Rose Ispahan

The crown of Yves Rocher's creations together with the regular vintage ISPAHAN. I sniffed it in a newly opened YR shop in Belarus about a decade ago, just when we started to embrace all things western businesswise, and I dreamed, and dreamed, and dreamed for days, months and years of owning it and to be able to spray it on an early sunday morning wearing a soft white or pink angora cardigan while drinking hot steaming tea and looking at the runrise through huge wndows overlooking a blossoming garden! I wanted so much to be that happy grownup woman who has it all, and by all I mean Rose Ispahan as nr. 1 on the list! more than 10 years later - I still don't feel grownup, but there's a bottle of this perfume in its extrait version sitting on my dresser, and I start learning to embrace life the way I thought I would have at this age: I am learning to feel content and search for happiness from inside, rather than looking for a source of it elsewhere, and Rose ispahan is just the best catalyzer for the process! The only true "rose" rose fragrance - pure rose scent, unspoiled by any oher competing florals (if they are there - they don't intefere) with a hint of musk and white chocolate or white rum or something. I hadn't smelled enything similar before and I haven't found anything comparable after: it is indeed very unique, extremely feminine, strong and yet not overpowering and so oh so soft!!! It is like a halo that floats around. I am in love with it and have been for many years. Hunting down every pure perfume bottle I spot on ebay and will never stop wanting more! Even the EDT version is strong enough to last for hours, and the packaging is just so beautiful, especially the matte glass of the bottle! - it actually visulally depicts the scent's auralike qualities! There was a time, when the purpose of creating a scent was producing something SPECIAL, unlike other perfumes, something distinct, something making a woman feel like she's the only one wearing it. And this is that kind. If you get hold of it ( discontinued years ago, so doesn't make a frequent appearance ) - take a chance on it: just for its uniqueness it deserves to be worn at least once in a lifetime.

I adooooooore this fragrance, one of my all-time favorites. This one wins first price in the category hidden gems. The quality is unheard of, even after all these years it hasn’t turned, and I bought a used plash bottle. Yves Rocher had some really good perfumes in the past, and still they sometimes have a nice one. This for me is their queen, together with Rose Absolue followed by Cantate and the Secret d’essences line. It’s a velvet vanilla rose, edible, flirty and fresh. Not a jammy rose like Rose Absolue, and nothing like Mancera. Much more classy. Vintage for non-vintage lovers. It think this is understated sexy. Clove isn’t very noticeable. Mimosa gives it a powdery full bodied hint, but no straight up pollen here thankfully. Moderate to big sillage, and lasts a working day on me. You will smell this on yourself and others will too. Best in fall or spring. Minis are quite available. I managed to get 2 full bottles of this for reasonable prices (under 40 euro). It's worth the hunt, trust me.

I adore this fragrance! It has the most unusual scent! While it is true that sometimes the rose can appear to end up lost underneath the other scents at first, if you are patient the rose slowly wends its way up and out and you will start to notice it now and then, peeking out. It's not really a "rose" fragrance, despite having rose in the title - or at least, that is what I've discovered; yet roses are indeed growing in that garden. To me, this is a desert garden, the flowers growing there hardy and not given to ostentation, saving their energy for staying alive rather than flaunting themselves with strong scents - so the spices of the desert rise in the wind, and underneath that, we get the hints of flowers sneaking in. I can't think of any other way to explain it! It's a pity it isn't available anymore ... unless you can find someone who had the sense to stockpile some and is now selling the little bottles on eBay for %40 or something :-)

I miss this fragrance, but fortunately it seems that unopened packages stay stable for a long time (unlike some others, like YR's Ode de Joie which I also miss terribly). I opened a new bottle purchased recently on eBay and am getting as many compliments on it as I did back when Yves Rocher was still selling it. It's very feminine but with a richness and sensual gravity to it. Am trying to work up a similar fragrance from essential oils. When Yves Rocher switched over from father to son, the fragrances really went downhill and many favorites were immediately discontinued. None of their more recent fragrances really do it for me, and I don't get compliments on them either. Very sad, as for years they were my secret weapon.

