Yves Saint Laurent Y Live Intense opens with a sweet and very pleasant combination of ginger, bergamot, mint, apple, and pineapple. The opening is very sweet, fresh, fruity, and citrusy. The ginger is a clear accord and feels sharp, aromatic, and intensifies the fragrance. The bergamot, lemon, and mint create a sharp citrusy accord that balances the very sweet opening. The apple and pineapple come across as a combined note of fruits with a woody accord similar to the juniper berries. The violet leaf and geranium are just some soft touches. The initial projection is very good; the fragrance feels aromatically potent. As the fragrance commences to dry-down, some of the base accords are noticeable, the cedar adds soft fresh wood accord but nothing prominent. Both, the musk and ambergris create a boosting accord but don’t add themselves as individual accords, similarly, the incense seems to sharpen other accords but not itself. The vetiver is a very distant tone. The transition from the opening to the dry-down is relatively linear, the tones of the opening continue into the dry-down, however, the initial very high sweetness subsides to moderate and a very faint leathery accord develops. Once Y Live Intense has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a sweet and projecting fresh spicy (ginger and mint), fruity (apple and pineapple), and citrusy fragrance with soft woody and faint floral accords. The fragrance feels delectable, diurnal, energizing, fresh, invigorating, inviting, masculine, modern, playful, rich, sharp, sugary, sweet, versatile, woody, young, zesty, and very pleasant. Y Live Intense has a sharper fruity opening with the pineapple being the prominent note, but these fruity tones lose some of their intensity once the fragrance has reached its dry-down, specifically the pineapple. Y Parfum has less fruity tones but the bergamot and apple are well combined with the juniper berry which continues into the dry-down. Y Live Intense has an airy touch, Y Life Parfum does not; Y Live Intense has an intense opening, Y Live Parfum has an intense dry-down. Y Live develops a soft leathery accord once it has reached its dry-down, Y Live Parfum does not. If you must choose one, choose Y Live Parfum. Y Live Intense competes with other bestsellers like Versace Eros, Dior Sauvage, Versace Dylan Blue, Blue de Chanel, and other fragrances known for their excellent mass-appeal and performance; Mandarina Duck Black is a mandarin and tonka bean delicious fragrance; Baldessarini Nautic Spirit is a sweet, passion fruit, mango, and spicy fragrance; Salvatore Ferragamo F Black Pour Homme EDT is a fresh, woody and peppery fragrance with poor performance; Azzaro Pour Homme Ginger Lover is a sweet, fresh, spicy, and pleasant fragrance. How I came to find this underrated beauty is I basically ordered a load of samples so I could find a sweet but fresh fragrance for spring and early summer, and out of the 5 samples I ordered YSL Y Live came out on top to me! Also I wanted the female input, so 2 female friends whom without my input both also picked this as their favourite, over the likes of ADG Profondo, ADG Profumo, YSL Y EdP and Mr. Burberry Indigo, so of course I brought a big bottle and a backup bottle as I heard rumours at that time that Y Live was getting discontinued, which we now know was true, sadly. I love this fragrance, it is very uplifting, I like wearing it for spring and summer evenings. The smell for some reason from the first sniff it reminded me of swimming in a nice outdoor pool with underwater lights at night during a warm evening of summer, anyone else picture that when smelling this? If you like compliments then this maybe one to think about, as this is my most complimented fragrance on par with Sauvage EdT and Eros EdT which everyone knows, yet Y Live is still unique because nobody I know is wearing this yet it is an absolute crowd pleaser especially with the ladies, whom give me the most compliments when I wear this out.. But YSL discontinued Y Live... Go figure?! If YSL had just maybe marketed it a bit more and produced it for a couple more years I think this could of caught momentum like many classic well known fragrances. This fragrance ticks all the boxes for a likeable fragrance, clean, fresh and sweet. The Y DNA runs through the heart of this fragrance and this gives it a more elegant smell in comparison to your more typical fresh and sweet fragrances. Smell: 10/10 Longevity: 8 hours, with double sprays on each area Projection: Strong for 1+ hours, moderate for 3+ hours after that and then more intimate for the rest of its life on skin

