Y Le Parfum

I'm writing this review after trying the EDT, EDP, live and le parfum and I'll try my best to compare them as objectively as I can. I own the EDT and EDP, and the le parfum and live I have tried multiple times from a sample. All of the fragrances of this series are some of my favorites. Even though these fragrances are from the same series, it would be a mistake to assume they're the same. Overall, their openings are similar, going for a fresh, natural and aromatic smell and all of them are great actually. They also have the same vibe, going for a natural walk in the forest idea. However they present you with a bit of a problem that if you would only try them for a short while it would be hard to notice any differences. The differences start when you get to the drydown. Each one has a different note in the drydown that has the major role. The drydowns also have a very different level of warmth to it which makes them suitable for different occasions or climates. Openings: If I had to choose, I would say the the le parfum has the best opening. It's deeper than the others and very intense. The EDP probably has the least stunning opening because there are no aldehydes in this one. The opening is still good however. The EDT has a more fresh opening but it lacks the intensity of the way the notes envelop you at the start like the le parfum does. The live version has an opening that is a bit unique compared to the others as it contains some added sweetness. Besides this, the store I bought this from has different info on the notes, those being: Top: Bergamot, lemon, ginger. Middle: Orange Blossom, geranium, sage. Base: Cacao, tonka bean, juniper. I think fragrantica is wrong on this one because there is definitely tonka bean in this one. Drydowns: Here the EDP is in my opinion the best. It really encapsulates the walking in a spring forest vibe extremely well with the natural and woody scents. Especially the amberwood in the drydown is just too good. The only bad thing that I have to say is that if you compare the EDP to the le parfum that the EDP is a lot less noticeable, which is weird because by itself it is my favorite. I would argue this is because the drydown of the le parfum has stronger smells. The drydown of the le parfum is the most warm scent of the series. The other ones go more for a fresh drydown but the le parfum does no such thing. It's more of a wood and mild spicy kind of smell, resulting from the ceder and tonka bean notes. I say mild spice because they have a certain softness to it. In this sense it's also pretty different compared to the other ones. The le parfum is clearly the most long lived as well. My only issue with the le parfum is that the woody-spicy-tonka bean smell is kind of predictable but that doesn't mean it's bad. The EDT is the more fresh. It is also the one I would prefer wearing in very warm weather. The musk note is very noticeable in the drydown and a nice addition. The musk is also not too dominating (which often happens) and well balanced with the other ingredients. The projection and longevity of this drydown is a bit weaker compared to the other ones. There is nothing wrong with the quality itself, it's more that your nose gets used to certain smells so if you own multiple of this series you might want to consider spraying some extra to make sure you get this one. The live version has a drydown that trades the slight woody smell from EDP for some added sweetness and freshness. After about an hour to 2 hours the smell can be very dense if you smell it up close so maybe don't spray too much, or take that as an indication that you have good projection, you choose. The EDT is also fresh but I would say this one more so and I actually like that a lot. The added sweetness however is another story, I would argue that it limits it's potential because it makes this one a lot less classy than the other fragrances in the Y line. It's a more straightforward smell and it doesn't have the depth the other ones do but it does smell amazing. Overall (for me personally): 1. EDP 2. le parfum 3. Live 4. EDT The EDP is my favorite, it gives you the vibe that this scent was made for perfectly. That being said, the other ones are good too and they can be more suitable depending on the occasion or weather. The le parfum I would highly recommend as well. The warmness of the smell really takes it into a different direction than the other ones. I'm definitely picking this one up if I can get a good price on it, if that means anything to you readers. The live I would recommend in warm weather or for young people or on a night out given that the projection packs quite a punch. The sweetness makes it less suitable for formal occasions however. I'm not sure whether I'll buy one because I'm not sure what I should do with it yet, but maybe. The EDT I would recommend in warmer weather or if you want something more professional than the live version. The freshness of the EDT can't be denied and I'll still be using this a lot on formal occasions. If you're still with me after this wall of text, thanks for reading!

