Have Just Bought Myself An 80ml YSL La Collection Yvresse edt As I've Never Owned This Perfume & This Past Few Year's I've Had A Longing To Own It & Now I Do!! I Actually Remember This Perfume Being Launched In The 90s & All The Hype That Surrounded It,& The Beautiful 5ml Miniature Sample Bottle In The Small Shinny Golden Box!! My Goodness I Was In My Early Twenties Then & I Honestly Wasn't Very Keen On Champagne As It Was Called Then Nor Did I Really Understand Fragrance As I Do Now!! & Stupidly I Passed My Sample Onto My Mother Who Also Wasn't That Keen On It & Passed It Onto My Grandmother Who Absolutely Adored It,& Who Went On To Buy A Few Bottles Of It!! Now I'm In My Late Forties I Was Eager To Try It,& 0 My Goodness I Not Only Absolutely Love It,It Smells Absolutely Outstanding On Me!! So Classy So Expensive & Deffo A Perfume That I Know Will Always Wear & Own!! You Could Say That I've Now Grown Into YSL Yvresse & I'm The Right Age To Enjoy It!! I Agree 100% That This Perfume Does Indeed Remind Me Very Much Of My All Time Favourite Guerlain Mitsouko Which I Love & Wear Although Yvresse Is Deffo NOT As Animalistic & Dark As Mitsouko!! This Fragrance Is Also More Sparkling Just Like A Glass Of Really Expensive Champagne Where The Bubbles Actually Tickle Your Nose!! I am affluent ( since you need to be if you have the yvresse addiction! ), sophisticated, immaculately-mannered and with a library in my head. This is how Yvresse speaks to me and commands to behave accordingly! This is THE upperclass lady scent, and it smells absolutely ridiculous on those who can't at least play the role! Cold season/evening substance, rather grownup ( would think twice before if I were in my 20s! ) and very content with life and itself: full-bodied, plum, sparkling currant or rose wine. It is everyday glamour of intelligence. Dimmed lights in an old library occupying a grand historic building, suede emerald ( I detect a little chypre in there ) and wine-coloured fabrics, curtains with tassels, old books sitting in neighbourhood of a cognac-filled glass and creme de la creme moving around slowly while discussing the burning political and social issues. When I wear it it makes me work for it, listen, read, learn, keep my back straight and never dine without a napkin and proper dinnerware. A very old beauty of a rapidly vanishing lifestyle: so grateful it has been at least preserved in a bottle! Apropos, the flakon of the ETD/ EDP is everything the scent is not ( the pure perfume bottle looks more sophisticated because of the golden "wiring" effect at the sides ): as far as you can get away from sophistication, a child's toy shape and hardly memorable, would not be bringing any grace to one's vanity table. The only thing that holds me back from keeping it inside a wall cabinet is the contents: I would never want it to be too far away from my reach. I sniff it at least one a day ( from the bottle cap) even when I am wearing other perfumes. It reminds me what I can be and what kind of woman I aspired to become when I was a little girl.

I disagree with the review below mine. I've had Toy Boy 2 the pink bear and while that is a nice fragrance and fun it is bubble gum with soft hum of fruits and florals in the background. I gave my blind buy bottle to some children (with their mom's permission) It is nothing like YSL Yvresse except for maybe the fruitiness. What I find so captivating about this fragrance is how different and original it smells compared to the fruity perfumes of "today". It has more life. A pop, a fizziness. The mint, caraway, and anise blended with the peach, apricot must create that quality. I do agree wholeheartedly with @Sweedishmilk15 This fragrance has a very effervescent quality to it. It smells like a celebration in a bottle. Very lively and fun. There is a complexity here that many of today's perfumes lack. That's why I'm been on a vintage hunt as of late. Many of today's perfumes bore me to tears. This is a great classic. But for me it really does smell timeless. It doesn't smell dated at all if that is something you worry about. If you like fruity perfumes but would like something with more sophistication give YSL Yvresse a try. This is something you can wear everyday into evening anytime anywhere. Very versatile. Edit; I didn't know there was there was a clear Toy I thought the pink one was toy 2 but it is toy 2 bubble gum. My bad. I have smelled Toy Boy original the black bear and I thought it was very masculine and gave my mini to my husband to wear. He liked it but not enough to want a FB. I wore my small decant yesterday 1/6/26. Soki London Nectarine fragrance should take a note from this classic fruity, spicy, floral. This is the best nectarine fragrance I have ever smelled.

