Signature Noir

This is my second wearing of Zaharoff Signature Noir, one of the two recently-released flankers (along with Signature Royale) to the original Signature from 2018. Noir feels much more like a natural variation of the original than Royale does, but Noir certainly deviates in interesting ways, and I love both aspects of it. To the original’s sweet-and-spicy, semi-fresh, modern take on the fougere concept, Noir is denser, dryer, and ever so slightly less sweet. Anchored by a similar group of spices (pepper, ginger) but darkened by anise and a heavier use of oud (to my nose) and sharpened by tonka and resins (fir balsam, frankincense), Noir ends up having vaguely dry leather quality that is not part of the original. The original Signature is very versatile in terms of situation and season, both a nod to classics while having a very modern, somewhat unisex sensibility, but Noir specifically feels like more of a modern nighttime / cold weather-friendly variation, albeit still walking the unisex/masculine tightrope. Overall, Noir is a welcome variation, clearly related to the original but very much with its own character, different utility, but still very impressive. I’ll be happy to have a bottle Like Signature Royale, Signature Noir is priced at $105 for 60ml, very reasonable for an independent offering, just a touch higher than the original at $95 for 60ml or $155 for 120ml. It is sold individually, or part of other package deals, exclusively via the Zaharoff website in the US, to my knowledge. 8 out of 10

Been wearing this one for a while now, and it’s grown into a favorite. Imagine the original’s well-mannered, introspective vibe—but now he’s out after dark, wearing a sleek black jacket and probably has a mysterious side hustle. Opens with a sharp, almost metallic lavender that cuts through the air like it means business. Not your cozy barbershop type—this one has an edge. The synthetic oud shows up early, and while I usually side-eye synthetic ouds, this one plays its part well. It’s clean, modern, and adds just enough darkness without turning the whole thing into a smoky mess. Compared to the OG, this flanker is more assertive, a little moodier, and honestly, more fun when the sun goes down. The drydown is smooth woods with a hint of creaminess, but it never loses that sharp backbone. Performance is solid—around 6 hours with a nice little scent bubble for the first few. It won’t blast across the room, but it’ll turn heads if they get close enough. If the original is the thoughtful gentleman sipping tea, this one’s got the same brain—but he’s ordering bourbon neat.

I have had this for a couple of weeks now and is easily my favourate of the 3 in the Zaharoff Signature line. It is closer to the original Signature Pour Homme than Royale. Noir is Parfum strength (22%) and Royale an Eau de Parfum, but Royale is definitely a stronger performer on my skin. Noir has a more classic masculine character that I personally like in a fragrance but it is also modern smelling if that might be a concern to some younger guys. The quality of the ingredients is quite evident. I have had the original Signature Pour Homme for about 5 months now and the fragrance has definitely developed over time (it got better) and it should be the same with this awesome creation. I think that this is a very versatile fragrance, wearable in all seasons, both night and day & both smart and casual. I have a strong feeling that this is a strong contender to become my new signature scent.

This is a Spectacular Fougere with a rich scent. When I spray it on, I'm instantly greeted with the "Pour Homme" DNA, with a woodsy fresh twist. Unfortunately for me, I'm one of those unlucky bastards that smell it for 5-10 minutes tops, and then go Completely noseblind/anosmic. I can't smell it even if I spray it up my nose. Signature Noir is the only Zaharoff I have experience this with, and I've tried all of them, except the Z-Creator's. I Adore the fragrance. But I have no idea what the mid or dry down smells like. I can't pick it up even when I reapply. So I can't really give a real score. But for what little I do get, I'd guess it would be in the 8-9/10 range.

I received a free sample by requesting it from the Zaharoff website. Right away I knew that this company is special. The sample was packaged beautifully and included a hand signed thank you note from the owner. The personal touch and care was also evident in the fragrance itself. It had a very clean and sophisticated open and dry-down . I believe this is how the personal soap or shampoo of a royal family would smell. This may be one of the most versatile perfumes I have tested. It could be worn by anyone, anywhere , anytime. It would be safe for a blind buy.

Amazing fragrance! I have Signature, Noir and Royale. This scents are legit and George Zaharoff is an amazingly friendly business man. The fragrances are so smooth and well refined. They’re made by and for a gentlemen. I get great longevity out of all of them, however projection is a little on the moderate side, but still very well noticeable. On clothes the performance is slightly a little bit better. My favorite out of all still is the original that one was love at first sniff! If you’re considering this brand I highly recommend.

On my skin, this is a beautiful cedar fragrance. The sillage isn't all that great, but it's noticeable. That could actually be a good thing, as I don't really want to choke anyone out. The longevity seems to be really nice, as it's been 4 hours and the middle notes are still coming in loud and clear. The sample I had was a 1ml sample, but I'm sure if I oversprayed, it would be a lot stronger. This is actually perfect for me, though. I'm quite enjoying this one. I have a bottle on the way, as this one's a keeper for sure. 9/10

I was skeptical of this house at first because of dumb reviews. Once i picked up a bottle for myself and gave it a run - i realized how good this is. I've seen reviews/comments saying that it's blended soo smoothly that you can't tell transitions into different notes. I would have to agree, there appears to be no harsh distinct cutoffs when identifying different notes. Instant fan here. P.S. - What other brand has a personally hand signed thank you note from the owner - George Zaharoff.

