After experiencing both the original MYSLF EDP and the richer MYSLF Le Parfum, this final installment offers an opportunity to see how the brand continues to evolve the DNA that has quickly become one of the most talked about modern designer fragrance profiles. The MYSLF line has built its identity around a blend of bright aromatics, soft florals, and smooth woody warmth, anchored by the signature presence of orange blossom. On paper, L'Absolu appears to revisit that familiar foundation while introducing additional spice and floral texture, potentially positioning itself somewhere between the freshness of the original and the sweetness of the Le Parfum. With the trilogy now complete, the question becomes whether this final chapter manages to refine the formula or simply revisit familiar territory. Let’s see how MYSLF L'Absolu ultimately expresses itself once it meets the skin. Opening: The opening is citrusy, floral, and spicy. The primary notes I get are bergamot, orange blossom, cardamom, and ginger, with the bergamot and orange blossom clearly leading the composition. Bergamot immediately jumps off the skin with a bright and sparkling citrus accord that feels vibrant and uplifting, accompanied by the subtle bitterness that often defines bergamot notes. The signature orange blossom of the MYSLF line quickly follows, introducing the same creamy white floral character that ties the collection together. In this version, however, the orange blossom feels closer in style to the one found in the EDP, emphasizing a fresher and airier profile with a clean laundry-like brightness rather than the deeper sweetness found in Le Parfum. Beneath these two notes, cardamom adds a warm and gently aromatic spice that introduces complexity without disrupting the balance of the opening. Ginger works alongside it to provide a more lively and effervescent burst of spice, giving the composition an invigorating lift that keeps the fragrance feeling energetic. Supporting these elements is a soft layer of additional floral texture from the general floral accord, which expands the floral character beyond the orange blossom itself. In the background, patchouli contributes the faintest hint of dark sweetness and earthy depth, quietly grounding the brighter elements. The result is a vibrant introduction where sparkling citrus, airy florals, and lively spice create a fresh yet textured opening. Dry Down: The dry down is sweet, floral, and spicy. Orange blossom remains a focal point in this stage, continuing to deliver the same creamy white floral character that defines the MYSLF line while still giving off that distinctive clean laundry-like freshness. In the dry down, however, it is joined almost equally by patchouli, which has shifted away from the faint earthiness present earlier and now leans fully into a darker, richer, almost chocolatey sweetness. This adds weight and depth to the base while giving the fragrance a more indulgent character. Cardamom continues to support the composition from underneath, reinforcing the warm and aromatic spice introduced in the opening while blending smoothly with the sweetness of the patchouli. In the background, the additional floral accord contributes subtle freshness and texture, helping to keep the dry down from feeling overly dense. At times, the combination of pronounced sweetness and spice brings to mind aspects of Dior Sauvage Elixir. As the fragrance continues to dry down further, the orange blossom fades and those similarities to Sauvage Elixir become much more pronounced. Performance: Projection opens at a very strong level, easily capable of filling a room within the first hour and immediately establishing a commanding presence. Sillage matches that intensity, leaving behind a dense and clearly noticeable scent trail that reinforces the fragrance’s rich floral and spicy character. After approximately three to four hours, performance remains strong, with projection still hovering around six feet and the scent trail remaining easily perceptible while moving. As the fragrance continues to develop, performance gradually softens. Around the seven to eight hour mark, projection settles closer to three to five feet while the scent trail becomes lighter but still noticeable. The fragrance eventually transitions into a skin scent somewhere around the ten to twelve hour mark. Overall, this represents a clear improvement in performance compared to both the EDP and Le Parfum, making L'Absolu the strongest performer in the MYSLF lineup so far. When to Wear: MYSLF L'Absolu returns to the versatility established by the EDP. The fragrance is suitable for wear year round and works comfortably during both the day and the evening. Its bright and fresh opening allows it to shine in daytime settings and during the warmer months, while the richer and sweeter dry down gives it enough depth to feel appropriate in the evening or during cooler weather. In terms of occasion, the fragrance adapts easily to a wide range of situations. It can be worn casually in everyday settings, dressed up for formal environments, or reserved for special occasions such as date nights. Despite its stronger performance, it can also function in an office environment as long as the application is kept moderate. Overall, MYSLF L'Absolu proves to be a highly adaptable fragrance capable of fitting into nearly any setting. Blind Buy: MYSLF L'Absolu strays the furthest from the established MYSLF DNA, so it may not be the safest blind buy if your expectations are based solely on enjoying the EDP or Le Parfum. While the signature orange blossom remains present, the added emphasis on spice, sweetness, and patchouli gives the fragrance a noticeably different balance compared to the other two entries in the line. That said, the overall scent profile still sits comfortably within the familiar modern designer category. It avoids any unusual or polarizing elements and remains broadly mass appealing in its construction. Because of this, it will likely still be a safe blind buy for most people, even if it represents a slightly different interpretation of the MYSLF concept. Final Verdict: Going into this final entry in the MYSLF line, I was hoping I had saved the best for last, and in this case that turned out to be true. MYSLF L'Absolu essentially takes the strongest elements from both the EDP and Le Parfum, combining the bright freshness of the original with the richer sweetness introduced in the Le Parfum while also noticeably improving the performance. The opening feels very reminiscent of the EDP with its vibrant citrus and airy orange blossom, while the dry down leans closer to the heavier, sweeter territory explored in the Le Parfum. As the fragrance settles, the sweetness and spice take on a character that, as mentioned, feels reminiscent of Dior Sauvage Elixir. While the prominent orange blossom keeps it clearly within the MYSLF identity, that deeper and spicier base gives the fragrance a more traditionally masculine feel than the other entries in the line. Performance is another clear highlight, showing a noticeable improvement over the previous two versions and allowing the fragrance to maintain a strong presence throughout much of the wear. If I were choosing just one fragrance from the MYSLF lineup, L'Absolu would easily be my pick. That said, because I already own Sauvage Elixir and the two share some overlapping qualities in the dry down, it ultimately feels a bit redundant for my current collection. *************************************************** Edit; New review 14/07/26. I have to put my hands up and admit I may have vastly underestimated L'Absolu! I'll leave my earlier thoughts in place but I feel quite different now, it's gone from a like to a love for sure. As below, I didn't gel initially and wore it scarcely only picking it up to use it as a gym scent on occasion. The scent either became more deep and nuanced or my nose adapted to how good it really is. Perhaps it's both! It's (now) stronger and as I've decided its more than a gym scent it's been seeing me through a whole day easily, still detectable the following morning. In fact I've been able to pick it up on my bedding for several days after wearing, so it's got longevity. The projection was ok but again, perhaps due to sitting for a bit it's reaching out for several metres initially before settling down to a couple of meters for another few hours. It's always easily noticeable as a heavier skin scent for 10-12 hours, more in lower temperatures. As designer fragrances go this has turned out to be at the top of the tree for me. I'd actually consider repurchasing L A'bsolu when its low, I don't say that often about many mainstream fragrances. Alongside Prada ocean le parfum and Gucci guilty love edition it's one of the few designer offerings I often consider for a days wear.when I'm out and about. *************************************************** Old review; It's nice, possibly a little more! The opening is lovely, encapsulating even. You can easily pick out the citrus, floral and spicy elements individually but has a whole the blend offers a lovely rounded easy reach fragrance. Although not listed I find a touch of ginger and the occasional waft of mint. I imagine this is the patchouli blending with the other notes! This gives it a nice freshness that's a little different to the majority. I'd happily wear this in warmer or cooler weather, day or evening. Office safe but can transition to evening activities with a reapplication. I'm trying my best to remove my adoration and preference for niche brands these days and as a designer fragrances this is alright! Again, this was a purchase before I fell Into the wormhole of Orto Parisi, Lorenzo Pazzaglia and the like! So if I'm honest, anything mainstream has become a little redundant after years of designer led creations! Im rotating most of my previously purchased high street fragrances for gym use as it'd be a crime to waste them, for that this scent is ideal. Performance wise, initial sprays stay strong for an hour or so at a metre. Then it noticeably declines and comes much closer until after a couple more hours it's just intimate, not much more than a skin scent. A good all-rounder, sits across a few genres and does well to represent them all.

