La Nuit de L'Homme L'Intense

It's been a little over an hour ago since I did my first spray....opening definitely has that transparent iris note that the Dior Homme line is known for. Which I wasn't expecting.(guess I should have looked at the note list!lol) And now that's kind of moving to the back and letting the slightly spicy and sweet vanilla/tonka to come forward. Doesn't really remind me of original La Nuit much at all.(except for the slight powdery-ness) This one is much smoother and cut WAY back on the spiciness of the original La Nuit. Also I swear, I'm smelling some amber or something that resembles it in the background as well. Honestly, this is a pleasant surprise! I'm normally not a fan of iris or powdery scents...but the first impression I'm getting is a pretty positive one! Kind of a cross of the opening of Dior Homme/Intense with a lovely vanilla/tonka note not too far from Ultra Male's to my nose....nicely balanced frag. Looking forward to this first full wearing to see how it develops and to test out the longevity...but it's plenty strong smelling so far to my nose. Edit-the first full wearing went well...turns out longevity was very good. Got a solid 8hrs of being able to smell it easily on my hand and about 10hrs total before it was just barely detectable. However, like with some EDP's the projection and sillage dropped off drastically after the first couple of hours. Despite that disappointment, it's by no means a deal breaker as I still really enjoy this fragrance. Edit #2 2/5/17 I just LOVE this fragrance! Every time I put it on, I'm enamored with its lovely/creamy/sweet/aromatic floral smell. Just such a wonderful and well blended composition. I seriously don't get all bad reviews for this.

Don't believe anyone who says this lasts 20 mins because that's just bull and not true. This scent gets a Lot of Hate because it says intense in the name.. The community forgets this fragrance and gives it no love. I bought a bottle of this and it is amazing. Sweet and smooth. The iris and Tonka bean are heavy hitters and a good combo for compliments. The intense on the bottle in my opinion is not of the normal sense of the word but like "Dude that's intense." As in Cool or awesome. It has nothing to do with strength of the juice. It's not made to last longer than the coveted Orignal that everyone holds up to this ridiculous standard. I have a bottle.. It's a good scent.. Not the greatest ever. Never my "Go To" fragrance. Anyway this scent isn't anything close to that. It has its own vibe and is a great cooler weather fragrance. You can wear on a date, casual, upscale etc. Your best bet is to plan a date night where you are close.. Like a movie or on the couch next to someone because after a few hours it becomes a closer scent. Projection is good for a few hours but stays and lingers closer to you. If you get heated up the projection comes back some but not more than half an arms length. You will smell it on yourself and in a tiny scent bubble when u walk once it dries down for good. I feel like it's kind of a scent For You.. Not so much to show off for anyone else or to try and get attention from others. You will get some in the first few hours but after that it's more for yourself. This is a very sweet smell and not for everyone. Disregard the low scores and Hate in the comments bc it's all for nothing.

I ran into this new La Nuit de L'Homme L'Intense today and I am glad that I did.. I sprayed a few squirts on my wrist so this is just my first impression.. La Nuit de L'Homme L'Intense opens up fresh, sweet, and floral.. There is lots and lots of iris in this fragrance, especially in the opening & it smells great.. Vanilla and tonka are also a big part of this fragrance, they add sweetness to this scent but in a soft gentle way.. There is touches of patchouli in the base which ground the fragrance.. But most of what I get from this scent is a soft iris vanilla tonka fragrance which indeed smells a bit like Dior Homme.. Picture a softer toned down Dior Homme with touches of the spicy La Nuit de L'Homme DNA drifting throughout and that is pretty much what this L'Intense smells like.. Now a lot of people are under the impression that Intense flankers are supposed to be stronger and perform better than the original, but that is "not" the case at all.. Intense flankers are actually only supposed to be a darker, warmer, take on the original fragrance.. "Intense" has nothing to do with performance.. This L'Intense certainly does not perform better than the original but neither is it a darker, warmer, take on the original La Nuit.. If you want a darker, warmer take on La Nuit than check out the "Le Parfum".. This L'Intense is actually a much softer, lighter, floral take on the La Nuit theme.. This new L'Intense will get plenty of hate for all of these reasons but that doesn't take away from the fact that this fragrance does smell amazing! I really enjoyed this fragrance and it is on my wish list!