I still have a mini bottle of this, half full, edp with the original formulations of Y and Rive Gauche (which I also have in full edp vap). These came in a box of 5 edp s by YSL and date aprox. From 1995 onwards. I turned 21 last week and this is a scent that I think I'll never be able to remove from my head. It's warm, so sweet and delicious, it's so inviting, like flamed peaches that almost turned into jam placed above some milky conoction and as you eat this dessert you clear your palate with the softest champagne.sadly this never developed into the chypre notes, perhaps because my bottle is really old. I was recently reunited with Champagne (i didn't know it had changed it's name until last week) because my aunt gave me Lancome's Tresor In Love as a gift, and as I wore it I noticed the peaches bore some resemblance as a fragrance that I learned to interpret as the sultriest when I was barely 5 years old and browsing through my mom's perfume collection. I'm not saying they're alike because they are completely different olfactory experiences, but the peaches brought me back to this frag. Needless to say, I never wore it at that age, neither will I do now, just to test it on my skin It's like my little secret, I've been doing it since I was a child until I turned 15 and got my own perfumes to play with. My mother barely ever used this since she's into the more aldehydic kind of frag. This is my eternal peachy embrace.

Ah, Yvresse, such an exquisite creation! A beautiful chypre heavy on the FRESH peach, apricot and nectarine that's still classy and full bodied. According to my nose Yvresse opens with a heavy blast of the aforementioned fruits (did I stress it enough that they smell incredibly natural?) and a touch of mint. Then lots of cinnamon is revealed and the warmth of it makes a fantastic contrast with the mint and the fruits. During the drydown I can smell lots of oakmoss too. The future of oakmoss in perfumery is uncertain now but it's such a sophisticated element... There are so many other notes listed: litchi, rose caraway, violet, carnation, patchouli, amber, jasmine, benzoin, iris, anise, coconut, vetiver, cedar, vanilla, musk, styrax ans lily of the valley. Although they are not that prominent to my nose they really contribute with their subtle nuances and contrasts, it's a real olfactory symphony. Sophia Grojsman must have been really inspired. Yvresse does smell unique and sparkling, it's a powerhouse and a total beauty! Did I just say ''does''? I meant ''did'' and it hurts me to say so. The 2011 formulation ''La Collection'' packaged in the white blocky bottle is just mediocre. The top notes were almost the same and I was hopeful. But after a certain amount of time I only get a far cry from the original. Just imagine Capella Sistina without colors. And I'm deeply sorry for that.

I bought my first bottle of Champagne unsniffed when it came out in 1993, for the bottle to be honest. At that time I got a mini parfum of it too, I think as gwp. I wasn't expecting a lot as I was (and still am) a lover of orientals and it was advertised as fruity floral. The first sniff of the unique sparkling, aldehydic, juicy peach-apricot-spice top notes on my skin was all it took to convince me it was true love. I'd probably pay for a bottle that just gave me a few minutes at a time of that. It's a bonus that the woody, lightly powdery, rosy cinnamon heart is gorgeous and the oakmoss-amber drydown lasts forever. It's elegant; crisp and dry, rich but not heavy. Sillage is good but not too much for strict modern standards. It's very different from the super sweet fruity scents that are popular now, so it's probably not the best blind buy for most millenials. I've kept it in my collection ever since 1993, one of my top ten. I finally got a purse spray of the Yvresse version recently. It's very similar in scent to Champagne - a little bit less cinnamon and slightly less aldehydic and powdery. The longevity and sillage are both a good chunk less. All in all it's one of the better YSL reformulations I've worn. Btw, for Eloquaint or anyone else wishing for an even lighter version, there's Yvresse Legere. (legere means light)