YSL MYSLF Absolu opens with a fresh blend of fizzy citrus and clean florals accented by a noticeable ginger spice. The familiar MYSLF laundry-like character is immediately recognizable, but the brighter citrus and sparkling ginger make the opening more engaging than the EDT or EDP. The signature grape-like sweetness is still present, though it’s much better integrated into the composition rather than standing apart. The fragrance feels slightly sharper than the other MYSLF releases while remaining on the airy side. After the first hour, the composition smooths into a cohesive sweet laundry floral profile. A noticeable woody backbone gives the fragrance more depth than the EDT or EDP, while the ginger settles into a pleasant general spiciness that quietly supports the floral accord. The increased projection is immediately apparent, giving the fragrance more presence without sacrificing its versatility or becoming overwhelming. The drydown remains largely faithful to the MYSLF DNA. The woods gradually blend into the floral accord before taking on a subtle ambery warmth in the final hours. That warm woody foundation adds a small but welcome layer to the familiar clean laundry profile, making the late wear feel a little richer than the EDP while still maintaining the line’s signature identity. Overall, this is the best MYSLF in the lineup. I wish the brighter citrus and spicy opening lasted longer, but the increased strength and the slight improvements to the drydown make this the most complete version of the DNA. It keeps everything that makes the original appealing while adding just enough depth and performance to elevate it. For me, this is THE clean designer fragrance. Score: 8.5/10

