Signature Pour Homme

It's not every day that I can truly say that I've fallen head-over-heels in love with a fragrance, and this is one of those glorious days. Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme is a bold and gorgeous modern take on the classic gentleman's fragrance. It carries on the deep woodsy aromatic characteristics of classics like Drakkar Noir, Davidoff Zino, and YSL Jazz, but adds a delightful rose to the traditional recipe, which drives its heart with strength and seductive appeal from the initial spray all the way to skin scent, many hours later. This is a fragrance that screams class and confident sophistication. The person who wears it could be perhaps aloof, perhaps charming, with an attractive air of mystique. Whatever the wearer's nature, this is sure to spark the curiosity of those who happen upon its scent's trail. My first impression is that Signature Pour Homme is very much like a classic fougere/barbershop fragrance, very classy, extremely refined with excellent, transparent ingredients that are all masterfully blended by maestro Claude Dir, known for his collaborations with Beyonce, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian, Kenneth Cole, and Perry Ellis, whose perfuming skills sit right at home with the adept alchemical genius of virtuosos Francis Kurkdjian, Thierry Wasser, Tom Ford, and Jacques Polge, IMO. Signature Pour Homme is composed so well that each note and layer, can be easily recognized as the aroma's nuances and textures unfold. One can easily get the impression that a lot of dilligence and careful consideration went into the creation of this perfume. It opens beautifully with a sweet and warm spicy announcement of myrrh, incense, and jammy, exquisite rose, all wrapped in a pleasant lavender, and carried into the drydown several minutes later by a gradual revelation of subtle earthy cypress and the unobtrusive further warmth of sandalwood and amber. As the floral sweetness of the rose begins to subside, the vetiver makes its presence known with a beautiful shady, earthy sharpness. The drydown is spectacular as the rose lightens to a mild yet ever-present note, while the vetiver, sandalwood, and amber take the wheel for the remainder of this fragrant trip. Overall, I think the rose at the heart of Pour Homme is the key to the fresh and striking modernity of this gem, and when so deftly nestled amongst the luxurious interplay of the myrrh, exotic incense, mellow lavender, earthy, edgy cypress and vetiver, finally the soft and subtly encompassing sandalwood and amber, make for an absolute masterpiece of a perfume that should have an illustrious position among any gentleman's collection. Aroma: Superb! (This is now my favorite modern gentleman's fragrance on the market) Sillage: Moderate to strong (this is very present, but not loud; it leaves a moderate scent trail to my nose, about 4 to 6 feet behind the wearer) Projection: Moderate to strong (about 4 feet around the wearer...but I would advise to be careful with spraying more than three times, it can become a bit overwhelming at close range, and I don't think it would be very discrete to overspray this) Longevity: Excellent! (I got about 5 hours of good projection, and another 7 hours as a good skin scent. I could still smell traces of it on my skin at up to 16 hours) Price: Worth every single penny! The best place to purchase Pour Homme is directly through the Zaharoff website. I got the 50ml for around $100 with tax. The box shipped to me in four business days, and was very nicely presented with a copper-embossed box, and a letter of thanks, signed personally by George Zaharoff (a very nice touch!) I really can't give this beautiful creation enough compliments, you should try it ASAP!

Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme opens with a moderate projection of sweet resins, woody, and incense notes, the opening feels pleasant, elegant, mature, formal, and refined. The oud, cypress, and sandalwood blend well, they add different tones but they come up as aromatic woods, dry and sweet. The oud found in this fragrance is dark dry oud, not animalic or pungent. The myrrh is a prominent note, resinous, sweet, and aromatic; the pepper and lavender are just a touch. The incense is also a prominent note, it gives the fragrance a church-like accord although. As the fragrance commences to dry-down, a touch of green vetiver and patchouli enter the blend, noticeable but not above other notes. The fragrance is relatively linear, most of the notes come up as soon as the fragrance is applied. Once Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a sweet resinous, incense, and woody fragrance with spicy, green, and soft floral accords. The fragrance feels bold, churchy, classy, slightly dark, earthy, elegant, exotic, expensive, slightly floral, formal, high-quality, intense, masculine, mature, mysterious, nicely-blended, nocturnal, resinous, refined, rich, smoky, sophisticated, special, spiritual, sweet, unique, versatile, warm, woody and very pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020. WOW RATING: 10/10. This is an outstanding masculine fragrance; the combination of notes is impressive. DISLIKE RATING: 3/10. The oud, myrrh, and incense are intense. UNIQUENESS: 9/10. The notes and resulting scent are very unique. MASS APPEAL: 6/10. Oud, myrrh, and incense are not crowd-pleasing notes. PROJECTION: 5/10. Very good, about 5 feet around the wearer. SILLAGE: /10. Very good, about 5 feet behind the wearer. APPLICATION: 4 atomizations will suffice. LONGEVITY: 4/10. About 4 hours, with consistent projection. SEASONS: Winter, spring, fall, colder days, and climate-controlled environments. OCCASIONS: Formal events, office, business, casual, holidays, clubbing. This is an office-friendly fragrance. VERSATILITY: 8/10. Despite the incense and myrrh, this is a very versatile fragrance. GENDER: Masculine, the spices, woods, and incense/myrrh, give it is masculine character. AGES: 30 and above. RECOMMENDATION: Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme can be found for $130-$150, the quality and resulting blend of notes creates an outstanding, classy, elegant, and impressive fragrance ideal for mature men. This is a great buy. BLIND-BUY: Yes, but only if you are familiar with the incense and myrrh tones. SIMILAR: these are examples of fragrances in the same genre. Amouage Memoir Men EDP, is a dark fragrance, with outstanding performance; Chanel Les Exclusifs Sycomore EDP, this is a “church” type of fragrance of high quality and moderate performance; Frederic Malle Portrait of A Lady is a fragrance that includes incense but also lots of patchouli which gives it a strong old-school vibe; John Varvatos Dark Rebel Rider is a dark with incense, tobacco and leather notes, but moderate to low performance; Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade EDP is a fantastic dark, incense, masculine fragrance but with poor performance; Xerjoff More Than Words is an oud, sweetly fruity, floral, and ambergris fragrance. SUMMARY: A sweet resinous, incense, and woody fragrance with spicy, green, and soft floral accords. The fragrance feels bold, churchy, classy, slightly dark, earthy, elegant, exotic, expensive, slightly floral, formal, high-quality, intense, masculine, mature, mysterious, nicely-blended, nocturnal, resinous, refined, rich, smoky, sophisticated, special, spiritual, sweet, unique, versatile, warm, woody and very pleasant.

This is my signature scent, and one of my absolute favorite fragrances. This is the fragrance i'm most connected to in my unnecessarily large collection. Generally: Clean, woody, spicy, smokey, and balsamic. It opens with clean lavender, woods, spices, and a slightly fruity note. It opens up beautifully, and it always lowers my shoulders and calms me down. Oud, sandalwood, myrrh, frankincense, and a distant iris enters the scent not too long after the opening. A sandalwood that is present from the very opening is also becoming more prominent. There is a pine and/or fir note a bit into the mid, that gives me images of a fresh Christmas tree scent. As if a Christmas tree is in the corner of the room. Drying down it settles into a warm woods and incense scent, with a little ambery balsamic undertone. I wouldn't say it's sweet, but there is a sweetness to it even in the dry-down. Where: Anywhere, really. I wear it to bed, to work, going out, with family, and when i'm by myself. I find it's a perfectly versatile fragrance, and can be worn anywhere. When: All year, but best for autumn, winter, and spring. It can easily be worn in summer, but isn't a "summer fragrance" type of fragrance. Limit the sprays, and it's good, even in high heat. Who: I'd say it's for men over 25 years old. It's very masculine, and it's not a sugar bomb so i don't see a lot of teenagers wearing it, or a lot of women (although it's not unwearable for a woman). Score: 9.5/10. To me, this is the scent of the man i aspire to be. A clean proper gentleman. All grown up and confident. Serious, but with a playful side. And most of all, warm at heart, and with open arms. This to me is the fragrance i wear with family and my closest friends. It is the scent i want the people i love to remember me by. And that is a powerful emotional connection to a fragrance, in my opinion. The only thing keeping this from being the perfect 10/10 fragrance for me, is that in the very last hour or two, it can smell a little sour on me. This is an unfortunate skin chemistry problem i have with oud all oud, so i can't blame the fragrance. But that bumps my Personal score down to a 9.5/10.

