Black Opium Glitter

Beautiful, sweet, warm, powdery, floral, musky, fruity, citrusy, smooth, fluffy, rich, sexy, feminine, sensual, seductive, sultry, chic, classy, sophisticated, mysterious, intoxicating, delicious, cozy, comforting On me this opens bright, fruity, and fresh with syrupy pear, bright and citrusy green mandarin and lemon. As it begins drying down the soft citrusy floral heart of orange blossom takes center stage. Once it has dried down the orange blossom is then wrapped in a soft and fluffy blanket of warm and sensual vanilla, a gentle touch of rich and slightly earthy coffee, sweet, fluffy, and powdery marshmallow, soft and powdery musk, and just a whisper of patchouli. The notes that are the most prominent on me are the pear, orange blossom, vanilla, coffee, and marshmallow. I absolutely love this! I’m not a huge fan of the OG, however I do really love the Le Parfum and Glitter flankers (I do own all 3 of them). Glitter is not as dark as the OG, it’s a lighter, softer more fluffy version of Black Opium, that’s even a bit brighter feeling too. Instead of straight black coffee, this is a sweet vanilla latte with marshmallows, which I really love. It has a nice depth and darkness to it, but definitely not as much as the OG. I think the best way to describe Glitter may be to say that it’s like a combination of PDM Oriana and the OG Black Opium. This feels feminine to me, and like it would suit women of any age. This is the flanker that would work best during the warmer weather, although I still prefer it best for the colder months, or for nighttime wear during the warmer months. I think this is suitable for basically all occasions, from casual, to work and/or school, to date nights and fancier occasions. I get excellent performance with Black Opium Glitter. The longevity is great, it lasts throughout the entire day on me. The projection is really good, it radiates out at least a few feet from me. I’m a huge fan of marshmallow and vanilla fragrances, so this is the perfect flanker for me. For me, this is a perfect balance between gourmand and floral. I would like to note, that the actual scent notes don't include marshmallow AND musk, but rather a single note of marshmallow musk; this means that there isn't supposed to be a true marshmallow note in the perfume, like one would find in something like Kayali's Boujee Marshmallow. While the coffee and marshmallow musk notes aren't overly distinct, they help soften the floral and citrusy notes. The marshmallow musk provides sweetness and a gentle base to settle into, while the citrus notes brighten and lift the scent to be overall more traditionally "fun" and "girly." As someone who doesn't love the original Black Opium, largely due to the darker scent notes, this flanker provides a fun, lighter version with a very similar vibe. I usually prefer perfumes with jasmine or tuberose, but the orange blossom acts as a perfect in-between to really meld the citrus and gourmand notes without losing the core of either one, while still providing that traditional floral airiness. It reminds me of what a cafe flower shop would smell like.

If you are expecting the marshmallow note to be slightly vanillic and sugary, you are not going to find it in this perfume. When I first tested it, I decided to have no expectations, considering the huge amount of negative reviews, and tried to see it as a perfume on its own. What I detect is not really marshmallow, but rather the smell of a lemon and meringue pie, mixed with some flowers and some cappuccino. I like the smell of the lemon and meringue pie, so I could not dislike it in this fragrance. This flanker has a pretty good longevity on my skin (6-7 hours), compared to other Black Opium versions and it becomes quite similar to the OG after 3-4 hours. I think my 30 ml bottle is enough for a while and, if I consider a repurchase, the next bottle will be another 30 ml one. LE: I had the feeling I had experienced this scent before, but I didn't know exactly where and how. Then I realized what fragrance it is similar to: Sotto Voce by Laura Biagiotti, the fragrance I was using as a high school girl ( 1996-2000). I loved it and I was very sorry when it was no longer produced.

I’ve never loved the Black Opium line, but I LOVE this. I’m not a gourmand fan, but the opening is amazing perfect marshmallow, just sweet enough, with a bit of florals, fruity citrus, and I get just enough of the coffee note as well 🤌 The drydown is dominantly citrus, a little coffee, just a tiny hint of marshmallow-y sweetness. It’s addictive, I’m so excited to wear this with the Super Milk hair primer from Lush😍. One thing I dislike is that it’s STRONG and overpowering at first spray, but then it wears down somewhat quickly. One spray filled my nose, I mean almost suffocating, making me scared that I over sprayed. I thought it was going to be beastmode longevity. Now, 4 hours later, I can barely smell it on the skin. Haven’t tried it on fabric yet. The bottle and the packaging is lovely. This fragrance makes me feel like a real bougie baddie cool lady 😛😚. I love this soooo much, just wish the strength and longevity was more dependable.