So I've been hearing a lot of people talking about the new Myslf edt intense. To the point I road to Lansing today to get a whiff. Underwhelming is an understatement. So I smelled the rest of them. I skin tested edt intense and absolu.. The other two I paper tested. I found absolu to be the most unique. It got my attention to say the least. I wasnt ready yet. Got home after a 30 minute ride home on the bike. Took off my gloves. Smelled that absolu, and instantly went online and purchased a bottle. You could say I've been around the block and have smelled a few things. My collection is around 100. Im a noob at heart. Love my simple fresh citrus summer colognes. But I will say this. Ive not smelled anything that has got me this pumped up about a fragrance, the way this did, in some years. Honestly didn't think it was possible. Im sure im a minority in the opinion that this has an almost Dior ish quality about it. What i mean is this has a luxurious vibe about it. May be due to the concentration, as I only own high concentration Dior frags, such as Fahrenheit parfum, Sauvage Elixir, and Homme Parfum. All smelling stupid luxurious, imo. I don't wear them though. I wear mostly Chanel fragrances. This is only my 3rd YSL fragrance. The first being Y edpi and shortly after, Y elixir. Myslf absolu is a superior fragrance, imo. I cant say the line itself is superior. I didn't really care for the other 3, and the one I specifically went to smell was my least favorite.

I am a huge fan of YSL fragrances except most of the Y line which I find cloying and synthetic (but I quite liked the new iced cologne need more time to test though). I really enjoy most of L' Homme and LNDL fragrances and I already have MYSLF EDP. It is a nice and pleasant scent but comes a bit harsh to my nose and I find the scent not that interesting. Today I tried L'Absolu for the first time and I loved it. The opening felt a bit overpowering but not in a bad way. I got citrus with a bit of fresh spice and metallic notes. It was good but not what I expected. After that I get some powdery florals with some sweetness but not to much just enough to balance the freshness from the citrus. Maybe it's the cardamom which is responsible for that but I never really smell cardamom as a prominent note. The blend feels well balanced and refined. In the drawdown it feels a bit sweeter and warm but not heavy at all more like clean fresh ironed laundry steaming with a touch of powdery florals still in the background. Need more time to test for sure but first impressions are really positive. If I could describe it as a mixture I would say it reminds of MYSLF EDP/LNDL EDT/PRADA L'HOMME like 65%/20%/15% split. It's the price of it that makes me want to wait more before getting a full bottle, or maybe a good clone of this hits the market by that time. Need to get my nose on Le Parfum too. 9/10

