Manifesto L’Eclat

To start off this review I just want to take a moment to comment on how much I love the shape of this perfume bottle. I don't know about you lovely people but regardless of how good a perfume smells if I do not like the bottle it makes it really hard for me to use the fragrance because I always like to create a beautiful display. I finally blind bought this perfume online after no luck of finding it in any store to sample. This fragrance had been on my wish list for a very long time. I really tried to love the original and elixir because those were the only ones I could find in store, but were just too sweet for me! I do like gourmands, but really classy well done ones that are not screechy/headache inducing. With that being said, I'm not saying the original wasn't well done but it was just too sweet for me making the L'eclat a better option for me. L'eclat, although similar to the other manifestos has the green notes in it that balance it more and stops it from being so sweet. Upon initial spray the perfume is a bit loud and sharp, however after a minute or so this perfume turned into the most beautiful, comforting, classy, feminine scent. Indeed this fragrance is the sparkling, luminous, and fresher one out of the three. I absolutely adore L'eclat! This fragrance is the most beautiful balance between sweet and fresh. Sensual and warm, I think this fragrance is actually perfect for the entire year. I understand why others might not prefer it in the winter because maybe it might not be as bold, but I think a double spritz will make it bold enough and sometimes I actually do love a fragrance that doesn't project as much silage. I enjoy only having those who get close to me smell it. It creates more intimate moments. Although silage isn't as strong in colder weather, in the summer I believe it would be just perfect and I cant wait to use it in warmer weather. L'eclat reminds me of a fragrance that leaves your trail lingering and those who smelt you still remembering you. Perfect for a first date! I'm so happy to have discovered and be a part of fragrantica. I really appreciate all the useful reviews all members leave to help others as this was a blind buy for me and I am very happy. I believe that I have totally found a gem and will buy another back up bottle just in case I struggle getting it again. xx

L’Eclat is a lovely new addition to the Manifesto family. It’s quite an unusual fragrance; feminine and subtle, yet very recognisable with a nice modern edge. Whereas the original Manifesto, as well as the Elixir edition are both very sweet, with a dominant powdery vanilla note; L’Eclat offers a good balance of sweet and fresh. This version is a lot lighter, more versatile and easier to wear. If you find the previous two a little too sweet and heavy- this EDT edition might be perfect for you. The opening of L’Eclat is absolutely divine. It’s very distinctively aromatic, sweet and green all at the same time. In fact, if the opening notes persisted throughout the entire composition, this would probably be one of my favourite fragrances of all time. It’s a real shame that the scent dries down so quickly... The transition from the opening to the drydown is so quick, that I’m not really picking up on the heart notes in-between. There are some soft floral accords lingering in the background (namely freesia and orange blossom), but they are very faint. The drydown is still very pleasant, with the familiar vanilla and tonka bean smoothed out with cashmere and sandalwood. It’s sweet and powdery, and very light, with a hint of something fresh to keep it interesting. It’s recognisably from the ‘Manifesto’ family, but a little shier and gentler than its antecedents. The only real criticism I have of this is the longevity, which isn't great (the scent becomes very faint after 2-3 hours). Thankfully I got the largest bottle, so I can keep respraying just to get to smell the divine opening... Also, I normally don’t go into price tags, but this time, I have to say I was surprised. A full, 90ml bottle of this version was cheaper than the smallest bottle of the original Manifesto (at a full price before reduction), so it might be worth looking into. I strongly recommend this to all the Manifesto fans; but also to those who are just looking for a lovely, soft and sweet fragrance for the spring and summer months. :) ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