Well this fragrance gets a lot of hate, which in my opinion is totally undeserved. It's a great all rounder which is pleasant in the air and gets great reactions from others. I actually think it's the sweet spot in the line, as really this, the EDP and the EDT have a very similar scent profile (although this does have a bit of Invictus mixed in). Where they differ a lot is in the performance. The EDT is terrible in that category and is gone in an hour. The EDP has enormous performance and although the smell around you is nice, up close on skin it can be rather caustic. This has good performance on my skin (5-7 hours) and great sillage without being too over the top close up. I love YSL scents but the performance of some of them is appalling, however I don't think so here. The scent opens fruity, sweet and a little musty (in a good fougere way) with the bergamot, orange blossom and pear (more pleasant than in JPG Ultra Male). I get zero ginger. Once it's dried down it's all about the aromatics and is dominated by the juniper and sage (I know there is some debate as to whether there is sage in here but I'm sure there is). The mid is dominated by the earthy aromatics and rounded off by the fruity top notes. I think it's a great scent and my favorite of the mass appealing blue scents. Is it synthetic? Yes. But I think it smells more high quality than Invictus and anything from JPG. I think Dolce and Gabbana Light blue intense is more of an aquatic and Versace Dylan Blue is on par with this in the blue category. If you want a versatile and crowd pleasing all rounder that can be used in just about any situation, forget the trolls and give this one a try.

I just got this in since it is going away. I love the Y line, even if it is generic to come (all hail Bleu fragrances haha). This one is becoming a new obsession for me. I found myself wearing it multiple days in a row without even thinking. It just smells like a soapier version of the EDP, but there's something about the toned down power of it that, ironically, I'm liking more than the in-your-face EDP (still a long love of mine). I've worn this both to the office & the gym and it has decent staying power after at least a full 9-5. The notes on here are wrong, though. As the YSL website lists: Head: Orange Blossom, Ginger, Bergamot Heart: Juniper, Sage, Geranium, Lavender Base: Cacao, Fir Balsam, Cedarwood This may sound like a boring combination, especially since sage is everywhere now, but the main items I get in this are the ginger, bergamot, sage, geranium, lavender & cedar. It's soapy & sweet, definitely retains the Y DNA but makes it a little more work-friendly. Not that the EDP doesn't work in most situations, but this is definitely a more summer friendly flanker and I look forward to wearing it then (RIP to Eau Fraiche as well). The Y line introduced me into modern men's perfumery, and this is one Y that I love having now. Shame it's been discontinued, I may need to source another bottle as I'm still wearing this very often...

Okay this isn't what I expected in the slightest. On first spray I was pretty disappointed thinking "oh great, bubblegum. Magic." After about a half hour, I was relieved, because about 70% of the bubblegum departs, and what remains is a sort of musky, woody sweetness that I am insane for. I bought this on hype, because I knew it is being discontinued, and a lot of people were saying it is underrated and a compliment superbeast. I can see why it might be, and a real shame it is going away. When this is the case, if someone is curious, I recommend blind buying, because it is an incredibly safe scent for the office and daily wear, and the worst that could happen is you end up selling it for a lot more money later once it becomes more scarce and expensive. I've smelled all the Y's so many times, but never owned one, so it's hard for me to directly compare. All I know is that this one just smells more appealing to me than any of the others have on my skin. It just has a better mix of the sweetness, blueness, and woods so it just pleases my nose a little more.

I just received Y eau fraiche and love it and I had to order this as I pretty much want to collect the whole line or at least from the EDP down in concentration. I can say this does walk the line between the EDT and EDP but with some Invictus thrown in for good measure. These are off first impressions but I really like this and could have skipped the EDP for this as I found the EDP a little over the top for my tastes. All the YSL Y's work for me and I get at least moderate performance and longevity if not better so I don't think this will be any less. Updates to come after a few wears. First impression, this is good!!! Edit: I got a few good wears in with this and returned. It wasn't nuclear like the EDP but it managed to give me a nice size headache the two times I wore it on skin. At this point since it's DC'd Id just go for ysl Myself if you are looking for something in this ballpark. My favorite from the line remains Y eau Fraiche then Y Edt 2022, both smell great and hang around most of the day.