I was in my local perfume shop browsing some fragrances. I needed something versatile for work since my Bleu de Chanel EDP was running out. Opens up with a refreshing blast of bergamot, ginger and cardamom. A very mass appealing opening, but popular for a reason. It’s super fresh and slightly spicy. Then once the opening fades, the florals become pronounced. I smell slightly warm and slightly sweet white flowers and orange blossom resting on a bed of masculine patchouli. Silage seems to range from moderate to strong depending on how much you spray. It lasts a full eight hour day, though i would reapply a single or two sprays to keep it bright. In my opinion this is still slightly overpriced. You could’ve bought a niche fragrance after all, but i fear that niche isn’t always as versatile and mass-appealing as designer. Fragrance is art, just like music, clothing or even cars, but let’s not forget that it’s also an everyday product. You’re not going to listen to avant-garde music every day, wear that 1500$ leather coat or drive your weekend car. Sometimes you need to be practical and mass appealing, so you’re going to play some Justin Timberlake, wear a RL quarter zip, take that shitty Toyota for a spin while throwing on eight sprays of YSL MYSLF L’Absolu before going to work. I needed a fragrance for work and this nails exactly what i want. 88/100

I’m the first to admit it...I’m a prick when it comes to judging fragrances. I’ve been collecting for over 20 years so I’ve seen my fair share of lazy, uninspired money grabs by designer houses who couldn’t care less about anything except the dollar. I wouldn’t consider myself an expert by any means, but I do enjoy a fragrance that evokes some sort of an emotional response in my brain. I appreciate the occasional safe designer release but the industrial driven generic nose blasts that drive this new generation into hype mode, just straight up piss me off. Now....onto this one. This may be the best fragrance that pushes the boundaries of mass appeal. It’s so abundantly pleasant and overwhelmingly good that I feel its antagonizing other designer releases. It’s the bully who mocks the rest of them yet always comes out on top, because here, Karma doesn’t exist. You’re going to spend hundreds on new LVs, Creeds Ex Nihilos or Amouages, yet this one will probably put the most smiles on your face. It’s kinda funny because to me, this fragrance represents everything that’s predictable, boring, safe and wrong with the fragrance industry, yet I keep finding my nose on my wrist every single time I wear it. I should hate this one, but it is so freaking good, that I smile and laugh at the cliche. Kudos MYSLF L’Absolu. You’ve won over a prick like me.

I wasn’t planning to buy this the first time I smelled it. I walked away, kept thinking about it, and eventually came back for it. That alone says something. The opening is bright and energizing, clean citrus with a polished edge. It immediately feels put together without trying too hard. There’s lift, but it’s controlled. Nothing sharp or synthetic. As it dries down, it shifts into something smoother and more grounded. The orange blossom and amber warmth start to show, giving it a quietly attractive quality. Not loud. Not sweet-heavy. Just composed and modern. What I appreciate most is how wearable it is. It works in close environments without overwhelming anyone, yet it still feels refined and intentional. It doesn’t project aggression or drama, it projects structure. This isn’t a flashy niche statement piece. It’s a contemporary masculine scent that feels aligned rather than performative. The kind you wear when you want to feel steady, sharp, and quietly confident. Not groundbreaking, but very well executed. Scent: 8.5/10 | Longevity: 8/10 | Projection: 7/10 | Overall: 8.5/10

This is my favorite MYSLF flanker because the added ginger and cardamom give it much more warmth and depth and makes it easily wearable any time of year, day or night. I find the EDP and Le Parfum perfectly unisex, but L’Absolu is much more masculine-leaning because it’s florals share the stage with these spices. I also really like the way the earthy pachouli is done here...it’s ever slightly more prominent, adding to the masculine lean of this fragrance. For uses, this is an easy year-rounder, but pretty perfect for summer nights. It lasts forever, at least on my skin (like 8-10 hours depending on the day), and it radiates nicely - about an arms length for the first hour or two, then it begins to dial back. Compared to the EDP, L'Absolu is much more sweet and dense into the deep dry down, whereas the EDP ends up smelling like clean laundry. This helps L'Absolu work better if you want to use it at night in colder seasons. Overall, I really like the MYSLF line, and I look forward to YSL making dozens of more flankers for years to come. 8.9/10.