I recieved this as a gift from my Father in 1994, having no idea that YSL were just about to be legally challenged to drop the name from Champagne to Yvresse, I sprayed Champagne daily, throwing bottle into Uni bag, denting the box. Little did I know I was tossing around a potential rare collectable. It was only when I returned to the shops sometime later, to re-buy, I discovered my darling Champagne had gone :( It had been re-branded Yvresse, somewhat different. 20 Years on Im glad to say I have repurchased a boxed Champagne original. As soon as I sprayed it (just one little half spray) I realised this is my perfume of dreams. It has everything a perfume collector could wish for. Even its deep golden colour, resembling the hard work of 100 honey bees, Its bottle (champagne cork metal cage design), even its beautiful golden box with deep Cardinal red lining. Simpy heaven. The scent is deep, syrupy - think of peaches in a pan, pounded down, mixed with exotic spices & honey, a splash of rosewater and glugs of veuve-clicquot grand dame.. Then simmered on an open flame of amber coals. Im not kidding you. Its so delicious it hurts. Its projection is massive, longevity almost makes one second think bedtime bath, as I find I am literally washing it off.. its that long lasting. oh Champagne - why did this love story end?

This perfume is completely off the charts, one of a kind unique & awesome. I wore this back in 1993 or 1994 (I may have already reviewed it here?) but tonight, it smells legendary. I scored a bottle off of an auction site and it showed up in a manila bubble padded parcel today. I was almost shaking when I opened it! This perfume holds scent memories for me. It reminds me of my infant daughter (who is now 21), bad days of a marriage that was mended and healed (we have now celebrated 23 years and were not sure we would make it beyond 4 years) and celebrations, birthday's, romantic date nights and special occasions (because that is all I could afford to wear it for, so saved every drop)back in the 1990's along with long black commercially crocheted sweater vests, Ricky Lake hosting talk television, thick black chunky loafers for women and premiere episodes of "Friend's". I am thankful to have "a nose" that leads me by the hand back in time, and more importantly, thankful that I am alive and can do that! "Champagne" or whatever it is called now will always be magical. My son, who is now 15.5 swears he can remember this scent from his infancy! Okay, so, remember the scene in Labyrinth when Hoggle gives Sarah the Peach of Questionable Intentions? And the peach sends her off to iridescent-splendid masqueradeville wherein she is suddenly wearing that MAGNIFICENT frothy dress and dances with David freaking Bowie? As the world falls down? This is without a doubt the perfume equivalent of that. The more I discover her work, the more Sophia Grojsman is becoming my favorite nose. The bottle I am wearing is a vintage "Champagne" I scored off of EBay for a song. Champagne/Yvresse is a fantasy juicy peach eaten with uninhibited relish on a bed of soft faerie-moss, deep and earthy and rich. It effervesces like Jareth's magical crystal-bubbles and caresses you with gossamer nectarine, magical patchouli, and the barest whisper of rose syrup, but there are so many gorgeous notes in this flickering in and out my untrained nose can barely distinguish them. It's Sarah in that magical ballroom, overwhelmed and shy, but intrigued in the face of so many mysterious and fanciful guests dancing in and out of her reeling line of sight, before locking eyes with the Goblin King, he of majestic peach and oakmoss and dry, fragrant spices who grounds the whole effervescent, festive composition. Totally glorious. Totally fabulous. Dance, magic, dance!

The best of Grosjman along with Magic by Cèline. Why should we shy away from chypres? They’re storms I understand but in snapshots, they provide glimpses of beauty. Much like how photographs of a tornado ravaging a town would inspire such awe. To much refinement, this one is how best champagne should be translated into scent. A little bit fruity, sparkly and dry at the same time. A great palate cleanser. It opens with nectarines and lychee though juicy and syrupy, they’re abated by a desiccated feel. The moss and greenery provide such wonder that it keeps the fruits from being an edible accord. And the caraway, that fennel-ish touch which is used in most orientals uplift the woods and fruits. Splendidly done. It’s dry like the 70s chypres and I remember those perfumes provide no consolation for women in their astringent and humid accords. But don’t get me wrong, those were magnificent structures. This one on the other hand shows a facet where playful accords can be elevated to emulate the wondrous chypres of yore. Same as with my other reviews, I think the La Collection iteration is faithful to the original composition. Only, seamlessness deducted. Get it :)

