Evening Mystique

Zaharoff Evening Mystique is the second Zed creators’ release from Ross Carlos / TLTG Reviews, a beautiful woody, spicy, resinous, semi-sweet blend that feels very interesting but classy and agreeable from the get go, and overdue for a more thorough than my initial few takes. Each of the few occasions I’ve worn the fragrance, I get the same first impression that reminds me of Creed Spice and Wood but with a diversified, deepened, almost resinous/gourmand-leaning variance. The note of angelica root figures prominently in the opening spiciness, giving way to juniper, with the dominant resinous woody blend of frankincense, myrrh, cedar, and vetiver comprising much of the experience. Of the second round of Zed creators’ releases in late 2022, I find this to be the biggest departure from the creator’s first release (in this case, Business Over Pleasure) in 2021. Its projection is not very loud so it feels like a medium-bodied “signature scent that also feels special for the evening” and value is really phenomenal, at $160 for 120ml, under $1.5/ml, much more affordable than the still-very-affordable $119 for 60ml in the initial 2021 trio of Zed creators’ releases. Overall, this is outstanding and I can see why so many seem to be buying not only one, but multiple 120ml bottles. This feels like it can be sprayed liberally and often, even on a summer evening, and while the Spice and Wood comparison does make it seem comforting, familiar, and easygoing to me, personally, the end result still feels quite unique and up to the already very high standard of the entire house. 8 out of 10

Female here. I have a sample of Evening Mystique and here are my thoughts. Classy yet unique. Mature, sophisticated, yet humble. I get a lot of corrdiander, iris/carrot, incense, vetiver. It’s aromatic, woody, and powdery. Not a loud projector, actually wants to sit closer to the skin but has great longevity. Which works perfectly with the scent profile. Leans quite masculine. I see this for a mature man 35+. I imagine a gentleman in a suit, sitting at a high-end bar with a whiskey. Quiet confidence. Comforting. I would like to get close to this interesting man. Don’t blind buy this - you should definitely get a sample! You HAVE to have the personality to wear this or else it doesn’t fit. Really well crafted and unique fragrance. Never smelled anything like it. Don’t mind the negative reviews below.

More and more lovely with time! Nevermind the negativity below. This is gorgeous! And more so with every passing day. We’re coming up on 2 years and this is blooming into an absolute beauty! It kills me to see people writing pissed off reviews of something they don’t even have the patience to appreciate. MY patience sure has paid off because this is truly gorgeous in the air right now! The main accords and the notes pyramid truly tell the story to my nose. Musky, ambery, aromatic, balsamic, powdery iris, blooming rose and cool, sweet juniper berries with rich ethereal incense, myrrh resin, warm spices, earth and woods! It’s a limited edition because it’s a work of art. Time continues to verify that for me, and my nose greatly appreciates it!

I am testing this out from a sample vial, not spray so I do feel that the experience is not the same, but I had to leave a review because this is fantastic. Off the top it was very aromatic, and green, just a touch spicy. I was able to start picking out notes as it began to dry down. The carrot seed is incredible and adds an earthy quality that gives this texture. The rose that is in here is soapy, but it's not loud, just noticable enough to add a clean brightness that was needed to balance out the incense. When it dries down it's resinous and musky and downright intoxicating with the patchouli. I think it's unisex leaning slightly masculine, but a woman could absolutely pull this off

This has grown on me. At first i didn't like it because Im not a fan of iris (theres some peeking through), but there's so much more going on here that agrees with me! 2nd Soul is definitely more mass appealing, but if you like aromatic woody incense frags with a touch of green then spend some time with this. Sits a little close to the skin but its not weak. I'm not expecting compliments, but doesn't matter since I think its beautiful now. The comparisons to Encre Noire baffle me. This doesn't smell anything like the inky vetiver that Lalique made.

This is possibly one of my new favorite scents. It is deep resinous and long lasting. 8- 10 hours on skin. This easily wears well casually but wears so much better dressed up. This has great depth and is unique. I have nothing in my 300 plus collection that smells remotely close to this. It is an instant masterpiece!

One of the best offerings from Zaharoff which sadly is now discontinued due to it being a limited released. The people on here hating on it simply do not like Ross Carlos(TLTG) due to the fact that he is successful with his reviews. Haters will always hate even if it was the best fragrance.