I love all things YSL Manifesto but this one in particular stands out and is adored! It has the same amazing fluffy vanilla, the same tangy lime and neroli, the same weighty and grounded sandlewood. The difference could be in the green tea but it's not the same green tea you find in Flowerbomb or Elizabeth Arden Green Teas. It's more aromatic. And there is some note of sugar water, like the kind you might use to make homemade lemonade in the summer with freshly squeezed lemons. It's sweet for sure but not overpowering or heavy. And it doesn't last the whole time, it's just in the opening. The dry down gets back to the more traditional Manifesto which is totally fine with me since, as I said, I love it. They all wear so well and fit plenty of occasions and seasons. I know this seems to many to be a spring/summer flanker, and I can see why since it does feel lighter than the original, but I'd also argue that if you only wanted one Manifesto, this would be an excellent choice and could be worn year round with no problem. This scent makes me happy, makes people around me happy, it represents me well, light but interesting and substantial. Beautifully composed and always makes me want more. My one and only issue is that of all of them, this Manifesto lasts the least amount of time on my skin and requires the most frequent re-application. Yes, I enjoy the opening notes so much that it doesn't bother me to smell them over and over again, but, it is hard to profess my love for such a divine scent when I can't wholeheartedly endorse it's quality. I am certain YSL can find a way to increase its endurance. Once they have done that, I can give a 10/10. Until then, I still give this a very stron 9/10!

It actually smells like a lighter, smoother version of Armani's Si to me, Si with the sharp edges filed down (both are sweet vanillas with a 'crisp & clean' woody/green aspect, note that they share alot of notes in common too), crossed with the regular Manifesto. It is also vaguely reminiscent of Dior Addict 2012, but minus the depth and darkness...this fragrance is all about light and tenderness. It was love at first sniff! But when it got difficult to find, I went for Si instead. It's that clean, green feel to it contrasting with the loveliest syrupy vanilla that got me hooked...it has this beautiful, ethereal vibe. If I am to be completely honest, Manifesto L'Eclat smells better than Si (going by smell alone)...and it's not easy to admit that as Si is my signature! If this was more widely available, more concentrated and had better staying power, it would be my signature instead of Si. Now, Si may be abit rougher around the edges and abit less refined, but it wins in the sillage/longevity and availability departments, hands down. Si is also more 'bang for my buck' because I don't need to spray much, it's more potent and has more presence, whilst Manifesto L'eclat is more discrete and delicate, too balanced and peaceful to make a statement. But by itself, L'Eclat's longevity is not too shabby, 7-8 hours when I tested it on my skin, with soft-moderate sillage... gets close to the skin sooner than I prefer though. I personally wouldn't wear this in summer due to the sweetness (we get really warm, sweaty summers here), and it's too delicate for the dead of winter ...but it's perfect for spring, fall, and winter's early days.

I love this! The opening is very interesting with the tea and green notes combined with vanilla. It is fresh and inviting but cool at first. The dry down is exquisite and quite different to the opening. It reminds me of a much more gentle pure poison and I really want to re-purchase pure poison now because this is so good! The dry-down is a warm and cuddly vanilla-floral. It really is a skin-scent but I think that's what's great about it - you can smell like sexy pure poison only for people you actually WANT to smell you, rather than smelling delicious to everybody you pass. Think a day or work appropriate version of pure poison that gives you more of a refreshing feeling because of the tea. It smells very expensive and even though the opening is quite unusual and different to other perfumes, it somehow reminds me of something from the past. I'm not sure exactly what it reminds me of but it brings back happy memories. Sadly this seems to have been discontinued and it is not that easy to find any more. I got a bottle for a reasonable price but I will probably not repurchase unless it is still available in many years for the same kind of price.

Wow Manifestó L'Eclat was a blind buy for me that totally took me by surprise a succulent explosion of Vanilla Currant buds and Tonka bean that enveloped my body and soul... Sensuality in a bottle Absolutely amazing and warm yet refreshing, the green tea accord with bergamot and vanilla slowly warms ups with the tonka bean, Mysore sandalwood and cashmere woods leaving a woodsy trail. Oh my so delicious! If you are into vanilla, tonka bean and currant buds, this is a must have! YSL Manifesto L'Eclat When it dries up almost feels like ADDICT by Dior. The YSL L'Eclat maybe a bit fresh and greener but equally just as sexy and enticing Sillage and longevity are great!

I love the original Manifesto and while this very similar, it's a bit lighter. I would describe the original as a woodsy vanilla and this as a green vanilla. Either way, both great renditions of vanilla. I appreciate the way the vanilla is not surrounded by a lot of fruits and florals. Vanilla can take an odd turn on my skin when it's surrounded by too many fruity or floral notes. This smells like pure aromatic vanilla goodness all the way through. I also love the powdery drydown. The powdery note comes through a little earlier in the original. The sillage and longevity are exceptional for an EDT. I love the Manifesto line, it's just beautiful.

