Y Iced Cologne

Y Iced Cologne opens with an herbal, icy mint that immediately distinguishes it from Y EDP. The mint provides a cooling sensation without smelling toothpaste-like and sits over the familiar Y DNA, muting the usual juicy apple and making the fragrance feel fresher and better suited to hot weather. While the apple is still present, it plays a supporting role to the mint during the opening, resulting in a cooler and slightly less sweet first impression. After the opening, the fragrance quickly settles into the signature Y profile. The mint recedes into the background, leaving behind the familiar blend of sweet apple, aromatics, and woody freshness. Any remaining cooling effect is subtle enough that I found myself actively searching for it rather than naturally noticing it. From there, the fragrance continues to wear almost identically to Y EDP. The structure, texture, and overall character remain remarkably similar, with no meaningful changes beyond the initial minty introduction. If worn blind after the first hour, I would have struggled to distinguish it from the original. Overall, I found this to be a successful but conservative flanker. The icy mint opening is enjoyable and does make the fragrance feel more refreshing in warm weather, but the distinction is short-lived. Once that fades, it essentially becomes Y EDP for the remainder of the wear. Because of that, my impressions of the original largely carry over here, with the added benefit of a cooler and slightly less cloying opening. Score: 8.0/10

Screw it. I'm buying a bottle. Ulta has a 15% right now. I don't own any of the Y line so the redundancy doesn't apply to me. I've tried it three times now and it has grown on me. I can appreciate it and the Y dna. I think at first I was looking for a blast of mint which I could not detect. Now I can see it. It's funny, on paper, the mint is intense and overwhelming compared to when on skin. To my nose, it is a geranium note that gives it that green vibe. It seems very well blended like the rest of the Y line. It is difficult to pick apart the notes. The floral aspect, slightly reminds me of Prada's Paradigme. Not at all similar scent profiles though. Y Iced is nice because it can be worn in the summer. While I like Paradigme for its geranium notes, it is way too heavy for any seasons other than winter or fall with its base notes. It does last forever. I sprayed two small sprays on the back of my hand. Even with washing my hands a few times throughout the day, I can still easily detect some sillage. :: Ended up getting my bottle already in store. I don't know why, but my retail bottle smells way better than all the testers that I have tried. The atomizer is awesome too.

YSL Y Iced is honestly what I wanted the EDT to be in the first place. Fresh, clean, minty and genuinely refreshing without smelling like somebody emptied a sports shower gel over your head. The mint in the opening is really nice too, crisp and cooling, though sadly it does not seem to stick around super long. That might just be my nose going blind to it though, because the fragrance itself lasts decently well overall. Once it dries down it becomes super smooth and wearable, still fresh but cleaner and more refined than the regular EDT. If I had to pick between the two, I would take this every single time. It just feels more polished and less shouty. As a side note, this smells very similar to Riiffs Freeze, except YSL managed to make it actually smell good. Freeze smells like somebody mixed lemon cleaning spray with mint chewing gum and called it a fragrance. This does not. Before anyone starts crying “brand snob”, I happily wear Asad and Vulcan Feu and think they are brilliant. Riiffs Freeze is just bad 😂🤷🏼

Smells really great. I cant say it smells like "ice" per se, but it does give me an invigorating/fresh feel, and it does smell really good and "cool". Longevity isn't bad, but its less than EDT, EDP, and Le parfum. That is quite alright though because it still lasts most of the work-day for me. I can see this being pretty versatile and good all year, but shining more in warmer weather. Its not as sweet as any of its predecessors and is truly a fresher version. I do believe it is less fresh than Y Eau Fraiche, but its still good and fresher than all the others. Is it redundant? Maybe so. Its not something I can really decide for you, or say objectively. I will say that I like wearing it more than the EDP because the EDP was cloying to me, overbearing, and just too strong, it gave me a headache personally. I think if you have that experience, this is a great alternative, but other than that... it certainly is worth wearing on skin and ascertaining for yourself. Please do give this a try. Its worth it.