Arguably one of the best scents of 2021. A rich, potent concoction of pure delight. Smelling this for the first time, it hits you like a brick and makes you go through all of the emotions. "What is this scent?","This scent smells lovely", "I can't get enough of this scent". Out of all the YSL Y line this is the best, the pinnacle of perfumery. Classy, sophisticated, smooth, delicate and yet explosive. It is just a more rounded and potent Y perfume, the Eau De Parfum and the Eau De Toilette, are both great and did their own things. But they mostly set themselves up for this wonderful fragrance. (Not talking about the elixir, as that is a major disappointment). When you smell this , you think of a smart dressed gentleman, a musician, an artist, a photographer. This is such a creative fragrance, it is perfectly suited for the creative mind, it goes hand-in-hand with that genre of people. Speaking from experience as a photographer, this scent just captures the moment like a camera would. The bottle is sleek and a staplepiece for any fragrance collection. You know what you're getting when you look at the bottle even before smelling the scent. All the notes have been turned up to 'maximum' you can smell all the individual notes if you try hard enough, you can smell the change when it goes to the mid notes and then eventually the bottom notes. The longevity of the scent is beastly. Easily 8 hours on skin, and over 12 hours on clothes. Perfect all rounder perfume, will work in all climates and weather. Smells different than it would if you were to spray it in another season, summer let's say. Blind buy worthy, absolutely. Get the Le Parfum over any of the others in the Y line. You will be chuffed to bits at the scent and how lovely it is. Worth full price in my honest opinion.

I really love YSL Y Le Parfum 2021 & am gutted they felt the need to replace it; Le Parfum 2021 is youthful but also mature. Its that traditional fresh DNA but has a powdery almost vanilla-like soapiness. Its very interesting because the tonka with the other notes really adds a nice nutty vibe. . . But its not dense enough just for winter or fall, because it dries down to a soapy, sour-citrus freshness. Ginger adds a crispness, you're not detecting Ginger but more so the zing you'd get from sniffing it, with hints of grapefruit. It's a much less sour apple than the EDP & has a non-medicinal lavender thats very nice. Most lavender fragrances are way too acrid & have a chemical burn to them. Yet Le Parfum 2021 is very smooth. Its a great 4 season fragrance that opens synthetic but quickly dissipates into a gentle but strong profile. Its perfectly in the middle, great for night or day, summer or winter. Id say its only weakness would be in EXTREME heat, like a heat wave. A personal suggestion as other fragrance lovers will note each scent performs differently based on skin or on clothes. Ive noticed Le Parfum 2021 on clothes is excellent & really extends its projection and performance considerably. That soapy fresh citrus layer quickly disappears on skin but last the entire duration on one's shirt collar. Very heartbroken that my two favorite fragrances are now discontinued. . . 2021 Le Parfum & Eau Fraiche. . . My back up bottles will last me at least another decade, heres hoping I find a decent replacement for either . . As for a quick 2025 comparison, its okay, not bad but the 2021 has better versatility & the newer one limits itself to a 3 season fragrance due to the heavy balsam & pine notes. If the 2021 Le Parfum is a 10/10 id say the 2025 is a 7 or 8/10.

⭐️ My autumn signature. Confident, modern, and perfectly balanced. Y Le Parfum is the scent I reach for when the air gets cooler, the days get shorter, and everything turns a little more reflective. It’s elegant without being flashy, intense without being overwhelming. My go-to for autumn — and one of my all-time favourites. 🧪 Scent Breakdown: Opening: Bright apple and spicy ginger burst out in the opening — fresh, crisp, and slightly sweet, like biting into a cold apple in early October. There’s a hint of aldehydes that gives it that clean, soapy sharpness — but smoother than in earlier Y flankers. Heart: The lavender here is rich and aromatic, not powdery. It blends beautifully with sage and geranium, adding a slightly green, herbal twist. It feels modern and composed. Dry Down: This is where the magic happens. Incense and tonka bean come forward, giving it warmth and depth. It’s smoky-smooth, slightly resinous, with a soft sweetness that lingers. The patchouli and cedar add a subtle woody foundation that never dominates but anchors the scent. 🕰️ When I Wear It: Always in autumn — from brisk mornings to moody evenings. Works well dressed up or down. It’s versatile, but I love it most in cooler weather, where its deeper notes can really unfold. 🧥 The Vibe: Imagine a black cashmere coat, boots hitting wet pavement, amber light spilling through windows. That’s Y Le Parfum. Stylish, clean, mysterious — and just a bit sensual.