Just when I thought I didn’t need another fougere! But this isn’t some typical fougere. It’s a bit dark and resinous, yet stays clean and fresh. It feels more modern than a typical fougere as well. Projection is very good for the first two hours. When it begins to fade, it fades pretty quickly, basically becoming a skin scent for the next four hours. Signature scent worthy! I’m just sad that I slept on this for so long.

In comparison to the original Signature Pour Homme, and Signature Royale this is one is the most woodsy. Very masculine, and elegant smelling. All three Signature fragrances do smell very similar to each other but to my nose they have just enough variation to wear them accordingly whenever I feel one is best suited over the other, or just depending on my mood. I'd recommend sampling all three of them before purchasing.

I received my bundle a few days ago. I love both of them. Noir is a little darker and more mysterious. It's an outstanding composition that's blended exquisitely and smells very sexy. It shines in cooler weather. Performance is outstanding. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 9/10 Price/Performance Ratio: 10/10

Oh my this is a Lovely scent. I never smelled the original or Royal. But this one is really really good! Smells inviting, warm, spicy, and Woody. This is a very pleasant scent. Now I'm wondering what the rest of Zaharoff smells like. Update.the date loves it on me

This is a beauty. Get your nose on it! It is similar to Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme but with less herbaceous notes. A beautiful fragrance that is masculine. Well done!

DArker? Interesting. I get a much more clean frwsh type vibe w a niche smell. Amazing amazing gray. Blind buy easily!!!!! I don’t see how anyone could dislike this

I juts got mine today. It’s exquisite. Has that zaharoff dna but w an amazing cleanliness. I can’t stop smelling it. Smells like a sexy super clean masculine scent

I like it! Soapy, resinous, woodsy. Very good. I'll get back after a couple of wearings. On a scale from 1 to 10 i'll give it a 9

Noir is lovely. The blend is smooth, and leaves one hard-pressed to pinpoint standout notes. A whisper of ginger, a tug from nondescript citrus, rounded by its parfum strength, a la the orange top of Terre d'Hermes edp. Noir leans in designer territory in a way the other two Zaharoff's don't. A similarity exists between this and Bleu de Chanel parfum, but lacks the sillage of BdC. Very light oud, don't expect more. Sandalwood lingers, but lighter in impression than in Royale. Quality abounds, but I wanted more push. A date, or office, casual to dressy--it is mass-appeal class and is worthy. Two points that will be debated: it is not as dark, "noir-ish" as many have stated. And I can see a woman pulling this off for sure.

‘Sometimes you meet such a gentleman that, if manners didn't exist, he would have invented them.’ Signature Noire in my opinion is that fragrance that should not be missing from a man's collection. A distinctive, elegant fragrance with vivacious and aromatic notes in the initial part, which then reveals aromatic and slightly camphorated nuances. It revisits in a modern key, adding a lot of personality, the men's fragrances of years gone by, making it surprisingly classy. In short, Signature Noire is the true Gentleman's fragrance, fit for any occasion and which will not be less than distinctive in its apparent simplicity. High performance, for all seasons.

First from this house. Initial thoughts.... well the oud is slightly medicinal, I get a mix of woods and citrus. It's a little similar to YSL M7 Fresh (which I own). The M7F is stronger in the citrus department. This is more woody. It is a try before you buy in my opinion. Overall it is a strong "like". Better for cool spring days and fall nights. Enjoy!

This has a lot of wood in it, which is promising because I love a woody scent. Initially it has a lot of that "Manly Marine/Aromatic" smell you can easily associate with a men's scent. After the first few seconds it reminds me a bit of a craft store, but a classy one - not Hobby Lobby or even Michael's - maybe one of those places where they sell overpriced shabby chic furniture, cow hides, decorative saddles, and $8,000 farmhouse tables. The drydown is woody, but in a subtle, understated way. It's not the wood of an imposing man's office, or the wood of a dark forest. It's again, the wood of said expensive furniture store. I love oud, but it's a minor player in this scent. This is very approachable if you want to dabble in a men's fragrance. Might be a good choice for a gym scent for a man or for one of those days when you just feel like showering with some Old Spice bodywash, throwing on your partner's T-shirt, and sitting outside with a gin and tonic or a mojito.

I was very impressed with Zaharoff's Halfeti Black Rose and had high hopes for other fragrances from this house. So far, it's been a let down. Signature Royale X and Signature Royale XXX are just OK but sit pretty close to the skin. Signature Noir is a nice enough masculine, woody scent with great longevity but way too subtle for me. About 45 minutes after application, I could hardly smell it. Basically a skin scent. (Royale X and Royale XXX have the same problem.) Longevity is quite good however. I'll pass.