As one of the first fragrances I get my hands on, I find it as a pleasant surprise. Floral's are getting more common in fragrances but YSL has a unique take on it. Unlike most, Absolu takes the soapy fresh DNA of MYSLF and spikes up the sweetness with sweet orange-blossom nuances and syrupy like floral's. The start is consisted of bright bergamot and ginger and the heart notes and base take over quickly and provide the iconic scent of this fragrance. Once past the floral's and initial sweetness, a strong patchouli base with slight sweetness is what you get from the remaining longevity of this fragrance. If looking for a nice first sweet-floral/signature scent, this is a considerable pick -primarily safe blind buy for sweet floral fragrances -strong projection at the beginning, very noticeable form others (2-3 hrs) -remaining notes last long and are a personal scent bubble (remaining (4-6 hrs) -mass appealing given its arguably unisex -may be redundant if you obtain the original MYSLF -rather different from the warm nuances of the Le Parfum

Compared to the classic Myself, this version feels sharper, more angular, and brighter. It has a more dynamic and masculine touch. The scent comes across as more metallic, more radiant, and slightly harsher, yet it still carries the exact same DNA as the original Myself. It has a fairly dense composition that plays on multiple facets at once, fresh, floral, woody, and spicy, making it feel energetic and distinctly masculine. The performance is noticeably improved, with stronger longevity and a more powerful, masculine presence. If Myself represents a soft and gentle man, Myself Absolu feels like a more intense, slightly angrier version of that same character. It doesn’t lose its identity, but becomes sharper and more defined. Of course, it may not reach the depth and complexity of niche fragrances, but within the designer world, both versions are more than satisfying, versatile, elegant, and easy to wear. Just like the original Myself, Myself Absolu is also very likely to get compliments, especially from women.

Le absolu is really one of the ones. I finished an entire 100ml bottle of this in abt 3 months give or take. There was never a time, in that 3 month period, where I couldnt reached for it. It’s so unbelievably versatile. School, work, night outs/date nights. I wore this scent to my Dental Aptitude Test for gods sake😭. Don’t even get me started on the amount of compliments I’ve received from it... From family, friends, my ex, acquaintances... it’s genuinely such a phenomenal fragrance. I found myself consistently reaching for this designer masterpiece, over other high-end niche fragrances in my collection. I yearned for it at every occasion. If I were only to wear one fragrance for the rest of my life it would be Le Absolu. I will 100% be purchasing another bottle of it. Maybe not now, since I have other fragrances to finish, but eventually, I will. As a matter of fact, I hold this fragrance in such high regards that if I ever do get married, it will be my wedding day scent.

I love the MYSLF DNA I bought Le Parfum last year and wanted something similar but more for the summer and without that vanilla and less spicy, and this is just that but with a very mild spicy ginger scent. Performance is great same with the silliage the scent is mass appealing very floral and fresh and clean, opening in harsh but after 2 minutes it smells turns into a beautiful clean floral fragrance that surprisingly performs really well and has really good projection, but the price on the thing is a crime against humanity, 220$ for a 100ml designer bottle is a rip off especially when you can buy a way better niche summer ginger fragrance from sospiros vibrato for the same price. thankfully the store that was selling it had a very nice sale going on if not I couldn't justify buying this. Also whoever designed this bottle also deserves to be thrown in jail, holy finger print magnet every time I spray it have to wipe off my finger prints off the bottle

Perfect all-purpose cold/freezing weather fragrance for me, where my staples from Terre d'Hermes and H24 lineups do not hold up (fresh notes clash with freezing cold air) and Guerlain L'Homme Ideal is too sophisticated for casual situations. Best longevity out of everything I've tried. Ginger opening gives it a masculine-leaning character, gently transitions to clean unscented laundry and white florals and then settles into warm, soft, pleasant patchouli that stays for the whole day on skin and for days on clothes even after one spray. The transitions are seamless. What a high quality, minimalistic blend. So glad I've received this as a gift, because I wouldn't have even tried it myself based on notes, tacky marketing etc. Looking forward to wearing this in warmer weather and intrigued by the votes that suggest it's even better then than in winter.