I ran out of this wonderful perfume over a year ago and can't find anything I like as well. Ebay is outrageous! I have spent a small fortune looking for something I like as well and nothing comes close! I miss this scent so much it makes me sad thinking about it. to me, it was subtle and intoxicating even after wearing it over a year. Why it is no longer being made, is a crime. why are all the wonderful scents discontinued and tacky stinky ones replacing them? I suppose after wearing something for a really long time, it becomes part of you and it really hurts when its all gone, like a lover who has left for ever. I still miss it!

My 6ml miniature arrived this morning. I put a drop on the back of my hand before going out. All the time I was out, I kept sniffing my hand and marveling at this beautiful fragrance! An ambery, slightly spicy vanilla with ROSE. Lots of rose. Unlike the current takes on vanilla rose, this isn't very sweet, and the vanilla just brings a feeling of coziness and gentle warmth. I immediately ordered a FB from a reseller. Lucky for me it's still around at a decent price. Longevity isn't crazy, but still ok at about 5h on skin. Very curious about the pure parfum version I see mentioned in the comments here.

Good god...what a beauty!! It’s been a while that a perfume impressed me so much...! I found a mini of this, dabbed a little on the back of my hand and...magic! The coziest, sweet but not cloying, comfortable, sexy, powdery floral smell ever! This is like a kitten perfume, a woman who likes taking care of herself and who is also super sweet, happy, casual and affectionate. Can’t stop smelling my hand now, I wish this was still around! Among all the Moments de bonheur, The different Bois and Evidences, this is a gem!

Oh gorgeous rose!!! Spicy, luxurious, creamy, deep, sensuous, velvety, warm, oriental, powdery, mysterious and luxurious rose. I adore this beautiful beautiful perfume. It's exquisite. Exotic and enveloping, glamorous and enticing. I win hearts everywhere I wear Rose Ispahan. Especially my husband's, who swoons over me, and just wants to breathe and breathe me in. It's stunning. It's heaven in a bottle. Divine. Love it. Love it. It melts me. It's so warm. It's so wonderful. It lasts so long too. It's a dream.

Gorgeous rose. Probably the best rose perfume I have ever tried, in fact. I was initially drawn to this scent thanks to the notes being very similar to my discontinued signature, Hugo Boss Intense, but this is a different animal entirely. It does remind me of Intense in a very declawed way, it is as if all the ferocious teeth and unisex-ness of that fragrance have been removed and a docile, fluffy animal is left. In any case, it is excellent on its own merits, and I absolutely love it.

Just had an order with this in it arrive from the Netherlands. I tried the Rose Ispahan first out of my three buys, and I must say I love this fragrance. Yes, the vanilla is there to start but the drydown of the rose and mimosa is just lovely! I've had it on for 8 hours now and am just starting to get the grassy vetiver of the base. This is a lovely lovely scent, complex, sweet at times, spicy at others. I'm moving this one up to one of my favourites!

My mom gave me some vintage mini's through the years and I just stored them in my drawer without a sniff. Some time ago I decided to check them out and it was okay, untill I opened this mini. My...God... I smelled the best scent ever. The rose in this is perfect. It's so cozy, warm and sweet. On skin it becomes even creamier and sweeter, but not overpowering or sickening. Afterwards I bought a big bottle and 6 other mini's. Just to be sure haha.

Oh my God - what a perfume!!! Honestly; I can't add anything to the wonderful reviews here, except to say: GORGEOUS!!! It's my favourite of favourite rose perfumes, and the patchouli is TO DIE FOR! It's the best I've ever smelled; I love patchouli! I love vetiver, and it's gorgeous in this too! And that candied element - soooooo delicious. Beyond wonderful!!! A stunning, superb perfume. Supreme.

Bulgarian rose oil was mixed with vanilla and oriental spices and everything was dissolved in wood sap. I wouldn't say it's jam or syrup, but rather a rose-vanilla-honey shining compote, since the aroma is rarefied, watercolor-fluffy. It has a very telling design of the bottle about the properties of the aroma: it is a sweet and tender orgasmic death during secret pleasure.

i scored a mini bottle of this on ebay after looking for awhile...i think this is gorgeous. a vanilla-rose, heavy on the mimosa. i *know* i have smelled this before or something like it, back in the 90s. it seems so familiar. this is sweet but a bit voluptuous too. definitely in the same ballpark as rose jam but less rosy and more vanilla. i need a big bottle now.

To my nose this smells like a perfectly formed rose macaron- soft and candy sweet. It's flirty and girly, with just the right amount of spice the longer it settles on the skin. After 4+ hours the rose is all but gone, leaving behind a velvety vanilla amber. One of my favourite vintage bottles.