Dont know who said it was like drakar!...way off...its nice and a good office scent- low projection and sillage..for a parfum but it smells ok. Not earth shattering or wow at all. Kind of smells like so many other tom ford type fragrances. too bad as i was hoping for a stunner . I will say i prefer this over the new ROYALE.

In the top, I get basil, coriander and a hint of sweetness remotely reminding me of Givenchy Xeryus and YSL Jazz, and that's a compliment! Unfortunately that's also where the compliments stop. In the heart, I get some sweet-ish florals. On the sample card, G. Zaharoff list "Freesia (USA)"... not sure what is the point of listing the origin of an aromachemical accord (other than misleading the customer in thinking that there is some freesia extract/absolute in it, while it doesn't exist. Since all the note have their origin listed in parenthesis on the card, that reasonably leads to the question: is there any real extract/absolute in this fragrance? The drydown looks like the usual harsh and synthetic amber crushed by a tonka thing. Too bad, I could tell that the myrrh ntte seemed decent - something possible, since myrrh absolute is cheap. Only in the late drydown will the tonka tone down, and let the myrrh express itself with some javanol support (synthetic sandalwood). Anyways, I can tell that there are good intentions in this fragrance, but like the original Signature, it had potential but misses the mark in the drydown (typical of mainstream designer fragrances). Since I consider that a 100ml bottle of YSL L'Homme or D&G The One shouldn't be priced more than $30/50, and some testers of Beaufort, Orto Parisi, Nasomatto, and DS&Durga - to cite a few - retail (at discounters) in the same price range than this one, I cannot recommend it unless you find it for ~$50 for a 60ml bottle (I'm being generous). Really a shame, because the top was promising, the heart was ok, but after ~30min, it becomes really a basic harsh designer fragrance (no surprise afterall since Zaharoff, even if a small one, it's still a designer house). Hard pass for me. Spring nights, fall days, 15-35 PS: I wanted to love it, given the care put by GZ to send handsigned sample cards, but that's a miss for me. Still, thank you George for the effort, and the free sample!

To be honest, I’m not exactly sure why I bought this. Generally speaking, I live a lifestyle best suited for daytime, versatile fragrances. So call it excitement for a new flanker to a fragrance I love. Having given it a couple of wears, however, I’m happy to have it. Of the three fragrances now in the Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme line, Noir is the darkest yet also the sweetest to my nose. The woody DNA present in the original as well as Royale is carried over here, but there’s also the new facet of Tonka Bean, which adds the sweetness without sacrificing the fragrance’s mystifying qualities. Like the original, Noir is resinous and balsamic. While all three in the line share the same footprint, Noir amplifies these two qualities with the most prominent oud. Projection remains at a polite level, in sync with the other two. Longevity is also very good. Overall, I’d call Noir a very distinguished, very refined gentlemanly scent, and that really needs to be stressed. This is not a scent to wear to get a lot of attention, but more to compliment the man who needs no introduction. In some ways, perhaps appropriately, it reminds me of a fully masculine version of Chanel’s Coco Noir. Confident, but not loud. I’m thinking of it as a fragrance to wear when out with your wife, or maybe your mistress depending on your circumstances. I’ll add too that the bottle with the silver cap and purple juice is a showstopper. Every detail of this fragrance is a work of passion and love, and that is clearly evident.

Freakin' amazing stuff. Not the kind of juice you wear if you're into mass appealing boring things. This is a gentlemen's fragrance. Think nicely dressed even when dressing down. The kind of guy who likes to look good even when going out to run errands and looks top notch when going out for something serious. Great opening that gets a little sweet as it develops but never to the pint of getting cloying. From there it goes into the most wonderful warm resinous spicy scent that just feels perfect thanks to the cypress, balsam, and woods that just make this thing feel very luxurious. The myrrh will remind you of the original dior eau sauvage parfum from 2012 that was sadly discontinued (wtf dior!?). This is the perfect fragrance for this time of year and will be probably even better as the weather turns cooler. Might be a little pit overpowering in warm weather so you'll have to watch the trigger. I'm loving it. I never tried the original zaharoff but given the great reviews I decided to buy this blindly and no regrets. gentlemen, enjoy!

The name Noir suggests a heavier seductive scent for the night but my nose has trouble actually smelling this because it's so light and transparent. The only thing I smell is airy soap or detergent. I have to say with the signature line being all soapy, if Prada makes soap the right way, Zaharoff does soap the wrong way. Disappointing and forgettable to be honest.

I love this fragrance, however I seem to get moderate performance yet I still keep reaching for this. It is the dark cousin of Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme, both of them are fantastic. The original is still my favorite though. Back up bottle worthy for me. Just wish I could smell it after 2 hours. 8.5/10

Signature pour homme, signature royale and signature noir smell exactly the same. Buy one DO NOT BUY ALL THREE. too close to each other to warrant the extra 300 dollars

Excellent upscale masculine sophisticated fragrance has the DNA profile of the original but for me even better. 9/10.

TLTG sparked my interest into the Zaharoff line. Really looking frward to getting my nose on it.