Just copped an 60ml of this new gem from YSL. I agree with others whom stated that this smell like the EDP with an Invictus undertone. But I find this to be the perfect middle ground between the EDT and the EDP. It take the richness that I love about the EDP but find can be too thick at certain times and lighten it up with an Coach for men type of vibe. It makes the DNA light and dark at the same time. In my honest opinion, this line is knocking it out the ballpark. Each and every Y is an very versatile scent without being too “cookie cutter blue”. Scent: 8.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 (the EDP is 10/10 lol) Sillage: I find this fairly “airy” Compliments: 10/10 Overall take: If you are a huge fan of the Y line like myself or just have the EDT, I say pull the trigger. Otherwise if you own the EDP it’s slightly redundant (not ultra-redundant like the guy below stated). Final Rate: 9/10

This is what the EDP should have been! I can smell the underlying crisp, fresh aldehydes and ginger from the EDT beneath a sweet fruitiness and pillowy floral touch that gives it a denser profile. Some say it's like Invictus, and while I don't think it contains the thicker aromatics and aquatic notes, it does have the fruity bubblegummy aspects of it, all while keeping the overall uplifting scent profile of the lighter Y flankers. It's smoother and fluffier than Y EDT, and less thick and herbaceous than the EDP. This truly is one of the best flankers in the Y line. What a shame it's extremely hard to find, and for such a steep price. But if you can find a bottle of it for a decent price, this is one of the TOPS from this line. I just finished an 8ml decant of this and I'm very sad to see it go. Farewell, beautiful, I treasured every moment with you. 🥹

Was testing several fragrances in the Amsterdam airport while traveling back home, and this was the one that grabbed my attention, until I decided to buy it. I’m not a fan of the original or the EDP, but this one is different. I’m a fan of ginger, big fan, so there you go. So, imagine Savage or Coach Platinum with the ambroxan turned down and ginger added to it. And that is basically Y Live. Does not change much during the life of the scent, which in this case, is a good thing. Projects very well for a few hours and lasts about 9 hours on my skin. This is not gound breaking, but that is not the point of the creation. The point is to improve what I think was the mistakes created on the original versions, EDT or EDP, and YSL nailed it!. Believe me, this is a really good scent, that will pleases you and the people around you.

I have this one (decant) but haven't worn it much due to the descriptions online and my own first impression about how overly sweet it is. I'm about 40 and don't want to come across as someone trying too hard not to be old :). As spring has arrived I thought I'd give it another try. The opening, and really the first 1-2 hours, is still really sweet. Good, but sweet. But after that it settles down into a really, really nice warm, woody, shower gel vibe. I've been doing some comparisons with this and Invictus Aqua, Y EDP and Legend Spirit and this one keeps grabbing my attention in the dry down, there is just something about it. Of course my wife loves it too, which never hurts. Underrated IMO.

The gnarliest scent ever and is totally my favorite One day when I was bout 11/12 I caught a whiff of this amazing fragrance n it was comin from this dude sittin next to me at the mall. He was wearin this sick leather jacket and had this super cool vibe goin on I had the courage to ask him what he was wearin and so he told me it was Y Live by YSL From that day on I was hooked. I went out with my family the very same day n it’s been bought for me so it's been my go-to ever since1!1! It has this masculine citrusy smell mixed with some pine notes. It's like the perfect blend of chill and hype Whenever I wear it people are always asking me what I'm wearin n I'm like "Y Live bro it’s the bomb”