Champagne YSL is Dante's Divine Comedy in perfumery, it's a fucking hell of peaches and violets that create, for me, the most beautiful fruity chypre ever. Champagne, and I am not saying Yvresse, that is to say, the oldest of all, whose name was removed... that bottle is the supreme potion. If you have the opportunity to find the first one and the violet is to your taste, you will be able to enjoy the opulent and divine sweet smell of Sophia Grosjman too much. Personally I am able to enjoy all of them, I enjoy the new Yvresse with a cubed bottle, but its half life and end life are flatter and less dimensional. I also enjoy the discontinued Yvresse, the one in the Fragantica photo, but it's a bit cooler than Champagne. Champagne is dark, sensual, juicy fruit, night black violets. Its sweetness is as beautiful as the heat of hell and using it lifts you up to heaven, Dante going up to heaven and trying to redeem his sins was wearing Champagne. I only use it once a year and that day it envelops my body, my soul and heart with a scent that can only come from the best fragrances that were created in the 90s, divine times...

This is and always has been a beauty. I bought my bottle as a reward for leaving my job and moving onto something more rewarding and challenging back in 2022. I remember it from the 90s though I could only dream of affording it and it was so popular. Too mature for me then it’s perfect now. I have the 50ml edt with barrel and wire. Gold box and Champagne label. Mine is rich and deep with touches of the fizzy opening still there. Sadly that beautiful opening flattens with age. But she is a beauty. I could never wear fruits or floral heavy scents when I was younger. They were just either bombastic or rancid on my skin. With age has come the benefit of now being able to wear them. And she’s a beauty. I’m wearing her in summer and she shines year round to me. Warmth kicking up a tropical aspect. Multi-layered fruits with some balmy and spicy aspects. She’s golden, mellow with a honeyed sweetness and a touch of citric bite to temper and balance the sweetness. A powdered musky feel slowly rises and merges with the fruits and a touch of wood. Just lovely and very wearable.

Out of all my perfumes, this is probably the one that I have gotten the most compliments on - If you are looking for something new and love grand dame type perfumes, this could be for you. This is a beautiful, feminine perfume. So nice. I fall back in love with this every time I wear it. I have been wearing this scent for years and I love it. I wear the dupe oil from Hayward and it is very long lasting and lovely. It does get compliments and I like it on me, too. It seems to me that this fragrance is not well known. But it's so lovely that it really does deserve some attention. It is a very unique fragrance, hard to describe but once you have worn it, you never forget it. To me, this is a mature scent. There is something very unique about this. Some people have described this as sweet but I do not get a sweet smell on my skin. Three of my friends loved this so much on me that they wear it, too. It just never gets old to me.

When this came out we lived in Montana. I had to BEG my mom to drive me to a mall that carried it that was two and a half hours away, and since it was icy and November the drive time was plus two more hours. She took me. I got my bottle of CHAMPAGNE with my fifty some dollars that took me weeks to save up. It was everything I dreamed of and more. The perfume was like a Brut Champagne. It is not overly sweet or "sugary" like a $5.00 bottle of pink stuff. This absolutely had an effervescent smell...how that is possible is Magical to me, but it did/does. The longer this stayed on my skin the warmer it became. I wore this for years and am so sad I did not save my original bottle with the word Champagne on it. :( It became my signature of the 90's for awhile and I want to revisit it again. From the notes what I detect is stone fruit, violets, rose and definitely oakmoss. These notes do NOT represent what this scent is, except maybe the oakmoss (which is the most dominant note to me). The notes are indeed what is listed, but its so meticulously blended that the notes are not important. My friend gave me her almost empty bottle of this, several months ago so I could use it as a reference point. There was around 2mL of it, and now there's around 0.5. I only wish I could've purchased this when it was available because it is stunning. This is a sparkly and beautifully constructed fragrance. While the new version is definitely different, it stayed reasonably true to its roots. Less mossy and less interesting but the fizzy opening remains the same. The stone fruits appear later on for me, not so much as top notes. It progresses like drinking a glass of champagne does. Just stunning.