Let me confess that Black Opium line was never my favourite and I don’t own any bottle. On the other hand, Black Opium Glitter was love at first sniff and I am beyond happy I have finally a Black Opium bottle in my collection that I absolutely adore 🎀 Black Opium Glitter smells like diving into marshmallows. All the shades of pink fluffy powdery marshmallows. Pretty sweet, creamy velvety vanilla and powdery sugared marshmallows, that as it dries smells better and better. Glitter is less floral than the original, more sweet and I personally don’t get at all the coffee note on my skin which is amazing because I didn’t enjoy the coffee note at the original. I have seen some reviews mentioning that smells very close to the original and I definitely disagree. Yes, the Black opium dna exists at Glitter, as we are talking for a flanker, but it is at the background.

I know Black Opium gets a lot of hate, and that is fine. To me, the original is okay, but I've enjoyed the "flankers" more. This flanker - Glitter, being my fave to wear, I think. The subtle sweetness in this is SO good. I needed to say, after blowing through a small bottle and now owning a full-size bottle, this really is done so well. I get the cozy softness and musky sweetness. Of course, it has the DNA of the original, and even the Le Parfum is somewhat similar, but I really like the orange blossom and the marshmallow offering to this because it does make it softer and sweeter. Easily a daily wear, and one that can be a bit TOO strong at times, but I really just enjoy this - it has scary longevity like a day or two on clothes, and a whole day on skin, it really does the damn thing.

It's between interesting and edgy to slightly generic - i don't mean this in a negative way, just saying cos opium line usually raise your expectations to an untradional level and this is where it stands. Floral and sweet and coffee-like at the same time. Has some clean and soapy feeling not as in aldehydic but more like as in reminiscent of the scents that are commonly used in body shower gels - i think it's the pear and the orange blossom and citruses. And citruses stay with you even during the drydown which is rare. Very long lasting. Also it's not on fragrantica yet but the new Zara release "Vanilla Melt" distantly reminds me of this one. Not a true dupe or anything but more like same edgy energy mixed with shower gel scent.

I’ve worn this for the last few days and I like it. I think it’s a more wearable black opium. Much creamier than the original, lighter, sweeter and more floral while still maintaining the DNA. The coffee isn’t as strong, it’s taken a back seat, to me it’s coffee with a ton of creamer. For me, it lasted 6-7hrs before I felt like I had to touch up. I don’t get LDBS at all or even a realistic marshmallow. It’s a synthetic marshmallow that adds sweetness to the fragrance. If you’re not a fan of the original, black opium, I’d probably skip this. But if you do like it, and are looking for one to wear during the day, I’d say go for this one. Plus the presentation is cute imo. But really no need to have both unless you collect them.

All that glitters is gold! Happily my nose actually picks up all the notes that are listed, feel kinda bad for people who don’t but oh well! Everyone’s nose is different than the next one, this smells sweet, marshmallows, coffee, powdery florals, and a little fruity as well? but still has the original black opium dna, sorry guys but I’ve smelled every flanker of black opium, and I can only like le parfum and this one, yeah I know polar opposites, but everything else smells too sour, like the coffee note gone wrong and not enough florals. It doesn’t, I repeat doesn’t skim on the florals, you will smell flowers, coffee, and marshmallows, I personally believe it blends well, it lasts a long time and the sillage is there! 8.5/10

I’m not a fan of the Black Opium line in all honesty but this one is the first one I really really like. I adore orange blossom, vanilla and marshmallow together and here they are THE most prominent notes. It still has that og Black Opium smell but so much better. The patchouli is barely noticeable which I highly appreciate because I really don’t like this note in gourmand fragrances. When I received this sample I rolled my eyes as this was the 10th black opium sample I got, the name Black Opium Glitter also seemed very uninspiring but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It’s not a super unique fragrance but it’s definitely the best out of the black opium flankers. Floral gourmand lovers will really like this.