8/10 This smells so good and the longevity is surprisingly very good, It smells like acqua di gio EDP but with a really nice strong minty scent, it smells like a ice cold mojito with a touch of sweetness. I get easily 5+ hours of performance on this before it becomes a skin scent, the silliage is also very good for the first hour. I've seen a lot of people say the scent changes alot, or the mint going away after 10 mins things like that, but only thing I've noticed is the Tea note disappearing after an hour. Price is horrible tho, I don't know if YSL thinks their a niche brand now because charging a 100$ for a 60ml bottle is absurd, and their second latest release Myslf L-absolute is even worse 220$ for a 100ml bottle, I love YSL but I could buy a Xerjoff for that price, the prices are getting closer to their private line prices.

My favourite freshie atm. I cant get enough of it. It is not mentioned in the notes but I’m getting sour fruit notes like grapefruit. Mint is not dominant and smells nothing like toothpaste. Smell is energizing and uplifting. Of course it has the DNA Y EDP but I prefer this over Y EDP. I dont like the sweetness of EDP. You can pretty much wear this anytime but summer daytime where it shines. Longevity is not bad for a summer freshie. Im getting about 6 hours. Projection max. 2 hours. 3 sprays to the neck, 1 to each arm and 2 sprays on clothing. Considering the current state of designer fragrance pricing, this one is ok. But I thing designers are way too expensive nowadays. You can add couple of bucks and go for affordable niche like Mancera. Smell: 10/10 Longevity: 7/10 Projection: 8/10 Price value: 7/10 Overall: 8/10

After a couple months of owning it testing it out and letting it age, the scent has become better The mint lasts longer which I've seen alot of people complain about, the tea note is more brighter and has a stronger smell, and it has turned into a slightly sweeter fragrance, the sweetness smells like it's from a peach, or Sri Lanka mango. Performance is the same it lasts really long for a summer fragrance with "ice notes", projection is absolutely amazing, i only need 4-6 sprays of this for the day and lasts me almost the whole day, and everyone around me notices the scent. This is also a good gym fragrance but only spray it once. It is nothing special it smells like most designers but the performancea/silliage is so good I think it makes it slightly better than 95% of summer designers on the market

I bought this fragrance today since I wanted to have a summer perfume in my collection and I love it so so much. Was kinda shocked to see the negative comments about it here. I really love the sweet, green, spearminty mint vibe. Does not have a cheap toothpaste smell at all. After some time it dries down into a mint tea smell + the Y DNA. I understand some of the criticism about sharing a similar Y DNA but personally I find this perfume original enough because the mint smell lasts long and does not disappear immediately. It just tones down and blends really well with the ambery sweet patchouli base. Longevity is quite good, but don't expect this fragrance to fill the room you walk into. You cannot go wrong with it on summer days as it is very fresh and cool! 9/10.

Having owned both Y EDP and Y Le Parfum (2021 bottle), this might be my fav Y out of all the ones I own. Great for spring and summer, maybe even early autumn before the cold weather starts to come through (UK climate) due to the Patchouli and Ambroxan base. Not as sweet and syrupy as Y EDP due to the mint and ice notes, which are definitely prominent in the opening and until about 2 hours in but is quite similar to EDP in the drydown so this is perfect for me. It is not a toothpastey mint in the opening, more just fresh and clean mint like the actual plant, which is good. Longevity is decent, about 8 hours overall before I can’t really detect it on my skin. Can’t wait to wear it when the weather warms up in late spring.

What is so nice about YSL Iced is it just does feel lighter yet somehow more invigorating than the original YSL Y. I love that mint is the main note in this fragrance because it really does make for a nice slightly spicy mint bomb. I pick up slight tea note but overall this is just a fantastic summer scent. I feel like it will perform exceptionally well in the summer and warmer days. I find myself grabbing it more and more in the last few weeks. I am a big fan of YSL perfumes and this is no exception to their great line up they have. If you like YSL then you really cannot go wrong with this flanker. It is unique and fresh and youll find yourself smelling your hand quite often.