I got a small vintage bottle of the original Champagne version. I was afraid it might have turned. But spraying it today for the first time for myself as a lock down treat it is in perfect condition. As soon as I sprayed it I realized that my mother used to wear this when I was a child. It was her going out scent - reserved for special occasions. Smelling it actually made me cry. It's beautiful and revokes so many memories. The right woman could easily wear this on the right occasion. It has a vintage feel but it smells elegant, regal, alluring, sophisticated. It's dry but creamy and sparkly at the same time. The peach is wonderful - soft, grown-up, not cloying or stuffy. I don't think I will be able to wear it in public, because of the emotions attached to it, but I will cherish my small bottle and spray it - just for me - whenever I need to feel my mothers presence.

I love this scent. Just love it. Of course I love to drink champagne also, so makes sense. Ms. Sophia Grojsman is truly a Gennie in a bottle, as she can create so many different, and truly unique scents. Champagne reminds me a little bit of Guerlain ́s Nahema, with the peach, rose accord. I also get a black currant note in the opening. To me, this scent is one of the few which borders the vintage and the modern eras of perfumes as it has the richness of vintage but also light touches of fruit, with florals all the way along, and spicies and ozone too, so all in all, this is some combo. Sweet, yes as SG does not play around with milktoast blends..., but other tones tame down the sugar and pump out fruity and spicey tones all at the same time. Very very unique. Cannot smell cheap, no matter how hard it would try.

Thanks to a generous friend at work, who gave me a bag full of vintage perfums, I am now a lucky owner of a 100 ml of the original Champagne Eau de toilette. Upon the first spray, on my skin, this juice surrounded me in a not too sweet peach melba fruit cocktail cloud, and a bit of anisy touch for balance - a sparkle of happiness! A while later I sense a faint lychee-coconut-vanilla, siding with the peach and apricot, along with wonderful and quiet notes of powdery iris and a subtle carnation scent. Oakmoss glides in smoothly with patchouly and with woodsy notes at the end, it stays like this for around 8 hours. Throughout I can sense peach, but toned down at the end. This on my skin was a magic, fun and longlasting experience. This is truly a fruity, fizzy, and totally unique 70ies powerbomb!

Oh my! I'm going to have to eat my words (see my earlier review re: Yvresse). Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to sample this fragrance on a card at the chemist - just to reaffirm my previous view of this scent. I was SO WRONG. I first smelled this perfume about 20 years ago when it was called "Champagne". I couldn't stand it. It was so overwhelming dry and headache inducing, I thought - NEVER ever will I wear this hidious scent! Well, yesterday I fell in love with it. It smells different than 20 years ago. It's sweeter and the rose scent is far more prevalent. I'm convinced the formula is different - for the better!! I'm going to buy myself a bottle. I can't believe my 180 on this one! Perhaps it's because I'm older and have a more mature take on this fragrance. I'm so glad I tried it again.

I have both La Collection Yvresse and Champagne YSL (I think from 1994) and while they are in fact similar, both being sparkling and fruity, Champagne is, to me, the work of art. It's a warmer fragrance, resinous, woody but, above all, fruity. When you compare both, Yvresse is greener, cooler and sharper, Champagne is cozy, sensuous and comfortable. It's a dense juice, honey-like; sun in the bottle. Fortunately, it's still possible to find vintage bottles of Champagne, although the prices are not low. Still, I believe it's worth having Champagne in your collection. It has a very good longevity, 12 hours after 1-2 sprays it will still send you wafts of beautiful scent. Season-wise, I would say it can be worn all year long, although I have not yet tested it under high temperatures.

A sparkling late harvesst muscat dessert wine layered with seductive musk, sweet but dry fruit and vintage face powder and lipstick. The anise and mint do come through in this one too and the nectarine gives it a tart crispness. It does have a touch of the Original Valentino in here. This is a weird one but it is incredibly beautiful and I just adore it on others but on me it becomes an overwhelming wave of super tartness and headachey sweetness with a strange minty menthol note which just wont die down until hours later - I end up having to wait a whole day of feeling uncomfortable wearing this for the last hour or so of soft muskiness right before it disappears. Smells nice on my clothes but not on my skin. Lovely but just not 'my' perfume.