World of Yesterday for the World of Tomorrow (Claude Dir, 2018) Bottle Design: George Zaharoff Scentrack: Part Time – Lies in the Eyes of Love Nowadays it is very hard to find a balanced simplicity. Everything is extreme, intense, on steroids and devoid of any sense. “The louder, the better” is the current motto. Then I sniffed Signature pour Homme, and instantly I was translocated in the past, probably something I smelt as a child during mid 80s in Europe. It was somehow a part of my already open olfactory map, yet somehow novel, and this is the best way to describe Zaharoff Signature pour Homme. Signature opens with lavender as a backbone of classic European perfumery, accompanied by gentle cardamom. There is a hefty dose of fruitiness, probably pear, which gives a contemporary touch to the composition. This phase strongly reminded of my favorite Frapin 1270. While 1270 is saturated with different fruits and firmly goes to gourmand territory, Signature pour Homme just shyly tiptoes and goes further to Oriental phase. Then the combination of pepper and pimento (reminiscent of another Frapin – Caravelle Epicee) gives an introduction to the oriental woods. These woods are ancient, dark, relaxing. A perfect juxtaposition to modern way of life. Cedar, and sandalwood are darkened with just a touch of liturgical oud and frankincense. Still, the composition is not dense and dark like usual niche releases. It is somehow airy, yet substantial. Old and somehow modern at the same time. This formula is like an olfactive onion with so many peels, waiting to be sensed. One cannot find here major note overdose. Everything is precisely balanced and tweaked to create a new entity. I believe I got the idea behind this creation – to create a true modern classic. Take the part of our perfumery heritage and paired it with modern tendencies. To unconsciously enjoy the achievements of generations before and boldly step forward. Thanks to the generosity of George Zaharoff, I had an opportunity to finally test Signature pour Homme. Sample Testing - can't accurately comment on performance/longevity - opinion is strictly about smell. Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme The small sample vial/dabber I got of this turned out to be such a tease. An effective one at that. If there is one word that I could use to describe how this fragrance hits me without being hyperbolic - it would be "satisfied". Yes, that's right. My nose was satisfied. Like having finished a full course meal with a glass of Pinot Noir. Nothing more, nothing less. A lot of scents on the market seek to focus on one aspect of the meal. Rare are the attempts to give the wearer as much as they possibly can. This scent does just that. The way it starts is not the way it finishes. It smells different from a distance than it does up close. It has classic elements and modern touches. It's both airy and multi-layered. Lavender. Some slight animalic touches. Woody. Resinous. And cypress/fir balsam (which I haven't seen talked about much below - my nose picks up a stage in this fragrance that reminds me of Bottega Veneta Pour Homme). And I can tell there's more my nose has to discover because in one day's wearing, I would get wafts of subtle fruitiness as well. To be frank, a full bottle purchase has been earned. When the day comes for me to downsize my collection, this scent can easily take the part of 3-4 of the scents I currently own. I've always been a fan of "all-around" scents. That is, scents that try to give you all that it possibly can within the confines set. Nowadays, releases seem stripped down in an attempt to save aspects for future "flanker" releases. I despise this. What happened to the idea of putting EVERYTHING you had into ONE fragrance release (within the theme set for it, of course). Forget saving shit for later - throw everything in but the kitchen sink NOW damn it! I know that Zaharoff released flankers but I won't NEED to try them because I can sense that they put in as much as they could into the original. 9/10 YT Channel - The Scentrovert

