La Nuit de L'Homme Eau de Parfum

There are very few fragrances that are as daring and have an opening as bombastic as this. As an intermediate level fragrance collector, I own, have owned and smelled an obscene amount of fragrances and it is very rarely that I am caught off-guard by a fragrance, especially one of designer sensibilities. Any fragrance connoisseur knows the original La Nuit - this flanker is a bold and daring departure from that legendary DNA to darker and more adventurous territory and let us unpack it very briefly: This is a dense and enveloping fragrance loaded to the rafters with cardamom, leather and Tonka to create an aura of fire around any so daring as to wear the scent. The opening is loud, sweet and truly dense on first application. It quickly becomes apparent that this scent is something of a monster and addresses the very well documented performance issues of the OG La Nuit while striking harmony between the core elements of the original and evolving the scent with the inclusion of the leather and Tonka. This EDP does come across more masculine and is a dangerous item to have in one’s arsenal on colder days and those evening excursions. From the onset, all of the new accords are on full display and they gradually make their way to the front as the freshness at top subsides. After which, the leather and Tonka become the most prominent and these are accompanied by a slight powdery texture, while the famed cardamom retreats to a supporting background role on this iteration as opposed to being the protagonist like on the original. The scent opens warm, rich, sweet and very sensual with a quick bite from the grapefruit, which quickly retreats, with a dash of powdery dustiness from the lavender herein. This phase of the fragrance is very short-lived, which makes this version come across as less fresh, at least, when compared with the original. Once the stars of the show, the leather and the Tonka, take center stage, the fragrance becomes smoother and even more elegant with the emergence of the sandalwood which polishes the scent slightly while mixing in a slight woody element. When comparing the two, the EDT is more attention grabbing and may be favored more by the general public but I favour this EDP a bit more as it feels more creative and a step away from some of the traditional leanings of mainstream fragrances, making it slightly more unique while still keeping some of the designer mass-appeal. Naturally, this will be a cold weather and night-time scent as I suspect it may grow slightly cloying in high-heat situations. As earlier indicated, the fragrance does perform very well – Lasting cleanly through entire work days with a few feet of projection around the first two hours of application and gradually growing closer and eventually resting as a skin scent which you won’t have to work very hard to locate at the end of your day. Overall, here is my rating: Scent: 8/10 Pricing: 7/10 Versatility: 7/10 Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 8/10

Yeah bleu electric smells a tad better, but blue electric is so weak, I bought a bottle of this and blue electric today, tested them and blue electric is so faint after 5mins and sits really close to the skin and in 30mins is a skin scent and gone after an hour and a half, really disappointed with that one. I'll do a full review on this soon, but this is stronger than both the Blue EDT Intense and the EDT, lasts and projects more, in the average range but still better than both. I find the standard EDT performs better than the Blue electric and my girlfriend thinks so too. Don't waste your money on any of the YSL men's range, they're all so damn weak it is basically a rip off/ scam to even sell them to the public. The only one I would recommend is this one, the EDP, it performs about the same as D&G The One EDP, so it's still a low performer but, it at least still somewhat performs

I got a 06/2020 batch and I can't believe what a beast this juice is. Why the bad ratings?! This has such an amazing opening, it's so unique, and the performance is out of this world! I get compliments for this every time I wear it. I also think this easily is wearable in the spring time, since it has such a clean feel to it, although it's an intense fragrance. I will definitely rock this one in spring and summer at night at least 3 to 4 times a month for sure! Scent: 10/10 Uniqueness: 10/10 (yes) Performance: 10/10 (oh yes!) Price/Value: 10/10 (got 100 ml for 52€ ) I can't see anyone who tried a few fragrances in his life giving this a bad rating considering all the points I mentioned above. It's a perfect fragrance for the money. Cheers!

Just ordered this from Jomashop, looking forward to it. I've sampled the original and own 2 bottles of Bleu Electrique. I also like having a couple discontinued fragrances. The whole line is right up my ally so I have high expectations. I only have the aforementioned LNDL, but this is similar but more woody and definitely more zesty with a citrus note. To me this is a little less powdery and a welcome difference. I never got the original because it's easy to come by and more basic compared to flankers. The og is great but I can pick that up pretty much anytime and anywhere. I may get second bottle of this too. I've also slowed down on adding to my collection, so I'm trying to be much more picky about what I buy these days.