This is a high quality oriental resinous explosion. Mouth watering.. Complimented so well with the perfect doses of coriander, juniper, rose and Iris. This thing is nuclear in performance. Resin lovers dream! Oriental vibes for sure and a very serious fragrance. Use with caution! 10/10

I love this SCENT. It's dark and rich. Resinous and Powdery. Lasts 10 hours on my skin. Presentation is 100%. A Very Unique Masterpiece

This is quite nice. I wasn't sure about it at first, but this is one of the nicest most buttery iris notes I've ever experienced. I'm not a big iris guy, but somehow this does it in a way I can get behind. Carrot seed note is reminiscent of Meander by Amouage. they aren't the same, but the note sent my mind there. Edit: wanted to come back and mention the nice myrrh note that blends with the buttery iris. Edit: I keep coming back to it. I like it, but it is VERY subdued. It sticks close. This is indeed mysterious. I keep wishing for something more. It feels unfinished and yet I keep getting drawn back. It sort of gives me the same feeling as Dia man by Amouage in its subtlety. Not similar scent profiles at all, but the way they stick close in a subtle way is very similar. I've definitely noticed the coriander more with each wear.

Evening Mystique is an evening, at the weekend, where we forget all the worries of life. A throwing of the jacket on the sofa and going out, alone, without thoughts. Isn't there something wonderfully mystique about wanting to transport oneself into another world? Living the night, drinking a cocktail while looking at the atmosphere around us, finally relaxing. A strong, spicy, aromatic fragrance, lightly calming with the velvety, powdery notes of a wonderful blend of rose and iris, within a cloud of absolutely non-liturgical incense. Fresh, energizing, like a new beginning, different from the others, I absolutely recommend you try it. 'The Mysteries of the Horizon' painted by Magritte.

There's something about this that feels so "old timey". By no means is that a bad thing. It's as if you mixed a fougère with a medicinal/powder bomb. It reminds me very much of the original Zoologist Dodo. If you want a fragrance that when worn feels like your transported the the 1930s, then go for this. Great stuff!!! I can imagine a grand explorer wearing garments and skin protectants that would have smelled like this. I love it.

Evening Mystique is a fantastic scent that's very unique. It's definitely something for date night as it does not go too far off the skin, but it lasts a very long time. This comes across as seductive and attractive, on skin, and quite mysterious. I like this a lot. In terms of how it smells, it's a tiny bit boozy and a tiny bit powdery, but just barely.

Probably the most unique Zaharoff Zed Creator fragrance. At first I thought it just was not sure what it wanted to be. You can smell quality ingredients, a lot of them vying for dominance throughout the journey of the fragrance. The trick is to spray this away (sides of neck/ behind/ back of head). If you spray this on your arm to keep sniffing I don't think you will appreciate it for what it is. It's strong, and the theme is mysterious, and it lives up to this. Another "Journey" fragrance. It's rich, if you spend time with it, you will start to unravel some of the mystery. Hard to find, but a general 120mls means you probo only ever need 1 bottle of this for life. If you want to stand out, this on a cold winters evening, especially at a social event, will do the trick. Think winter wonderland, octoberfest, or even just a large gathering of people. It's a "What is that...", makes people notice. Comparisons are a bit pointless for this, it vies in a direction of the east, but remains western with the Iris. It's dark, and floral, and slightly smokey. Still guessing? You'll only know by finding a bottle on ebay to unlock the mystery.

What we have here is powdery carrot extract, a touch of vetiver, and an assemblage of spices, resins, herbs and sea notes in the undertone. Interesting and original, and certainly an acquired taste. Overall well made, but just doesnt smell that good. Not great. Not an easy wear by any means.

As another reviewer put it, "stinky" at first then herbal/floral with myrrh.

this stuff stinks, I have Encre Noire A L'Extreme and they're nothing alike to my nose, that is clean earthy, this just lacks identity, I like a good challenge when it comes to fragrance, but this just doesn't work, moral of the story, don't buy fragrance from a car salesman

Myrrh, frankincense and stinky wood...opening is a bit citrusy and green. But this stuff stinks pretty bad, really hate this and it doesn't smell anything like encre noire or dior homme intense. Really it's more of a frankincense and myrhh fragrance but instead of being sweet it's more green slightly fougere style

One of the only fragrences I had to resale. I guess I tried to hard to like it and was biased by the fact I spent money on it. I got the opinions of my coworkers and....they weren’t a fan. Wife gave it a 2/10. Sample first..

This fragrance is nauseating. TLTG, little Carlito, is the main shill for this subpar fragrance brand.