I am wearing this today, I have tried the original but found it too sickly sweet and it only lasted about 2 hours. The éclat however is a much more beautiful fragrance. It is still quite similar to the original but it is less sweet and somehow seems warmer and just nicer to my nose. I wouldn't say it is lighter but perhaps it's the addition of the green notes that are making this more appealing to me. It is a beautiful subtle vanilla that is not overpowering and would easily suit any time of day or occasion. I would love to have this for the cooler winter weather. I sprayed it 4 hours ago and it's still going strong!

I own this and the original. I sprayed the original on one arm and this on the other arm. At first they smell exactly the same to me. After about an hour and they have completely dried down, this is more woody on my skin, where as the original is sweeter. Apart from that I find no difference in them. I think I like this more, simply because I like woody scents. As I have only had them for a few days, I may change my mind on which one I like the best, but I'm certainly leaning in the direction of this one at the moment.

Manifesto L'eclat eau de toilette is a great mix of Vanilla, Tonka and Cashmere wood, warm, sexy, cosy, flrity, womanish. This one reminds me of DKNY Cashmere MIst - but they have different top and middlenotes. They are like sisters in basnote. Manifesto L'eclat eau de Toilette är en ljuvlig mix av Vanilj, Tonka, Cashmere. Varm, kramig, sexig, flirtig och otroligt kvinnlig. Denna påminner lite om DKNY Cashmere mist - men de har lite olika topp och mellanoter. De strålar samman i den varma mjuka basen.

Manifesto L'Éclat has all the qualities of the original Manifesto without the bland, dull finish that I disliked. The addition of green tea and white florals makes this version easier to wear in daytime, youthful and even more glamour. And it LASTS. I'm used to eaux de parfum who stay maximum 4 hour on my skin. This is an eau de toilette and one spray lasts 7 hours and more, while creating a great sensual sillage. I'm so happy !

They did it! After 2 attempts they succeeded. Well yes, this is a feminist YSL perfume. Green, slightly vanilla, aromatic, strong but with a personal coating, dignified, vertical and most important cold. What can I say, good job YSL maybe you will even manage to recover the feminist public you had in the 90's after all. Hmm 🤔 I could have sworn they wouldn't be able to launch such a fragrance type...never say never.

This is my favorite of the 4 versions, I've tested them all. This one is the most uplifting, easy-going scent. I don't so much sense the citrus, but more the acidity of it. Still every single one of them made my head go dizzy when I inhaled them up close for too long. They have this calming tranquilizing quality to them, that can be perceived as mind-fogging.

Not as great as the "Elixir Manifesto" (which is a masterpiece) but better than the original "Manifesto". This one remains a beautiful oriental scent, high-end and seductive but less powdery or creamy. Spring floral energy, but also more of a greener Vanilla ! ❤️ Very different from the boring current trend on the market... 9/10

Beautifully green vanilla with breezy jasmine & orange blossom all on a woody vanilla-tonka base. Sweet and warm oriental, but with a definite lightness that is very approachable and comforting. Perfect for warm weather, especially if you find Manifesto overwhelming in the warmer months. Lasts for around 6-8 hrs.

On my skin, this feels like a fresher, more wearable version of Emporio Armani Lei. I’ve noticed that whenever a fragrance includes some kind of tea note, I instantly find it refreshing and intriguing, and this one’s no exception. I love the classic Manifesto, and I enjoy this one a lot as well.

I bought a 100ml bottle and it arrived broken. But the smell is fantastic. I have no idea how it would be on skin but it smells like a version that you could enjoy in warm weather. I will definetly get another!!

This is the nicest version to me. I found the others too sweet & cloying, this is the Vanilla & Orange Blossom featherbed I had really wanted. Elegant, understated & distinctive.

I like Manifesto, I love Manifesto l'elixir, I adore Manifesto l'eclat! It has a green note that makes it more " wearable" . It's not headache inducing, for sure!

top: botanical, sweet, zesty middle: rose, jasmine, freezie kind of smell base: same as middle notes this is so underrated! a beautiful fragrance, 9 /10.
