This is Him! Vibes of Freedom

I didn't pay attention on this one, because of the bad reviews here on Fragrantica. Then I saw Aaron Terence Hughes reaction really positive on the Frag-Mental YouTube channel. So I went to the store to test it. Wow. This is some fabolous stuff. I really don't know what is wrong with people noses sometimes. This is fresh and has a deep undertone. This is great for springtime. My girl and her bestie really loved it also. And there aren't much fragrances out of my big collection that they love. So this is a great release. I really have to learn that I have to smell fragrances myself instead of believing them blind on Fragrantica. Everybody go test this one :D

This smelled familiar to me but I couldn't quite place the smell, because it was a mixture of fragrances I love. Then it hit me,, this is 50% Kenzo Homme Intense Edt (blue bamboo bottle) and 50% Dolce&Gabbana The One Royal Night to my nose. I get a creamy wood smell and some fig although it's not listed, and then I get the same cardamom and cedar smell one gets from D&G The One Royal Night. I'm not yet sure if I want a bottle, but I kept smelling my arm through the day after testing and it was quite good. Then again, it's ZnV, not everyone is going to smell like this and it's not too expensive.

This is not as bad as the reviews suggest, made by a master perfumer, beautiful Smokey cedar and lavender in the opening, and I get whiffs of orange and patchouli in the dry down.Got a 3 oz bottle for 50$ Which was very well worth it. I love zadig frags!

I sprayed this on & thought... Damn! Nice sandal wood! Then saw the notes not list it.... Then I saw the comments & realised that I'm not going insane haha

Lovely opening. Love the vibe of this. Springtime galore. Fresh youthful blended in a slightly novel way. Not sure this will perform, will update...

The initial blast is nothing to scream about, its good in a spring/ summer light creamy woods. The dry down is magnificent and lasts decades

I am just so into everything Nathalie Lorson creates. Her nose is amazing and I will gladly blind buy anything from her.

Inoffensive, clean, slightly skanky woodshavings, and just about a lick of lavender. It's a very broadly enjoyable scent, while still maintaining its own kind of DNA and Style. Really reminds me of the opening burst in Issey Miyake's Fusion, minus the coconut and figs. This one however dries down to a much more woodsy finish, think really wet wood shavings. Or, as some people have mentioned, it does have that skanky hamster cage wood shavings smell. But does that make it a bad scent? No, quite the opposite. It's a very enjoyable quality that this scent has. If you want something that's on the weirder side of today's blues, then go and give this a try. Especially if you like the more woody type smells. The main drawbacks are the longevity, scent development (It is somewhat linear), and the fact that it's not the most creative scent out there. But it gets the job done. But I'd still prefer this to 90% of the other 'blue' frags out there.

This is lovely, quite different from the OG and the Love flanker I already have, if you smell it without knowing it's a This is him flanker you'd have a hard time guessing it. There is a good dose of lavender in the opening, I don't like the note but it's well blended and you can also smell the cardamom which gives a slight spicy effect, then there is also a strong note of orange, it's not an uplifting or summery orange but creamy and slightly sweet. The drydown is more close to the OG This is him, I can recognise the sandalwood-incense accord mixed with the lavender and orange from the opening. I agree with bluelux, this one is quite close to Givenchy Gentleman EDT intense, it's less sweet and powdery to my nose but it has definitely some elements from it. So far, and I have to try it more, the performance is average but this is my favorite This is him flanker, a great casual 4 seasons scent.

Smooth.. When I see the notes listed above, I can pick them out, but it kind of smells like a sandalwood fragrance with a hint of mint or menthol. In a way, it reminds me of Givenchy's Gentlemen EDT Intense. (Doesn’t smell the same but puts me in a similar state.) I really like it, but not as much as the original. This one is a bit better suited for wearing outside of the winter season, but I still wouldn’t wear it in high heat. Projection is on the weak side for me, which makes it a good choice for the workplace. Longevity is average.