Originally I gave this fragrance a very bad score and review. But on further where's I've decided that this fragrance is actually really nice if you know what you should be looking for ahead of time. The opening is okay, but then it quickly dries down into a leather Tonka combination that smells very delicious. The longevity it is average I suppose. What I like about this fragrances that it is pretty unique. I've collected some other fragrances from this line oh, but so far this one is the best. Sometimes I like combining it with the l e parfum, for the leather and vetiver smoke combo, that's out of this world! So yes, I have changed my mind about this fragrance,

I haven’t smelled it before it got reformulated but I had to get one just because I love YSL Y line so wanted to check their others. This smells very masculine in a way that could be described as an old fashion made for a younger audience if that makes sense. Is quite sweet but not more than the spices. But a bit soapy feeling. Not so much leather but I feel it a tiny bit. I got many compliments from my older male colleagues (all in their 30s) and it’s maybe not as it used to it’s still smells great. Would recommend this to someone that wants a mature fragrance for good first impression that screams winter/halloween date night.

What a great release from YSL. Yes the flanker of a flanker of a flanker, but they actually did a wonderful job this time around. Its inviting and complex to say the least The original DNA is quite subtle and the added notes like lavender clary sage vetiver and patchouli give this a familiar but toned down echo of none other than Fahrenhiet le Parfum. Now these are not the same fragrances by any means but there is a similarity between the two I pick up. La Nuit EDP is a sweeter and more playful. i find it more wearable. The performance is average at best, but it does very well when over sprayed or applied to clothing.

My favorite LNDL ever. It's not an iris, but it opens up with a cosmetic bag scent. I would never be the idiot that smells something once then judges it. This one took several wearings in order for me to appreciate it. The appreciation runs deep now. The sillage will drag women along for the ride. I have over 300 fragrances, and this one is unique. I'm proud to own it, and it's making its way up to a "TOP 10 FOR LIFE" fragrance of mine. My hat is off to YSL, mostly due to their private line. Of course, I sampled it before I purchased it. Ppl get butt-hurt blind buying. The evidence is all over fragrantica.

I wanted to like this because I love the LNDL line (I have the EDT, Frozen Cologne, Eau Electrique, and Blue Electrique, love them all), but unfortunately on my skin it was TOO STRONG. I felt it like a cardamom+tonka concentrated bomb, similar at a lower intensity to Armani Code Profumo. I had to take it off me after 2-3 hours, I couldn ́t stand it, such a bummer.... on the other side, my wife found it "good". EDIT: previous review was in summer, hot weather and sweat may have affected this, because I tried it a couple times in winter and found it very nice, so nice that I had to buy it.

Blind bought this as I had heard it was discontinued and saw tons of discounters stock up on them. Can definitely say I'm in love with this for a cooler weather evening scent! Have never smelled the original, but I really enjoy the cardamom in this and to me it projects as a slightly sweet cardamom with just a touch of leather. Not the biggest fan of a leather note sometimes as it can be a bit overbearing to me at times, however this simply adds just a bit of sophistication to the scent. Lasts decently long on clothes for me (about 7-8 hours) and slightly less on skin.

As a Yves lover, I had to grab a bottle of this since they discontinued and killed it. I read this is different than LNDL which is good because I am not a huge fan. But yooo... this shit is incredible!! This is what I imagined LNDL to smell like before I first tried it. Its got just the right amount of almost everything to make it a grown man cool weather scent. It is truly a classic. Masterpeice level? Perhaps. Time will tell. I accidently double ordered it and might just have to keep it. It is soooo good. Get a bottle while they are $120.

Different to the original, sweeter and in my opinion, superior. There's some fresh notes such as grapefruit and lavender which cut through the sweet tonka, cardamon and leather base. The scent may be a bit harsh on the opening for some but for me, it works well. The scent projects well initially but settles. Longevity however is good, unlike some of the new EDT formulations. Overall, a great flanker with decent performance. I can see myself reaching for this a fair bit. Ratings Sillage: 7.5/10 Longevity: 8.1/10 Scent: 8.2/10

Was able to smell the regular La Nuit EDT in store and knew enough of the story to blind buy the La Nuit EDP 2019 for like $100 and oh boy this is a wonderful scent! It might be the perfect date night fragrance. Super inviting, warm, sexy. It lasts around 2 hours of decent projection then it goes into a great skin scent, so call it good timing for date night or whatever but I know my cue when I know it. So many people gatekeep this online for a very good reason, straight 9/10 easy wish it lasted longer lol

Great scent but again does not smell like the original. I get mostly leather and a bit of sandalwood. I would say it smells more like CH men Prive than the original LNdlH. Performance till now is similar to CH Men Prive. Do not get your hopes up that this is a stronger version. Would have been better if this wasnt a flanker but instead a new creation. It is still a unique and interesting scent, just does not smell like LNdlH. Dissapointing in name but in scent definitely not.

My dad brought me this as a gift. When I smell it I fell in love. It is a fragrance which is not screaming, it shots when you're closer. I don't know how it is like compared to the original, but I love this. My girlfriend and I were having good time and she could not stop smelling me and asking which fragrance I wore. She loved it so much that she wants me to wear only this at winter and fall. Great romantic fragrance, good date fragrance for cold days or any night.