I blind bought a 120 ml bottle now exactly two months ago. I decided to wear it for a while and wait for the ingredients to settle and mature (macerate) in the bottle in order to give it a fair review. It is such a beautiful fragrance and it really lifts my mood every time I wear it. Personally I do not get a "barbershop" vibe that some people mention, it is much more complex than that, and it is definitely not too mature smelling either if some guys may be put off by this classification. I have always preferred classic masculine type of fragrances, even as a teenager, and to me ZSPH provides the perfect blend of mature and modern notes. I do not find this to be an overly masculine fragrance. Guys that prefer sweet notes will not be disappointed either as it has that as well (juicy pear etc.) without becoming heavy or cloying. To date I have worn this is in warm and cold temperatures and it is perfect in both. The price point is excellent and the quality of the ingredients is clearly noticeable from the first wear. Do yourself a favour and go check out the breakdown of the various notes, where they are sourced from etc., on the Zaharoff website. Longevity is really great even if it is not a loud fragrance. I do find that it has grown on me since I got it and is now definitely in my top 5 out of the almost 40 in my collection. It just oozes class! George Zaharoff is such an amazing human being and seeing the effort he puts into his fragrance creations, I furthermore, without hesitation, preordered the two flankers (Noir and Royale) which will now be released during September 2020. In the fragrance community and on the social media groups there is always talk about companies becoming complacent over time by tweaking products and skimping on the quality of ingredients used. George has given his personal guarantee (when asked) that it will not happen to his products as long as he lives. My rating is 9/5/10

Classical, aromatic gentlemanly barbershop goodness. This isn't a neo-barbershop in the style of Le Male or even Invasion Barbare, but rather it leans more towards the early 90s style of barbershop fragrances such as Jazz, Safari, Tsar and perhaps Pasha de Cartier. It also has a bit of a Eau Sauvage type of vibe in the dry down, which is also present in the fragrances previously mentioned. It's modernized in comparison, but in essence those are the closest comparisons that I get most out of this. It's fresh, it's lavender dominant. I don't get much in the way of oud, it's not animalic or dirty, but it does have that smoky designer oud note which is present mainly in the drydown. While not listed, I could have sworn that there was a pear note, which actually does remind me a bit of Ultra Male, but the fragrance overall is so drastically different that this would be misleading to say that the overall composition reminds me of that. Rather, there's a sweetness to it that bears a light resemblance to the aforementioned Jean Paul Gautier juice. When I wear this, it just makes me feel so sophisticated and gentlemanly. It's perfect for formal occasions, but it works perfectly well as a signature scent for a man 30+ who likes those old timey barbershop frags. It's basically a four season fragrance, but I personally think it's a bit too powdery for the summer for my liking, although on a cool summer night I could certainly see reaching for it. There's currently only one pricepoint in which it's offered, and I believe it's around $130 which is quite expensive. To be truthful, it's slightly overpriced but ultimately fair especially if you like the genre. I personally am happy with my purchase, but if you're not sure I would get the free sample first and then if you like it enough to spring for a bottle, go for it. Overall, I'd give this a 9/10

More i use it more i love it! Zaharoff signature homme is a smooth, elegant fragrance with a relaxing, calming touch. When i first sprayed my brand new bottle i detected a sort of a metallic note not well blended with the rest of the notes; but after few weeks that metallic taste is less and less prominent and everything is ok now. The protagonist here is the lavender: there are many things in the juice, musk, cypress, vetiver, myrrh, very soft incense and oud...but the lavender is the striker of the team. so what we have is a modernized gentleman's scent with an 80's-90's eco. Z.s.h. is not totally linear, it became warmer and comforting during the run. So, it's a mix of beau de jour(or zino if you prefer), duc de vervin(or drakkar noir) and sauvage elixir(the best of sauvage line). I have to say that The zaharoff one is definitely smoother than the fragrances i mentioned before. sadly the performance is not good as expected: the projection is good in the first hour then became quickly a skin scent, the longevity on my skin is 6 hours more or less. So nothing crazy about it. So if you like gentleman's fragrances you will like it. Very versatile, good for every situation, better in the mid seasons. Today is my second wearing of Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme from George Zaharoff, the 2018 release that has become very popular in the fragrance community. I only tried it for the first time five days ago, long overdue, and it made quite the impression, as well. It certainly lives up its name immediately as it has the smell of a men’s signature scent, very modern with some more classic touches as well. It’s woody, spicy, musky, and, to make especially modern, sweet. Of the notes, the standouts to me are the lavender, pepper, cardamom, ginger, resins (myrrh, frankincense, amber, and woods (cypress, balsam fir, cedar, sandalwood). The mix of notes is a testament to how well blended it is, and it’s effectively (albeit not overly) sweet without the use of vanilla or other dessert-like elements (save pear), relying instead of the resins to bring out the controlled sweet vibe in contrast to some of the sharper elements of lavender, pepper, and cardamom. There’s oud in the background somewhere too, but admittedly it’s subtle, though I do get vague, slight animalic twinges in the background, very much in the background behind the woods, resins, and spices. Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme achieves a balance between being a bit familiar (I likened it to the muskiness of Escada Magnetism a bit during my first wearing, and now it feels like there’s a champagne cologne-ness in the background as well, along the lines of Acqua di Parma Colonia) but at the same time it feels modern, new, and a wee bit idiosyncratic, having its own character. Zaharoff’s pricing is very reasonable for the versatility and elegance of the fragrance, $155/95 for 120/60ml, at EDP concentration. It also performs quite well. I think a bottle is in my future. 8 out of 10