between this, the original and le parfum version... this one is definitely the beter version why you ask? the quality of the scent, the original smells much more synthetic compared to this although the original is nice don't get me wrong but this one does it so much better and le parfum isn't as close to the original dna if i remember correctly (it's been 7 year's ago i had le parfum) of course the opening is different then the original i get the violet but more like a violet candy and not so powdery smelling as for example the powder smell in prade l'homme (intense). longevity and sillage aren't as great you really have to spray alot if you wanna get smelled for at least 4-5 hours, i spray 7 times with this one and it is just enough for me to smell myself for 3-4 hours others don't really notice the scent after 1-2 hours, spraying 12 times or more.... should do it haha so yeah the price is not worth it, i got it for 62€ or so for 100ml and was the last one ici paris xl would sell. only for the scent itself 9 out of 10 but would only acquire this if you can get it at a nice price and you collect fragrances. even the original isn't really sex in a bottle many reviewers on youtube say it is just a good smelling fragrance you can't go wrong with either version you choose but l'intense smells of better quality. and remember! a couple of sprays a day keeps the stinky people away! :D

I think people have missed the REAL Selling Point of this release: its perfect composition for a newbie review! In this liquid even a beginner (i.e. yours truly) will, possibly, detect ALL opening notes in ONE single sniff – the fragrantic equivalent to a hole-in-one. We may not know how to describe them, but they will be there and they will, for a short while, let us believe we are GENIUSES with a sense of smell only gods allow and provide! “Iris? Check! Violet? Check! (may be confused with each other) That dental caries candy shop smell? You mean vanilla? Check!” Don’t bother about the base notes. Those are not for our kind. At least not yet. Just say “Tonka” or “Green”. That will let you through. Then it will suddenly stop. And you will wonder why. That’s because the ride is over. Your four minutes have passed. Please insert new coins. As for my own humble opinion, I rate this as a fine tuned Fahrenheit (90’s batches) that grown men can wear without blushing. A dark, high-powered mutant – with a life-span of a sneeze... Which is a damn shame, because this fragrance really SPEAKS to me. Imagine if they had bothered to add some anchor molecules to those base notes. Just a few. Even one. A shame indeed.

With all the money made by the original La Nuit de L'Homme, and all the money this could potentially make, one would think YSL has the funds to make this one good right? So I got myself a sample of it and this is what I think. YSL must have realized they do not want to go down the One Million path of nuclear sillage and destruction, that thing is loud and quite repulsive. They must have also realized many people were spraying la nuit in a way so to achieve that same thick cloud of sillage. This is all wrong. Perfume should be playful, mysterious, intriguing, attractive. That's what makes the other person to want to get closer to you and this is what this release achieves. It's made so no matter how many sprays you do, it will not overwhelm nearby noses. The scent here is thinner and it comes and goes away and for hours I would get whiff of it every now and then. Beautiful. My conclusion is YSL is trying to set themselves apart from other designers and get to Creed's standards of quality in scent. Or I could be totally wrong and YSL is just being cheap. Either way, I like it very much and I would wear it everyday to office. Don't use it for clubbing, that's what One Million is for.

OK this was just a quick test on my hand in a store but wow I really do like this fragrance.Admittedly it does remind me of several things I've smelled before, especially seeing as strong iris notes seem really 'a la mode' these days in men's fragrances. My nose must be playing tricks on me because I'm sure I smelled cardamom to begin with (similar to the original La Nuit) then after a short while the floral notes come into play the iris in particular giving that vibe which is less floral and more like the aroma of make-up/cosmetic products softened by the vanilla and tonka. Due to the apparently phantom note of cardamom (and also an amber vibe which isn't listed) I was also reminded of CK One Shock for men at first, then something along the lines of CK Obsessed for men/Valentino Uomo due to a leathery/iris type vibe. This is definitely worth seeking out and trying for anyone who's into recent men's designer releases such as those I mentioned as well as the original La Nuit de l'Homme (though this is different to that one). Scent:8/10 Edit: for me this was much longer lasting than the current La Nuit de l'Homme original, but then tap water is almost as strong as that stuff.

