Y Eau de Toilette

It took a little while but I warmed up to Y EDP and started loving the DNA so I bought a big 200ml for the gym, work, and everyday use. As I wore the EDP, it became apparent that the volume is always on ten and there is no brake pedal. I noticed people staring at me at the gym and when I was out and about. I decided to try the new 2022 version of the EDT since EDP was becoming too much. First wear to work I got a compliment. It also passed the wife test. She walked by and didn't say "that's too much" as she did with the EDP. It isn't the end all be all but its sweet (not cloyingly sweet), clean and fresh, and will last an entire workday. At this point that's all Im looking for in an everyday work, gym, running errands fragrance. I will most likely sell the 180ml left of my EDP. It's funny how people say the EDP doesn't perform, my bottle isn't that old and it's so strong it will knock your nose out in a few hours. The 2022 edt on the other hand lasts 8-10hrs with a moderate sillage/projection and is never too much. When I first started my fragrance collection I wanted all beast mode fragrances. Now Im trying to get rid of some of those scents and replace with scents that can be worn without giving people within 10ft radius a bronchospasm.

I'm one of the ones who loved the original edt and still do, and always will. I just received my bottle today of the 2022 version and I mean...its different but not really, if that makes sense. It's the original DNA but maybe a little more citrus, a little more rounded off and smooth I'd say... But I like it! However I won't be tossing my old edt any time soon. That original edt was great and one of the fragrances that received the most unwarranted dislike ever. It was also pretty nuclear, despite its reputation which made no sense to me. I could put the edt on and it would last until the next day. Bottom line is I'm glad we have this as it's the same but different, which means it won't he hard to find even tho I own plenty of the original edt but I was expecting a massive difference and this isn't a departure for the edt original, just maybe more citrusy, smooth, etc it holds the same scent profile so I just don't forsee someone who disliked the original saying they like this. I pick up a little Eau fraiche in this as well ever so slightly. Overall, I love it and ysl fragrances are some of the absolute best out there and the hate for the edt whether the original or this is totally unjustified, it's a great scent through and through.

I am jealous and nostalgic at the same time when smell this fragrance. So youthful, I can see the time, where Y edt would fit my lifestyle, but not anymore. On 32 now, I don’t wear lots of juvenile fragrances as I must show more of my mature side, than that young part of me which probably will never die. Sometimes I open the bottle, close my eyes, and smell the sprayer and the cap together so I can get more of the smell. I am going back in the days, the careless days, where I was that bubbly, open, happy, little bit crazy and very active young man with sporty athletic body (still kept the body though) and walking around the neighbourhood with my sexy white t shirt and grey jeans. Everyone is saying hi to me, because I was so popular. Had a gorgeous girlfriend, but the most beautiful girls from the neighbourhood wanted me and were flirting with me... Yeah... This fragrance brings me right back there. I know these times will never come back, but also know that I was there, I experienced it. And no one can take these memories from me!

YSL Y EDT is surprisingly great; the EDP gets the majority of the love but I prefer the EDT. It vaguely reminds me of my favorite discontinued scent - YSL Y Eau Fraiche (but only slightly, in its tart freshness & ginger). This one's more aromatic, soapy & hints of vanilla. Its spiced but still light. Its a great summer or spring scent. It could be used year round if needed. It has a gentle woody base with a smidgen of smoky incense. Its slightly sweet & not overly so; which seems to be a trend in modern mens perfumery - relying on too much sweetness. Its truly the everyman fragrance that honestly has a bit of everything but in equal amounts; while not the most unique DNA its still very pleasant & decent longevity for an EDT. Id argue its one of the best mainstream designer scents on the market. Its also one of my best performing EDT's I own. Overall I adore it! Its also versatile enough I could see men of all ages wearing it, to gym, work or special occasions.

This one is so difficult... On the one hand, yes, it is horribly synthetic and rather generic with its "fresh out of the shower" approach. In this regard, it is definitely too expensive. On the other hand, it is so nicely balanced, uplifting and fresh. It also has an amazing warm touch to it that appears after a while and that keeps drawing me back to it. I feel like a teenage girl in love with a bad boy. I know I shouldn't, but I can't help myself. Apart from the fact that this is not a bad boy scent at all. It is super clean and fresh. This scent could be absolutely amazing if: A) it had a bit more of that "special something" to it. E.g. a touch of spiciness or a bit more of that mossy/herbal warmth in the middle. B) it performed a bit stronger. c) its top notes were not so synthetic. Also, I just want to put it out there that there are too many scents under the "Y" label, it is very confusing. There are lots of other letters in the alphabet!