I took a risk with this one. Not a fragrance you’d find in most department stores, so I blind-bought it. I will never blind-buy again...I don’t think I could be so lucky a second time. This is an absolute cracker of a fragrance. It is truly truly beautiful. The initial spritz reveals a volatile ester (propyl propanoate?) but you have to be quick, a fleeting whiff of pear and it’s gone. The floral bouquet opens up with lavender, but stick your nose closer to the skin and inhale deeply and slowly...an indolic note, possibly jasmine, puts in an appearance. I tried inhaling at different distances from the skin to see what other heterocyclic organic compounds I could identify and at one point I did detect sweet oud (but only once), then it was almost as if someone had just walked into the room wearing Givenchy Gentleman then walked out again leaving a sillage of cardamom, iris, patchouli, cedar, cinnamon and vanilla accords in his wake. The dry down is long with a soft powdery base, clean soapy sandalwood reminiscent of a good quality shaving cream, but there again comes the lavender “refrain”! It is almost like listening to a soothing symphony, where each instrument gets to air its voice, nothing dominating but holistically well-balanced. As you cannot memorise a symphony on the first hearing, it becomes more enjoyable the more you listen to it.... I fully expect to discover new nuances to this complex fragrance every time I wear it. This has been the find of the year for me, and although I would never recommend blind-buying, this has been totally worth it. A masterpiece.

For once, the hype is deserved. Zaharoff Signature is a great modern fougere fragrance with some interesting and unexpected twists. The opening is marked by cardamom and, or course, lavender. There are also aromatic notes including cinnamon and cypress at this starting point. But then, there emerges a modern note: pear. Juicy and slightly sweet, this pear note marks a very 2020s element in what could have been merely a dated barbershop scent. This is the first of many elevating twists in this skillful composition. As the top notes fade, the mid emerges with a skillfully blended balsamic, spicy symphony of notes. Individual notes are hard to discern in this tight blend, but one note that does come through is a clean oud accord that once again elevates this fragrance above the barbershop. This scent is the stuff of trendy salons, at least. Base notes feature incense, some ambery woods including a creamy, vaguely sweet sandalwood and some patchouli. Remnants of the oud also peek out through the base notes. It is just gorgeous. This stuff smells like a niche release costing at least twice what Zarahoff asks for Signature Pour Homme. This scent has good longevity of 8 hours or more and strong projection well into the final 90 minutes. The presentation is nice, if not particularly notworthy. I think if any scent I have experienced recently can be said to be of a specific gender, this one has to be labeled masculine. You can get samples through the Zaharoff website, and this fragrance is exceptionally worthy of at least sampling. Very highly recommended.