This was the first full bottle fragrance I purchased in the YSL Y line. I have also sampled YSL Y EDP Intense and have a full bottle of YSL Y EDP. I think that this is the best YSL Y fragrance in the line, if not YSL Y EDP Intense. The Le Parfum smells similar to the EDP, however it is much more smoother and richer, removing its sweet and sharp edges and instead opting into a more oriental style. The aldehydes in the opening gives the fragrance an airy-like quality that transitions well into the mids, with its clean lavender and herbaceous sage and geranium. The dry down is a little more sweeter than the EDP, instead of ambers and vetiver the dry down focuses on tonka bean, which increases the smooth creamy like quality of this scent. Overall, this fragrance is elegant and is much more versatile than the EDP, where it has the density and richness to last in the colder months. I would recommend this fragrance for anyone who is 21+ years old who wants a fresh fragrance that also has some maturity to it, a contender to Chanel's Bleu De Chanel. This fragrance lasts almost twice as long as the EDP, while you may think it fades fast, trust me it has push and you will go noseblind to it from its oriental, aldehydic nature. Unfortunately this is now discontinued, however if you love the YSL Y DNA, give this one a try! I am so glad that I purchased this before the discontinuation.

The "Y" collection is probably the best designer fragrance collection I know. That is a fairly popular opinion that a lot of people have on this community (I guess), but one unpopular opinion that I have related to this colecction is that Y le parfum is the best one in the line. This fragrance is beautifull! A beautifull mix of freshness, warmness, spices and fruity notes. In the opening you can fell a heavy but also smooth cardamom note that goes amazingly well with the apple and the grapefruit during the first moments. Then, lavender, tonka bean and patchouli start to appear progressively. Ginger is very subtile (at least to my nose, mainly because I dont know pretty well the ginger note). This fragrance is the perfect balance between freshness and darkness. Ysl Y edp kinda has that DNA, but with a prominent blue DNA touch as well that you can find in fragrances like Dylan Blue and others. Y le parfum removes that blue DNA and the final result is just a 10/10. A perfect fresh, dark and misterious scent. Very good longevity (9+ hours), also good projection (more intimate than Y edp but sharper at the same time due to the heavier spices)

Devastated they discontinued this, the newer 2025 Le Parfum is nice & woodsy, but the 2021 Le Parfum is PERFECTION. Le Parfum 2021 has that green apple YSL Y DNA but very crisp, yet intense. Of the ENTIRE YSL Y line this version has the best performance & longevity, after 12 hours it still projects. Unfortunately, the newer YSL Y line flankers suffer in performance. . The newest YSL Y iced cologne boast it last 12 hours but even overspraying last 5. So while Le Parfum 2021 still floats around on discounters it'll be gone in about a year so stock up... Just terrible that YSL keeps discontinuing their best Y flankers (eau fraiche, Le Parfum 2021, Live, EDT 2017) ... atleast the base DNA is still present in the rest.. Seriously 4 sprays of Le Parfum 2021 and im good for the entire day, you just can't get that from ANY of the newer ones. Le Parfum 2021 also is a great year round fragrance, its versatile & smells great. Shame on you YSL, you really dropped the ball here & the Iced Cologne Intense EDT doesn't come close to Le Parfum 2021, BUT they do smell most alike but nothing beats Le Parfum

One thing that held me back from trying this fragrance was the performance. As a performance freak, I wanted my fragrance to last a good 8 hours with 2 feet of projection. Just a few hours ago I went to a mall and saw a YSL boutique to smell Bleu Electrique. Unfortunately, being from a South East Asian resident, it hasn’t arrived yet. But then I peeped the Y Le Parfum bottle and I said; why not? 2 dabs on the wrist, fanned it with my left palm and I smelt this scent. My eyes were popping out of my skull. This. Is. What. I. Wanted. Y. EDP. to. Be. I’m totally against the notion that Y EDP is versatile — There’s no way I’m gonna rock that wearing a tuxedo. However, I can easily rock suit and tie with Le Parfum. Sweet, darker, more mature and more masculine. It’s like this is a distant cousin of Prada L’Homme Intense. This is so good, I don’t really care about the projection anymore. Let’s face it, out of 100 strangers that you meet, only 1 of them will conpliment you anyway. The only possible flanker that will top this if YSL release Y Marine. Let’s run it back YSL, show us what you got.