This is my absolute favorite of the YSL L'homme line, including the entire La Nuit de L'homme line. I love it so. I fell in love with it, off of a random carded sample. By the time I got the sample and was introduced to it, the fragrance had already been discontinued, this was probably, 3.5 years ago, maybe more. Then one day I saw it on a selling site that I won't name it b/c I don't like their, "Side with the lying ass customer who blind bought an unopened fragrance and decided they didn't like it" policy, for maybe $47.58. I think I may have paid about $54 in all but, I got a fresh unopened 60ml for under $60, when it was nowhere to be found. It's underrated, so sexy, so masculine, seductive....well, it seduced me. Yes, the performance is average at best but for me, that's OK, this entire line, save maybe Eau Electrique, are night time, date night, intimate setting, close encounters type of fragrances where you don't want beast mode fragrance and only need max, 4 very solid hours. This is what this it to me, it smells too good to skip because of performance.

My bottles of La Nuit de L'Homme Intense and The One for Men Parfum arrived in the mail from Italy yesterday, and I'm just formulating my first impressions. Here are my initial thoughts on La Nuit Intense: - not 'intense' compared to original La Nuit. Not even close. This is far softer and less 'in your face'. If you are looking for a louder or darker version of La Nuit original, get the Le Parfum version instead. - not a clone of Dior Homme. I love Dior Homme and Dior Homme Intense....similar genre I guess, but I'm not mistaking this for Dior Homme at all. Far less floral to my nose. - The iris, vanilla and violet in this gives this fragrance a soft, powdery floral scent. Initial thoughts? I like it. I have a bottle of the original La Nuit, but have never warmed up to it. I think other people like La Nuit original more on me than I like it on myself. This is not a projection monster. It's not the kind of fragrance you wear to a club. I do think it's a soft, sensual scent and my first wearing of this has been a positive one.

This fragrance is the perfect example how badly made advertising can play against you. I'm sure if this was presented as La nuit de L'homme L'eau Fraîche would have received much more attention and positive responses. This is exactly opposite of what the advertising shows - strong, intense, sweet night out perfume. No, this is a soft, fresh, relaxing fragrance, suitable for everyday use during the chilly days. And i mean cold weather just because this flanker keeps the warm and mystery aroma of the original La nuit, not because in warmer weather could be overpowering - that wouldn't happen. As for the smell itself, this is a less spicy and more floral take of the original La nuit. Just as Le parfum was more fruity interpretation. Honestly, I like L'intense the most, because the dry down of the original gets too bitter and synthetic on my skin (mean 2016 batch, I never tried the previous). And Le parfum is too soft, even in comparison with this. L'intense just works perfect on me.

This is definitely a love it or hate it fragrance. It is smooth and mysterious, sort of sweet and creamy, but not overpowering or cloying, it is something that I have never smelled before. I dont really why people complain about its performance - I got solid 8h from 1 spritz! Why would you want more?! The days of powerhouses are gone... I love this fragrance for its elegance - it is a different take on refined taste from the one original La Nuit took, but not less valuable and it manages to strike the same note original does - just with different accords! It is for the same crowd and with the same intention - to leave a classy, sexy vibe. alluring and charismatic. In this age of knock offs and inoriginalities, I really dont see a reason to hate L Intense for what it is - a flanker of the original that offers a somewhat different take, kind of a castoreum to civet maybe? One of my top3 from the L Homme line!

