It has a very warm and inviting scent; good for winter and colder times. It starts very very sweet. The sweetness decreases to some extent over time but will be there. The leather note in this fragrance is not like other leather-based fragrances like Tuscan Leather, it is milder and more subtle. To give you an idea, this fragrance has a vibe similar to CH Men Prive, although Prive is not that sweet (which I like). Also not that they are the same but could be considered in the same family of scents so that you know to some extent what you will get with this. Moreover, this can be considered a very safe scent, as I cannot imagine anyone getting offended by it - unless you apply too much or use it in summer heat! Regarding performance, some people have bad experience with this perfume; while for some others it can be ok. Personally, I prefer Cuir over the others from this line. The main problem with this perfume is the price! With this price you can definitely buy better perfumes, or go for similar yet cheaper ones that do the job. Overall a pleasant scent, but not a blind buy type of perfume due to the high price. Give it a try before buying a full bottle to know what you will be getting.

I received a decant from Granada Mall in Riyadh and decided I’d wear it on my skin even though the woman mentioned this being a men’s perfume. On my skin it turned into this beautiful slightly sweet spicy earthy leather smell that I was addicted with smelling on myself (but my skin turns every perfume sweet and musky). For others it might just be straight harsh leather, but as others mention I don’t smell any rum. I love this scent. I don’t understand the negative reviews. It lasts forever on clothing. I can smell it in my wardrobe on wool coats and on jumpers a few days later. All I smell though is a beautiful leather, a slight spice as though some black pepper accord was added and guaic wood throughout from initial spray to dry down. It is very overpowering though. A single spray fills the whole room, and can be nauseating to others who don’t like woody leathery DNA scents. This has the potential I imagine to cause motion sickness, in others, if sprayed in a closed space. The sillage and longevity is intense. It’s worth the price in my opinion. I’d buy this for my husband just to smell him, that’s how much I love it. As a woman I can say it’s a very gorgeous attractive perfume.

I put a like for this a while back when I first tried this line. This was always one that I expected to be good and was but moved passed it without to much of an event or fanfare. However, upon trying today I think it deserves more praise. If you love a sweet, warm oriental which in truth is more tobacco heavy than leather despite the name. It is leathery in the opening, sweetly edged, opulent and with an almost gourmand cinnamon spice of a tolu balsam, it really appeals but I like something to surprise me and it feels a little bit stock. However, as it dries down the tobacco is more dominant giving a different dimension even hints of tea and dry smoke from the tobacco accord but somehow cleaning everything up at the same time. The feel is more Miller Harris feuilles de tabac, Bertrand for L’Artisan or other blonde tobacco fragrances you might care to mention. It’s really great. Lacking the unusual edginess of my favourite of this bunch, which is Vinyl.

Even though this perfume was made in France it reminds me of Italy. Specifically of Milan. Not just because that is where I bought it, but because it immediately transports me to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with its swanky people rushing by with their tobacco stained fingers and handmade leather bags. This perfume is a delight. It took me four days to find a perfume that would forever signify my trip to Italy with my fiancee. I had many scent strips in my motel room one night and I awoke to smell this in the air. It captivated me so I had to buy it. Saffron drizzled with honey-soaked tobacco oozes from a hard worn black leather jacket. It fills the air like smoke and has a real sexy rock and roll vibe to it. This is a statement perfume that turns heads. I recommend it for men and women.

Please don't review if you only have a sample. So many times i see 'poor projection, no lasting power' and this is just not true... and who the heck has compared this to Fan di Fendi Pour Homme?! I own that one, i have a massive 150ml of it.. and they are worlds apart! It's like comparing Aqua di Gio to Amouage Interlude Man! 🙃 Anyway back to the Cuir, I am lucky enough to have a 125ml bottle of this which i cherish, and 3 sprays gets me through the entire day, and it can be smelled on clothes the next day... what more do you want lol MASTERPIECE! 10/10

was fortunate enough to find a full bottle of this exceptional fragrance. I've never smelt this prior the purchase so I took the risk and I gotta say I am not disappointed to the slightest. This gorgeous perfume opens with oriental spices with a lot of leather some sweet undertone. It settles into a beautiful woody/leather fragrance that has solid performance/sillage and great longevity. Shame on YSL for discontinuing this one and replacing it with something subpar (Cuir 2023). This one will be getting lots of love from me this fall/winter 10/10.

I agree with the reviews below that this an excellent tobacco, leather, boozy and woody fragrance. However, I don't understand the comments and votes about bad performance since this has in fact pretty beast mode performance both on skin and on paper (haven't tried on clothes yet). I sprayed this on a test strip and I can catch the sillage from about one meter away from the paper strip several days after. The only other fragrance in my collection bahaving in similar manner is Dior Homme Parfum. Overall, a love for me!

Soft spicy tobacco tea infusion with a healthy dose of rum. Soft Seude, subtle smoke and guaiac wood. Every note listed is noticeable yet perfectly balanced in harmony. This gives me a calm collected meditative and mysterious aura. This is a gorgeous composition. The whole Le Vestiaire line is quite underrated. If anyone has a bottle of this available for swap or purchase please shoot me a msg! Beautiful fragrance.

Rather too discreet, I'd say. So you'd have to use much more than you'd normally do in order to feel it as you'd like to. The scent is very elegant, a blend of rhum, vanilla and some other spices, as far as I can tell, and not sweet at all, which is a major plus for me. A bit overpriced, given the excessively discreet nature, yes, I can agree with the other comments that have pointed this out.

