2nd Soul

I tried this from the sample vial and immediately wished I bought this one as well! Wow wow wow. Upon application the freshness from the juniper and the zing from bergamot and spices come through very strong. For a moment during the opening I was worried this would be too masculine for me, but once it starts to dry down it smoothes out and it's a true unisex fragrance from there on out. I can't pick out any particular florals because it is blended to perfection, but there is definitely something floral that passes through, but that note doesn't stick around for long. I can definitely pick out the myrrh and tobacco in the mid. On the dry down the patchouli comes though and it's a beautiful beast. Mugler angel status, but not as cloyingly sweet. It's toned down by the smoky incense and the woody notes peeking through and that smooth and sexy labdanum. This is so so good and will definitely get you noticed! All 3 of the zed creators fragrances bring you on an adventure, there is nothing linear or boring about any of them. These are so incredible and I recommend getting your nose on them if you can.

Zaharoff 2nd Soul is one of the latest trio of Zed creators releases, and the second release from Justin Copeland of Stay Fresh Productions, and a successor for Brass and Soul. 2nd Soul shares Brass and Soul’s rich juniper center but with a darkened, more intense vibe. While still being somewhat fresh, it’s spicy and woody, mostly, blending juniper with geranium, spices (nutmeg, cardamom, clary sage), florals, woods, resins, and a general smokiness and booziness. It feels perfect for a night out and blends the concept of something versatile and signature scent worthy with a fragrance that nonetheless has the “date night” special type of feel to it. It’s definitely a bit denser and stronger, at least on my skin, than Brass and Soul, but very much comparable to most of the Zed creators entries, overall. As with the other new Zed creators releases, 2nd Soul is priced very reasonably, at $160 for 120ml, really exceptional in the current market and somehow a significant improvement on the initial trio of Zed creators releases ($160 for 60ml). 8 out of 10

After 1 wearing, this comes off as a dark/rich/nighttime barbershop scent. There’s a lot going on so it will take several wearings to unwrap this complex fragrance. No doubt that it’s high quality juice, and the best of the 3 IMO Edit: Okay it’s been a few weeks now and either my nose is adjusting to this scent, or the juice is macerating. Either way this fragrance gets more lovely with each wearing! 2nd soul has a lot of contrasts. It has remnants of a vintage fragrance yet stays modern. It has a bright soapy vibe yet also is dark and rich. It’s like getting a crispy trim at the barbershop and then heading across the street to an old pub with an inviting aura of alcohol and tobacco once you open the thick wooden door. It goes through several changes but the one thing that remains throughout is the fresh barbershop cream layered over a tobacco leaf that’s been dipped in rum. Very yummy indeed!

Managed to get ahold of one of the last remaining bottles, and Im glad I did. This is a beautiful fragrance. Opens with a bright, almost green citrus that is instantly enveloped with the spice notes of cardamom and nutmeg with a gorgeous rum twist. Everything works harmoniously. It settles into a nice warm and resinous sweetness with the citrus brightness lingering to add balance. It reminds me ever so faintly in the beginning of Spicebomb Night Vision EDP, only in the way that the green citrus tone and cardamom combine. This is of course a far superior and smoother fragrance, but it did give me a faint memento to it. I think this is a very versatile masculine fragrance. Classic, yet modern. All season fragrance to me. I might dial back in summer time, but will still use. Justin and Zaharoff - you did your thing. I applaud you and am glad to have gotten a hold of the last run of bottles.

Finally got my hands on this discontinued beauty for a steal imo! Its the familiarity of a classic fougere; but with this cooling shaving cream accord and aromatic fresh spices composed in modern fashion. Beautiful florals intertwining the entire composition with the warm spicy type of woody and smokey nuances. Also with that I get hints of booze and something minty sweet throughout probably from the cardamom. In the drydown thats where I see the Danae comparisons, kind of blonde woodsy. This is a masterpiece for my taste. I could wear this for any occasion but I wouldn't just because I want to monitor those sprays lol. It has pretty good projection and longevity. I've had decants of this to get plenty wearing experience. If I'm being honest, something this good should've been more widely available from the house. Edit: This made me get rid of my bottle of Danae...

