Sel d'Azur

I got it, and stored it away, because it was toooo sour for my taste, and I put it up for give-away or sale. After some months, I dared to test it again, and, wow, I was so wrong about it, still it's very sour, but, I can cope with it's sourness, it's kinda Escada-like, and much juicy and fruity. Yes, there is this grapefruit-thing in it, and something else, it very summery, and fresh, and it fades away very quick, so, you can overspray yourself again, over and over, me and my clothes and envaironment smells wonderfulll, I think people will foreget about the one meter rules nowadays, absolutely everybody can use it, for this beauty, in it's class and price, I give it 10/10 pronto. No joke, when I sprayed this on today in my bedroom (door nearly closed btw), 3 times on the inner part of my left forearm, my mom smelt it from the living room. A whole 8 meters away. The projection right when you spray it is insane but the longevity is mediocre. My mom has a bottle so I use it from time to time. I'm a guy btw. So yeah I'd recommend this if you're still in school, maybe like the beginning of the year, spray this before you go in you classroom, everyone will smell it. And I recommend 8-12 sprays just everywhere ig

Bought a 30 ml bottle of this without testing. I was thinking about the time when I can travel to the Mediterranean and enjoy this little freshie in it's natural habitat. It's a lot like Armani Aqua di Gioia in my opinion, maybe a bit softer, not having that sharp mint note in it. I live by the Baltic sea now, literally, watching the sea from my windows..if the summer is going to be warm, I will definitely wear Sel D'Azur also here in my new home. This scent is for those who love the sea breeze.

I just love this! I cannot think of a negative thing to say, it has been my go-to scent for several weeks now. Longevity is not the best, but I really do not mind topping up the sprays one or two times during the day. With citrus-forward fragrances we cannot cheat physics and make the smaller citrus molecules stay just like huge vanilla or patchouli molecules, so all it fair, especially for the price. Female-leaning unisex in my opinion

I tried it and immediately bought 2 bottles of the biggest size. This is the softest and classiest citrus perfume to ever exist. Not screechy like those mandarin and bergamot combo in men sporty perfume. I adore the vetiver which adds just the right amount of green to tame the juiciness of the grapefruit. Wear this almost every day for half a year already and cannot stop loving it!

This is a summer scent. Salty, mineral, citrus, and fresh. It has an intimate sillage and doesnt last long. But the scent is very forgiving and tropical. More on unisex to masculine. The vetiver brings all the notes together.

Smells nice, very citrusy and fresh. I reminds me of summer in Italy. I tested it in a magazine (old school, you have to rub your wrist against the page haha) and I knew I had to get it.

This scent is perfect for a hot summer. It's fresh, watery, salty and has something special about it - it's not a typical aquatic simple scent.

I love this smell a lot. Its so fresh and reminds me of sipping citrus drink by the Bali beach .

Should anyone ever remember the first ever batches of Calvin Klein's CK One,back in 1995-96..Well.. THIS IS THAT!!! A friend wanted to swap this with me, I didn't know it so went to a local Yves Rocher, found it, sprayed it, and.. BAM! All those memories of my youth came right back! And CK One in 1996 was my first ever bottle of designer perfume I ever bought - and this in Vantaa, Helsinki, from my pocket money - so I know and I remember quite well what I'm talking about! I still have that bottle kept too, would you believe.. 😄 Mind you, I have absolutely no idea what CK One smells like now, if it still exists at all.. But the answer is YES, it is indeed unisex, still in my opinion and on my skin chemistry it's still leaning a teeny-tiny bit towards feminine, it is soft, fresh, citrusy. I wouldn't really call this sea-spray - to me that's Eau de Rochas - but it is definitely more suitable for warmer climate or summery days. Lasts around 5-6 solid hours on my skin so actually in my book it's good performance. A very pleasant surprise!

This is a simplistic fragrance with a crisp, clean masculine citrus blast in the opening after about half an hour the scent develops into this white floral scent into the mid but I didn't see any of those listed in the breakdown while the citrus note took a step back, that's where the scent gets it's unisex characteristic. I personally don't get any salty nuances from the fragrance but I think you will get the cedar and vetiver note once the fragrance dries down. It is safe for me to say that this is an easy scent to use and definitely wouldn't offend the people around you. Good for hotter weather where you just need a fresh scent which has a moderate performance. Overall this is a 5/10 scent. Recommended for days where you just need a simple yet pleasant fragrance. We do need one of those sometimes don't we.

