So Elixir Eau de Parfum

Yves Rocher So Elixir EDP is heaven for those who enjoy patchouli done with golden depth and sublime balance. I had Chanel Coco Mademoiselle EDT on today from a spray sample vial just to compare the two. I prefer So Elixir over CCM, and yes, there is a similarity. YR SE is slightly dry from the patchouli, mysterious due to the incense, alluring due to the rose/jasmine combination, and sweetly feminine due to the tonka. I want to believe the advertising that says YR puts real essential oils and botanicals into this and other YR fragrances. There is something smooth and natural about this fragrance. I'd say... non-chemical. I know it isn't free of chemicals. I have read that this may be discontinued. That's a tragedy. If you love SE, please explore the flankers Purple (tuberose) and Bois Sensuel (vanilla and iris). I agree with a previous reviewer that these are harder to come by and certainly higher priced than they were a year ago.

Whoa! Back up the bus! How is it that I've just discovered this gem now? I can't get enough of this. It makes my mouth water and is seductive at the same time. I can't decide if it SFW or not yet, so I better not to play it safe. This stuff is dreamy. In fact, I've sprayed my sheets with it so it can soothe me to sleep tonight. This is one I will be reaching for again and again! And I just when it couldn't get any better, it does. I got a full sized bottle for free with my order! I figured it would be a good way to try it out. If it wasn't for me I'd give it away, but this will be with me for years to come I'm sure. I just love it. A real departure from my SFW vanillas.

While I don't find this identical to Coco Mademoiselle, I do find it lovely. At first blast, I smell something very familiar to Coco Mad; must be the way the patchouli comes off because this doesn't have nearly as much citrus as Coco. The drydown is totally different IMHO. The drydown of Coco is more powdery and musky while this one is more creamy tonka bean. Overall, a beautifully done fragrance. If you like Coco Mad EDP or EDT I really think you will like this. Very unique and not identical but similar enough that I think it would be safe if you like either of those and different enough that owning both is also worth it.

Sacrilegous but I think this is way better than Coco Madamoiselle. So Elixir edp is cheap, but you get all the elements of an excellent fragrance. Development, Depth, Sillage, Longevity and that intangible quality of being able to alter/enhance your mood. This is one of the best floral chypres. Smooth, luxe, velvety. Reminds me of Paris, and not because it is found in every street corner/ metro station in that wonderful city, but because just like Paris, there is something in this fragrance that would never get old.

So Elixir might be something I buy next fall. It is a wonderful, sensual scent, didn't expect to like it but I actually love it. Patchouli and incence bring some exotic, dark flavor to this scent. This is inexpensive but smells like any design scent.

This fragrance is growing on me. To me So Elixir by Yve Rocher is a lush old-school oriental, though it's classified as a chyphre. It reminds me of Tourjours Moi by Coty, which I wore in the 1970s.....Both scents wear best in autumn/winter.

it's similar to Chanel Coco Mademoiselle my favorite, but i love this one more than Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. Not only it's cheaper but also it smells more adorable i can't believe how come it can replace my previous fave parfume haha !

It's indeed an Elixir. The scent is pretty strong, partchouli and jasmine are intensive. The tonka bean makes it a bit sweeter. I personnaly love it. Heavy and strong, only for fall/winter. I believe to be very French.

I never thought I would like this one, because my impression of Chanel Mademoiselle wasn t a good one, but this one smells great on my skin, it has good sillage and good longevity. I will repurchase!

Cheap price in France. Very good fragrance full of feminity. Flowery and sugared. Realy good longevity and sillage.

Me too also got this so very beautiful perfume now. It reminds me of Miss Dior Cherie of Dior and Si of Armani.

This one is unusual for YR - a very untypical scent for those who know YR fragrances well: I almost thought WOW, but only almost: I recalled COCO M and yeah, it's indeed about 80% the same , and YR are simply missing those 20% of edge and class in their bottle. It has an upbeat fizzy note that makes it energizing, it is versatile in terms of evening- or daywear ( daywear strictly in autumn/winter imho), it is very grownup and ladylike but not old-ladyish ( thanks to jasmin perhaps ) and it stays close to the skin - all good, but it is still missing that elusive special something and I feel awfully bored wearing it. Way too simple and obvious, almost tacky - especially after one has tried Yvresse or COCO M. My husband liked it though and even graced me with a compliment ( which is a very rare occasion in his case when it comes to perfumes ). Nevertheless, I will not be buying it again for its obvious lack of character.

My third review from my small collection and at last, one that doesn’t have a squillion notes in it! Initially I smell the bergamot & patchouli, and then at around 15min jasmine and something sweet (I’m guessing the tonka beans). At this point this lovely sultry fragrance has an arm’s length projection. Longevity update @ 3 hours; to my nose I’m still getting a soft almost vanilla-like note - with said nose about an inch away from skin. At around 5 hours, So Elixir is completely gone. I am happy to own a bottle (brand new EDP) of this and will wear it as a casual daytime fragrance ... though I will probably not repurchase when it has finished.

I can smell the similarity to Coco Mademoiselle. This one is like a sweeter version of it though. Coco Mademoiselle is a litte more spicy. However, there is one big difference; the longevity, which I find really poor unfortunately... I can spray on So Elixir and then after an hour or so it's almost completely gone, whereas with Coco Mademoiselle it lasts at least a day, sometimes even longer. Such a pity cause I really LOVE the smell of So Elixir as well!

I like this one. First I get no similarity to any other scents but as the time goes by it changes to something that really gets my attention. First it brings in the similarity to Coco Mademoiselle, then about an hour later I get Miss Dior and then finally Jennifer Lopez Still comes out to play! So as I like all three of these I can't help but wonder why I haven't bought this?! It can be heavy at times but it gets lighter.

Earlier I had EDP, now I have EDT and from this two I prefer EDT. Why? It's more subtle - it smells, not hit in the nose. It was very long lasting but unfortunatelly scent was to strong for me, sometimes even giving me headache. Scent is very joyfull and sunny, I liked it very much. I'm happy that Yves Rocher created EDT so I can still have a little sun in a bottle :)

I got this from my sister, a few month ago, but I haven ́t really come around to try it before now. I sprayed at little on my hand, and I can ́t stop sniffing my own hand. It ́s this lovely patchouli, bergamotte, with a wif of Vanilla. I guess the vanilla comes from the Tonka beans. But it ́s really lovely, and just what I need in this quarantine, Corona time.

Just after application, well yes it reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle but it's sharper. After a while when it settles on skin it becomes a beautiful and delicate aroma. And the base is just like warm jasmine tea with rose petals. Very feminine. Very nice. It wasn't love at first sight but now I really love So Elixir. I would use it with pleasure.

Another beautiful bottle, gradually sandblasted. It's details like this that make me fall in love with objects or books... or perfumes. Lovely, beautiful scent! Quite different from the Elixir Purple, still sensual, intense, full of personality. Paired with the body lotion it's long, long lasting. A great choice for my wardrobe!