I blind bought this after watching a review comparing this to the smell of a magician. The packaging was definitely a draw card, & the hype from several other YouTube reviewers convinced me to take that leap of faith. Whilst it certainly smells unique, quite unlike anything else I currently own, & doesn't remind me of any other fragrance I've smelt before, I'm not sure if I'm getting all the complexity from the notes that others seem to be raving on about. It lasts a good 8+ hours but the most of it is just a skin scent, which to be fair has its time & place for wearing. I probably won't be wearing this on stage or when performing, but perhaps in a close up parlour style cosy setting. So, does it smell like a magician to me? Well, kind of I suppose. If it's the smell of an old vintage trunk, perhaps some red velvet heavy curtains, or maybe just the inside of an old dusty cardboard box. The smell of mystery of a book that's been tucked away in a far corner of a library shelf, even the mould in the pages have dried out. If that's the kind of scent of mystique, then I guess it does capture it quite nicely. This is a classy kind of old smell, like a deserted mansion, with a study that has one of those ladders so you can reach the upper shelves, perhaps one of the books opens a secret tunnel to a basement lair. This doesn't project, but is pleasant. Understated goth. I imagine this is what Dorian Gray might smell like, or at least the smell of his portrait. Edit: 6 months later, I have surprisingly found myself reaching for this bottle significantly more than I initially thought I would've. It actually fits the situations where I might consider wearing Encre Noire A L'Extreme, though they are different, they kind of fulfil a similar space. The original EN is the sharpest, the L'Extreme is woodier, & this Evening Mystique is dustier, smokier. Still probably not worth the hefty price tag though...

My decant of this came in yesterday. My thoughts on this one seem to go against most of the previous reviewers opinions, but anyway... I must say this one is rather underwhelming, I was expecting something bold, resinous, mysterious, and unfortunately I just don't get that. The presentation and marketing are top-notch, (this was the draw for me intitially), but the actual fragrance itself is just quite boring, it's dull, it certainly does not live up to the name. The performance is also not great for a darker type of fragrance, with the ingredients that are listed I expected better. This type of fragrance, like most of the Nishane range, really irks me. They expect you to pay niche prices, but offer mediocrity in return, Evening Mystique is one of those fragrances that needs a really good kick up the a*se, if it had more going for it, or a bit of oomph, it would be ok. But alas, no, it just sits on the skin being all boring and mediocre. It puts me in mind of a recent Amouage release which was also a little dull and pedestrian, either Boundless or Meander, I forget which one. Perhaps mix one of those with Dior Homme Intense, and you get this. There is nothing inherently "wrong" with Evening Mystique, but it just seems rather flat. The marketing makes you believe it to be full of promise, unfortunately the promise is never fulfilled, You are simply left with something bland which you almost cannot smell after a couple of hours, the performance and projection being rather weak. I almost blind bought this because I was a little dazzled by the presentation, the notes list also sounded good, I am so happy that I didn't take that risk. Shame, I really did want to like this one, and I would have loved the aesthetic of this bottle sitting in my small collection.

So I'm about halfway through this and I love it here's my experience. It opens up and you get a good yoke of coriander. I also smell what I think is carrot seed. At the same, though, I smell iris and rose and I DO smell juniper berries. It's like a drink thing. It's like I'm a guy whose consumed with image and it's late and I'm just really relaxing after doing some really boss things with people who have money in their checking accounts. I feel ultra modern when I wear this, like it's time for me to be a merchant and chase the bag and remix the rules AND go my OWN WAY. And it also smells like incense and myhrr (they're different). This is what I would call a classic chypre. It's very light and very dark. I feel very rich when I wear this but also mysterious. Like if Donald Trump read Rene Guenon. I also smell ambergris and it smells fucking good. ATH would love this. I would love to use more of this cologne. It lasts like 8 hours, that's good for the quality. Shout out to the Ross haters. That guy's really nice, I love YouTube videos and, additionally, that guy jizz.

So many grown men in here hating on a male is wild. Few people called the brand of zaharoff subpar smdh. Don’t listen to any negative comments on this fragrance. They are all haters whose page isn’t as successful as TLTG is and they are mad. This is a beautiful fragrance and one of the best from the brand. I really wish we could interact more on here so I could respond directly to these bums. If you have a chance to grab this at a decent price GET IT. Don’t let the opinion of little men sway you.

Love this scent! Powerful chypre that punches above its price range. If you put this in a purple cap roja bottle and asked 1100 for it people would scoop it up. Very elegant and upscale fragrance. The incense, cypress and patchouli are done so well, and the ambergris makes brings it into the modern age.

Smells like the mood of a good Thanksgiving Day to me. This will sound weird but it smells like leaving from your spouses family's house and heading your your family's side at the time that the sun is setting on Thanksgiving Day. Evening Mystique really fits as a name for this fragrance profile.

This fragrance reminds me of Moose hunting in Maine and the fresh smell of Moose musk hovering over my hunting ground. Then it transitions into the smell of some fresh Starbucks coffee after a hot,steamy shower. Sample first,pimpin’.

This is getting better with age. Its smokey, resinous, sweet, and powdery. Startiing to think people will regret sleeping on this down the road.

I smell black licorice. Anyone else? Not a bad thing, just wondering what it may be.