Overall: 9/10 Performance: 9/10 Scent: 10/10 Sillage: 8.5/10 Price: 9/10 (I got the 60ml for $70 + Tax) YSL Y Le Parfum is a fantastic fragrance that has quickly become one of my favorites. The scent is a perfect blend of fresh, spicy, and aromatic notes, making it incredibly versatile and suitable for almost any occasion. The opening is lively with a burst of ginger and apple, which then transitions into a more mature and composed base of tonka bean and cedarwood. The performance is impressive, lasting around 7 hours on my skin, and the sillage is moderate, making it noticeable without being overpowering. While some might find it a bit synthetic, I think it adds a modern twist to the fragrance. One common complaint is that it might not be as strong as some of the previous YSL releases, but I personally appreciate its more intimate and mature vibe. Overall, YSL Y Le Parfum is a great addition to any fragrance collection and worthy of being a signature scent. In my opinion, it’s even better than the EDP version.

I received my original Y Le Parfum today (all black bottle) and it smells amazing! This is definitely a fragrance for a night out and smells so much better than the 2025 Y Le Parfum which I own as well. The new Y Le Parfum 2025 smells like a shower gel mixed with pine and ginger, while the original smells more mature / masculine, reminds me A LOT of Ralph’s Club Parfum , but BETTER , more creamy with the tonka bean and more warm amber, it doesn’t have that nasty smelling orange blossom that RC Parfum has. I’m sad this is discontinued, and is very hard to find at the moment without prices being super high , I was blessed to find mine for under 100$ and with a batch code of barely hitting 2 years as of this month June 2026. The opening smells like Y EDP but way toned down on the sweetness , then drys down into a creamy dark manly scent, longevity wise I sprayed this at 3pm, 9 hours later I can still smell it on my skin, projection isn’t the best though as it faded within 2 hours. YSL bring this back !!!

YSL Y Le Parfum 2021 (black "Y" metal part in the bottle) is the answer to the question some people, including me, might have had : "I want something with the Y appeal and style of scent but that is less of a blue , fresh fragrance and a little deeper and more of a night time, cozy fragrance". This is basically what it is - the Y DNA is super apparent, but this version is less linear than the EDP and EDP Intense and overall a bit darker, maybe slightly sweeter, and more herbal. It has more of a classic masculine heart than the rest of the Y family in my opinion, with the exception of Eau Fraiche which is mint based and has a strong similarity to some shaving products. It is definitely very nice, and a good addition even if you already have other Y perfumes. If you just want a simpler blue fragrance stick to the EDP, this is a richer and more mature take on that DNA, so its less mass appealing (although its certainly still appealing to most). It does still have a deep blue scent heart though.

I think this by far the best fragrance in the Y line. I tried the EDP and the Intense versions as well, this one is just a better balanced and more versatile frag than the others. It's a darker take on the EDP and can play better in the colder months, much richer smelling. It does not project as well as the EDP, but it smells so much better to me. I think the more fruit forward nature of the EDP make it more playful and almost immature in comparison. I have been wanting to pick a bottle for a while now, I have heard they did a new version for 2025 with completely new notes, and people are very disappointed in it. I find this a little humorous as most frag heads were complaining about this one compared to the EDP to begin with, so I can't blame YSL for wanting to make something new. The frag community is too funny and very hard to please.

Smooth lavender, synthetic apple, and sweet tonka beans. Smells like fresh laundry sanitiser. All season, signature scent worthy. More mature and dressed up than EDP. I personally rock this as a gym scent with an all black fit in winter. There's a nice dose of sweetness in here, and it makes for a good fresh, sweet scent for colder weather, as for hotter days though the sweetness can become too cloying. Performance is decent. I get around 4-5hrs soft projection with 6 sprays. Quite easy to get nose blind to due to the aldehyde dominant dna so I suggest avoid spraying the front of your neck or chest. Sillage is a weird one. The projection is quite good initially, but turns intimate. The fragrance is so aromatic and airy its hard to pick up on especially outside, but its also potent enough where you don't want to overspray indoors.