I love the smell of La Nuit Intense, just as I really like the smell of Valentino Uomo Acqua. Both fragrances have weak performance, and I was wondering what I could do to directly make them last longer. I tried using Canvas (purchased at Lucky Scent) and that helped , but I didn't want to 'layer'all the time. I also had a bottle of Molecule 01 which I rarely use. I took a decant spray bottle and sprayed 20% Molecule 01 into the bottle and sprayed the remaining 80% with La Nuit Intense (and did the same thing with Valentino Acqua with another decant bottle). I then shook the bottle, and let the fragrance sit overnight. The next day I sprayed this new mixture and the performance of La Nuit Intense was MUCH better. Just a tip if you happen to have ISO E Super/Molecule 01. It did seem to help.

Not too aware of the YVES L'Homme line up, but maybe it's good start as I don't have any biases. First — wow, so unique and charming. It's dark for sure. Autumn & Winter fragrance, but not too official or offensive. It kind of plays on the edge of feminine softness (flowers) to hard hitting dark notes which are Tonka beans, Patchouli, Sage. But not the awful stereotype masculine notes. Ladies love it. This is a fragrance you put on to show a bit of character so it really fits a date night or night out. I heard some people complaining about longevity and sillage — It's decent! I think this scent is very prominent, so if it would be even more noticable it gets over the edge of offensive & insecure boy man trying to boost his apperance. Loving it!

So we have one more "love or hate" frag ... I'm not a fan of YSL frags, but I like this one: Longevity on my skin, which usually rather eats parfumes, is 15 hours ! Iris and violet fade away within 3 or 4 hours, and patchouli and sage make the transition to a very nice combination between tonka and vanilla, none of either being invasive, but very present and for a long long time. I use this frag about once a month, so it still surprises me. Towards the end of it's scent (surprisingly it never mutes to a skin scent), I like spraying a discrete leather frag like Guerlain Cuir Beluga, a fantastic mix IMHO which lasts more than 24 hours and then only finishes with a lovely skin scent of vanilla and Hermes-like veal leather.

Soft and refined. Very elegant and delicate in a manly way. It’s actually pure perfection. I’m constantly on the look out for it as it’s discontinued, I have a couple back up bottles now and to be honest I’d love some more as to my nose it seems to get better with age. I wear it sometimes when I go out in summer as it carries much better in the air. Lingers for ages on clothes. I loose the smell myself then get whiffs of it here and there. But I got into the car with a friend one evening and they were like omg what you wearing it’s so strong. I’m a little puzzled as others can smell it more than I can. Well it is what it is. So if anyone see any for sale do let me know. I personally think it’s a forgotten hidden gem.

I'm late to the LNDLH party but I started checking out some of the big name masculine designers lately and it's probably my favorite. I like this version, but it seems misnamed--the iris isn't as punchy as the cardamon in the OG and the overall effect is smoother and softer, which is saying something considering the OG was already smooth and soft. They're probably not different enough to justify having both unless you're an LNDLH enthusiast... which I am, so I'll probably get a bottle. For anyone who, like me, is wary of fragrances with strong iris notes, don't be scared of this one--this is the best iris note I've smelled and blends so nicely with everything else that I actually really like it for once.

Was able to purchase a bottle recently as I missed out on a sale at Ulta over a year ago. Had to pay $125 for a 3.3 oz bottle but I had to get it. Fell in love with this fragrance recently when I tested it at Ulta a few months ago and they only had a tester bottle. I offered to buy it but they would not sell it. Finally found a bottle that was new and in a box on eBay. I never was an Iris note lover. I was able after time to really appreciate the Iris in Dior Homme and now in this fragrance the Iris is just a classy and alluring scent as it blends with other notes. Especially in the dry down. I have come to the conclusion that I like it better than the OG and Blue Electrique and I love those two.