Y Iced smells like Old Spice Sport deodorant—clean, fresh, and like you just stepped out of the shower after your skin has dried down, not like soapy body wash but more that “I’m not dirty, I’m cooled off and refreshed” kind of vibe; you can clearly pick up the mint, sage, and patchouli, but they’re blended so nothing is too sharp or overpowering, giving a smooth, chilled aromatic effect, and the whole “ice” idea feels more like fresh, minty cold water than an actual smell of ice—almost like a toned‐down Ice Breakers mint, so it doesn’t feel gimmicky to me, just a wearable take on an “ice” concept.

While this isn't a wildly interesting scent, for me it still has a captivating quality. It's smooth, cool, and minty. While fresh it has a nice sweet balance; well rounded to keep me going in for sniff after sniff. Versatile stuff but certainly more daytime appropriate, and Autumn being the only season where I doubt I'd wear it. P.S. This is NOT Hawas Ice which is sweeter, less minty, more musky, more dry, and more diffusive. Side by side they are easily distinguishable. What they share is something of a common vibe but each certainly goes off in its own direction.

Beautiful fresh summer scent. Has a lot of similarities from Y edp and keeps the ysl Y dna. Opens up citrusy and green, and goes into a more floral and aromatic smell. Has the iconic sharp, fresh, metallic smell that the other Y fragrances have. Lasts around 4-5 hours on my skin, projection is barely ok. It's a great versatile scent for summer. Imo smells about 85% similar to Lattafa fakhar black, if you want something very similar for way cheaper get that instead. The only downside is that it's a bit boring and smells 90% similar to the other ysl fragrances.

Y Iced cologne is much better for me than Y EDT and EDP. Probably the best in line for me, and I didn't have any of Y. Menthol notes, sweetness, and a bit of classic Y scent. I like that blend. Mint here is well blended and not playing main role at all, nothing like in Torino 21, for example. Scent is much fresher and more wearable to me. Normal EDT and EDP are not fully suitable to my taste and I would rate them as 3/5. Good scents but difficult to wear. Iced cologne is very easy to wear. Got a bottle instantly.

This is the summer and spring version on the Y Elixir just not as dense, they are different enough to have both. I don’t get the ice but this has a slight cooling effect but I can’t determine if this is from the mint or ice. This does keep the Y DNA with a sage and ambroxon being the most dominant note. This isn’t a room filler although I haven’t tested this in the heat, but it has staying power making it worth the price. I give this an 8/10.

Straight up love this. I don’t own any other ysl at the moment this is my first one. I love how refreshing and “cool” this is. It’s fresh and minty not like toothpaste but the actual plant. I grow a ton of this in my backyard and it nails it. It really smells like mint tea as it dries down too. Overall slightly sweet but really a great spring / summer flavor. Really good for gym/ post gym. Excited to have this in my rotation of fresh bois.

I agree that the “iced” is not the protagonist here. Even when it’s clearly named like that. But, at the end it shows correctly. For me this is beyond Y EDP, I wore this to a concert with lots and lots of sweat in my skin and this kept being the same scent. It smell gorgeous and doesnt get me headache like the EDP or Parfum version. I would recommend this as first Y of the line But I always keep recommending the GOAT, the EDT.

Great fragrance. Owning both this and Y EDP is somewhat redundant, though. I planned to repurchase Y EDP after finishing my current bottle, but the reviews convinced me to blind buy this instead, and I’m glad I did. It lasts a bit longer on my skin and comes across as more masculine. If the mint note is stopping you from buying it, don’t overthink the listed notes. The mint is barely noticeable, at least to my nose.

This is very very good huge fan mainly due to the fact it’s extremely similar to the ysl Y edp from 2023, I feel after that they reformulated it I swear and this is just like it but with a splash of mint very tasty, though my mom told me it’s like toothpaste with y edp lol, but in all seriousness I highly recommend if you’re a big fan of the ysl y dna and or you don’t have one great job

Amazing fragrance, really masculine, very mass appealing, fresh, clean, modern. Perfect for the gym or hot summer days, or even during springtime. For school, for the office, anything. It is extremely versatile. It gives off a cooling sensation like a masculine mint bodywash. Highly recommend giving it a try. By being a designer the price is not the best but i think it is worth it.
