Vanille Bourbon 2016

Review for the new "Perfumed Mist with Bourbon Vanilla" or "Brume Parfumée à la Vanille Bourbon" as I didn't find this is the database. (Feel free to move my review.) I absolutely love this! I had bought this to try and it wowed me at first whiff! It's a creamy, burnt sugar, candied mandarine, powdery vanilla that seems to have some white florals in the background. It somehow manages to be powdery, feminine and cozy, yet keep a juicy, light feel as well. To me the best vanilla perfume Yves Rocher has done so far! I didn't love some of the previous ones and they had that "chocolate milk" scent and some not so safe ingredients. This one is elegant and the ingredients are safe. I have worn this non-stop since I got it three weeks ago and I'm enjoying it so much! I just wish it came as an edp as sillage and longevity are moderate. It reminds me of the 2002 version of Dior Addict edp, that mandarine - white flower - vanilla combo that's sweet yet fresh. Edit to say that a male colleague stood next to me at work and started to sniff the air saying: "Hmm, what smells so great?" And he kept sniffing until he found the source, my neck, where he then nodded approvingly saying that it was "really good". So maybe the sillage is better than I think ;-))

This is my favourite vanilla so far. It's slightly powdery, almost fresh, reminds me of vanilla flavoured icing sugar but in a warm, comforting way. Sometimes powdery notes can feel dry and cold but this is only soft and smooth. This doesn't have any caramel-like notes in it that some very buttery vanillas do. It's just a beautifully simplistic vanilla. I don't have a signature scent but if I had to choose one, it would probably be this. Longevity isn't too great, this only lasts for a couple of hours on me, but that is to be expected from this bargain. This is a frugal gem for vanilla lovers.

I hate Yves Rocher , why ? Because they just decided to discontinue this fragrance ! and started selling the useless hair and body mist as a replacement .. I can say that I tried all Vanilla Bourbon verions Yves Rocher had, I loved all the versions, I am a vanilla person because of them, I discovered my love towards vanilla notes because of this fragrance.. it's just so selfish to stop producing this masterpiece, and I am disappointed. I wish Yves Rocher reconsider their decision , and discontinue the current junky hair and body mist and reproduce this one..

Can you imagine a world without any vanilla? -Neither can I. I'm a succer for vanilla, and you know, some perfumes are special, and so is this: -I could swim in a vanilla sauce, and I think I will be there in that river to the end of the world, ehh, but I also would love to bring along "a little bit more" from Dr. Hook, "and when your body is here, I 'm gonna love you a little bit more..." This little beauty turns me on, I just wish I had a bigger bottle of this beautiful perfume!!!

Good sillage and longetivity! Such a good product for this price! There are much more expensive EDTs with poorer sillage and longetivity. I'm pleasently surprised! And the scent is so wonderful! Sweet and calming. Suitable for both day and night and for all seasons! I definitely recommend it! It lasts 12 + hours on my skin! I'm amazed!

Very realistic, not synthetic bourbon vanilla, simple but pretty, longevity on my skin is very good (almost 6 hours). If you are looking for good vanilla fragrance, just try this one ;-)

I think this one is way much sweeter than the old version. It's intoxicating. I feel sorry for it because I really liked the old one.

Comparing it to the previous version, this vanilla seems tangier. The opening definitely smells like mandarin orange to me, chased by a nondescript white flowers vibe. The rest is more or less the same - warm, dry vanilla bourbon that smells more woody than foody, but still delicious, with chocolate connotations. I feel like a honey and cocoa biscuit in a a neat wooden box when I wear it. Even though it is sweet, it stays as transparent as rice paper. Longevity and sillage are excellent and this little budget scent has gathered me many compliments.

The scent reminds of the smell of a sauna by a lake / campfire. <--- spray smells very fine. Vanilla in beautiful form. Sweet vanilla. Fades mostly - may stay as skin scent, mild and gentle. I love it. It would be even better, if it was just a bit heavier. On the other hand, one needs sometimes lighter perfume.

For some reason, this does not read as vanilla at all to me. Perhaps it's because I would expect that french vanilla icecream vibe? Instead, this smells more like toffee rum and dries down to a more woody cookie quality. Not what I expected, but very delicious :)

I pretty much agree with Dimma on this one: this is more of a woody toffee caramel scent, with a hint of boozy vibe to it, than just a pure vanilla. And like LuluCoconut put it: definitly more woody than foody. That is characteristic for a Bourboun type of vanilla. I love simple vanilla ice cream like foody vanillas (yes, I'm pretty much a gourmand lover) and Vanille Bourbon simply does not do it for me. I understand that this one has a lot of fans, since YR keeps producing this year after year after year. And that is great: the fact that we all have different tastes is amazing, otherwise this world would be a pretty boring place. Yet I'm hoping YR would come up with another alternative vanilla for us gourmand lovers. Vanille Blanche, which was launched for Xmas two years ago was pretty good. Also this year's Xmas launch Nuit Vanille is a pretty nice gourmandy type of vanilla. So could you please hear me YR: Keep one of these limited edition gourmand vanillas in your collection all year round, will you? Of if that's not possible, please create a new vanilla scent for us gourmad lovers. Thank you!

I was disappointed with this one. Very woody and a bit too masculine for me.

This is a nice, rich, cookie vanilla. A gourmand for sure, IMO. I have the body & hair spray, and it lasts all day even though it's a light scent! It's not in my top 5 vanilla favorites, but it's definitely a keeper for my collection!! It's very similar to the popular Outremer Vanilla scent. *Update-Second time wearing this one, I do get a citrus or orange note peeking through! It's barely there, but it's there! I would say it's primarily showing up in the top and middle notes. This is still a true vanilla bourbon scent, but with the smallest citrus note. It's something extra that separates this from other bourbon vanillas. Also, my husband thought this smelled great! So definitely I will be keeping it!

You don't know how much I miss this perfume. Unfortunately, they stopped selling Vanille Bourbon perfume and I had to buy the body mist. The perfume was much better than the mist and lasted longer on my skin. It was one of my favourite perfumes when I was at secondary school... Please comeback.

To me, this is a citrusy bourbon vanilla. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't like it as much on my skin, which is weird as I love vanilla, however I use it as a room/wardrobe spray and I like it a lot for that.

This is a boozy Vanilla but not heavy or cloying. Great to wear alone or layer, either way, happy with this Vanilla scent. I agree with GreenOcean, there's some hidden white chocolate in there, too.

I got confirmation on Yves Rocher in France that Vanille Bourbon just got discontinued. Stock up while you can.

Accidentally let this macerate in a drawer for ~10 years. Smells absolutely divine.