Beautiful narcotic sensual accord of leather, woods, oud and saffron. Very intimate and heart-moving. Excellent find, the YSL luxury collection did not impress me much apart from this one, Gold and Capeline. So grateful it lacks the syrupiness that usually accompanies this type of fragrance. Very unisex, very Casanovaish/femme fataleish.

Complete class and sweet leather elegance. The inital blast of rum mellows and gives way to sweet, yet somewhat familar vibe but done so much better. Allow this one to settle and progress in order to witness it's true beauty. Tuxedo CH Men Prive La Nuit de L'homme Tuscan Leather Black Orient Herod met your elegant cousin...Bravo!

On my skin, the leather is in the background while the rum and tobacco notes are more prominent. There is also a noticeable black tea vibe which is unique from so many other scents that do the rum/tobacco combination. This is a very good scent, but so many others do it just as well at a much lower price point.

if you love tom flrd ombre leather,ysl babycat, bdk parfums gris charnel extrait, initio side effect, or mfk grand soir you need to get either a decant from trusted website or a alexandria fragrance dupe of this asap, you need to trust me and thank me later, have fun

Ultimate old money style fragrance! I’ve always thought it smelled like a more mature stronger version of DG the one. It’s a spiced orange wood with a light tobacco and suede then dries down to a creamy woody spice.

It's a beautiful scent, the opening is pure fine leather with tobacco. The woody notes come later. I really like it but don't know if I love it so much as to buy a full bottle at full price.

I had high hopes for this, but turned out to be the most bland (and commercial) of the 3, and osmanthus isn't even detectable! With all that said, it's still pretty decent and sexy even; quite masculine and almost like an evening version of Tuxedo, also has a similar vibe to La Nuit de L'Homme + Bvlgari Thé Noir.

I like this, YSL really created a nice leathery-spicy fragrance with Cuir. It's a boozy scent, saffron blended with rhum. Also I voted this as unisex, and very much wearable for colder nights! <3

Forward dry wood with a leather after tone. what I mean by this is immediately picking up on wood tones, then on exhale get more of a leather aftereffect. Mature and not overdone, but not very romantic or in my mind interesting (comparatively). I don't get any rum really, and outside the wood and leather other notes don't particularly poke through. If you have ever smelled some exotic kiln dried woods, it's basically than.

Wow ! Thank God I have learned my lesson (finally) about blind buying based on notes and Ingredients lists. After about 2 years of true appreciation and interest in "fragrance art" I would think I could have a basic idea of how a fragrance would actually smell based on the Ingredients list but WOW ! Every ingredient in that list is one that I tend to gravitate towards and like, leather, tobacco, tea, osmanthus, saffron, oud, etc. Yet somehow this was probably the first fragrance that I literally was getting nauseous from smelling on my arm. It is a bummer because the longevity and sillage are both far better than average, so even after scrubbing and using baby wipes I could still smell it. At first spray I was very hopeful and it did smell nice, with in a few minutes suddenly the only thing I could smell was an extremely pungent super concentrated smell of something that is in soy milk or maybe almond milk. I know this sounds crazy, but possibly it's the combination of the oud, the tea, and the saffron ?? It somehow almost reminds me of ambrette seeds, where in small doses it can be a great smell like in the Atelier Cologne Musc Imperial for example, but I imagine excessive amounts would smell something like this yet it's not an ingredient here. If anybody else has picked up on that PLEASE comment on it, otherwise I guess it's just not compatible with my skin chemistry AT ALL. I do however realize that this is extremely high quality and can't take that away but this one definitely did not work for me and it's hard for me to imagine it smelling that much better on someone else with that note... 2nd review- So I've had this in rotation lately and I was break with some women from my training class. As we were walking one of the women asked what was I wearing, another woman jumped in and said ''whatever you're wearing smells really really gud!!!'' I was just chilling, smiling trying not to look like I knew this shit was gud lol- I'm glad nobody knows about this...I'm staking my claim in this joint!!! This is super certified!

I wore this on a cold day and I'll say this... THIS THING IS LOUD & IT SCREAMS CLASS!!! The tobacco note is this thing smelled so amazing on my skin. Honestly I was expecting something soft and weak performing but I'm actually shocked! I've been searching for a new brown fragrance and I've found my new love. You have to be dressed up with the nice coat when you wear this. This isn't to be worn with hoodies and tennis shoes.

This is amazing, the first impression is very boozy and smells very much like Aesthete by Le Galion which is more confidential. While Aesthete will develop into a much more woodsy affair reminiscent of M7, this one follows another path that mixes smoky notes, rhum and oud. I would say this one is absolutely unisex, for evening wear, more of a winter scent, and very dressy of course.

It is a perfect leather. The turning point between ck one shocking and tuscan leather. Fuxia Flowers on a suede jacket. It has a ghost heart (sometimes it is there sometimes disappears) of flowers which remember me Purple Fantasy by Guerlain. Very intriguing scent. You may not find Cuir very original, but perfection it is not unique it is the sum of many little elements.

Weird combination of leather, tea and florals, but it works. This one is actually for the ladies, particularly those that enjoy leather, a bit of tobacco and some woods without worrying about feeling or smelling manly. On the right woman, this would smell great during the colder months.

Highly underrated. This is a unique composition that is very wearable without being generic and traditionally "mass appealing". This is not a hyper realistic leather scent like Tuscan Leather. It's a smooth, sweet, spicy, boozy scent. Sample it!

Have a 5ml sample and absolutely love it. If anyone can point me in the direction of a bottle please let me know. 😄