I absolutely love this perfume so much more after having it for a year. In the beginning, I bought this when it was first launched and it has the black opium DNA with this subtle sweetness to it from the marshmallow note. I did believe the projection and longevity to be a bit weak in the start but after having it for a year and letting it macerate a bit, the dry down is so much stronger and last long on me. The marshmallow note will comes through when you let it sit over time and it becomes this sweet, musky, vanilla perfume. I do recommend this for sure but you have to be okay with letting it chill for a bit if you want those sweeter notes to come through. Super elegant when I wear it out.

I am a huge fan of the Black Opium line, the flankers and the eau de parfum all work really well with my skin chemistry. When I was trying to decide which version to choos I almost could not decide between this one and the edp, because this glitter one felt a bit plastic on paper. However when I sprayed it on my skin it settled down in seconds into this very sweet, playful, youthful scent. I can really pick up the coffee at the base and it has a bit of a floral vibe, but more than anything this scent makes me feel SO HOT like no other scent. It's modern it's fun, it's sweet but not in a sickening way, give it a chance on your skin if you are in doubt, maybe it will surprise you as well.

The playful sister. I went from dislike (in store) to like (when I received my package home), to LOVE when I played around with it). Get to know the perfume before judging. Opium glitter can be worn in the day by a sweet candy lovers like me, and it can be worn at night with added marshmallow perfume oil to be playful but delicious too. OG Opium is the other sister at a night out or date night, but also the same playful character when she wants to be seductive & sexy. I paired it with a perfume oil + body mist that suits the perfume & help enhance the notes I love. The same scent just even stronger, which is how I take this as a night time wear.

WOW, this fragrance is truly divine. I wasn’t a fan of the original Black Opium, found it too sharp, however this flanker is sultry, vanilla and something else I can’t quite put my finger on. Absolutely delicious, it lasts all day. I have a sample of this and really want a full bottle however it’s just too expensive here in Australia. I’ll keep an eye on it though. This is not a safe blind buy - it gives a similar energy to Hypnotic Poison. Try before you buy, for me I can’t stop smelling me wrist or clothes when this is on. Heaven.

I loooove this perfume. It’s not fully what I was anticipating based off of the notes, which I’m honestly happy about. I usually don’t gravitate toward marshmallow scents, but this one is done really beautifully, IMO. She’s much more floral than I thought she’d be, especially in the beginning. The marshmallow is there, but it really shines on the dry down. I have a few other BO flankers, but this one has quickly become my favorite out of them all. Longevity has also been great, especially compared to some of the other black opium’s

Because of this flanker, I’m giving the Black Opium line a try. Citrusy and sweet orange flowers for the opening and first half hour. Then the sweet orange stays and the warm deeper scent comes out. It’s not a heavy coffee scent like BO EDP but more like a warm musk but I don’t get a straight up coffee or patch in this. The dry down then again turns to orange flower. It’s light on me but long lasting. A nice blind buy. I can see this for autumn and winter of course but it can probably be a spring scent as well.

I'm low-key kind of obsessed with this flanker? Was never too into the Black Opium line. I definitely went a little crazy with the tester when I finally saw it in stores though. An "immediately yes" moment, haha. The marshmallow is what I was most excited about. It makes this more sugary than the original, I'd say. The pear and orange blossom (which I'm a huge fan of) give this a more fresh and fruity opening, but as it dries down the original cappuccino vibes are what linger. Definitely need this one. 😍

Wow. As soon as I saw the marshmallow note in this I knew I had to smell it. The only other black opium i’d ever smelled was the OG because my sister owns it, and i quite liked it. But this Glitter flanker is amazing. I think i’m actually addicted to this scent it’s so good. If you’re a gourmand girly like me and you love marshmallow and coffee notes, get this perfume. It lasts forever and you can smell it from across the room with just one spray. Best perfume i’ve ever smelled 🫶🏻

I’m male but love the Black Opium fragrances. I only have two which are Extreme and the Glitter version. My wife has the original one which I also like. I’ve read a few negative reviews of this flanker but it really isn’t that bad. I find it has the DNA of the original with a slight twist. The coffee and vanilla is still there. A couple of hours later you do get the marshmallow hint. If you like the Black Opium range you will love this one. Recommended!

I sprayed it in Sephora today and well... it’s okay. Not a love for me. It’s the same original DNA with marshmallow and all though I do love a good marshmallow note, it’s almost like a little tree car freshener because of the citrus in the top notes. I’ve only had it on for three hours so far and it’s sitting close to the skin. If you want something more gourmand and more projection and longevity I suggest yum boujee marshmallow from kayali