just to add ... Now that I own samples of all the Y line I don't already own and have spent time with all of them, I can say without a shadow of doubt, this is it, the one, the best of the Y line, it has everything I like about the EdT and EdP and filters out everything I don't like about them, this is the perfect iteration of the Y scent. Those that have overlooked this one because of its name and lack of promotion are truly missing out. If you can only buy one YSL Y I would say go for Y Live whilst it is still reasonably priced (as it is discontinued), I am so glad I own a couple of bottles. Y line top 5 1. Y Live EdT intense 2. Slightly sweeter version of the EDP with a freshness added that dries down to a slightly sweeter Y EDT but a bit less "spicy". Its less cloying than the EDP, but still has great performance on my skin. Projects fairly well while lasting the whole day for me, and it is something I don't go noseblind to as easily as other fragrances. It is a great fragrance overall, but out shadowed by the others in the line. I believe it is quite underrated and too many snobs throw dirt on it for not being something "mind blowing". Even so, I find myself going back to this quite a lot and can never get enough.

I am a huge fan of Azzaro Wanted EDT. Back in my early 20s, it was my go-to fragrance for night events. As I approach 30, I wanted to find a scent that maintains the same essence but is more age-appropriate (though, of course, wear what you like regardless of age). After doing some research and testing several fragrances, I stumbled upon Y Live, and it unquestionably fulfills all my requirements. It captures the essence I adore while exuding a more mature yet playful vibe, making it a perfect choice for this stage of my life.

A fresh, sweet and clean fragrance. Draws some similarities to invictus with its sweetness so if you like that, you'll love YSL Y Live. The fragrance performs fantastically for me as it lasts about 8hrs for me in all conditions. I projects immensely in the heat and cuts through the cold with ease. A very likeable scent that the ladies absolutely love. Personally I love how it combines freshness with sweetness. An extremely versatile, compliment pulling fragrance for a man who wants to smell good in all situations.

Y edp subdued mixed with Invictus and Orange Blossom. This is better than both and most if not all of the Y line(atleast the EDT,EDP and Le parfum for me). Not extremely unique but it's designer you shouldn't expect something totally unique since they need to make money and appeal to the masses. EDIT:Good if you can find at a deal but quite generic that I think it would put off the Frag community. I guess a alternative that's readily available is MYSLF since both are from YSL.

Without a doubt, this is the middle child of the Y line in almost every sense of the term. If you took the average performance, sillage, and note breakdowns of Y EDP and Y EDT, you get Y Live. Unfortunately that means it's often overlooked. This stuff smells super clean with a bit of sweetness to it. Lasts around 6 and a half hours on my skin. Somehow the sweetness reminds me of the Invictus line. Very youthful, but it won't come off as cloying as the EDP.

Oh hey compliments! Nice to meet you! Which means, hey people hating this for no reason other than the mass-appeal! Lol Y meets Invictus. It’s that simple, and it works. Synthetic but not in a hairspray/cleaner sort of way, just in a good smelling aroma chemical kind of way...like nearly every fragrance. Please stop saying “synthetic” as a descriptor, because nearly 100% of fragrance in the designer realm is going to be sYntHeTiC

I've had YSL Y Edp, but that was way too overpowering and cloying for me so I sold it. I got YSL Y Live sample with another purchase and it's surprisingly very good scent. It smells exactly like edp, but projects less and is not as obnoxious as edp. YSL Y Live still has good performance, but due to less sillage it's much more suitable for office.

Yves Saint Laurent Y Live Sweet-floral-fresh. Fresh-floral with a little sweetness added (from the ginger and sage). The EDP is too sweet for the summer so Y Live is more usable in high temperatures (+30). Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 6-7 hours Sillage: average Versatility: all seasons; office, school, night out, gym.

Good God Almighty! This stuff right here is the definition of versatility and compliment getting. Sexy, classy and everything you could ask for in a designer fragrance. Ysl did a fantastic job with the whole Y line. This probably being the best, narrowly edging out the EDP.

This is YSL Y EDT mixed with YSL Y EDP and invictus. Smells like invictus minus the synthetic notes to start with. Then drys down very similar to the EDP and has that classic YSL Y smell. Love this stuff. Performance is okay though. 8.5/10

Very fresh and fruity! As other reviewers have stated, it is definitely a cross between Y EDP/EDT and Invictus. It is a lot better than the poor reviews have made it out to be. Girlfriend loves it and other ladies as well.