I can't believe on how much i love this , i was sent a sample by plumblosom . (thank you!!!!) I usually have a love/hate relationships with chyprés , and this one is definitely a love one ! Iamo , it makes my think a lot of Voulpté ( Oscar de la Renta) and in some way Sun Moon Stars ( Lagerfeld) , and guess what , it's the same nose , the great Sophia Grojsman ! But it's even better than Voulpté, ( which i really like ; ) Yvresse is more complex, last longer , less green and sweeter, fruitier . Yvresse makes me think of anything but party , champagne ... To me it's much more a solar, warm, loving , reassuring , confident making perfume . Like a mom ( yet mine has never worn it , but had had Volupté however). Bravo !

I'm wearing this today, on this lovely Thanksgiving, because it reminds me of hot apple cider. Lots of fruit and cinnamon! My boyfriend said I smelled like something cooking in the kitchen. No sarcasm, it is my one of my life goals to smell like tasty food :) Lasting power on this is pretty good, around 5 or 6 hours, and it's very potent at first - as it dries down it has less sillage, but I get compliments throughout the day so I'm sure it lasts. One of my top 3 perfumes, so glad I randomly found it here on fragrantica! EDIT- I am wearing the Champagne version. I will soon be buying a backup bottle of Yvresse because they are less expensive and I heard they smell identical, so will update when I get there!

Personally, I think this is Grojsman's best work. Beautitul beautiful champagne ..I can't get enough of it and I don't even drink! It's undoubtedly a powerhouse. If you like your perfume loud, this is it. Rich, juicy, spicy, sparkling and mouthwatering. Its one of those perfumes I use in December for dinner parties, night outs and whats not. And I over spray too cause you know everyone over sprays during this season, there's no way I'm gonna be outdone! lol It's one of my all time party scents. I can see why the scent can be too much for some people. It's certainly not your every day, easy to wear sort of scent so be warned. It almost screams "Here come the party". I love it! Not safe to blind buy.

Oh how I've fallen in love with Fragrantica! I just remembered on of my first "grown up" perfumes. I got it as a gift from my mother one Christmas. Oh, how I loved spraying this on, it being still called Champagne. I think it set the tone for the rest of my life expectations, at the moment more on a beer budget than Champagne however haha. Being no more than 16 I think at that time it was EXTREMELY heavy and I had to use a light hand with it as not to upset anyone in class or the teachers. I just remember how fuzzy and happy and sweet it made me feel every time I smelled it. I wonder would it still smell the same and invoke the same feelings? Curious now.... one for the wish list.

My mom had got me this for my birthday back in 1993 when it 1st came out yrs and yrs ago and omg I was beyond dissapointed when I could no longer find Champagne...I seriously loved this perfume ( I still have my original bottle that is more than 1/2 full lol) but when I found out it was renamed I was soooo beyond happy!! Definitely a fall/winter scent...this one will always be a favorite of mine!!!! *I even have 2 lil tiny mini bottles in the the original Champagne of this I'm still clinging to as well...surprisingly both minature bottles and my original bottle still smell amazingly good after all these years!!!!!<3 *I never tried the it when it was renamed Yvresse.

I discovered Yvresse a few years ago and wear it nearly every day for months. It has a warm, peachy, floral scent that cheers me up. It's really a beauty. I love chypres and anything Guerlain, but Yvress is addictive. I used to wear vintage Rochas Femme because of that apricot in it. But it's gotten so expensive. So, Yvress fills in. It has held up well for a vintage. I also have recently discovered other YSL perfumes (Paris and Y) that are surprisingly well made. We all know and love Opium, so to realize that YSL made some other unique and beautiful fragrances was a pleasant surprise. I also find no difference between the vintage Champagne and the Yvress.

Ladies - what have we been missing? Deception in the form of sickly-sweet, over-laundered scents that smell like rainbows marketers like to disguise as "perfumes." All the while, we drink the champagne until we realize that it's as cheep as a poor-man's beer (or poor woman's). Yvresse is like capturing a little bit of the golden ray shining down from the heavens. This little golden masterpiece will go on my top shelf list, along with Cuir de Russie. This fragrance is beautiful, timeless, spicy, sweet, mysterious, and unique. What have I been missing? It's Yvresse in my collection! It's so beautiful, I almost want to tear. Xoxo

Yvresse is a cheery, celebrating perfume. A perfume fit for the holidays, or any day that wants celebration. It's rich and deep and happy, but decidedly elegant as well. A sparkling opening of peaches and nectarines. The likeness to champagne or sparkling Moscato wine (which tastes of ripe summerfruits) is uncanny. When drying down, Yvresse envelops the wearer in a warm embrace. Caraway and oakmoss, rose and cinnamon and benzoin. Oh yes, there's a good bit of Rochas Femme in here, but where Femme is layed over a dark and sultry base of leather and rosewood, Yvresse is drizzled with golden honey and peach syrup. Sublime.