One of my fall/winter designer top 10 favorite. I don't understand why people rated it so low, as this and Le Parfum are two of the best from La Nuit line. Of course, performance could be a bit better but let's take a closer look at all designer fragrances released in the past 3 or 4 years and most of them have some performance issues. For me this is a 9/10 designer fragrance.(my scale of rating designer and niche fragrances are different)

My fav ysl, im a big fan of the house and this is THE winter fregfence from ysl, def gonna buy a small bottle for winter, i love the transition in this fregrence, it starts off kinda harsh with the cardamom, and gets to the leather and tonka, the smell is perfectly balanced, aromatic lavender with sweet tonka and leather works so good and it lasts 12+ hours on skin 9.5/10 Projection cloud be louder

Very good and underrated flanker. It keeps the original DNA and adds a bit of sweetness. I mainly get cardamom, lavender and tonka. The leather note is not very prominent, you get just a smooth touch of it. I don't catch the grapefruit note.To my nose this flanker is better than the overhyped Bleu Electrique and closer to the original DNA. Scent : 10/10 Longevity : Good. Projection : Average

Tested this one a couple days ago and i must say this is some good juice, starts of a bit smokey, after some time it gets a creamy nice warm spicy sandelwood, if you like scents like Lalique encre noir A L'extreme this might be for you, longevity was very good it lasted all day on my hand, sillage was about 3 hours on me, i really loved it and cant wait to get my hands on a bottle.

I can confidently say this is one of the best designer smells out there. I absolutely adore the smell of this fragrance HOWEVER, the longevity and silage really make it hard to wear without having to overspray or reapply frequently. I wore this on New Years and after about 1-2 hours, it became a skin scent. l just wish it had better performance 10/10 smell, 5/10 longevity/silage

Unlike most comments I have seen, I like La Nuit de l'homme, but I like this more. Not only does this perform (and especially project) much more than La Nuit edt, but I much prefer the scent. To be fair, this fragrance is darker and sweeter, the types of fragrances I like. Regardless, this is one of the nicest sweet scents I have tried, and I even prefer it to "The One."

Yesterday i got a 2019 batch bottle . Guess I'm lucky enough to experience this one . Straight to the point , smooooooooth and rich . Sensational opening , it gets more creamier and sweeter as it dries down. It has it's own way from the original signature DNA on LNDL , IN AN EXQUISITE WAY . Performance is good , it's not a beast mode fragrance . A very solid 9/10

The improved version of the original. I have become a bit less interested in designer perfumes lately, but this is still one of my favorite designers, along with SWY Parfum, if you're looking for that mass appealing evening occasion fragrance. It's mature and serious enough, but also airy and aromatic enough so you don't choke out everyone during a dinner event.

This smells like the original with a new sweet boozy leather fragrance on top off it, yeah weird! But do it smell good, hell yeah! This is the new good good.. For all you snobs, nah its not ground breaking! Do it smell like some others out ther meh/yeah.. Don't care, this got its own it factor! And yes It last.. ysl got this right! Love ysl y edp too tho.

First impressions was sweet, youthful, and date night fragrance. But over the period I kinda started to like it. It's nice, floral, warm, spicy, and sweet. Opening is nice and smooth. Perfect for wither, spring, and fall. Can be used during day time also in cooler weather. Long lasting and projection is good. Value for money. Won't recommend blind buy.

I love this scent profile but sadly it gives me a massive headache that pushes into migraine territory. I’m super jealous of those that get to enjoy this. A classic chemical bomb. If this could be made with no expensive spared in quality of ingredients, it would be unstoppable. Smell-10/10 Performance 7/10 Value- incredible if bought from discounter.

Tested for 1 week Sillage is pretty decent, not a beast but its slightly above average, a bit more smokey and darker than the original edt (almost dior homme parfum vibes to my unprofessional nose, much more mass appealing though). Longevity 6-7 hours, becomes skin scent after about 5 h. I think it deserves at least 4,1 out of 5 stars.

This smells GAS! This is a fragrance to me. Fresh, spicy, manly, not too sweet not too spicy not cloying, and very mass appealing! On me this doesn’t really project unfortunately but maybe the new 2026 version will smell similar (hopefully) and project better. Definitely copping this if the new one hits like the current version!!

This is just the perfect cardamom scent to me! The smell is addictive, pleasing and makes me want to smell it all the time! It`s not the most projecting scent, but an insane compliment getter! I find it great for layering with lots of other stuff as well, so I`ll never get tired of it! IMO one of the most pleasing scents ever!