I can describe it as a mass pleasing compliment getter. The ginger and the bergamot are overwhelming in a good way. Longevity is amazing on my skin. I like to mix it with other fresh fragrances.

I feel like the haters here just wanted something a lot different from the EDP. I prefer this over the EDP better for year round I wish it came in a 150ml or 200ml.

I think this is the best blend of the Y’s.

I'm writing this review after trying the EDT, EDP, live and le parfum and I'll try my best to compare them as objectively as I can. I own the EDT and EDP, and the le parfum and live I have tried multiple times from a sample. All of the fragrances of this series are some of my favorites. Even though these fragrances are from the same series, it would be a mistake to assume they're the same. Overall, their openings are similar, going for a fresh, natural and aromatic smell and all of them are great actually. They also have the same vibe, going for a natural walk in the forest idea. However they present you with a bit of a problem that if you would only try them for a short while it would be hard to notice any differences. The differences start when you get to the drydown. Each one has a different note in the drydown that has the major role. The drydowns also have a very different level of warmth to it which makes them suitable for different occasions or climates. Openings: If I had to choose, I would say the the le parfum has the best opening. It's deeper than the others and very intense. The EDP probably has the least stunning opening because there are no aldehydes in this one. The opening is still good however. The EDT has a more fresh opening but it lacks the intensity of the way the notes envelop you at the start like the le parfum does. The live version has an opening that is a bit unique compared to the others as it contains some added sweetness. Besides this, the store I bought this from has different info on the notes, those being: Top: Bergamot, lemon, ginger. Middle: Orange Blossom, geranium, sage. Base: Cacao, tonka bean, juniper. I think fragrantica is wrong on this one because there is definitely tonka bean in this one. Drydowns: Here the EDP is in my opinion the best. It really encapsulates the walking in a spring forest vibe extremely well with the natural and woody scents. Especially the amberwood in the drydown is just too good. The only bad thing that I have to say is that if you compare the EDP to the le parfum that the EDP is a lot less noticeable, which is weird because by itself it is my favorite. I would argue this is because the drydown of the le parfum has stronger smells. The drydown of the le parfum is the most warm scent of the series. The other ones go more for a fresh drydown but the le parfum does no such thing. It's more of a wood and mild spicy kind of smell, resulting from the ceder and tonka bean notes. I say mild spice because they have a certain softness to it. In this sense it's also pretty different compared to the other ones. The le parfum is clearly the most long lived as well. My only issue with the le parfum is that the woody-spicy-tonka bean smell is kind of predictable but that doesn't mean it's bad. The EDT is the more fresh. It is also the one I would prefer wearing in very warm weather. The musk note is very noticeable in the drydown and a nice addition. The musk is also not too dominating (which often happens) and well balanced with the other ingredients. The projection and longevity of this drydown is a bit weaker compared to the other ones. There is nothing wrong with the quality itself, it's more that your nose gets used to certain smells so if you own multiple of this series you might want to consider spraying some extra to make sure you get this one. The live version has a drydown that trades the slight woody smell from EDP for some added sweetness and freshness. After about an hour to 2 hours the smell can be very dense if you smell it up close so maybe don't spray too much, or take that as an indication that you have good projection, you choose. The EDT is also fresh but I would say this one more so and I actually like that a lot. The added sweetness however is another story, I would argue that it limits it's potential because it makes this one a lot less classy than the other fragrances in the Y line. It's a more straightforward smell and it doesn't have the depth the other ones do but it does smell amazing. Overall (for me personally): 1. EDP 2. le parfum 3. Live 4. EDT The EDP is my favorite, it gives you the vibe that this scent was made for perfectly. That being said, the other ones are good too and they can be more suitable depending on the occasion or weather. The le parfum I would highly recommend as well. The warmness of the smell really takes it into a different direction than the other ones. I'm definitely picking this one up if I can get a good price on it, if that means anything to you readers. The live I would recommend in warm weather or for young people or on a night out given that the projection packs quite a punch. The sweetness makes it less suitable for formal occasions however. I'm not sure whether I'll buy one because I'm not sure what I should do with it yet, but maybe. The EDT I would recommend in warmer weather if you want something more professional than the live version. The freshness of the EDT can't be denied and I'll still be using this a lot on formal occasions. If you're still with me after this wall of text, thanks for reading!

