I honestly can’t believe I’m saying this after all the hype around this.... I just don’t understand what everyone is hyping. Smell is subjective and everyone knows that but I’m a freshie fragrance guy. Hands down. And this is touted as a clean and fresh smelling fragrance and how incredible it is. I don’t find it to be that at all. Unless I have one that’s been tampered with. Which I did think about. I’ve thought about going to the department store and having a test of one of the counter samples just to make sure. But I put 40-5@ Freshie fragrances BEFORE grabbing this one. Which honestly stinks because I was super late grabbing this one. I picked this up after my collection got to 160-ish. So I had so many others to compare it to. Maybe.... That’s what the hype is but I doubt it? That people who hype this are more likely to have 10 frags or less... but just in Fragrantica over 50k people report owning this so I’m sure it’s spaced out between average users, OG veterans, and collectors. I grabbed mine from Jomashop so I really do t think it was tampered with... I’ve never had a problem with them. Ever. I did a shave a problem with FragranceNet when they sent me a fake Acqua Di Gio that had absolutely had the juice removed and replaced with some horrible consistency of alcohol and lemon juice. Horrible. I never contacted them about it and just stopped using the as a supplier. If it could happen once it could happen again and that might be unfair to fragNet, it could have been someone in the long chain of production - before them. But either way I just wasn’t willing to spend thousands of dollars taking that chance. The verdict is still out with me and this frag. I just do not understand how this could be anyone’s idea of a top 20 fragrance.

The opening of YSL Y EDP is driven by a crisp, clean Apple supported by citrus brightness and a slight sparkling spice from Ginger. As the fragrance moves into the mid phase, the apple slowly transitions from a distinct fruit into a softer general sweetness. Aromatic notes provide a clean green backbone while the base materials begin to emerge. The scent gradually shifts toward a smooth amber-woody character built around Amberwood and Cedar, giving it a slightly sweet warmth while still maintaining a clean and balanced texture. The drydown settles into a softer version of that amber-woody structure with a light clean musk supporting it. The sweetness remains subtle and the aromatics linger faintly in the background, giving the scent a clean masculine finish rather than a heavy woody base. By hour sixish the fragrance becomes a faint amber-woody skin scent with traces of those clean aromatics still hanging on. Overall, a crowd pleaser with a lot to like. While a tad synthetic, the opening is addictive and sets up the rest of the wear which is definitely on the more generic side, but still enjoyable. YSL Y EDP smells nice and refined and is the definition of “dumb reach”. I like to wear it when I don’t want to be the center of attention and need something that is nice but won’t offend. A quality blue that you can’t go wrong with at anytime or anywhere. 8/10

Most people spray perfume based on their mood before going out. Myself included. Sometimes, we are undecided what to spray as we have too many bottles! I can confidently tell you all that YSL Y EDP is categorized as a NO BRAINER perfume! If you do not know which perfume to pick, Y EDP will always be your number one reserve squad if that makes sense to you. Whether you are happy, angry, sad, moody, feeling sexy or maybe even horny, just reach for this GEM and you are good to go. 100% guaranteed! Now coming to the scent and performance. Y EDP is really strong, projects well, last long, smells beautiful and super smooth. I personally feel this scent can easily fall into the niche fragrance category. If this scent is produced by any top notch niche fragrance company, I am sure there will be a cult following. I have tested Y EDP with Pegasus, Office For Men and Reflection For Man on my arms many times. Truthful words, Y EDP outlast them seriously. I really think Y EDP is a MUST HAVE in your collection simply because its a No Brainer perfume with niche quality and performance and still super mass appealing. Lastly, if you spray Y EDP and if anyone were to comment negatively on this perfume, please run away as far and fast as you could because that person is an alien!!! There is absolutely no chance for a human being to dislike this fragrance. Period.

It's a well rounded mix among the most compliment versatile fragrances from the last 5 years. Take some of the best aspects of Sauvage, Bleu, Invictus Aqua, Nautica Voyage and do a very polish and classy mix with really good performance and then you have Y EDP. YSL really hit a homerun with this one, it's versatilely, classy, women love it, the apple note is yummy, the sage note makes every other note feels more impactful and it projects and lasts a lot! About some low performance comments, this is the kind of fragrance that you can get nose blind very fast, specially to the top notes, so don't over spray it, it's actually very powerful and just two or three sprays will get you notice even 7-8 hours after. That being said, it's not very invasive and annoying to people around you, it actually smells very classy and sporty! In my opinion it's one of the best versatilely fragrances on the market, probably the best if you want to smell a little different than the other guys wearing Sauvage and Invictus, and probably number 1 best designer 'all purpose fragrance' of the last 2 years!

