE edp, I realized that in some ways and on some days I prefer this one, because the Bvlgari, too, contains the sticky base common to so many mainstream abstract (synthetic) floral launches. I would recommend this composition to peony before rose aficionados. Some versions of peony bother me, but this one does not at all. A simple pink floral fragrance is the bottom line here.

At first, it smells like wild rose, then it transforms into a powdery something. I like it, but this Un matin au jardin range of perfumes is very disappointing to me... Weak perfumes, barely noticeable scent... Please Yves Rocher, do something... Or at least in 2022, relaunch a better version of garden flower perfumes, like Pur Desir was, or even better. Pur Desir de Lilas, the lilac perfume is my biggest regret. After 7 years I still keep half a bottle, as a reminder. Much more strong, and much more real lilac like. Too bad...

One of my staples from Yves Rocher. I've been buying this scent for the past 8-10 years. It gives off light floral spring vibes. First spray will hit you with a soapy rose scent reminiscent of fragrant rosey shampoo, but it "softens" after 20 minutes or so even without sweating, leaving you with light and fresh powdery-floral scent. It's a perfect after-shower fragrance or a morning spritz before going out of the house. Scent lasts for 3-5 hours.

I'm so dissapointed, so light I can hardly smell anything except the alcahol! 15 minutes later, can not detect it at all. Just a waist of money. I have been trying to find something that smells similar to Yves Rocher's Rose Ispahan but after a year of searching and several thousand spent on perfums nothing comes close! Why discontinue the good ones only to make weak body sprays that you can get in a drug store for $4.95 for 8 oz bottle?

From what I remember, this smells very much like Rose from Paul Smith, but a bit less aquatic and with much less longevity. Price/quality-wise Paul Smith offers more value, in my opinion. But Yves Rocher has matching bad- and body products, that might be very interesting to combine with either its original scent or Paul Smiths. Certainly worth trying out, next time they have one of those fantastic sales offers.

Nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. It speaks the prise nicely, for me rather fruty, not much of a sillage and not much longevity, but for 12 15 Euros a hundred mls bottle, it is safe to gift. My roses preference if at all should be rather opulent, but as I said, for the prise class, this is ok. A masses pleaser I'd say.

It is a little sweet, not real rose scent, refreshing. I love this a lot so I have bought full set with body lotion, body shower and the EDT. It only stay 1/2 hour on my skin and totally disappear. Although it is not expensive, but it is still bad for the EDT. I wouldnt buy it again.

Good nice start roses,rose water delicate maybe a little synthetic smell.but at dry down it just smell wet closes. Others edt from this line I love much much more -like fleur de orange or lilac and cherry flower is simply delicate treasure,but subtle one.

It is a really nice rose scent. Clean and powdery, the only real problem is that it lasts about 20 minutes on my skin so by the time I get to work it's gone! Too bad because it's a nice scent for spring and summer.

Sigh. Ok, it wasn ́t expensive, but SERIOUSLY rose water has the same strength! The smell is very nice and sweet, but SO weak that it ́s not worth it. Too bad.

This comes close to Paul Smith "Rose", but the staying power is almost zero. Also in the drydown it's getting more synthetical than Paul Smith.

Cute, decent, almost good. But there is maybe too much alcohol in it, my skin feels like sandpaper after a week wearing this.