Addictive. Sensual. Playful The opening is quite bold and citrusy, but it quickly dries down to a gorgeous woody(smoky?) Vanilla. Good projection throughout but does become a closer scent after 2 to 3 hours, and lasts 6 hours+ . No scent has impacted me quite like this one, I am just obsessed. Definitely a blind buy success.

This the one right here fellas. The dry down on this is incredible, I wish it opened and lasted longer in that exact same way but oh well it's still perfection. Every once in a while you'll get a whiff of it in the air 4-5 hours later and it's like you're smelling a different cologne from what you put your nose up to. 5/5

I don’t understand the low rating tbh. I just love this fragrance so much. Yes it’s a little bit synthetic, but the cardamom in this one is so good. It’s much more elegant than the original. Performance is OK, nothing special but not bad either. If you spray your clothes it will last all day. For me, this is a 10/10 !

Probably one of my favorite fragrances all time. Very deep and strong, the leather and woody notes are so addictive. First time wearing it didn’t really get it, but after a few more tries fell in love with, compliment getter as well. you have to wear fragrances a few times before formulating a true opinion.

One of my all time favorite scents Smells very high quality for what it is, great for evenings out and date nights, sadly it’s been reformulated and now supposedly discontinued. I own a 2020 batch (38T200G) an absolute gem in my collection. I get Above average longevity and decent projection.

My personal favorite Winter scent. Spraying this makes you feel like this James Bond villian that's playing poker. I don't really have any more ways to describe it. Incredible Spicy blend with slight notes of vanilla. Scent 9/10 Projection 7/10 Sillage 9/10 Performance 6~8 Hours Overall 9/10

The most underrated male fragrance from Yves Saint Laurent. It never received the love it deserved. It's a playful and seductive scent. I think it caught LNDL-lovers off guard, because it doesn't really resemble the original EdT at all. It is nontheless a great fragrance in it's own right.

bold, spicy blast of cardamom mixed with a zesty grapefruit twist — fresher and punchier than the original EDT’s cardamom-lavender vibe. It quickly settles into a sophisticated heart of lavender, smooth leather, and herbal clary sage, giving it that mysterious, masculine edge.

I think that there are some notes not mentioned in the list, it smells flamy and hot and its suitable only for winter. Scent wise its so unique and good compliment getter, it will be a nice gift for someone who wears heavy perfumes. Longivity is great and sillage is very good.

This perfume has a very rich aroma and at first it feels like this perfume cannot be from this world, it smells so high quality that no one can say that it will be less than $ 300.It is definitely a winter and autumn scent, but it is sharp enough to disturb you after a while.

Very rich scent. I’m not a fan of YSL La Nuit de l’Homme line, to my nose the original smells like rotten egg 🥚 and this smells nothing like that, it has a deep pleasant smell. Unfortunately, performance is very moderate, which is surprising for this kind of scent profile.

Perfect winter scent, I live in Sweden so its cold. This just warms me up, like Christmas Eve. Buy it before its watered down or gone. I have a 40ml bottle thats unopened. And 60ml bottle to wear occasionally. Love this, Reminds me of quality YSL La Nuit used to be.

Oh my goodness. It's my favourite la nuit de... so far In the beginning sweet cardamom with leather shines. Then we have sage and lavander. So nice colonge. Blind buy this and I am not regret. Performance is very good but sillage is moderate.

this is surprisingly good. I expected something very similar to the OG but this goes in to a completely different direction. it kinda smells like a warm coconut with a woody leather base. I actually really like this, perfect for a date night

I use this as a year rounder. So sad it's discontinued. Smells amazing, never smelt anything like it. The sillage and longevity are poor. It becomes a skin scent in 2 hours, maybe less. This scent would be perfect if it wasn't for that:(

Love this, tried it at the store, hoping it would smell like La'nuit de L'homme L'intense (the one that was replaced by this and discontinued), and it actually smells really good, not similar, but its brilliant in its own way.

Finally got my hands on this. I can confirm the scent is amazing. It’s like a darker take on the OG but it has a hint of leather that is blended so well someone who has never smelled a leathery fragrance won’t pick up on it.

Gorgeous!! I tested it on my arm the other day. The scent is amazing, it kind of resembles the edt, but is has more depth, and the dry down is all about leather. It has good longevity also. It will be in my collection soon!

The leather is just too prominent and sharp for me. Pass. The only L'Homme/LNDH flanker I've not been able to get behind. Seems to have good performance. Edit: it's growing on me... Edit 2: I caved and bought it. Love it.

Spicy, dark, mysterious. Very good fragrance, smells complete, interesting and deep. Clear tonka and leather, love it! Superstar in the spring and fall, more than average sillage and performance on me.

Blind bought this a while back and I just knew I was going to love it. Easily in my top 10 of all time. Such a sexy fragrance Doesn't even come anywhere NEAR TF ombre leather. Not in the slightest