Let me start by saying, this scent blew my wife's mind! It's a burst of apple and fruity sweetness. Enough to make the room intolerable after just 2 SPRAYS! Hands down this is the BEST YSL fragrance I've ever bought. Projection is incredible. I've gone to a costco with this scent on and it turns heads! I know my review on this frag is hyped, but I'm just telling it like it is. YSL Y EDP is a beast when it comes to projection. The dry down is a sweet musky-ness, and it's very attractive. I had a few of my wifes girl AND guy friends ask me about this scent. Complimenting that it smelled delicious. If you're in the market, and you're an apple loving person, this scent is definitely for you. I'm just warning you though, don't over spray with this bottle. You will choke yourself out with 3 sprays! Stick to just 1 or 2. It'll be enough. Trust me, I tried. The smell: 10/10 Quality : 9/10 Price: 9/10 (With the longevity and projection this baby carries, I wouldn't rate the price any less! Worth every dime in my wallet!)

There is a reason that why this is my signature scent. It smells so good, easy to wear, easy to like and it can be used all year around if you know how much sprays you should use. For me, this is the king of blue scents, YSL improved Y Edt very good (I also do like the Edt alot). First spray, it is fresh and you do feel that green apple, ginger and bergamot will balance the sweetness of the green apple, giving you a fresh, shower gel type of scent. You can wear this to anywhere, going out, school, office, work, dates, special occasions, basically a very easy to wear daily scent that is sophisticated enough to wear it in special times but also very youthful enough to wear it in school and going out. You can easily use this as a gym scent. But be sure that this will be used quite alot, not like bleu de chanel or dior sauvage but still, so you won't be that unique, but don't worry, few people wear fragrance anyway. Solid 10/10 for me and if you are looking for a freshie, dumb reach, this will be a very nice option.

Look. I’ve known this one for a while. I only got it last week. It was a gift. I owned Fakhar black years ago and this scent profile never left my mind. The clone didn’t last. I never wanted to buy it due to the price. Owning it now I am very grateful and happy to have it in my collection. It’s a daily driver with a reputation that precedes it. Liked by everyone. Extremely easy to wear. Fresh aromatic and the apple in this is lovely. This fragrance really gave me the urge to declutter and give away some perfumes whilst reorganising the mess I have in my drawers. I’m leaning more and more towards simple and easy to wear daily fragrances the more I own and smell. I don’t know what this part of the fragrance journey is called but it’s quite soothing I’d say for a lack of better words.

As someone who owns and has owned a mix of Middle Eastern+Designer fragrances, this YSL Y EDP easily is the best performing designer fragrance I’ve ever owned. Typically, If we’re going the designer route, the smell will be great but the performance will be bad, and the vice versa applies for Middle Eastern fragrances. However, My Y EDP breaks those stereotypes. For reference, mine is an April 2025 batch bottle and the opening-middle notes are so good in projection that it fills a room, while still maintaining smoothness for 2-3 hours. Add to that, 8-12 hours of skin longevity and even 20-24 hours of trace longevity on skin. When I heard about the recent reformulation performance decrease rumors, I expected mediocre performance, but this blew my expectations.

god damn this is SO good. i love the apple shower gel smell so much. sadly it's so overpriced in my region so i was only able to try a decant. the only perfume ive tried that had someone smell me up close to ask what i was wearing, and this was like a few spritz from a sample bottle so it must have been really performing. imo the most blind-buy safe perfume for a dude ever, it smells like what you think a nice clean cologne would smell like but not in that "old-spice old man" sort of way but more of a very clean put together person. Don't expect anything crazy in terms of scent profile, it will smell very "blue and shower-gel-y" and that's it. lasts a whole day, projects very nicely. 9/10 -1 for being overpriced.

