Rive Gauche Light

This is diffrerent to the original , more freeshia based. there is citris at first but this settles and musk and powder take over, freeshia stays all through with bergamot & powdery rose. nice enough and perfect for any weather but expecialy summer. A slightly softer version of rive gauche exactly as it says on tin but Not a skin scent at all , lighter only a touch, it still has enough about it , this was a limited edition, hard to get now as it was only out for a couple of years, around 2004 or just after Tom Ford and gucci took over two for a bit. Daniela Roche Andrea of famous Prada infusion d iris was nose behind this version of rive gauche, also Tom Ford revamped ysl around 2003, this version was under his creative direction. The Gucci brand bought YSL i think around this time. Ysl has changed hands a few times, but i can feel tom ford and daniella Andreas and tom Fords imprint on this version. It's not quite as amazing as the original EDT but pleasant still. compared to the original it's lighter and softly lemony, powder but soft ,even the musk notes in this are very soft, i dont get musk in the usual rive gauche, so its a note i enjoy in this version. lasts long on skin too. skin smells pretty , dewy, powdery and leaves a lovely musky trail just as other reviewer said. I cant smell it too much from any long distance but up close and personal this is a really wonderful and wafts softly, in fact compared with the watery 2014 reforms for all fragrance houses this is probably an excellent edt. vetiver rose and freesia are dominant. My boyfriend nailed it when he said it's smells a little like soft icing sugared Turkish delight sweets , deffinatly a hint towards those :) could be the type of rose used ? I love the original its so interesting, stunning, but this version is still worth a sniff, My advice is to not go by first 10 mins , let her settle and mesh with skin. Once settled it becomes , fluffy and silky powdery , nods vintage a tiny bit but leaves lots if lovely powdery trails and i smell it wafting. this version is musky and floral richly powdery, it’s just got something about it I enjoy :) , I’m in love with original rive gauche but this is a huge like too, best in summer it booms.

Not a cliché citrus, easy going version of Rive Gauche as I was expecting (although that does sound pretty nice lol). This is actually from all the flankers I tried, the furthest away from the original, although it is still very much so related. Do not mistaken the "light" in the name for this being weak or something more akin to a traditional eau de cologne, this has some really great performance. A muskier version of Rive Gauche that gets its name from the lightness provided by the floral notes that are more modern and provide a fruity aspect to the fragrance that is very unique and honestly, unlike anything else I have tried. It removes almost completely the metallic, sharp, cold aspect of the original that causes a lot of division between the community so I think this one, although unique, will be a lot easier to digest versus the OG or the Intense. Suited for any season but I think this will shine on spring. I consider this one unisex, like all the Rive Gauches (the original being the most feminine leaning). Wonderful quality and blending as I have always experienced with Tom Ford era YSL.

clearly daniella roche andriers work, powdery musky and lots of freeshia, from this underated beauty you knew she would do exceptionaly well as a nose ! i enjoy her work.

This light form of Rive Gauche has the same powdery effect of the original, but with less aldehydes and interestingly less citrus notes. The original RG leaves a perfect citrus note on my skin after 2-3 hours when all those aldehyde and floral bomb fade away, but this version left a more musky and more powdery trail behind. RG Light is not a cliche of today's "add some citrus to the original and here you have etc etc. light" trend but still bland and fades away without a remarkable development. I still prefer regular RG which makes me surprised by taking a different form in every hour.

Where can I find this? The original RG was another 70's favorite of mine--if this is even close, I would love it!