This is the happiest, brightest fragrance I own. I don't usually go for fruity scents, but this one is like a freshly made fruit drink, juicy and happy and with white wine for refreshment. Effervescent, bubbly, sunny. I smell this and it makes me smile. It does evolve and show more complex facets, chypre that it is. But always bright and happy and juicy and like a sunny spring afternoon. --- I own a bottle decanted from a tester when a local perfume store closed. --- Update: It lasts really long. Always fruity and juicy, and not in a sickly sweet way. Oddly, it reminds me of a deeply fragrant pear. I enjoy it a lot.

i also have the yvresse from la collection, but after trying the original one today, that remake is quite a disappointment. it's very bold, the nectarine/peach speaks loudly for itself/themselves. nothing beats the real champagne. yes, it speaks too, but quitely and sophisticatedly. it's like there's no need to yell to let people to take notice of you (if you know what i mean lol) but instead, it's otherwise, and naturally. the drydown is pleasant and i can feel the little bubbles sizzling on my tongue everytime i take a sniff. oh my goodness, 'girls just wanna have fun' is playing inside my head now...

Its lovely. Perhaps Grojsman’s best. I would not call this a chypre, its too round and fruity for that. Its more like a glass of champagne with juice of a sweet, ripe, delicious peach - a peach kir royale. Very nice, happy, juicy, peachy, round celebration to surround yourself with. I can see why it reaches such prices from fans online desperate to find more. There is some note here that I don’t recognise but absolutely love. When I wear this I always keep smelling that particular facet and take great delight in it. Not sure what creates this but I love it. They should bring this one back.

One of my all time favorites, i am lucky enough that i do have a bottle with the old name on it (champagne) This perfume is very storng and with a very good sealge and it last on clothes till the next wash! and it does take you in a trip with each and every note there, so you will get the woody, spicey and after that you will get the powedery, fruity hints i can't stop sniffing my wrist because the smell dose change! :D and for sure, i don't use it a lot, as i have a rare bottle and i save it for the important ocasions, i'd say perfect for winter nights

I have a very vintage bottle of the pure perfume from when it was still called Champagne and it's incredible. It's bright and bubbly and makes you feel wonderful but having said that it's also very sensual, I think a lot of perfumes of that time were. It's a warm and intoxicating perfume and I always get many compliments when wearing it although I save it for special occasions. A small dab on wrists lasts all night and is still present the following morning. For anyone not sure I would say buy it, you won't be disappointed.

I still have the same bottle of this I bought when it first came out and was called Champagne! You only need a couple of drops on pulse points and it lasts for hours-when the lawsuits were filed regarding the name, I stopped using it everyday so I could keep hold of it for as long as possible. I always referred to it as the lycee perfume,because to me it smells of sparkling fizzy juicy exotic fruits. I'm going to go and check it now and make sure it's still ok,because I forgot I still had it until joining this site !

@Phantomias, I love it too. I don't care for the Yresse too much, way too defanged from what the original was. I have a little bit of Champagne left over from the 90s and I guard it with my life. Nothing like it. The fruit combination is so delicious and yummy, so in love with Champagne. Truly great and one of my favourites, always. I was disappointed when it had to be reformulated over the name Champagne as that is a French trademark. Going for insane prices on eBay but you MUST get the original. You won't be sorry.

The best perfume ever made, it is a bubbly happy potion to wear in days you feel (or want to feel) fabulous! It is celebration in a bottle! Chic and feminine! Peach and a just opened bottle of champagne in a fresh green patchouly happy evening! I first smelled Champagne in the mid 90's when I was too teen to wear it. One of my best friends' mom wore it and the traces in the air brought joy to joyous days! Now that I have the confidence and taste for vintage and well composed fragrances, I can finally pull it off.