I have just started getting into the fragrance world, and this was a blind buy to me. I've got 3 fragrances, two of them being blind buy and one of them was also a gift which can be considered blind. This won't make anyone sad at all. Clean, fresh but spicy and woody at the end. Aromatic as well. It contains everything which makes it absolutely great. It won't smell special or characteristic but it makes it better because it also fits every situation because of that. And the smell might be considered simple yes, but it's actually so good. Versatile, useful and absolutely great. Anyone who is just getting into fragrance world can buy this safe pick. Trust me, this will make you so happy whenever you smell it.

I've been using this fragrance for like 2 weeks and i can already say that i love it.It's probably the best fresh fragrance i have ever used.The green apple note is truly fantastic and very addictive.And the projection is also really good on this fragrance.I got 6 hours on skin and 10-12 hours of longevitiy on clothes which is good for a fresh fragrance in my opinion.The only bad thing about it would be it's price.It's little more expensive than the other designer fragrances but it's definitely more unique than other fresh designers.It's definitely one of the best designer fragrances.And i think it's perfect for a blind buy but if you have a chance, try it on your skin first and than buy it.

The god of all blue shower gel fragrances. This thing is a performance beast. The best blind buy you could possibly make. Very fruity, musky, earthy and extremely versatile. If I had to get rid of all my fragrances and keep one then it would be this one. Can be worn to work, the club, dinner date, movies, a FUNERAL for fucks sake. The dead person will wake up and tell you how good you smell. Might be a fragrance everyone else has but that should just attest to how good this thing is. Did I also say it's a compliment getter? This fragrance fucks. If you're barely starting your collection, this needs to be the foundation for it. I am on my 4th bottle because I love it that much.

Very good fragrance. Versatile, dumb reach for every occasion. The opening is my favorite part. Its loud, aromatic and refreshing with a dominant smell of a juicy green apple. Unfortunately the green apple note dies out quickly and the smell becomes more generic and linear. It's still very good tho. Smells like a luxury shower gel. I also get a lot of herbal notes mixed with woody notes in the base. My friends love this fragrance. I get 6–8 hours of longevity on my skin. Good projection is also there for 3–4 hours. I go nose blind to it pretty fast so I don't really smell it on myself that much. Overall a solid 8.8/10 IMO.

at first its synthethic headache inducing after like 3min HOLY HEAVENS its a dark apply everyday fragrance with the masculine woods in the back 7 sprays of this and it will last you an entire day like i sprayed this at 8am and went to school got back at 3pm and then my father got back at 5pm and i live in an apartment and he said that the entire stairwell smells like my new fragrance so i would say 5 sprays is enough or else your gonna be that annoying guy who oversprays the living shit out of his fragrance sadly this is slowly becoming the new dior sauvage because of the popularity but still a banger 9,5/10

I really love this fragrance, is one of the best versatiles designer fragrances. Is so versatile it can work for every type of situation, work, school, everyday, i even have people telling me that is a fragrance they would use to go out and its quite understandable because despite being a fresh and clean scent the green apple note, the bergamot and the ginger gives a sweet, fruity, yet fresh signature that distinguishes it from more traditional, shower-gel-style blue fragrances. I really like the opening of this fragrance and i love the green apple note here. Its a scent that is so easy to like and wear

I got a sample, my brother loved it so I gave it to him. I bought Another one for myself, then bought another. I now own a full bottle. My go to and daily wear signature scent. I've never smelt another cologne that everytime It puts a smile on my face. Incredible smell truly. 150$ +tax cad for 60ml is a bit much but its worth it. So fresh of a scent and so welcoming. A scent everybody can love. Lasts so long I smell it on my jacket when i where it for days after the spray. Similar smell from first spray to dry down. Just gets better the longer is stays on. Amazing scent truly.

The best spring fragrance possible, but I could be worn in any season. It projects the best in spring and summer breeze. 8 hours longevity with strong projection for 3 hours. Super strong, so I’d recommend no more than 6 sprays but it honestly stings my skin on some areas. It does give me a headache in humid environments, especially if you apply it right before then. During the high heat summer, I’d wait until night to wear or in the morning when it cools down. It’s pretty unique but I’ve never met anyone who hated it so I’d consider it mass appealing.