Just got a bottle and I'm really happy I did. For anyone who follows Justin's channel, you get where this fragrance is coming from immediately. Like a great musician's inspirations are masterfully nodded to in their playing, you can smell Gentle Fluidity Silver, Pasha De Cartier Parfum, Tabac 28, the nod to the 80's that Beau De Jour is, and so much more... Don't get me wrong - 2nd Soul doesn't actually smell like any one of them, but take in a whiff and you'll see - they're all in there. Must commend Justin, Vincent Kuczinski and George Zaharoff for making this and putting it out there. And for the price of 120USD for 120ml that I got it at - it's a gem. 9/10

This is one of those fragrances that has so many notes to where it's easy for people to try to simplify it into saying it simply smells like an expensive old man's cologne, or smells like baby powder or whatever. I personally agree that yes it is a mature type of man's style fragrance, but updated for the times we live in. It's got the barbershop style going on, and is richened with extra notes like rum, frankincense, etc. I really love it because it smells natural, had more of an ethereal vibe probably due to hedione, and is very comforting and classy. The projection is fine. I got a 4 ounce bottle so I use about 10 sprays per application anyway.

Similar to Brass & Soul, but warmer and a little more serious. It's basically a date night flanker for it. To me, it has a very similar idea as PdM Layton even though they're different scents and notes, but I prefer this sooo much better. I don't actually notice much sillage unfortunately but it's not terrible. I prefer B&S more because it's brighter and more youthful but this is good for mixing B&S during the day and then this one for the night. Vibes: gentlemanly, classy, fun Visual: a nice, chill night out Versatility: night or cooler weather

Received a sample of this with my Zaharoff order. Off the bat, 2nd Soul smells incredible yet very familiar. I couldn’t pinpoint it until I came here and saw “it smells like” Prada Amber Pour Homme. And YES!! Very very similar but 2nd Soul has more sweetness and less soapiness. As it dried down, I got a lot of similarities to Paco Rabon 1 Mil Lucky with that airy fruity sweetness. Smells incredible. Like a gentleman, who likes to have fun. Might even buy a bottle for my future boyfriend. Edit: I bought a bottle! Cherishing this one :)

This has the sweetness and spice that opens somewhere between Parfum de Marlys Layton and Herod, but the spicy sweetness is carried in on a fresh breeze which with a blue fragrance vibe. Parfums De Chanel??? As 2nd Soul dries down the woods come out a bit, but bits of sweetness and freshness continue pop and dance on my skin. The major downside is people will people will probably think you're a deranged madman for sniffing your arms and clothing constantly. Yeah f*** their opinions!

Zesty opening with plenty of juniper has a more modern fougere feeling. Very fresh and clean (think hot towel on your face,) projects well for a couple hours before marching toward a drydown that is anything but fougere. Dries rich and creamy with a mellow sweetness that is delectable. Smooth like truffles. Unfortunately it doesn't project much at this point, but it's a top 5 scent bubble that lasts 12 hours on skin. Definitely bottle worthy

This is fresh and sensual AF. I liked Brass and Soul, and this takes everything I loved about that scent and puts the baby making music on. This is jazz. After quite a few wears I have to say this holds up well. This is everything Brass and Soul should have been. This is a safe non linear fragrance that stays fresh, but takes you on a journey. It's a crowd pleaser, but it's not boring. This is an all purpose banger of a frag.

I LOVE this. This is my favorite of the three collaborations. It's spicy and boozy in the opening. Then it transitions to a sweet cocktail type of note that's almost cherry-like, but also metallic. In the end, it's a little woody but in a seductive way. The way the fragrance transitions is fantastic and it performs very well. I love this, but I'm not sure if I see myself wearing this, but I am definitely considering.

No.2 by Frank Los Angeles Very very similar vibe to 2nd Soul. Yes it does have similarities to things like Azzaro PH Intense, JV Vintage, etc. But I find many more similarities to No. 2 FLA. Really enjoy both of them... Not too redundant that owning both is an issue. Modern Ambery fougere type scents.. But fresher and not as heavy as fragrances like Pasha de Cartier Parfum, APHI, etc..

This is WOW! Big time WOW! Every time I spray it on I love it even more. It’s bright, fresh, boozy and spicy. The rich, resinous Myrrh, tobacco, suede and patchouli give the fragrance a bold, elegant, beautiful backbone. It’s as “dense” an aromatic amber fragrance as I’ve ever encountered. Just lovely!! Big big love for this one already. Incredibly well done.