Ahhhh...so smooth, comforting and relaxing. Best combo of rose and vanilla ever. And i'm not a vanilla fan. But this scent puts me in a wonderful place plus it has terrific longevity, So glad i bought a reg size bottle before it goes away forever.

One of the most beautiful orientals, in my opinion. Yes, rose and vanilla, but also so much more. The notes above give a hint to the subtlety and complexity of this fragrance. Longevity is great too. A masterpiece.

yumm i used to have a mini of this and some test tissue or so..very nice perfume just cant remember the strength anybody else does? can't believe they dare to sell it for such an expensive price on ebay!

my mum had this back in 1999. I used to absolutely love it and drown myself in it whenever I visited. it was so well blended and creamy and beautiful I just wish theyhadnt discontinued it

Absolutely stunning! Hands down my favourite fragrance from Yves Rocher. This needs to be brought back exactly as it was.

Lucifera, the strength of this perfume is enormous. It has a real killer sillage and staying power!

Quite a gourmand rose. If you're in the mood for something sweet and gelatinous,yet warm and soft, you'll enjoy this I think. It doesn't feel particularly contemporary, or niche, but it's not dated either. The rosyness is very much rounded by sweet, warm notes of amber and vanilla - the spices and patchouli are well blended background notes, so if you're expecting a perfume with dark or oriental mystery you won't find it here! But the patchouli does provide a bit more depth. I'd say this perfume is more suited to cooler months. Here and there I'm reminded of roasted coconut, or nougat - there's an almond paste effect but not like full-blown almond essence.(not sure if that's partly a mimosa effect - it's not a note I'm very familiar with) I've had this sitting around for quite a few months, but didn't much enjoy it the first time I tried it. I'm not usually keen on gourmands. But the other evening I just felt like something sweet and rosy. I have Drole de Rose, but that felt a little too bright, also I have some powerful roses with more character, but I wanted something soothing,sweet and simple which Rose Ispahan definitely is; it's easy on the nose. Enjoying it now probably corresponds to the cold weather and an urge to cook tasty nutrituous food - things that cheer up the dark days of January. I don't find it a sophisticated or intriguing perfume and for me it would be purely for daytime winter/autumn informal wear. So I'm now exploring other similar sweet rose options that might have a bit more complexity, and have just bought a 5ml miniature of Yves Rocher's Rose Absolue on Ebay. This perfume feels quite simple in its effect, but, like nice sweets - it's quite more-ish! Sillage and logevity seem to be moderate

Oh, how can I put this in words? Rose Ispahan is the scent of an luxurious chocolate-rose praline. Smells nichey+expensive. A work of perfume-art! Sadly hard to find today! Reminds me *A LOT* of Les Parfums de Rosine "Rose Praline". BUT Rose Ispahan smells even better - How is that even possible? Amazing Amzing Rose Ispahan! AND! Look at this gorgeous golden bottle. Isn't that a beauty in any perfume-collection? I have 2 bottles. If I stumble upon a 3'rd or 4'th, I will get it - because I want & need this in my life! LOVE!

I'v got this from a swap from the Lovely c3c but it wasn't what i expected i thought it was going to be a a sharp daring scent but i'v got is a tame scent of cloying vanilla i don't smell any evdidence of rose or spices and i can detect cherries like cherry cough syrup it does smell like cherry cough syrup. i ponder that should i swap it or not because it's hard to find but i'm not crazy about it's scent i don't hate it but i'ts nothing to go ooooooooh ahhhhhhhh about i have to think this over.

Candied mimose and patchouli around beautiful rose is exactly how it is, plus I love vetiver in this perfume, its like among cute vanillic surroundings you enter into circle of those candied patchouli and deep down the velvety Rose iself sits on a Vetivery throne which makes her dusty dry rose.Perfume for Alice In Wonderland

Despite the name and bottle shape, I don't smell any connection between this and the original Ispahan. It's not a terrible scent, but to me it smells just like red cordial! If I squint my nose I can think of it as a rosy vanilla smell - but the association with cordial is just too strong :-( The scent stays that way over time, too. So glad I just bought a mini!

Soft vanilla, warm spices and the right amount of roses that didn't make this scent too floral or too sweet, nor over powering. Lovely bottle. I remember the scent lasting ages.