Citrus over creamy woods. Some lavender soap at the start but I don't get much cardemom nor the incense note of the original. The wood (I agree, smells like sandal to me) is the only thing with staying power. An office safe spring sent which is... Fine? Not a lot of character but nothing to dislike either. Z&V usually get discounted a lot so I'd wait a bit until you can get it cheap. 6.5/10. Leans a bit masculine but not much. Medium everything is how I'd sum it up.

Far from bad, actually quite enjoyable. It smells like you have walked into a Hollister store, a very clean and pleasant smell. Not particularly masculine, but just enough of everything to create a modern aroma and a manly freshness around a man. Smells nothing like This is him or This is love, it's completely different. Definitely for spring & summer.

I like it. Can be a signature scent. Masculine scent. I get mainly incense and patchouli. It is fresh, but at the same time has richness and depth. You can basically wear it all year round and day or night.

Lovely initial presentation. richness with contrast of green freshness. Might feel a bit soapy for some.

Pleasant summer fragrance, office safe, with weak performance... too weak, clean morning shower feeling. At least the citrus doesn't end smelling like BO, as most of the freshies do with my skin. Only tested with hot and hummid weather, don't know how it will do in colder seasons... but there is no reason for any hype. In Spain it can be already found with heavy discounts.

To me a pretty generic fresh male fragrance. I don't get any patchouli at all, it has a very slightly spicy lavendar smell on my skin. Reminds me of something from the 90s but I can't put my finger on what. Would be fine as an after shower fresh scent, or for a summer's day in the office but absolutely nothing special for me.

Blind bought this on sale (Valentine's day promotion), regret it already. The cardemom is quite prominent, and it reminds me a lot of Givenchy Gentleman EDT Intense, but the GG is a lot better. Nathalie Lorson is the perfumer for both... The original This is Him! is the best one, and this is nothing like that.

I'm so disappointed in this one. It doesn't seem to smell anything like it does on others on me! Very run of the mill masculine aftershave scent for the most part. The spicy notes are defintiely there at first but for some reason they just do not last on me. I smell them on a paper strip, I smell them on myself for the first 20-30 minutes, but after that it just dries down to a very soapy aftershave smell on me with very little spice. For some reason, I actually get a lot of sweet notes that smell somewhat between vanilla and sandalwood on my skin! I really wanted to love this because the sillage is great and I usually love orange with spicy notes but the spice is so fleeting that it's not even worth it- Not even the orange note lasts on me. It just pulls so soapy in all the wrong ways on me.

This is unquestionably a sandalwood fragrance... don’t look at the notes, trust your nose. I love it. It opens fresh, and then a creamy sandalwood, just like Tam Dao, takes over. Moderate, I would say perfect, projection and great longevity. I could smell the sandalwood on my clothes the next day. Smells a bit like Santal Blush from Tom Ford (which also has a fresher Tam Dao vibe).

The opening feels liberating, it comes with a rush of cool freshness - minty, with a soft citrus glimmer at the edges. The freshness does not rely on citrus. Instead, it's carried by lavender and mint, even if mint doesn't officially appear in the notes. Lavender smooths everything out and keeps the opening cohesive and fluid. It settles into creamy woods, but still they don't dominate. The composition does not read as overtly woody, the wood works more as a foundation than a featured note. It gives structure and depth without pulling the fragrance down too much. The drydown moves away from the sporty freshness into herbal freshness with a subtle warmth underneath. Projection stays intimate, but the scent lingers on skin with decent persistence. It does carry a feeling of freedom: clean air, movement, and direction. Fresh at first encounter, grounded at its core.

I like this it's clean creamy and the sandalwood is very smooth.. I prefer the origional but gjis is a bit lighter, don't get much citrus tbh. Easy reach though nice for the gym and office. Picked up bottle for 25 pounds good value

Smells like Axe body spray, sorry, not sorry. You can easily skip this one, this sore attempt at a blue fragrance. There are so many better choices.

Do you in your country have the drink, Bitter Lemon? This reminds me of that. It's a pretty nice blue fragrance

Tried this today on paper strip and it surprised me positively!

Lavender and patch. Reminds me of Issey Miyake Fusion a bit.
