Paris Premieres Roses 2013

Can not wear the original Paris, sadly. This is my "wear to church" scent. My classy, elegant, feminine floral. I brought this with me from my grandmother's house after she died. Her best-friend from Florida had sent it to her as a gift and she loved it and wore it often. It is special to me and always will be. I tend to wear it in the summer months for special occasions, too. Sometimes, I pick up the bottle and just sniff and remember my beautiful grandmother who loved flowers and roses, in particular.

This is lovely! A soft, fresh rose with a clean creamy base. It is a bit soapy but without the iris that is so typical. It makes for a beautiful, clean creamy rose that doesn't get lost in a musty haze. It stays close to the skin which I love and is very easy to wear. It lasted on my skin for about 8 hours! At the final stage of drydown it smelled just like Nivea cream! I love it!

As previous reviewers have said, it has no lasting power, but that's to be expected from an Eau de toilette legere... That being said, it starts as the original Paris, which I know and love, greeting me with its beautiful violets. A few seconds later, I am caressed by the most lovely, freshest rose bouquet. Yummy! It is a very personal fragrance that is feminine, uplifting, and joyous. It makes me feel as if I'm holding a bouquet of fresh pink roses. I love spraying it all over my body right after the shower, makes me feel so clean and refreshed! It fades away quickly, but the scent lingers only at skin level. This makes it appropriate for the office or workplace, since it is unlikely you'll offend anyone with a sensitive nose around you. Wear this in Spring, when the first roses start to bloom :)

Light, soft and powdery. Very pleasant skin scent, but on me not very long lasting. I couldn't wear Paris, so was thrilled when I could wear this 2013 version. My feeling is this is a nice daytime fragrance, for spring/summer.

Working my way through this Paris edition because it simply doesn't last long. Light airy whisper of roses with a creamy white musky base, oh how I wish it would stay with me longer and not be in such a hurry to disappear.

Disappears in two minutes! Two absolute freaking minutes! Don't know if something is wrong with my skin or the perfume. Otherwise it is a nice, creamy and delicate rose fragrance. Too bad has the lasting power of... sorry no lasting power at all.

It's not that I don't WANT to like the original Paris, I really do - But I just CAN'T. But with this - YES. It's like somebody att YSL read my mind: "Oh I see!; It's this and that that you don't like. No problem! We'll just replace it with this and that that you DO like! What do you think?" And I think: YES! This is exactly what I wanted! Like a laundromat rose-bouquet with fresh blooming rose-hip bushes on the side. Not exactly "Paris" - More like ..."Grandmas Garden". The violets, rosehips and the bluebells. Mixed with a soapy musk. This is spring/summer in an adorable little bottle.

Initially I was impressed with this perfume. Nice Rosey, powdery scent but not overpowering in anyway. I thought it was perfect but after wearing it for a few weeks now I must admit I find it quite unremarkable. It is virtually undetectable on me after a few minutes. I ask everyone if they like my perfume and they say 'what perfume?' Must be my body chemistry I suppose. So disappointed with this one.

I love Paris, and this version indeed reminds me of the original perfum but... it is too light. After 20 minutes it becomes almost a nonexistent scent. I know it's still there, on my skin, but I don't feel like I'm wearing perfum at all. I didn't expect such a poor sillage. Still, the scent itself is a really soft beautiful rose scent. Creamy and a little bit soapy too.