I bought this because the EDP is a bit too much for summer heat where I live. Completely blew me away how fresh, light, airy, and floral this is. Definitely has the DNA of Y EDP but without the screaming candy apple and syrupy sweet juniper berries. When I spray this on the aldehydes really give this character and work so well with the bergamot. Into the mid it transforms into a floral fresh comparable to MYSLF. Like it smells photorealistic to a flower shop, and in a masculine way like it’s not feminine. After a while the floral notes tone down, and it becomes a cedar vanilla scent which is just wonderful. Projection and longevity is good. It projects about 1-2ft for 3-4 hours, and lasts around 6-8 hours. Overall, this is an excellent fragrance. Amazing reach for daytime casual spring-fall. It really just uplifts your mood and makes you feel excellent about yourself. I love YSL, and this fragrance is a 10/10 for me.

I do get so many compliments on the reformulated 2022 version which is a much better improvement (though, wear what you like for you)! I spray 8 sprays on my skin, hair (lasts longer in hair) and clothes and it does last at least 6 hours on me with a beautiful dry down that still catches whiffs in the air. I know this because I get olfactory fatigue, but get a sudden surprise of smelling this all of a sudden after a long day of errands. People compliment it on me all day and it’s not offensive. It’s very pleasant and makes one feel well put together. Worth having this bottle as a dumb reach. Just may not work when it’s snowing cold, but other then that, it’s year surely around worthy. P.S. Even though this is marketed towards men, this is a gender bender because women use this fragrance on themselves, too, which is awesome! Fragrances are subjective and really unisex. Wear it and rock it no matter how you identify.

I came to the same consensus as others here - the EDT is better than the EDP. Something about the other Y's like the EDP go too far into the pointy, green, or 'turpenous' direction, it comes off more synthetic and forward in a way I dislike. This EDT however is much more rounded and classically blended, I'm surprised this one isn't as popular. Additionally, it’s more traditionally masculine smelling, with melon (calone) in the center for an aquatic, blue, manly feel. More so than the EDP and Parfum. It doesn't sacrifice performance either, still radiates for hours off skin and lingers for days on clothes. The twinkly, crisp opening is very appreciated. Versatile and easy to wear, very likeable. Work safe too. If you dislike blue calone-y men’s fragrances then this is absolutely not for you. Try the old Parfum or l’elixir instead. 9/10

EDT is by far the best of the Y's. One of the best summer fragrances period. Though you could catch me wearing this on a sunny fall day as well. I think it works well on a summer night tool despite what some might think. I picture wearing this to an outdoor dining space with music. There's a nice summer evening breeze giving neighbors the occasional whiff making them desperate to know where it's coming from. I don't think of vanilla when i think of summer fragrances but there is just the right balance with the florals and other base notes to give it a yummy, feel good, comforting familiarity. It is well rounded and inspiring. I want to cuddle up to this fragrance but like I said, great for the outdoors day or night. It's also a perfect gym fragrance. Your gym bro's will quietly love it to themselves. =)

At first I thought "eh it's alright but I don't think I'd want to buy it". Then as I gave more tests It just got better and better. It's now my spring-summer signature. The opening is crisp, fresh and gives an ice cold watermelon-esque feeling. The musks in this fragrance are in very high amounts and that may be why I like it so much. The bonus of musk heavy frags is that they last long. Performance is about 7hrs give or take and for the first 1,5 hours this thing is radiating off my skin beautifully. Perfect for office or school but can absolutely be worn anywhere anytime and even dressed up. Fits all guys maybe under 35. Spray this like you would spray any other Y frag, its pretty strong especially for an EDT. For me 2-4 sprays is all I need.

I've tried YSL Y EDT, EDP, and Le Parfum; of all three, EDT is the only one I like and find wearable. Le Parfum is too screechy and EDP is a bit too strong for me. EDT has a great, fresh scent that I can wear all year. It doesn't last as long as the other two, but I prefer it that way because it's inoffensive. Although apple isn't part of the scent profile, the Y DNA does have a pronounced green apple smell. I get spicy, citrusy, and woody notes — and it's fairly linear (the opening and drydown stay the same). Also, EDP lacks the synthetic note I get with EDP and Le Parfum. This is a great choice for a daily scent as well, but I try not to use it too often because I tend to become noseblind to fragrances if I wear them frequently.