I love this kind of light, salty, slightly unisex citrus fragrance splashes in the summer. It starts with a vibrant, happy grapefruit/citrus note, and it is salty from beginning to end, I don't understand why salt or marine notes are not listed among the notes. Longevity and sillage is weak, but you can of course spray it again and again, it is so refreshing! But I really don't like the bottle design, it looks like some medicine bottle, and I really hate that cheap black plastic cap. For me it is very important to feel joy and excitement when holding a bottle of perfume, and with this bottle I feel the need to clean my windows...meh. Get a new designer! I might buy it once it is really on sale, with full price I find it quite overprices, you can get better quality and nicer bottle for this price!

I have been using this now for the second summer, solidifying my opinon from last year: a simple, linear but really nice summer fragrance! Definitely unisex. It's saltiness gives the marine vibes, nicely complimented with citrus notes but not too lemony and a strong cedar base. It works like a cologne but is definitely better lasting than many other much higher priced fragrances of this category (JM Wood Sage &Sea Salt, I am looking at you!). I like that it is not sweet and not too aquatic, the cedar and salt notes clearly dominate. At this price point it is really unbeatable and a safe blind buy if you are looking for a simple unisex summer cologne. (Not that it matters so much but the black plastic cap is really ugly....)

Edit. I tried it again today with more sunny weather, and I'm enjoying it a lot more than first time. The aquatic note is more tempered in the warmth of May sun, and the whole vibe is now a chilled lemon ice-tea. Perfect for going to the pool. I got this one earlier this year together with few others from the same line, and this one was my least favorite. It was kinda faint aquatic with a Davidoff Cool Water vibe, while I thought it would be more citrusy. I did follow @sistermoon's advice and layered it with a puff of Chloe, to add some rose and flowers, and now it makes sense. The effect is really nice, they both complement each other nicely, but it's not extremely unique, lots of clean-calming-floral's out there.

Light, Fresh, and Perfect for Humid Weather I absolutely love the light and refreshing scent of Sel d’Azur. Living in a tropical, humid area, this fragrance gave me a much-needed fresh and airy feeling without ever feeling heavy or greasy—perfect for warm climates. However, the longevity is not its strong suit. On my skin, it lasts only 2-3 hours, which I believe is due to the nature of its notes. The citrusy opening is bright and uplifting, but the woody undertones don’t seem to anchor the scent for very long. Still, for a light, breezy, and clean fragrance in hot weather, it’s a wonderful pick if you don’t mind reapplying.

I was very surprised by this fragrance when i first discovered it. It's a simple but yet refined scent. A salty fresh marine fragrance with hints of grapefruit and a light vetiver base. The price point is fantastic. For less than 25€/100ml you get a quite unique and high quality fragrance and with a, surprisingly, great longevity on skin. My girlfriend wore a full bottle and every single time she wore it, when she arrive home, i would still smell this fragrance. Never thought it would last but it lasts. So, if you want a salty fresh fragrance, with good performance and a inexpensive price, consider getting this one.

I'm a long-time Yves Rocher fan. I almost ordered this one blindly, but decided to get a sample instead, and I'm glad I tried it first. It's nice, but compared to the YR of old, this is pretty boring. It's a very simple "blue" fragrance. I have smelled drug store body sprays that are on the same level. In fact, this one reminds me of a water lily deodorant spray I owned about fifteen years ago that cost about $3. There's nothing wrong with the fragrance, but I would never buy it at this price. It's nothing special, and I expect far better from Yves Rocher.

Easy and reliable citrus cologne. It can easily pass as a men's cologne a la Mugler cologne, especially in the opening minutes and the vetiver-white musk drydowwn. What sets Sel d'Azur into unisex territory is its florals, namely rose, violet and jasmine, that gives the classic Nivea lotion note lingering all the way. I quite like it, reminds me of 90's floral citrus creations. Oh and whenever you see someone trying to make a point by statements like "at least it's from natural ingredients", please ignore them. Greenwashing shall not win in cosmetics.

Slightly aquatic and rather simplistic, this seems to be the new approach at YR: reduced, quiet, you could also call it "minimalist". In this case we have a grapefruit-note, a faint whiff of salt and a tiny bit of ambroxan in the base. The opening is refreshing (and the best part of the scent), which will probably appeal to many people in summer. I received the bottle as a free gift when I ordered some cosmetics from YR's website. Will make a nice addition to my summer wardrobe, but I don't think I'd repurchase.