Originally bought this as a dumb reach fragrance incase I ever didnt feel like wearing my other fragrances, I ended up wearing only this for two whole weeks. There is something addicting about this fragrance that has me smelling myself through the day which is another strong suit of this fragrance, this things lasts. The apple note does come off a bit synthetic to me but for some reason I dont mind it, it doesnt smell like anything else in my current collection. In my opinion, this is a safe blind buy and a must have, its popular for a reason.

I think that 97 people from 100 like perfume. But maybe from those 97 people just 30 enjoy and collect perfume. The other people who enjoy it will ask the connoisseur something like “I really like perfume and I want something for my everyday” and Y EDP or EDT could be your safe response every time. This could be boring as a niche lover as me, adding things like Sauvage, Dior Homme, any JPG, but at the end this exists for a reason. I love this and EDT

Ysl y edp smells really good very strong and attractive scent.this fragrance smells like a bit of ginger a lot of bergamot and also like a green apple.The dry down is really good it smells like sweet and musky scent at the same time.This fragrance is very attractive and it just makes me wanna keep smelling it.Its longevity is like 7+ hours and the sillage is really good.Gotten good compliments from this. Sillage:8.5/10 Longevity 7/10 Over all:9/10

This is a 10/10 for sure. I have been wearing mine for years now and it has become my signature scent. It is so professional and mass appealing, but it isn't basic like any given blue/freshie. The performance is average. It isn't going to be beast mode or super loud, but I don't think it should be anyways. Safe blind buy, good for an everyday grab. Only problem is the price, if you do intend on wearing it every day.

Sprayed it on my wrist and watch, the smell was gone from my wrist after a couple hours but the watch kept the fresh smell for several days which was so good I had to order it ASAP Been using it for months, great everyday fragrance The atomizer and the cap is pretty cheap quality imo. Maybe its just my bottle. Sprays bad but the scent is awesome. If you like freshy apple then definitely must have! :)

Blind buy safe blue fragrance with a bit more complexity than most other blues. I've been wearing as a daily driver for a month now and been very satisfied. The price is a bit steep but reasonable by fragrance standards. I go noseblind to it very easily, even when only spraying on shoulders or inside elbows, so I have had trouble measuring performance but it seems to last for a while (6 hours +).

it's solid and reliable. if you're really into fragrances, you might not understand the hype around this one, but the masses REALLY like this one. it's just a beautiful blend of apple and juniper berry. wear it if you just want to smell good and get compliments. projection is beyond beast mode, so be cautious on the sprays. 3-4 sprays maximum, anything more will absolutely fill the room

Fresh,clean,sharp and masculine. This fragrance smells like a 400$ shower gel. Apple,ginger a wonderful citrucy opening. Drys down to be fresh and sharp it just smells so good and versatile for all year round. Does not smell synthetic at all for me. 130$ is a great value i reccomend this fragrance For teenagers and men between 20-29 Overall rating 9.1/10 As a designer fragrance 9.6/10

9/10 I’ll be honest, I had heard a lot of things about this being a boring, basic fragrance. And while I see where those people are coming from, I think this is fantastic. Perfect use of apple and bergamot, literally the perfect everyday scent you could own. Initial scent amazing, and the drydown is just as good. I’d recommend this to everyone who enjoys fresh and apple.

I love this fragrance so much for reasons I can’t describe. It’s a spring and summer staple for me. The blend is insane, with the fruitiness being balanced out with the floral notes. I don’t really smell the woody notes, but that could just be me. Only problem is how overused and popular it is, preventing me from making it my true signature scent; otherwise it’s perfect.

Call it basic. Call it generic. This stuff smells beautiful. Such a fresh, clean smelling fragrance, as if you just stepped out of the shower. If all you want is to smell good, and you don't care about smelling 'generic', get this. If you want to stand out, this isn't perfect but out and about not a lot of guys wear fragrance anyways, so it can still work.

Best i will say again one of the best blue fragrances! If ur young buddy, want something clean, sweet, fresh, playful, with good projection and longevity for summer and spring just buy it, i can absolutely say that 90% u will not regret buying. Its very versatile, safe but not boring. Huzz in my uni love it, so GENERALLY: 10/10 for the price!

I just dont get when people say that everybody owns this fragrance, to popular bla bla No its not, i have been using YSL Y edp for past two years, 3rd bottle and tbh i have not smelled yet on nobody I live in Hamburg, Germany bthw This is a banger, and also its not for school or for boys under 25 . Maybe college but definitely not school .

