Wild Leather

For context I was hunting YSL private line stuff for some time, mainly the more popular ones like Tuxedo, Babycat and 6... but I found a tester bottle, 120ml in it, for a really great deal, the guy even counted in some unused bottles I had collecting dust. But I went into it completely blind, and I am not at all disappointed, I like leather, if done right. Like I hate Cuoium, but I love The Black Knight. Based on the reviews here I prepared myself for this to be not-so-wild, and truly it isn’t. But that’s not bad, I’d even say that it’s better, it’s sophisticated suede, vanilla and iris than some gut punching animal leather. But this is all my nose really gets from the scent, the licorice, saffron and woody notes are somewhat there but they kind of blend in. To me this is more of a mature scent, like a Rolls Royce owner style scent. Also like the smell of YSL leather products, handbags, coats, gloves and whatnot. I both can and cannot imagine wearing this without a leather long coat going on a fancy dinner date. I’m not even in my mid 20’s, I wear this for colder night outs, paired with not really fancy clothes, streetwear basically. But it still works? I get fairly many compliments with it, it’s sweet suede, a bit woody appeal works. Not blind buy safe at all, not even if you’re into leather/woody stuff, this will smell different. Lasts a loooong time too, and projects insanely well

To me, this fragrance is the brighter and less edgy younger brother of YSL's Cuir from their "Le Vestiaire des Parfums de Nuit" Collection. No rum or tobacco here, so perhaps the younger brother who's not old enough to drink or smoke. The slight animalic character of Cuir is done away with as well, and replaced with a very inviting vanilla, lavender, and suede combo. There are other notes which liven up this blend, but those are the stand outs to me (outside of the leather). It's becoming increasingly rare to find leather based fragrances that aren't "dark and broody" with booze and animalic qualities, so this is a nice surprise. I'd say it's best for fall and winter, but can easily be pulled off in the Spring time imho, especially in cooler Springs or in the night time. Many have compared this release to YSL Noble Leather, I've never gotten my nose on that one, so you'll have to take everyone's word for it, same as I've been doing. Solid release. No regrets from purchasing a full bottle, though it's easily rendered redundant depending on how many leather or suede fragrances you may already have.

Ysl wild leather kicks stuff like Tf ombre leather all over the floor. This stuff is strong longevity and projection is amazing. Yesterday i sprayed 5-6 times all over the shirt and someone said she got an amazing smell like 2-3 feet away. This thing is a compliment magnet. It’s a sleeping giant. I blind brought the 125ml bottle and could not be happier. Btw i first sprayed it around one two times a week but then decided to leave it in a cool dark closet for over 4 months which this perfume really started to shine. So if you feel like its not ok leave it to macerate.

If you love leather, this is an absolute must. It opens with the rich, unmistakable scent of genuine leather, like stepping into the interior of a brand-new car with leather seats. As it dries down, a smooth touch of vanilla emerges, adding warmth and a subtle sweetness while keeping the composition masculine and refined. The quality feels natural, never synthetic, and the balance between strength and elegance is spot-on. Easily my favorite leather fragrance in my collection, authentic, and effortlessly confident.

A nice, classy leather, smelling of old money's holiday on a ranch. Hence the dry herbs opening (thyme, geranium), which I very much enjoyed upon discovery. I can imagine Yves Saint Laurent himself would have worn it. It smells rich but it does not have the sillage I'd love, at least on my skin - I am going to let it macerate. I would not get tired to say that YSL perfumes are way more than Babycat, and Wild Leather bears no resemblance with that vanilla-doused-leather-purse.

This is soooo good. I haven’t tried noble leather. The only others I have are tuxedo & 6 place Saint sulpice. This reminds me of ombré leather but smoother, drier, fresher & woodier with no fruitiness. Starts off bright & fresh with the bergamot, licorice & leather, then smooths out to an herbal suede woody scent little sweetness from the vanilla. I hardly get any florals. Also reminds me of old school Donna Karan fuel & unleaded with lots of added leather.

Someone said below that it was a joke from YSL naming this as “wild” and I can agree with that but not in a bad way. It is not wild, but it is different. This is not a common leather fragrance. I’m currently in my 3rd Ombre Leather bottle and I love it, but this is different in every way. Wild Leather gets floral and the performance is great. Weird that this is not that famous like the other ones in this line.

Está tristemente descatalogado y su sucesor Cuir de YSL no tiene el toque aromatico, fresco especiado por que por si solo es demasiado empalagoso y amargo para mí, hay que mezclarlo con otra cosa. 10/10 Simplemente una obra de arte para mí. Muy jodido de encontrar aviso.

Wild leather is spicy woody leather gentleman scent. Complex mixture between spice, fresh spice, leather, vanilla and wood. The opening is nice, the middle part is a bit too sweet for my taste, but the the dry down is the best part. It is a male cousin of Babycat. Sillage and longivity is more than enough for most situation. Love it.❤️

What a treat , I am a sucker for a good leather frag . This one takes me on a classy leather centric journey , The high quality leather “off white /beige “!leather lining they used to line high end shoes and sandals with . It’s not your average leather scent . Glad I purchased the 75ml .

Very similar to the discontinued YSL Noble Leather but with less dried fruit note. Replaced by other sweet notes like vanilla and slight powdery notes. If you are a fan of and missed out on noble leather, you might want to give this a try. Very good

This is a leather scent done right, the highlight is leather, suede, woody and you can actually smell all the listed notes yet it's a smooth scent blended to perfection.