Deep vanilla with powdery rose on my skin. A bit amber, so I can stand it. I would expect better longevity and sillage.

I got this perfume yesterday and I like it. It smells of creamy roses that wraps around me and make me feel so good.

I have loved Yves Rocher fragrances since the 1980s. I wear vintage Diamella,Ispahan,Magnolia & Chevrefeuille. I'm afraid Rose Ispahan bears no similarity whatsoever to Ispahan. I had to wash it off after 30 mins as my head was thumping. It's far too much vanilla for me and I couldn't smell roses at all. It's one of those fragrances that overpowers other people nearby. I really don't like it at all. It reminded me of Tresor by Lancome & that gives me a headache too.

I don't know what happened here. My aunt bought this for me and before I removed the lid the color was already dark. Is it supposed to be dark? Then I opened it and the scent was like stale old ladies and cat urine. Perhaps it was very old when she purchased it. Now I use it to deodorize my trash bins.

I used to like this one, 10 years ago,but at that time i really liked,heavy sweet,vanille rose fragrances. Exactly what's this scent is all about. I still got a bottle of it, but now it's way to sweet for me. i don't like the vanilla in it,I'm more into musk,or classic perfumes these day's

This is a vanilla perfume, not rose. So utterly disappointed. Waste of money on this line. I bought six Yves Rochers. They are not worth it. Not even for $25. Mediocre at best. People in love with these don't have a nose and don't know fragrance.

I had it long time ago, and it was my signature perfume. I simply loved it. But now, my taste has changed and I don't think I could wear it again. It is simply to strong and sweet and oriental for me now.

Yves Rocher Rose Ispahan vintage EDT This perfume is an artistic interpretation of an Iranian dessert of the same name. Rose Ispahan was a dessert created in the 1700s. The dessert is layers of rose, raspberries and candied lychee sandwiched between 2 macaroons. The rose featured in Rose Ispahan – in both the dessert and in the perfume is a rose from Iran of the same name. 'Ispahan', also known as 'Pompon des Princes', is a clear pink, half-open kind of Damask rose (an early type, introduced from the Middle East in European breeding during the crusading 13th century) according to Wikipedia. This perfume opens very loudly, but like a burst of joy. Rather than raspberries, it opens like a pure rose absolute, covered in a bright, sugary mimosa and amber. The mimosa is candied and smells almost exactly like loquat jelly. This initial opening lasts about 1 hour and then the heart comes forward. The rose and loquat jelly is still very pronounced, but it softens just a bit and I get what I initially thought was white chocolate, but now, because of the recipe, it must be a fluffy vanilla note which was supposed to represent the almond macaroon. The drydown is a very softened rose/vanilla/amber with just a touch of spice and a candied patchouli. This is really the nicest, sweetest patchouli I’ve ever smelled. Honestly, it’s so complex and well blended, it’s hard to pick out notes. The only draw back is that the entire experience only lasts 2 hours. I know I will search out a bottle of the pure parfum. I am adding this to my top 5 favorite roses, and it would be in the running for my list of top 5 gourmands of all time. The rose notes and the mimosa notes are perfect, but the fact that it’s all candied makes this even better!

Yves Rocher's Rose Ispahan is a delicately soft, yet spiced, dessert gourmand that behaves like a hybrid of such other Yves Rocher scents as Ispahan and Cantate. While also being a fragrance suggestive of rose sharbat lokum (Turkish delight), or perhaps more directly, that famously delicious rose and fruit pastry filling, ...also named after the ancient Persian city of Isfahan. If one is familiar with the gently spiced rose oriental perfume, Cantate, then one might think of Rose Ispahan as a scent sharing many accords (perhaps literally so), but then richly overdosed with a strongly vanillic amber. One so sweet as to suggest caramel. Such a modification in the 1990s would have likely been one of many attempts to share in the gourmand success of Thierry Mugler's Angel. Modern lovers of the gourmand might be wise to rediscover this vintage gem, especially those that can appreciate Rose Ispahan's mien of antique gentility. A character that lends it some rare distinction amid the myriad sweet scents of today.