I think this is a huge improvement, and the first YSL Y I actually like! The original EDT felt like a blurry hodge-podge of "cologne" themes without a clear theme. The EDP is built much better, but it has a stingingly intense annoying dry-cedar base. The dry-down becomes overwhelming, like something's trying to drill a hole through the top of my nose cavity. This version fixes everything that's wrong with the EDP to me. That signature aromatic cedar thing is still there, but it's been sweetened and smoothed out with fruity faucets just enough. The final effect is not fruity, it's just less harsh and aggressively stingy. Perfect middle ground. Just the right amount of everything to make a balanced and harmonious end product.

I have been wearing this fragrance for about 3 years now. I recently tried branching out to the EDP, and the EDP intensity, I wasn't a fan of either. There is something so sexy, and lusting about this cologne. This cologne by far receives the most compliments. Everyone loves it. It's so fresh and clean and bright. It's light but grabs your attention the second you get a whiff. I love smelling it on other people when they walk by. Such a beautiful fragrance. It's such a shame seeing how many people don't like this scent. The projection and longevity is 10x better than the EDP AND EDP Intensity. The dry down is so sweet and subtle . Yet somehow demands your attention. This is definitely my signature scent

Got this on a holiday sale at Ulta, 2 oz. For $63 I believe. This has always been my favorite out of the Y line I have smelled. I had some ulta bucks and walked out with it for about $50 and I am more than happy at that price. It's airy, clean and crisp. An effervescent approach to the DNA of YSL Y profile. It is good for several hours and projects great during the first couple. In warmer Temps with cleaned, hydrated skin this stuff will last for most of your daytime hours even with sweating. I will say for those looking for similar on a budget, CK Eternity Cologne from 2020? Is a good $25 alternative. Smell is close but the performance is no where near YSL. Great stuff!

bought this at the swapmeet it was 80 percent full 2 oz bottle , 2024 batch code, I smelled it and fell in love, this smells so bright fresh , clean with a nice sweetness , theres a ginger scent that grounds it a little bit, I have the edp, and this smells better to me , the edp has a strong apple scent , Its strong for a EDT , it fits the kind of scents that I enjoy wearing, Born in Roma EDT and Invictus Platinum EDP , this fits right in the mix, they all have this energy, this one has more power , It smells alot like the new Myself line, this is a very safe blind buy, you and folks around you will enjoy this .

Alright. So, upon initial spray, it's sweet, gummy bear sweet. What follows is the geranium and lavender with maybe a hint of ginger. I get a very effervescent type of scent note to this that complements this fragrance in a way that makes it office safe, just don't overdo it. Definitely long lasting and if over sprayed, definitely bombastic. But two sprays is more than enough for a nice, enjoyable fragrance. This is nice. I like it. It's not a love for me, but it's definitely worth the $50 I paid for it for a 2oz bottle. Because it's so powerful, this bottle is more than enough for my rotation.

So much better than the edp. Y EDP was the first YSL I ever smelled and I thought I hated YSL. No, I hate y EDP. Every other YSL I've smelled, I love and I love Y EDT. It's very clean and watery fresh out of the shower feel. The projection and sillage is very big and strong for an EDT, sillage is actually huge. Projection is loud if over sprayed for at least an hour easy. It does have a generic smell to it but you can tell it's much higher quality and smoother than just any fresh scent. Definitely has better performance than L'HOMME.

Gentlemen - this IS a great scent! Ladies or Gents - a possible purchase for your man! Dominique Ropion is soooo good at blending a kick ass fragrance. Opens with a pop of fruit smelled like a biting into a freshly cut watermelon slice then quickly moved to a solid woody amber which lasts for hours. Then moves to a fresh, clean, blue/green scent with strands of bergamot and lavender - very very much a summer warm night seductive vibe. I know it's for men but not ashamed to spray this on - it makes me feel summer sexy.

I liked the original 2017. But I actually LOVE this 2022 formulation. Its better in every way. It is all of the following: 1. Longer lasting ( I get 10 hours) 2. Less synthetic 3. More elegant 4. better with sillage, in both smell and performance 5. Unique in its own category, 6. Fresh, fruity, and sweet 7. Less cloying/headache inducing than the EDP 8. Safe for any occasion (I PERSONALLLY would not dress it up, but the limitation ends there for me.) 9. Worth the price at discounters 10. A quality scent

I love it. It's like Y EDP but lesser sweetness and add soapy / aldehyde on it. It's more wearable for hot weather. Performance and projection are good. Scent: 10/10 I like it more than EDP. Really great!! Performance: 9/10 It' great for eau de toilette standard. It lasts on my skin around 9 hours, but I cannot give 10/10. Projection 8/10 It projects well for first 2-3 hours then it'll project lesser. After 7 hours, it becomes skin scent but still project lightly. Overall 9.5/10