Omg i love it ! To my nose it's subjective this is the luxury version between Armani code and the discontinued Armani code ultimate with leather.

In simple words, this is how “real leather” smell should look like. Well done YSL 👍🏻👍🏻. I’m thinking about having 250 ML if it’s available.

masculine spicy animalic leather with vanilla combo. very unique as a designer brand

Wild Leather is a reasonably decent suede/leather scent, initially pleasant and with subtle points of interest, but is ultimately let down by its drydown phase in my opinion. WL is leathery from initial spray; smooth, refined and realistic. Creamy yet dry vanilla adds smooth sweetness, enhancing the texture beautifully. WL is underscored by soft spices, with sweet-spicy liquorice evident up top, an unusual choice of spice that melds well with the leather while adding interest. It becomes increasingly suede-like as it settles, still smooth but less polished and with more texture. The spice remains subtle, but becomes more peppery and less sweet. I get some geranium here; green, peppery and aromatic. WL becomes increasingly dry as it develops, with woody notes emerging. However, it runs out of steam as it dries down, with a harsh, metallic ambery note rearing its head as the suede accord wears thin. This molecule remains until final fade, unfortunately for me. Sillage is strong and longevity is long-lasting. It is a unisex autumn/winter scent. A scent of two halves, WL has a promising start but is let down by its second act. It is nothing groundbreaking either - there are plenty of good leather scents available without this harshness. Many will like this regardless, but such metallic modern amber-esque molecules don't work for me. However, objectively not bad overall. 3/5.

Opens up with faint florals, but despite the name, this is actually a rather tame suede (that I can finally notice, compared to other "suede" featured frags), but no leather--probably perceived that way due to the vanilla present alongside it. It's not a "in your face" suede like the one you find in Suede by Rook Perfumes, but it's an elegant one. Not really the biggest of fans of vanilla in frags, but you can make out the background spices that give it a little "oomf." It might be a clean, reserved suede I'd consider later, but not in a rush to buy a bottle.

Sweet woods balanced with a dry, tannery-like leather accord. Pleasant but not particularly compelling. I’ve smelled this type of fragrance many times before, most recently with Babycat from this range which has a very similar vibe

A crumpled and metallic leather and suede that reminded me of Ombre Leather 16 and Liberty by merchant of Venice. Strong doses of saffron, thyme. I also take bergamot and sweet guajac. In the long finish comes more patchouli, licorice and soft vanilla. Rather sweet, opulent, it plays in mid-high frequencies and more often than not high. Suitable for cold seasons. Unisex.

This scent is excessively overpowering. It starts with an intense blast which evokes walking into an Abercrombie and Fitch store in 2005. Then it mellows out with strong notes of leather but I find the powdery scent much too overpowering behind the leather. Eventually the leather fades and I’m again left with 2005 Abercrombie and Fitch. I recommend you save your money and take my story as a warning against blind buying a scent.

Wild Leather (Skin test) First impression - opening is stage of Matte Guaiacol with load of pine oil, instantly recall me of cleansing product, DETTOL. (It think this natural but.. it too tart and green) - leather accord build, (few mins after) and this is the leather I would call leather, rough - realistic - brown, wild & handsome. I like it. - Aromatic note builded up, dry herb basket. Dry thyme actually. Yeap - this use real thyme oil. - combination of original babycat combo (that saffarn, vanilla, superamber that have many rendition-of as Rosendo 5, Vanilla Blaraka), soft licorice build, and soft sweet tone. It kind kind of classic leather aromatic direction but twist with this new babycat amber accord This one is eventually stronger and balancing with leather, actual this is quite mortal. - I assume it will eventually, become more powdery and vanillic... ... - it is develop to more piney wood side of thing, unsweeten, dry. Aromatic and powdery little sweeten powdery vanilla ambient dance in the background, leathery powdery-suede concoction. - I would say this is fairy unbalanced blend as attemp to merge this accord with leather. - I still think “Babycat” even sweeter, more balance than this. These vanilla aroma chemical (at least on my skin) barely peak through the guaiacol & pine oil. Good for someone who wants twist on Babycat, more strong less sweet or strong woody. I personally think I don’t need one. 6/10

I have had to come back and re-review after my full sample is finished. I think this is the pinnacle leather/ suede scent that I have been searching for all this time. Its masculine leather intent and execution is crystal clear, yet there is such a subtle contrasting back bone of sweetness I think the two notes that I am picking up are the vanilla and saffron that make this powerful but elegant not cloying or aggressive. Perfectly masculine yet not overdone, I have found my favorite leather scent finally.

Herbal masculine leaning unisex leather fragrance. Black leather with a sheen (waxy texture) not a matte (powdery) leather. No resemblance to babycat: equally vanilla and incense with wood and leather nuances. Wild Leather is a leather fragrance with herbal nuances/wood nuances: no amber or sweetness (I was hoping licorice and vanilla would be more prominent) I’m going to give it a few more wears but I might declutter or swap for Magnificent Gold (I have a full 125ml bottle

I find whoever named this Wild leather has a great sense of humour this is by far the most gentle and easy to enjoy leather scent I have ever worn, vanilla/patchouli make it very soft and its a very smooth leather/ suede combo. Utterly elegant and crowd pleasing leather scent. Perfect for the fall or winter season.

Just came here to say this bears no resemblance to 6 place Saint Sulpice.

Best when layered with Babycat !! The combination is fab