I have a 2.5oz bottle (about 85% full) that may be vintage ( the juice is golden in color and the writing is printed on the bottom of the bottle instead of a sticker) It's up for trade if anyone is interested. So..although I'm willing to trade I still think this is a beautiful scent. Like an above reviewer mentioned, it does smell like Loukouhm.....(Turkish Delight!) It has that rich,rosy, jellied sweetness that feels coated in soft, white powdered sugar. There's a note in there that makes me a little uncomfortable and that's why it's not a "love" for me....I think it's the Mimose. Other perfumes I have with Mimose give me that same trouble...it's a sort of "scratchy" sweetness...for lack of better description. If there was a bit of woodiness and it was heavier on the amber and clove, I think it could be love. I know how hard it is to find these days and how expensive it can be too so I think I'd prefer it to live with someone who really, really loved it.....could it be you?

This fragrance irradiates warmth and joy, it’s a smile during a sunny day. I wore it back then when still sold by Y es Rocher and in my recent quest for roses and again roses I decided to try one again from Ebay. It is exactly as I remembered, a joyful scent from the past. The rose is round and sweet, very playful but not at least cloying and all surrounded by a warm amber vanilla that makes it shine like a sunny day. If you are looking for a dark rose, dry and woody lime Lyric, Portrait of a Lady or then Middle Eastern roses, this is not it. But if you are looking for a happy rose, Tocade or Paris type of sparkle or rose loukoum this is it. Such a pity they discontinued it and don’t bring it back exactly as it was.

This is a unique, sweet vanilla/rose oriental combo. Very gourmand and edible. It reminds me of Hanae Mori infused with rose/strawberry steroids, but settling softer. It also reminds me of a strawberry shortcake dolls from the 80's, not only because I envision this being how strawberry shortcake smells, but also the soft plastic scent of the doll is evident within it too. Creamy, vanilla scented rose with an amber infusion spicy powder aura. Could be my new comfort scent, because I am reminded of children's dolls and comforting blankets when I put this on...My only critique though is that the lasting power could be better.

The shower gel and lotion of this perfume were really amazing. They don't make things like that anymore... The perfume hints to the modern Poussiere de Rose and to Midnight Rose. Vintage 'litter bros' are Versace Versus and Revlon Rouge. Red fruits+rose+lipstick, that's the flow. Nice, and, surprisingly, not that many perfumes trying to crack this combination, despite it being a crowd pleaser for sure. Not risky to get bottles, keeps well. But less lasting power regardless of how well kept the bottle is.

I used this as a pre-teen in a small Finnish municipality!🥹😄 I have a very distinct scent memory of it, even though this was somewhat 25+ years ago. The longevity was good, they don’t make them this strong anymore. Rose and vanilla with more rose, if I remember correctly. A warm fragrance with a slight spicyness, maybe not for an adolescent 🥳 but for someone who likes vintage Yves Rocher and warm rose scents.

Just bought an old bottle of this on ebay, been on a hunt for old Yves Rocher perfumes lately lol, I never had this one before, bought it based on reviews. It is a sweet vanilla and rose smell... pleasant and strong enough to satisfy my need for loud perfumes lol. Someone mentioned Tocade and yes, I can see the resemblance to Tocade. Lovely scent. Very happy and arm at the same time, puts a smile on my face.

Celebrity89 was right when she said that Cherry Vanilla smells almost exactly like Rose Ispahan...in fact...I love reading her reviews because she always has very good comparisons! I have both perfumes and side by side they are extremely similar. I've already given my review on Rose Ispahan a while back....still have it too if someone is into a U.S. trade.

This Rose is definitely one warm sweet deep spiced oriental vanilla masterpiece !!!Wearing this travels me to the desert ..red rocks and beige warm sand !I get the image of Petra's Palace in Jordan! This perfume is my best of rose ! The "desert rose"!!!I LOVE it!

A true vintage, 90s Gourmand. The kind I like, not overly saccharine like nowadays. Has some classic Ipsahan DNA spice to it. Almost YSL Opium spice buried deep past rich vanilla and dark rose. A beautiful perfume.

I have this perfume and the body spray and find it to be a bit overpowering. I love all things vanilla and this is the kind to spray ahead and then walk through and it is more than enough.

Complex, mysterious, decadent. I would have never known there was a rose there. It's too complex to pick out a rose. It has a lot of texture and darkness to me.

If you cannot find this anywhere, I think Cherry Vanilla by Parfume di Vanille is very close. You can find it at WalMart.