Today I'm returning to the house of YSL to take a look at another discontinued fragrance: YSL Y Live. I picked this up at the same time I grabbed Y Eau Fraiche, hoping that I had scored two rare gems at once. Y Eau Fraiche turned out to be an amazing fragrance, and one that will definitely be getting a lot of use while the weather is still warm. Will Y Live continue the winning trend? Let's get into it and find out. Opening: The opening is a vibrant mix of citrus, spice, and aromatics. The primary notes are bergamot, orange blossom, ginger, and juniper, with the ginger and orange blossom being the most prominent. The orange blossom hits first, with a blast of sweet and citrusy white floral tones that have a distinctly fruity, "orange-y" accord—a unique twist, as orange blossom notes typically lean more floral without any fruity qualities. Right behind it is the ginger, providing a solid, almost nose-tickling dose of bright, effervescent spiciness. Up next is the bergamot and juniper. The bergamot adds a bit more of a citrus quality, but is nuanced with its usual spicy and aromatic qualities. Lastly, the juniper gives the opening some more aromatics in the background, underlined by the piney tone typical of juniper. Dry Down: The dry down remains citrusy, aromatic, and spicy. The primary notes are still orange blossom, ginger, bergamot, and juniper, but the strongest have now become the bergamot and juniper. The bergamot occupies a central role in the dry down with a boosted dose of the same citrusy, spicy, and aromatic tones from the opening. Likewise, the juniper has emerged from the background to be highlighted as a punchy aromatic accord with its signature piney qualities. This is followed by the orange blossom and ginger. The orange blossom has taken a step back in the dry down to play a supporting role. It still carries a soft, white floral accord, but it doesn't have the same orange-y fruitiness it had in the opening. Lastly, the ginger has moved to the background, still giving hints of its sparkling, fresh spiciness, but to a lesser degree. Further into the dry down, the fragrance deviates from the fruity sweetness of the opening and leans more into the aromatic, piney, and ammoniac accords of the juniper, with the sage coming into play as well. Performance: The initial projection within the first hour is strong and reaches out about 6 feet. Sillage is strong as well and leaves an easily noticeable scent trail. After a few hours, the performance was largely unchanged; the projection was still around 6 feet, and the scent trail was still easily noticeable. At the 8-hour mark, the projection was only about arm's length, and the scent trail was only faintly noticeable. The fragrance became a skin scent around the same time. When to Wear: Y Live is a spring/summer fragrance that can be worn day or night. The Y DNA is historically known for being extremely versatile, and Y Live is no different. It could be worn for essentially any situation: casual, formal, or special. It would even be a suitable pick for the office or the gym. Blind Buy: If you like the Y line, or you enjoy aromatic-citrusy scent profiles in general, this would be a safe blind buy. Just know that it is very fruit-forward in the opening. Final Verdict: The opening of Y Live was incredible—by far my favorite in the entire Y line. Y Eau Fraiche is a close second with its icy lemonade accord, but the fruity and fresh opening of Y Live just hits differently. Unfortunately, this didn't carry into the dry down. The fruity sweetness was almost completely gone after a few hours, and the fragrance had transitioned into something focused on aromatics and fresh spice. As it continued to dry down, it leaned heavily into the juniper and developed an ammoniac accord similar to what you can find in fragrances like Roja's Elysium, which I don't necessarily enjoy. The performance was also not as powerful as I'd hoped. I had heard that Y Live was a strong contender performance-wise, but it barely lasted through a workday. Overall, I'm glad to have Y Live in my collection for the sake of posterity and so I can experience that phenomenal opening every once in a while. However, I wouldn't recommend anyone go out of their way to find it or spend a lot of money on it. Just get Y EDP; it's close enough and has much better performance. Wow. I've just got home from sniffing this in a store, alas just on a paper strip. It's a lovely bright uplifting fragrance kind of in the style of Montblanc Legend Spirit, to me they're pretty close although not quite identical. Very nice indeed, I'll look to get a sample when I can. I'm surprised at the relatively low score here, but then maybe I shouldn't be as feel-good crowd pleasing (as well as wearer pleasing!) scents often get derided here. Edit; Looking elsewhere online the above notes seem incorrect. Although there's a ginger vibe in the opening it apparently isn't one of the listed official notes, nor is juniper. Supposedly pear, cocoa and tonka bean are though! I wonder where from where Fragrantica got the above notes table! Really a nice scent although it is in a similar style to many other current designers this one is highly worth checking out, long-lasting with good sillage it seems.