Got it for free as a gift to a YR order! Well, not bad, very very fresh, suitable for a hot day in summer. Although it is not listed, i can smell some floral in the middle, but all together a vey nice summer scent. 100% unisex, although i think it is more on the masculine side! Blind buy....why not, it is very pleasant and summery! Overall 7,5/10

Nice enough citrus scent with a slight aquatic note. I tried it first in cold weather, and the aquatic note was quite sickening. I put it away for warmer days, and was pleasantly surprised. There is nothing complex about this scent, as many have said before me, but it's clean, fresh and does the trick when you just need some summery refreshments.

It's a nice sea side type of perfume. You get fresh notes, salty fresh air... it's a basic citrus cologne. It's light and not offensive... nice perfume to have in your beach bag... to refresh a little. It makes me think of walking in the south of France under pine trees with the cicada all around. It's a cute smell.

I like it. It's fine for very hot summer days, but that's it, that's the only scenario for this fragrance. I'm not a citrus fan so that is why I don't wanna spend much money on a citrus fragrance, because it's not my cup of tea. So this one is ok for the price, but it is very basic also.

I really like this fragrance! When you spray it, you get an immediate boost of grapefruit energy, like an expresso made of summer. The longevity is pretty short for me, but that's not what I have this perfume for. It's an instant "mood boost" for days when you need it.

Better than yves rocher - naturelle. A salesperson in yves rocher said to me "this one is same naturelle but edp version" yes they remind each other but idk. To me, this perfume like ck-in2u but more citrusy version. I like it. When my in2u finishes, i'll buy it.

honestly i quite like this. it is indeed salty but it has depth and also sweetness from the grapefruit. when i wasnt into perfume i got this in my advent calendar and it was my favorite because it didnt smell like typical women's perfumes. it is quite unisex.

I usually love citrus and woody, almost all my perfumes are similar in ingredients, but after a week or so this specific one gave me strong headaches. I haven't used it pretty much ever since then.

A composition that sparkles with the joy of light, refreshing citrus notes. Fleeting and ethereal, they quickly reveal the warm, pleasantly woody base.

It is a very fresh summer fragrance but also unisex. I like it's longevity. It stays roughly 3 hours on my skin and 6-7 hours on the cloths.

Salty version of Aquawoman by Rochas, but it's also quite lovely! If only it had better performance (longevity)

I received it as a gift from YR, and as soon as I opened and sprayed it, I knew it was rather a unisex smell. There are so many unisex fragrances within YR range (Sel d'Azur, Sable Fauve, Bois de Cèdre, Voile d'Ocre etc.) that they advertise rather as male or female, I am not sure why. I can say that this one is like a more prominent and masculine version of female DG Light Blue, with added strong citrus zest. Reminds me "bois de cedre et citron vert" from YR too. I'll certainly share it with my husband. Would be a nice after-shower addition, a gym scent, or something to use during 27C+ when you do not want to smell something complicated. I'd probably not buy it intentionally, as I prefer more complex and built-up smells even if they are citrusy and fresh. But as a gift, this falls into "why not" category.

I don't know about you, but what I get is grapefruit, lemon, and salt. There may also be some florals in the back too but they're less noticeable. I get Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue pour homme vibe, but not the accursed intense version. I think this one is very similar, though it doesn't last as long. However, given the price, I think Sel d'Azur makes much more sense - if you're into citrusy salty summery fragrances, that is. A solid summer fragrance, if you're into salty and citrusy vibes. Dry down is rather beautiful. I get some white florals there.

From the notes ans the similars, I thought I would love this. I do get a beautiful seaside background, but then, smack bam in front of all that: balloons.

Simple citrus scent for the citrus lovers.

Salty and citrusy on a very strong cedar base, it's very unisex, slightly masculine in my opinion. If you are generous with the sprays, the longevity and the projection is great - I had a little left on the bottom of the bottle and I wanted to get it over and I over-oversprayed, I ended up having dreams around the smell in my sleep (strange times 😂), it was that strong. All in all it's an excellent choice for summer for those who like the salty fresh scents. For me it's a pass - I will not repurchase it, it isn't among my favorite scent profiles.

Would it be possible to smell a FRESH perfume and feel nauseous? In general, we can have this reaction to perfumes that are too milky, too sweet, too heady...but FRESH? Unfortunatly, this is my reaction to this perfume. Probably the overdose of grapefruit (with the vetiver), because I love the cedarwood note in perfumes! 3/10

I usually love Yves Rocher perfumes, so I got this one as a gift from someone who knows that I like the brand. Unfortunately, this perfume was absolutely not for me. To me, it smelled like a very strong ocean-scented shampoo or shower gel. It was too salty and too sour for my taste. I usually like sweet scents or perfumes that feel well blended and harmonious, and this one felt very sharp and unpleasant to me. The notes didn’t come together at all, and it even gave me headaches. Luckily, my sister liked it. She enjoys ocean-like, fresh scents, and it worked much better on her skin than on mine, so I gave it to her. I would never buy this perfume myself, and I wouldn’t recommend it to people who enjoy florals, sweet scents, or smooth, blended perfumes. It just didn’t work for me at all

It's almost transparent. I'm digging my nose but can't smell much. I sprayed it both on a card and on my arm. I get something fruity. Maybe unripe nectarine? Can't really tell! This one is a ghost to my nose!