People expecting a stronger version of La Nuit with more punch don't get the marketing idea - This simply is a big FU by YSL to Dior, because at the time their Homme Intense was such a big success that YSL came to the conclusion that people may also like a powdery and sweet version of THEIR most popular mainstream scent. And so YSL La Nuit de L'Homme L'INTENSE was born as the destined antagonist to Dior's Homme INTENSE. But with less success... Anyways, a pleasant scent for winter days when you're in the mood for something light, uncomplicated and comforting.

Straight up...I'm a sucker for Iris. I have a handful with the note and it works well for me. So this formulation is a real winner in my opinion. The Iris stays right through the life of the fragrance and blends well with the vanilla and Tonka on the dry down. Sweet and seductive this is a great release that can even be layered with the original La Nuit. It's not the strongest in projection or longevity which is it's only downfall on my skin. But there's no arguing that this is a fantastic flanker. perhaps one of the best.

I'm also someone who found a 100 ml bottle of this frag at TJ Maxx for $60. Well worth it at that price. My initial reaction on smelling it was ohhh, this is going to be a date night weapon. It does seem versatile and can work day or night, in warmer or cooler weather (I just wouldn't wear it in high heat during the day). I love rich vanilla fragrances, and the iris and violet makes it very unique compared to anything else in my collection. Very happy with this one, keep an eye out for a bottle at rack stores!

Can't take the place of original but you reputed it's a distinct version then it's good one. Warm and soapy on sweet platform. Great create of warm and clean soapy for night time. Performance is good enough for night meeting session. Since the heavy shadow of the original so this's underrate if you consider it as separate as ones then it's great, a powdery smoothie little fresh and sweet, to me it's like dior homme mix with La Nuit dna and freshness.Good for a night ramble.

As someone who can't stand iris heavy fragrances, I was surprised by how much I like this one. The iris is so well done. It doesn't have a metallic scent to it like Prada and it's not makeupy like Dior. Furthermore, the iris gets pushed back on the dry down and that's when this fragrance stands out the most to me. You can even layer it with the low performing original to add some extra kick. When layered, I get much more longevity out of the original.

Not sure what the people below me are talking about. This lasts forever on my skin and is by far the best thing to come out of the L’Homme and La Nuit lines. This fragrance is complex, you may not fall in love with it immediately but you will if you give it a few wearings. A lot of these people hating on it probably just sprayed it on a card at Macy’s and said nah the chicks won’t dig that and Jeremy Fragrance doesn’t recommend it so it’s no good

Wonderful sweet powdery Iris/Vanilla scent, with a slight touch of spices(clary sage?). But I'm one of the one's that have to agree with the bad performance (Sillage & Longevity). Weak, and short lasting (skin & clothes).... But the scent; sent from heaven. Considering it's current pricing(which isn't that ridiculously high, YET) due to discontinuation a few years ago, I rarely reach for it. Reserved use for special occasions/situations

On me it's more smoky than powdery. Anyway: truly nice close to skin fragrance - the projection is really not huge, but that's fine (not everyone wants to shout he is present). Tonka bean is very prominent. Iris and violets underlined by gentle vanilla and quite strong patchouli. I would call this semi sweet. Definitely colder season suitable. Smells very mature to me and definitely appealing, confident. Longevity is 12 hrs on me. 8/10

I personally love this one for fresh nights outs. Sweet and inviting. Well put together and very enjoyable. Those that compare Dior Homme Intense with this I have no idea how your nose works because they are nothing alike. Smooth and yes not "intense" or extremely long lasting, but still works for some hours...enough to go and meet a girl and make her have a great impression of you, and that's what this fragrance does.

This one is sexy as hell. Way more mature and sophisticated than the original La Nuit, but not in a darker sense. If La Nuit is a night scent to wear with a polo shirt, this is a day fragrance to wear in a white dress shirt at a fancy brunch restaurant. The iris in this reminds me of the iris that Zegna uses, and that's a huge compliment

Why do they not make this anymore . It’s absolutely lovely Powdery violet bliss. It’s catches your nose and you have to take a big sniff. Love it. I spray on clothes last much longer. Or layer with molecule +iris helps it stay longer in skin as it’s flighty. Much nicer than the more talked about Iris make Parfums

The name is misleading, it’s not intense. It’s sweet. I like it a lot, reminds me of the candy Swedish fish. It does have a good longevity on my skin. It’s more for night time fall and winter, date might pccasions. It falls more into that intimate occasion scent.