I had to come back and say, don't let the negative reviews put you off this one, unless of course you don't like modern fresh and invigorating scents, stuff such as Y EDP, Montblanc Legend Spirit and PR Invictus Aqua etc, even YSL l'Homme Ultime and the recent l'Homme Parfum. This is surely one of the best of the current crop of so-called 'blue' type mass-pleasing and versatile scents, with excellent sillage and longevity. I like how the ambery cacao gives it a slight warmth in the late dry-down along with the thankfully not-too-strong tonka bean. I'll be getting a sample/decant for sure, maybe even a full bottle at some point. Y EDP projects very good! It's something I noticed right away. It is a very strong scent and a very good smelling one. I was excited for Y Live because people say it sits between the EDT and the EDP in both scent and performance which is what I was looking for. Y Live opens just like the EDP, but they dry down to be different scents. Y EDP retains its apple+sage in the dry down, whereas Y Live becomes softer and the apple is toned down. In the dry down Y Live smells like a mix between Y EDP and Armani Code Colonia. Must be the tonka bean and amberwood being more present. I would say Y EDP is the better scent, but because of its performance you may not want to wear it at your workplace depending on the culture there. Y Live is still a very good scent and I find it to be more appropriate because of its lighter scent. This gets a 7.5/10 from me.

Appears as though Y Live is being phased out for the US market. It's still readily available abroad and at duty free shops --- for now. UPDATE: Y Live has a case of the generic, shower gel, semi-spicy year round blue cologne. The opening is quite nice and very similar to Invictus OG, and the dry down smells like Jimmy Choo Urban Hero. Y Live seems to be best suited for guys under 30, who have little interest in fragrances and simply want or need No-Brainer signature scent cologne for multi-purpose and year round use. Based on how Y Live smells. I can see how it's no longer being sold at first point of sale retailers such as Macys, Nordstroms, Dillards, et cetera, and primarily available from grey market sellers. Nonetheless, glad to have Live in my collection, despite it's lackluster composition. Overall: 6/10

It seems like no one can agree on a note pyramid for this fragrance. What I can assure you is that the one currently listed is incomplete and misleading; Y Live is much fruitier and less floral than suggested here. Top: Bergamot, Lemon, Pear Mid: Orange Blossom, Geranium, Juniper Base: Cacao, Cedarwood, Tonka bean IMO this is a more complete listing of notes, a mishmosh of a pyramid from other sites but more accurate than what Fragrantica currently has. I've only given Y Live a proper wearing once but it's definitely not a floral fragrance. Seems to be a toned-down version of Y EDP, I'll post my thoughts later.