Another Master piece by the House of Zaharoff. Beautiful from the beginning to the end!! This one is incredible!! All the notes come together from the beginning to the end. And what a beast of performance!! George, you have brought another beautiful fragrance to the world. Thank you. You are a great person and we are thankful for you.

I'm thoroughly impressed. I have a bottle of the Brass and Soul, which got stronger overtime, but it still was slightly old school for my tastes. This one is more modern tones down the soap aspect of the original. And adds a more night evening luxurious feel. It doesn't smell like like Layton but has a similar quality. I enjoy both

Wearing this in Mexico Summer. 3 sprays. It works. When smelled blind, it has similar vibe as Drakkar. If Drakkar was the teenager, this is him grown up earning 6 figures. Smoother, niche, a little smokier, but still has a freshness. Above average performance.

This one is super versatile- fresh enough to wear in most seasons (extreme heat is probably not a good idea), yet sweet, warm and somewhat dark. It smells like a beefed up, more refined version of JV vintage with better longevity and a smoky leather nuance.

This one has surprised me... I knew it would be pretty good, but it's great.. A perfect fragrance day: Spray on Brass and Soul in the morning.. When evening comes around, spray on 2nd Soul.. Perfect day/night combo... Well done Justin...

Not a fan of the opening. However, as this starts to develop, after the 15min mark, you really can smell the niche quality. The geranium, moss and clary sage give it a sophisticated fougere feel. Good Job.

This is simply one of the best in my collection. I think it is very masculine fougere but it has a lot going on. It is definitely a conversation starter in a good way.

An old-style, masculine, extremely strong aromatic fragrance. One of those fragrances that pick up on 90s vibes, that smell almost like aftershave, and that evokes beautiful memories in me. For me, 2nd soul is the perfume of father, whom I used to run to embrace and whose perfume I still remember. In my opinion, appropriate for a somewhat more mature public, but absolutely irresistible and with a very high performance.

Highly wearable without being overly boring. It contains shades of the 80-90s male perfumery while modernising it through some smoke and spices. This is probably the one that most people would enjoy and find interesting on first sniff. To people who are collectors/enthusiasts it won't reallyt be more than a well done take on the modern aromatic genre.

This is really nice. On the initial spray it smell like it would be a basic fougere but then the tobacco starts to come in along with some leather. There's also a sweetness in there that give me a vanilla vibe. The fragrance actually reminds me of noir ambre by issey miyake

Mix YSL Bleu Electrique & Azzaro Pour Homme Intense and you have 2nd Soul. Smells fantastic!

Not my Favorite first spray smells like Soda and Soap moves quickly to Mont Blonc Individual or Creed Org-Santal without the Raspberry. takes some time but dry down smells like a sweet FunFair from Maison Martin Margiela, honestly reminds me of being at a Fair or Carnival, and some how like Brass Metal oddly enough.. any who like said not my Favorite but can change as I try wearing it more. The second run of fragrances in the Zed creator series was not as impressive as the first trio. This takes Brass and Soul in a more universal direction. It's a decent fragrance, I wouldn't use the word masterpiece to describe this, but if you read the previous reviews, that word is used by a few different people. The larger bottle size that was used for this series was a great change. If you enjoy cardamom you will really like this.

I really wanted to like this. It has all of my favorite notes and I’ve only ever heard good things about it. Unfortunately on me all I get is a bit of musk, and baby powder. This smells like an expensive old man’s cologne and just was not what I was expecting or going for. I think I may let mine sit and try again in the future, but for now this is simply a meh. Zaharoff has much better options.

This smells wonderful. Today I smelled Memo African Leather for the first time after being on my “wish list” for a long time. Immediately African Leather reminded me of this. Only about 75-80% but it was immediate in the opening. Less in the drydown. Great scent.

The best of the 3 new releases but still nothing breathtaking. Fougere scent with a twist I would call it. Performance also around average. 6-7 hours with good projection for an hour then very moderate.

a nice warm rosy, grassy, mens fougere i detect the juniper, tonka, peppery cinnamon spice and woods late dry down is faintly sharp and a bit metallic but still a great scent

Just sprayed some on and immediately smelled old spice. Came here and it seems I’m not the only one.

As good as the last set was, I can’t wait to have these as well