It is a fragrance that can be used at any time of the year, making it a signature scent. I can say that it leaves a more pleasant impression on my skin compared to the Y EDP version. It's a scent that appeals to general taste and has a high chance of receiving compliments. I would have expected higher longevity and projection for its concentration, but it still has a satisfying performance. 8.5/10. YSL Y Le Parfum, imza parfümü olacak şekilde yılın her zamanı ve her anda kullanılabilecek düzeyde bir parfüm. Koku karakteri ile birlikte, kendi tenimde Y EDP versiyonuna göre daha hoş bir izlenim sunduğunu söyleyebilirim. Genel beğeniye uygun ve iltifat alma olasılığınızın yüksek olduğu bir koku. I really love this fragrance Smell: OK so in the opening it just smells like versace eros but fresher and sweeter, but then as it dries down it smells sweet, earthy and a bit herbal. (Maybe from the cedar??) You also do get a bit of that grapefruit and ginger in the beginning that makes that versace eros smell Performance: See this is the one thing i dont like about this to me, I expected more with the 7-12 hour ratio that fragrantica tells you but to me this only lasts around 5 hours on my skin (And yes, I put on lotion). But the silage is good. It has nice silage that makes strong. This girl said i smelt like the same thing she smelt when she walked into the room. Which i take as good silage. (she said it was good smelling) overall: 7/10 (Btw this is just what it smells to me)

Wow. I love this. It smells a certain way at first but I can’t put my finger on it. The closest I’ve gotten is like liquid Alvedon or in English it might be cough syrup, but in a good way. I loved it as a kid so that might be why, smells amazing either way and it’s quite a bit stronger than the others in the Ysl lineup. You could definitely rock this all year around. Fresh and clean enough to wear in the spring and summer but also sweet and sexy enough to be worn during the colder months of the year. I would for sure buy this if I was looking for a do it all fragrance. Though I wouldn’t say it’s very suitable for dinner dates or night outs. Lacks a bit of the warmth and seductiveness that you’re looking for in those cases but high score nonetheless. 9.5/10

Wow!! I’m blown away! So glad I got a bottle of this before they’re all gone. The fact that they re-formulated this masterpiece into something different instead of adding a flanker is crazy to me. This is like the EdP but without the synthetic strong shower gel teenager smell. The rough edges were smoothed out. The top is nicer and less strong sweet without the synthetic undertone of the EdP. Nice balance of all the notes, aldehydes make it more airy. The harsh spicy dry down replaced with smooth lavender, woods and tonka bean. This is insanely nice! Signature scent worthy and extremely versatile. Layering this with a couple sprays of Le Nuit de L’homme (or Y Elixir which I haven’t sampled) in the winter could be one of the ultimate smells ever. 10/10

I have read that the older black label is better so that is what I acquired, but could only find a 10ml. This is Y EDP in a tuxedo. It is so freaking good. While EDP is a fun screamer of a freshie, this is the older brother at the back of the room watching over his little brother be the life of the party. Parfum will be bringing home the only dime at this party as he knows when to be quiet and when he speaks, he does so eloquently. I am rating this the same as the EDP... 9 5. Intense is louder, but not blended as well so it gets a 9. Elixer is an 8.5 as I feel its just a money grab. It doesn't set itself apart but is still great. I need a bottle of this. Edit: Bottle Aquired!

Most of these comments below are in Reguards to the New Y Le parfum Flanker! This is the OG discontinued SOLID black bottle. Not silver whatsoever. No Pine , not even remotely green in anyway! This is my second favorite of the line. My first is the Ysl Y Live. This Super Fresh and Mature, but not Old Guy mature. To me it’s hella Versatile and a Great Quality of a freshie. Projects very well. I easily get 9 Hours before it’s a skin scent and gone by the 10th or 11th Hour. As A Fragrance Collector and Enthusiast. If anyone has preferably 100ml bottle for sell I would definitely buy. If you have a 2oz for a steal , I’ll probably buy that too Happy Sniffing

I have an OG bottle that was given to me for free years ago. I mostly smell a lot of the green apple note, and some lavender and some ginger. Lasts long and has moderate sillage. It doesn't smell that bad for YSL, but I definitely wouldn't pay over $100 for it.. especially since the Arab colognes I have smell better and are much cheaper. And also apparently they reformulated this cologne so I dont wanna overpay for another bottle if it doesn't smell like the one I own. I give it a 'love' rating because I like the scent of green apple and it's strong, at least with my bottle. Scent Profile: 8/10 Longevity: 9/10 (6-8 hrs) Sillage: 7.5/10 Overall: 9/10