An elegant, formal, aromatic-woodsy-vanillic scent, with a powdery quality. The vanilla, tonka, violet and iris could lean feminine, but not with the vetiver, sandalwood, and cedar combo used here alongside the aromatic sage and patchouli notes. Posh. High-class.

I prefer this one to the original. Lasts longer. After 3+ hours smells very similair, yet still noticeable. First 30-60 minuts you should avoid cars and close environments. Let it go and then go out. Nice scent. People take it as a classy one.

It's a lovely fragrance. I decided to spray both this and La Nuit de L'Homme on opposite sides of my neck, so I don't know which one I'm still smelling 16 hours later. Next time I'll test this by itself and update this review. But I love it.

it is best of l homme line near the original la nuit it is woody but less spicy and more fruity unique linear with much better performance with 7 hours longevity 10 of 10 best for spring strangly I got from it old grapes note like in wine

To be honest i am not a fan of YSL and i blind buy this fragrance, Ignored whatever bad reviews from others. I got it, tried it and now i LOVE this smell. LONG LASTING, GOOD SILLAGE. Go to test it on your skin and you will know.

However robust this one may seem with its gasoline and crude leather, it has something chocolaty within and I love it. Amazing how none of those notes is listed here :D Oh, well.

*UPDATE* The store advised L'Instense is now discontinued being replaced by the new EDP. Which sucks because the EDP is a terrible release. Disappointed..:(

Since I quite love Iris and Violet, and of course the OG La nuit de l'homme, this discontinued gem is a must for me. Softer performance, but very pleasing.

Most manly perfumes are too sharp, too blunt and too dominant. This one is super elegant and refined! I love it! It's cosy, grounded and very sexy.

scent : 10/10 sillage : 7/10 longevity :7/10 100% night fragrance nice iris and woody scent mix between the original and DHI

Like La Nuit but sweeter, softer and less spicy. More feminine, but I think a guy can still wear it. I think both are great.

divine but discontinued....some type alternative perfumes from ebay are close to 100% similarity ....for 10 bucks

