Cinéma Eau de Toilette

I'd forgotten this one in my perfume room until I was looking through my collection to send to a fellow almond/vanilla lover here on fragrantica. This is yummy. Vanilla, soft spicy, sweet citrus with a dry down like a vanilla amber cloud. I like this one more than the EdP for some reason, though they are very similar. I think it's because this one is more vanilla spice, but still quite long lasting. YSL hasn't messed with the formula, so quality is excellent. I'm thinking of trying Braiser bc of the almond note, we'll see. This one is hard to find except in the mini's but Fragrancenet has them and if you enter reng7 in the promo code, you'll get 35% off bringing it down to $10 and change for a little more than a 1/4 ounce. Plenty to see if you like.

Glamourous Radiant Smooth Gold A stand-out option for fall. A radiant floral amber vanilla with the longevity of a high quality EDP and the transparency of an EDT. I am in love with this golden scent! Could have been a current designer release (just much better quality), as floral vanillas are very on trend (think of Voce Viva and many others). Less syrupy than the OG, which is better suited for winter and has an intense sweetness. I prefer this one actually. Mimosa isn't too pollen-like here. Hard to find, but less sought after than the EDP and worth it! It holds up well as I got a partially used bottle practically for free with something else and it smells as if it was just opened.

YSL Cinema EDT is simply an envelopingly bright, warm and classy number! There's no need to analyze the individual notes here. They blend seamlessly into a beautiful warm, rich and luxurious cloud. It draws you into its embrace without trying too hard. Projection is better than good without ever becoming overwhelming. Its sophisticated sillage turns heads and invites questions. The Longevity is surprisingly excellent. It lasts for days on clothing. I've yet to try the EDP, but I can't imagine it topping this. This is a grown confident woman's fragrance. 9/10

Not a terribly complicated scent but is it ever beautiful. It creates this delicious vanilla floral amber bubble around you and lasts surprisingly long for an EDT. I think this can be worn by any gender. People will gravitate toward you when you wear this.

Really beautiful floral vanilla. Not too sweet or heavy. It has an airiness and elegance that is unusual for this kind of scent. Similar to the edp but less sirupy. It’s an edt but it lasts more than 10 hours on my skin and has really nice sillage.

I've had this one for years and years, it's not gone off yet. It's more floral powder with vanilla and amber than a straight up vanilla amber. Sweetness comes from the floral, probably more from the mimosa/clementine top notes, definitely not ethyl maltol. Her big sister, EdP, is heavy and perfumey to me, EdT somehow has remained relevant. Light, long lasting and effervescent in a modern way without all the modern woody aroma chemicals or vintage aldehydes. Just goes to show you what can really be done with perfume when a great perfumer is given the chance. But all noses are different and this one is very hard to find/buy, so make sure you try to test if you're going to get off eBay. It's a pretty, satisfying floral/fruity/powdery-ish vanilla amber, but it's not a change your world kind of scent.

This reminds me of YSL L'Homme...very unisex in my opinion. Though I think that this fragrance may be a little mature for me, I would like to try it out during the winter to see how the scent plays out. I would rate it 6/10...definitely not a summer scent.

Fall/Winter Perfume - Warm almost boozy with some rum and spice notes. This is for special occasions - like the night that you are up for Best Actress or you know your film will win Best Picture! Wears in the same range as the spicy 1980's perfumes like Elizabeth Taylor's Passion, Fendi, Diva, and Estee Lauder's Cinnebar, Knowing, and the earlier formulation of EL's Youth Dew. David Yurman's Exotic Essence comes to mind - as does Avon's Imari Elixir. All of these have the drama and theatrical essence that I am experiencing as I am smelling this perfume. This is elegant/formal; theatrical, stylized. This is the EDT and it starts extremely strong then begins to settle on the skin. The first 30 minutes are POTENT! Super Strong! For this reason, I would test sample both the perfume and EDT side by side to see which of these formulas you really like - and find the one that wears the best with your chemistry. There is a time and place for this, most definitely -- I could see wearing this for the Oscars while wearing a gorgeous dress on the red carpet. The hair and makeup would be highly stylized, elegant - with a nod towards the 1930's and 40's. The dress would be stylized and would recall the early film days in Hollywood. This is a show stopper that would take the right woman (or right actress) to pull this off. This isn't formulated for wallflowers - and will give most people a slight headache if they can't really pull this one off. (This has a slight medicinal quality about it... which would require the right pH level and chemistry). This would be one that I would reach for only on special occasions. Something memorable, like when you know for sure you will win Best Actress -- or when you know that your film will win the bulk of the Academy Awards... a clean sweep! --------- I would test sample both the EDT and EDP - and pick the one that works absolutely best for you!

Coming two years after its parent, the imposing Cinéma Eau de Parfum, this Toilette version for my nostrils pleases much more, due to its versatility that walks and dialogues with any temperature without being ugly, yes, it shines in the heat and remains with considerably admirable projection. Cinéma Eau de Toilette is a hit and will hardly stay in the back of the drawer, or stagnant in the wardrobe waiting for a specific season. In an autonomous way, it shines brighter than its Eau de Parfum version, emits floral bubbles that are easy to understand and reinforce as time goes by, characterizing itself as present and polite, without suffocating, disturbing or invading the space it occupies. it doesn't belong to you. When one thinks that the fragrance is gone, even after a shower, it emerges with 'strength', demonstrating notoriety, maturation as well as magnificence, ditto. Its Amber is oily and its Vanilla is woody, and in it the odor of damp wood predominates, almost no intense sugars. This one is too beautiful. Putting one on each arm, only if you are in the -16oC of winter in Poland for you to have to choose/opt for the Eau de Parfum version, yes, the Eau de Toilette version wins by far. Get to know her!

Better than EDP formula, not as overwhelming and dirty as edp is. I think EDT should be the real Cinema. The clementine note is absolutely stunning and it gravitates around the stunning Bourbon vanilla and a warm amber. Buy it immediately if you find it, it is avalilable only in old batches because the edt has been discontinued before the edp which has been stopped in 2022. If you are lucky enough to find an ambery gold juice, made before dramatic reformulations, go for it no matter the price. It s a truly niche quality, a real exquisite Cavallier at its best! 🌼🌼🌼🍊🍊🍊🍦🍦🍦

Having first tried it by the end of the (Brazilian) winter I was kinda "ok... I don't get the love about this one... it's a pass" and into a drawer she went. Today, in mid-summer I decided it was time to meet her again, and this time she shined all her golden beauty on me!!! The combination of clementine and mimosa is a true sparkle of joy that made me fall in love, opening the way for an elegant middle and then to a luxurious ambery drydown. She won me... é d'Oxum... No, Cinema EdT, we're not parting ways... you're staying in my life

A floral sensual harmony. Almond tree blossom is the note that lingers the most on my skin Amaryllis is the second one and I can smell the Amber as a third note. Although this has no patchouli it bears a similarity with Elle ysl. Both beasts I can’t prefer one to another! I might say cinema is sweeter and softer Elle is bold and sexier.