In my opinion, this is the standout from the line—at least from what I’ve tried so far. Right off the top, I get these beautiful, fresh florals wrapped in a touch of ginger. The orange blossom comes across airy and refined, never leaning into a sharp citrus direction. It’s soft, delicate, and just incredibly well done. The patchouli in the base gives it some grounding, adding a subtle depth that pushes it slightly toward a more masculine-leaning unisex profile. At its core, it sits in that “clean laundry” style category, but it executes it nearly perfectly. It may not be the most complex scent out there, but it absolutely delivers on what it sets out to do. Performance isn’t amazing on my skin—more on the lower end of moderate—but it’s still serviceable. Overall, I’d give this a solid 9 out of 10.

Current favorite designer in my collection. You feel like a pretty boy while wearing it because of the elegant florals and sort of earthy chocolatey patchouli in the deeper drydown. Still a very versatile any season any occasion fragrance but I would not reach for this first on extremely hot days as I prefer a more citrus or fruity scent on those days. I've noticed some people say that this is a feminine fragrance but nah I'd say it def leans masculine, just because it has florals doesnt make it completely feminine. On a first date I will be reaching for myslf l'absolu or percival. Top tier fragrance cause its great in an office/school setting while also being good at night/going out. I get 8-9 hrs with moderate projection. Overpriced at retail, make sure to get it on sale or from a discounter.

I almost didn't write this because this feels like one of those fragrances that's better left undiscovered. I gave it two sprays on my arm at Sephora. Within minutes, another customer asked what I was wearing and bought a bottle after smelling it on me. A couple of hours later, my wife, who has never cared about most of my fragrances, stopped me and asked what I was wearing because I smelled amazing. Later, my cab driver complimented it, and when I got home, my sister-in-law did the same. Even after a shower, I could still catch traces of it. Needless to say, I bought backup bottles. This has officially become my "any excuse to wear it" fragrance. If YSL ever reformulates this, I'll be mourning. Bonus tip: layer it with MYSLF EDP and prepare to answer, "What are you wearing?" more than once.

I didn't do a side by side but this and the EDP smell pretty much identical to me, especially in the drydown. I own the EDP and wear it a lot and this felt like I was wearing the same thing. The performance, however, was stellar. MYSLF EDP is my definition of "perfectly average" performance. MYSLF Le Parfum is also quite similar to EDP in terms of performance. Now I don't have magic skin, if anything fragrances tend to last a bit shorter on me. But L'Absolu was absolutely radiant on my skin, this thing lasts and projects like crazy. In fact, may be the longest lasting designer freshie I've tried, maybe excluding the Kenzo Homme line. I don't really need this one though as I already have the Edp. I'd say L'Absolu <-> Edp are 90% similar, and Le Parfum <-> Edp/L'absolu 70% similar

Got this one about a week ago and that's all the time I needed to make up my mind on this fragrance. It's a nice clean floral/citrus scent that somehow leans masculine. The performance is very good for how clean and fresh it is, lasting over 9 hours on my skin with lotion. I'm enjoying wearing this on hot summer days, summer nights, and I look forward to wearing it into fall and winter. It's super versatile for almost any occasion, and definitely is my favorite ysl fragrance I've smelt. The price point is steep for a designer, but I paid $110 for 2oz and I still would say it's worth it. Overall a great versatile scent that isn't super generic but is still mass appealing. 9.7/10

I think I might be in love with MYSLF!! Ok...that sounded so wrong. LOL!! I ended up getting the travel bottle of the L'Absolu, from Sephora online. I'm a woman and I love this. I think it smells fabulous!! My favorite thing about it, is that it has the power to calm me down. Maybe it's the ginger. I wore it for 10 straight days, and that never happens. While my husband was in the hospital, I sprayed it on for comfort and strength. I definitely feel, that this is unisex and I really enjoy that. It has a nice balance of woody and floral notes. I think it would smell great on a guy or a girl. Now excuse me, while I have a love affair with MYSLF. Hee Hee!!