Nothing I can say that hasn't been said. It performs well and smells GREAT. Very strong opening, perhaps too much for a small office, so sometimes you have to plan accordingly. I love it on my skin and clothes from start to finish. Not a budget fragrance.. but honestly I can happily purchase 5oz at a time!

My first ever designer fragrance that i bought with my own money. It screams perfection, as i knew many people said it's kinda boring fragrance but hey, it's a dumb reach fragrance. Apple, Shower gel vibes especially in a hot weather like Indonesia, it suited to be worn through out the day. 10/10 for me

Another great fresh out of the shower clean blue scent. IMO this and the new light blue are similar but light blue is somehow both sweeter and saltier while this has superior performance. Too expensive at full retail. Not bad value at discount. Very redundant if you have anything else in the Y lineup.

safe blue fragrance that everyone likes, it can come off a little synthetic tho but overall a great fragrance, has decent sillage so 6 sprays is good enough to be smelled by others if its too expensive just go for a dupe instead it will smell almost identical and could even have better performance

Gave this one a chance since I got it as a steal from a coworker lol. I love this scent and probably the one with the biggest dent on my collection, smells fresh and clean AF. The apple note is soo good, and perfomance is off the charts, multiple compliments a day whenever I reach for it.

Great fresh, green apple & bergamot fragrance. Got the original Y first, didn't really like it so gave it away, but the EDP really fixed it for me. Weirdly enough, I would say this would be the 'LV Imagination' in the YSL fragrances. Simple, clean, perfect daily scent or signature scent.

One of the absolute best parfumes out there and this is my Signature scent...love it so much...i will say it is one of the big boys in fresh fragences i mean blue fragences...this and Dior sauvage edp and bleu de channel that i not yet had testet but hear it from everyone it perfect 🙂

Way too sweet and cloying. Very synthetic. Gives me a huge headache. Doesnt smell masculine at all IMO. Good for broccoli heads. Easily one of my regret buys for sure. Just doesn’t smell mature enough for me I guess. Ymmv of course. Definite thumbs down. Too much hype on this.

I got it for chrismas. On A tester strip is it too strong but on my skin is it strong but not that strong «perfekt» in my opinion its A summer colone. I have got soo many compliments in one day. People say every person youses it but ive just smelled it just one time in europe

Smells like a men's blue shower gel, but in a good way, little sweet but still a really good freshie everyday scent for a young man. 8.5/10 would prefer if it didn't have the sweetness to it but still a really good quick throw on scent and sure to get a compliment from.

Fruity, sweet but not sickingly. Even with more sprays, you'll smell like you freshly showered more than you just doused yourself with cologne. It is light, it compliments daily use and special ocassions. Versatile, inoffensive yet unique enough where it will stand out.

Greatest scent of all time (in my opinion). Mass appealing because i have gotten so many compliments from it and i love the apple and sage opening when it slightly dries down. One of the best clean, masculine, mature, and blue shower gel type fragrance of all time.

I finally get the hype. Trying this on paper at a store doesn’t do it justice. The reason this is one of the best selling blues is because it smells very natural, there is no synthetic harsh notes like there are in many clone or cheap designer scents.

Beautiful fragrance and mass appealing. It smells like a wet fresh apple and at no point is it sharp. It is elegant sweet without causing a toothache. You can't go wrong with this if you wanna smell fresh and clean. May be a bit boring but not bad.

Bought this one back in 2022 just before the hype and yes it’s still worth it, just the perfect blue, clean fragrance that’s super versatile and performs nicely. My bottle is almost empty and I’ll surely get a new one as I can’t not have a bottle

If confidence came in a bottle, it’d smell like this. One spray and you’re suddenly interviewing for a role in The Wolf of Wall Street. Ridiculously versatile, impossible to wear at the wrong time, and almost guaranteed to get compliments.

I think it is a pretty good scent but that's just my opinion most people say its something like a 9/10, I'd say 8/10 its really really good, it also almost has a creamy or vanilla note somewhere, even though its not there.

So fresh and so clean, clean. Perfect versatile everyday men's scent with excellent longevity. Nothing about it's profile is incredible but that's what makes it so great. It is the epitome of the modern blue.