AN INTENSE FLANKER... NEITHER INTENSE NOR FLANKED The last time I checked the French semantics of the name 'La Nuit de L'Homme Intense', I found that it had something to do with men and getting up at night with a certain intensity and perceived strength. Probably "la Maison" YSL needs a semantic lesson or two, because they chose a completely inappropriate name for this fragrance! Why is that? Simply because... - It's quite subtle! I want it to be more intense or stronger. - It smells like a versatile new scent. So it is not a night scent and it is not at all similar to the well-known scent of 'La Nuit de L'Homme'. The characteristic cardamom note is nowhere to be found. - It is a slightly masculine scent because of the patchouli note. It seems to me that it can also be described as unisex. Without the patchouli note, it would undoubtedly be a feminine fragrance. Then there is the strong iris note, with its characteristic lipstick smell, which makes you wonder how masculine it is... I wouldn't judge too much! I find this new YSL fragrance moderately pleasant and seductive. I might even prefer it to the original La Nuit de L'Homme... or maybe not! The scent is quite linear and subtle, but I don't see this as a flaw. During its life I get: - A powdery floral/lipstick accord, thanks to strong iris root and violet floral notes. - Slightly sweet, due to a weaker vanilla and stronger notes of tonka beans. - A subtle peppery note, probably from clary sage. - It's easy to detect a hint of patchouli, with an earthy, woody tone. It turns out to be a well blended scent. It reminds me of two other perfumes with at least one similar mood. I would say Dior Homme for the lipstick scent and Dior Fahrenheit for the violet floral note. In terms of longevity, it is average or below average. It is only slightly better than the current below-average version of La Nuit De L'Homme. Silage and projection are below average and this intense version is no better than the current original EdT. Too bad for YSL, because they know the tricks to create bolder perfumes. As a normal consumer, I tend to get angry when I feel betrayed by a label. It is a situation that unfortunately happens a lot in perfumery. I have the feeling that I have bought a pig in a poke. Is this an intense version? It turns out to be a fragrance that works well on a date or at work. You can even wear it every day. Because of its above-average versatility, it is a fragrance that seems to be good for many different activities. How do I rate this intense "Le Jour De L'Homme"? ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ - Opening: 8.5 (elegant and stylish) - DryDown: 7.5 (similar to opening, but weaker) - Longevity: 7.0 (up to 5-6 hours on my skin with 2 initial sprays, but less for other skin types) - Sillage: 6.0 (sillage up to an arm's length; projection for 1 hour or less) - Versatility: 9.0 (just avoid extreme cold or heat) - Ease of use: 9.0 (unisex perfume; very good for almost all social situations, office, general use, dating and intimacy; do not use in places where you can sweat such as the gym or the beach) - Praise: 7.0 (you'll only get a few nice compliments, but no one will complain about your smell; on the other hand, it's perfect for intimacy) - Exclusivity: 6.0 (some noticeable similarities to Dior Homme and Fahrenheit. The Intense flanker of "La Nuit de L'Homme" it's neither intense, nor a flanker! The last time I checked the french semantics for "La Nuit de L'Homme Intense", it meant that it was something Man related, occurring at night and with quite an intensity and strength. Probably YSL needs a lesson about semantics, as they made up a totally wrong name for this fragrance! Why? Because... - It's quite subtle! It's not intense or strong. - Smells like a versatile new scent... so not really a night fragrance and by no means even slightly related with the "La Nuit de L'Homme" scent and with its major strong cardamom note. - It's a somewhat masculine fragrance due to the patchouli note but it really can be considered unisex as well. Without the patchouli note it would be undoubtedly a feminine fragrance. I do consider this new YSL fragrance as nice and alluring. Actually I prefer this scent to what I get from "La Nuit de L'Homme". It's also pretty linear and subtle, but I do not see that as a defect in this type of perfume. From top to bottom you get: - Some sweetness coming from a faint vanilla note and a strong tonka bean note. - An omnipresent powdery floral accord with a vigorous iris and a more subtle violet note. - A peppery subtle scent coming from sage. - A darker, earthy, woody, but not strong vibe coming from patchouli. It's a very simple fragrance but nevertheless very well blended and on a pair with other (sometimes faint) fragrances with a similar vibe like Dior Homme (Edt and Intense) and Dior Fahrenheit (Edt, Acqua and Absolut). As far as performance is concerned you just get an average longevity (but better than in the current version of "La Nuit de L'Homme") and an under average sillage and projection (similar to the current version of "La Nuit de L'Homme"). Shame on YSL as they know the tricks to make boldier perfumes. This perfume proves to be quite suitable for dating, work environment and as a daily "good for everything" fragrance due to its versatility. How do I rate this "Le Jour du Couple" ("The Day of the Couple" instead of "The Night of the Man") ? - Scent opening: 8.5 (elegant and stylish) - Scent Dry Down: 8.0 (similar to the opening but fainter) - Longevity: 7.0 (up to 5~6 hours on my skin, with 2 initial sprays, but less with other types of skin) - Sillage: 6.0 (sillage peak up to an arm lenght; projection for 1 hour or less) - Versatility: 9.0 (Just avoid extreme cold or heat) - Usability: 9.0 (Unisex perfume; very good for almost all social situations, office, general use, dating and intimacy; don't use it in places where you may sweat like the gym or by the seaside) - Compliments: 7.0 (it will get you just a few non enthusiastic compliments, but nobody will complain about your smell; on the other hand, it's perfect for intimacy) - Uniqueness: 6.0 (some noticeable similarities with Dior Homme and Fahrenheit.