Picked up Y Live in London. I have the EDP and I absolutely love that fragrance. Expected something with more of a zing to it, but upon spraying it, there is ZERO difference between EDP and Live. After a good 15-30 min Drydown, you will finally find it. It has some citrus nuance that is lovely. Smells great and pretty strong. With barely a spritz on my hand, it far outlasted another Hermes fragrance I tried on the other hand and it to projects strongly. Fantastic! However... Should you get it? Nah, get the EDP. The nuance is barely noticeable. However, it smells just as wonderful as the EDP. 8.5/10

If I’m being honest I like all the Y line fragrances. EDP being my favorite. I actually just purchased this one today as it’s basically a mix between the EDT and EDP. Every fragrance in the Y line has decent projection and good longevity. They’re just good smelling fragrances, they may not be everyone’s cup of tea, or won’t WOW a lot of people, but to me that’s a good thing. Because not everyone will be wearing them and you’ll get great reactions from people around you and you won’t be smelling like everyone else wearing Sauvage or BDC 🤷🏻♂️Be bold! And stand out!

My favourite of the Y line. I don't own any of them but have samples of most. This reminds me of the original EDT but as the name suggests more 'Intense' and with a touch of Invictus aqua or Legend Spirit. The opening is quite bombastic, very fruity pear & citrus, this to me is where it's similar to Legend Spirit (not the listed notes but the smell). This projects a lot early on, doesn't seem to last as long as the EDP for me but I like the added freshness of Live. As with the whole Y line it's not re-writing the fragrance rule book but it smells good for sure.

Have had this since last summer. Wore it quite often, but won't buy again. This is very similar to Invictus Legend, especially the opening. Where it differs from Legend is in performance. After the first 30 minutes to an hour, Y Live loses much of it's initial "blue" strength and becomes more of a safe, office or gym fragrance. There is no reason to have both fragrances and if I was to recommend one over the other it would be Invictus Legend. It simply performs better. Out of the line, I prefer Y EDP.

Just tried this today at the mall. The opening is really sweet and reminded me of Invictus Legend. Got it sprayed on a paper strip and took it home with me. The sweetness tones down in the drydown, and it smelled more like Y EDP. Still, the bubble gummy sweetness retains through out till the end. I think this is one of those which fragheads will not be impressed with, but it is mass appealing and will garner compliments. I have both the EDT and the EDP, not sure if I want this as well.

This Fougere fragrance is a nice scent. Top notes : Bergamot, Lemon, Grapefruit and Pear. Heart notes : Orange blossom and Geranium. Base notes : Juniper, Cocoa, Cedarwood and Tonka Bean. It opens up with like sweet citrusy then dry down is sweet woody. This perfume is Airy , Elegant and Classy. It is suitable for the spring and summer. Longevity is good. I like Y Live EDT Intense YSL. Highly recommended. Rating : 8 / 10

It's a much sweeter version if YSL Y. I usually like sweeter scents but this almost smelled like candy. I didn't get a "fresh" vibe from it, it was more of a watery-berry-sweet. It's still a pleasant smell, and it isn't cloying. Performance was weak. Projected for maybe 2-3 hours, then it became a skin scent, and it was basically gone after 5 hours. Not worth it really. YSL Y is better rounded and performs better.

Y Live opens very bright with grapefruit and bergamot it gives off The invictus bubblegum smell I don’t actually like invictus but this is really really good it last for about a hour and a half then the ♦️ Amberwood takes over the fragrance for 8+ hours so if u don’t like amber wood don’t get this.to me I paid $85 and it’s worth every penny I hope this help. it’s a good all year around fragrance

Tried it today, two sprays on my hand. If you own either the edt or edp there is no point in owning this. It smells very similar to both, and i am guessing it is due the sage. It is slightly more bitter than the edt probably due to the juniper. Furthermore it performs worse than my Y edt. I sprayed it 4 hours ago and i can only faintly smell it on my hands. This just feels like Y edt light.

This smells just like the EDP, just less intense and less performance, 3 sprays of this does pretty much the same thing as 2 sprays of the EDP, I'm no expert but this isn't as different compared to the EDP as some youtube reviews want you to believe, if you get a better deal on this than the EDP just get this one

I don't think it has been discontinued or phased out from the North American market it simply being renamed to Yves Saint Laurent Y Eau Intense Eau de Toilette. It is not Y Live now but instead Y Eau Intense (you will still see on the boxes Live though). It's ok just another blue mainstream fragrance.