This is a very pleasant fragrance, and probably the only one among the new YR Eau de Parfum offerings that is truly unisex. Moreover, this is the only scent in this collection where the official pyramid is actually correct. It opens with a juicy grapefruit note, and then gradually incorporates sandalwood and vetiver (plus some chemicals that hold it all together - most likely Iso E Super and such). Due to this solid base, the fragrance is quite long lasting, although it quickly turns into a skin scent. This is a safe everyday scent, which can be worn all year round, but it's probably most appropriate for the summer.

Agree this is probably the only unisex offering from the new YR Parfum range. I received a free sample with my last order and couldn't wait to try it out. Oh no. Going by the notes pyramid this could have been a wonderful scent, and the idea of iso e super mentioned in the previous review had me salivating before even trying. Sadly I find this fragrance has an aquatic-green twist that I find hard to stomach. At least the sample saved me from blind buying. (If you buy online at YR they currently let you choose 3 free samples of these new fragrances.)

I always knew those fragrances are not very good quality, just something to please yourself while morning procedures, it doesn't dry up really, doesn't open much. But it's quite pleasant and cheap so no harm to try.. sort of like shower gel but in a perfume product, the class of the scent goes that way too. I only gave it a try because of Sebastian Jara's review of 3 other YR fragrances, I was quite surprised by his positivity. Ok Nouveau Genre is on my list to try! This one goes to my citrus loving relative!

Agree with most here about the simplistic composition of this scent and disappointment that Yves Rocher is no longer producing the wonderfully complex fragrances they used to. The reason they may no longer be able to create complex fragrance compositions is due to new laws forbidding various fragrance ingredients so, for anyone truly wanting more complex fragrances or duplicates I guess we are all on our own to learn how to blend fragrances and oils to really get what we want!

Brief first review: I'm frustrated about YR discontinuing some of their better fragrances and this new line is quite mediocre and anonymous to my nose. However, this particular perfume is pleasant (after the initial 15 minutes which are the stuff of nightmares, bugspray amped x10) and it has a very impressive longevity! Applied at 1 PM, it's 7.15 PM and it's definitely still there. Actually, I have Alien on my other wrist, applied at the same time, and it's gone. Go figure.

This is a salty musk with cedar. It has a soft aquatic note that doesn't make me queasy like true aquatics do. It's a simple, quite basic musky fragrance that doesn't wow, but I specifically wanted to test this for layering. Goes amazingly with rose centered florals such as YR Rose Absolue. It adds another dimension to a scent. Salty kind of muskiness. And on those days when I want a no-fuss clean smelling fragrance this fits the bill on its own.

Absolutely love this scent! At first, it smells like a dupe of D&G Light Blue but as it develops, it actually becomes even more interesting and complex. A surprise, considering it's from Yves Rocher - I basically gave up on their perfumes for being a sweet, vanilla-heavy, cloying, headache-inducing mess. But I got this one as a sample and fell in love! Very fresh, citrusy and a little spicy to keep things interesting. Very French. Ooh la la!

This is a nice, simple scent. Reminds me of an aquatic perfume I used to own called Bliss. It is mainly aquatic and citrus. Nice, if that is your scent preference. For me personally, aquatics tend to induce headaches for me. So overall, I am not interested in this scent, though I received a sample set of this collection, and I enjoyed being able to try it. Also, I can still smell it on my wrists next day!

I think Yves Rocher has some hidden gems for daytime wear. They don't win in the sillage department or longevity department. With that said I wear these more like a body mist that I can refresh throughout the day. This is a pleasant fragrance to wear running daytime errands or even to the gym. Very similar to Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue but a touch warmer with a subtle cedar-y note.

The mineral-aquatic notes place this in the same ballpark as Alien Mirage and Fijian Lotus. If you don’t like these two, maybe you won’t appreciate Sel d’Azur either. Sel d’Azur feels more salty-citrusy-powdery in comparison (grapefruit on salty pebbles and not as much sweetness), which means that if you are on a kick - then it’s a fun addition to explore.