(Feb 2022) I discovered this fragrance when I bought a box of used perfumes at an auction last year. I immediately sought out more Yvresse, and am very pleased with this fragrance. It's an optimistic light fruity floral with smiles for miles, not too sweet and definitely not brash. I'm usually a spicy oriental woody gal, so this surprised me with its friendly innocent late-spring-day vibe. Worth a try, not heavy nor cloying, and can be worn year-round. Moderate to low sillage, so good for office/close quarters.

Lucky I've got this miniature classic Yvresse fragrance as mum's small gifts, despite being discontinued and reformulated as La Collection. I'll leave it as a display. It's such an awesome, best, classic and cosy fruitchouli scent. However, up to 2 sprays as this original fragrance is a sharp fruitchouli and spice bomb. Actually, I don't know what La Collection Yvresse smells like, so don't be afraid to give it a try and hope it will be less heavy. It is great for Autumn/Winter, day and evening wear.

I've both Yvresse and Champagne parfum, and Champagne is the better scent by far IMHO. Thick and sweet like warm champagne, with a strong but fleeting canned litchi note, C. has modest sillage and decent lasting power. Some reviewers have labeled C. a fruitchouli instead of chypre. The thought of YSL offering a fruitchouli is a little offputting, since I associate poor quality celeb frags with fruitchoulis. But now matter what the label, Champagne is beautiful and I don't want to be without it.

Having now tested the original Yvresse (EDT) and the new collection version my thoughts are the following: The 'collection' version is more brash and crude. I prefer the subtlety, femininity and delicatesse of the original. You definitely pick up the missing notes in the original too which makes it an altogether more creamy, soft and sensual fragrance. I find the collection version slightly disappointing. One has all the class of Monica Bellucci and the other is Megan Fox.

The most beautiful perfect perfume that did ever exist. Lychee, nectarines, all sorts of delicious woods and vanilla and delight jostling for position. It’s hard to describe how dazzling this is. The blend is perfection. The fizzy champagne feeling at the beginning. All softening into a warm fruity delicious sexy embrace. I have never found a fragrance I love more than this but because I love perfume, I will always keep trying. And being disappointed...

Yvresse, in this bottle (as above pic) is just the same as the original Champagne! The fragrance I wore on my wedding day in 1995 and still beautiful. I was distraught when I sniffed the new YSL La Collection Yvresse in the ugly little square bottle. Like someone said previously, it's just loud and offensive bearing little or no resemblance to this creation. It barks straight out of the bottle ... almost bit me, but I managed to get away :o)

It is peachy Grojsman-sweet alright, but sparklingly so and it is just THE perfect fruity chypre for late spring and early summer. Fizzy florals never smelled better. Violets also play a substantial part in this juice and you smell them clearly all the way down to the mossy base. Champagne is a must for lovers of contemporary vintages. Have smelled the newer Yvresse versions too, but they do not have the creaminess of the original.

To me YSL Champagne is most beautiful peach, nectarine, apricot shot covered with powder veil. Very soft and feminine. Years ago I tested Champagne and Mitsouko at same time and found out that these two classics intertwined creates a consciousness-exploding combination. I'm not too fond of layering, but in this combination Champagne supports Mitsu's swaying fruitiness and Mitsu gives Champagne depth. A match made in heaven❤️

This was one of my favorite perfumes ever! I used to spray it a couple of times before I go out and my roommates always commented on how the smell would linger in the corridor. I could smell it on my coat 2 weeks after I had sprayed it. It was very fruity but very dense. It was sooo good and I got so many compliments wearing it. I have the new reformulated bottle, I can see the resemblance but definitely NOT the same.

I’ve been looking for an authentic, vintage bottle for ages! I’ve had two samples that are just gorgeous but a few years ago won a bottle “online “ but it’s nothing like my samples; totally soapy and just awful. Its unwearable, at least on me :( Can anyone tell me how to know which bottles are truly the original vintage? I only need a small bottle if those are out there. Thank you!

I have had both, Champagne and Yvresse, they are the same, only the name has changed. I pray to God YSL NEVER changes this formula. I’m not a sweet, floral, fruity fragrance lover at all, and this isn’t like that. At the same time it will still appeal to those who do like that. Yes, it’s a rich, beautiful, magical, chypre masterpiece. I never want to be without it.