This fragrance opens on a sweet-spicy and flowery blend of lavender, black pepper, cardamom, Jasmine and Pear. Then the main column of this composition which is made up of a wonderful blending of lavender, iris, Jamaican Pimento, ginger, oud, incense and sandalwood imposes its power. Finally, a relaxing dry down characterized by a beautiful oriental vibe made of sandalwood, iris, patchouli, vanilla, amber and myrrh will linger for hours on your skin. I get a Luxurious, clean and soapy vibe which gives a clean gentlemanly aspect to this fragrance. At this point the fragrance reminded me Ted Lapidus pour Homme, which is one of my favorite old school fragrance. It was just like it has been rejuvenated thanks to this beautiful iris note and updated by this juicy pear note which replaces the caramelized pineapple note so characteristic of Ted Lapidus for Men. Longevity is way above average, projection is moderate and sillage is subtle but very persistent. You will get noticed if you bundle spray.😁 To me, this creation is a smart and modern interpretation of a masculine old-school fragrance. A woody-aromatic fougère with a spicy barbershop vibe that you can wear casually or for formal occasions. It could be a great quality office signature scent for a man over 25 and it is in my opinion very reasonably priced. The nose behind this creation is Claude Dir, MANE. Congratulations to Georges Zaharoff for this brilliant introduction in the world of modern perfumery. I can’t wait to smell his next creations.😊

Far from mind blowing, but it isn’t trying to be. I imagine this achieves George’s aspirations given that it’s his baby, which is a big reason I chose this. Obviously Zaharoff is his heritage, and he comes across a grounded and passionate person, so I couldn’t imagine he’d put his family name to any old s**t. So he’s done himself proud, and generously provided us with a high quality perfume. It doesn’t really smell like anything in particular to me, it’s dynamic and has some layers. What I get most at the top is a mix of sweet, fruity, resinous, soapy, smoky, herbaceousness, and spice. Within an hour the sweet and fruit aspect subsides, and I pick up soapy, smoky, resinous, and herbaceous quality’s. I also detect iris which I find gives it a luxurious and premium feel. In fact I almost pick up MFK Oud Satin Mood in the far background when smelling, as this does also contain rose and Oud, but they are completely different beasts and not interchangeable. I do however think they would mix well together, which is a combo I might try. EDIT: It’s funny because after 2 hours I pick up more sweetness again. This definitely is a well balanced scent, that never ventures into a certain territory. For me it’s the clean’ness that persists throughout, and then all the other elements come and go, mingle together, then take centre stage, which I feel helps make it a safe likeable and professional smelling scent, with some balls, and isn’t generic. I give it a 3.75/5

This is refined & balanced woody aromatic with a barbershop vibe. It has an old school vibe but is also extremely modern without being cloyingly sweet or riddled with ambroxan. It's got a light sweetness, and herbal quality, clean smelling. This smells extremely expensive and is definitely niche, but won't necessarily break the bank. This cost about the same as a Tom Ford Signature Line at retail or a PDM at discounters, but but doesn't have that heaviness that most TF Fragrances possess. This has a TON of notes, but it's SO well blended that nothing really stands out but is rather a harmony of notes. Fresh, Barbershop-ish, Light Sweetness, Light Florals, but has enough density to last without feeling like a grandpa scent or being animalic. Very versatile, can be worn in any weather, day or night I will be getting a full bottle of this in the future. I bought a "make my own" discovery set and got a signed note from the owner which was a nice touch. This does not smell like Guerlain Heritage, and does not smell like Drakkar, Envy nor Prada Amber Extreme. This is a masterpiece. Signature Rose is extremely nice too. Bravo George Zaharoff. UPDATE: Purchased a 120ml bottle using a 20% off bottle they email you if you leave it in your cart. Man.....this stuff is amazing. Opening is a little strong, but once it settles down a bit, it smells like an extremely well balanced fragrance. Projection is not huge, but the longevity is very good.

Just swinging back by to say don’t believe the hate from the haters either, I have been purchasing and enjoying this fragrance long before it became as popular as it is now. This is one of the best fragrances ever created. However it is unmistakably and unapologetically masculine. If you only want unisex fragrances, then you don’t want this one. If you don’t like masculine fragrances, then you wont like this one. This fragrance truly is all class and sophistication though, best suited for a gentleman and not a youthful fun party crowd. Boys will not like this, men most likely will, young party girls will not like this one, classy high end women most likely will. That’s just facts. It’s not a mass appealing scent for most such as a Sauvage or BDC. However the quality of this one trumps your average designer. Having said that some people aren’t going to like this fragrance and that’s true for this and every other fragrance and that doesn’t make you a bad person for not. I’m mainly trying to leave another review that might save you some money or might make this your new signature scent like it did mine. So buy or sample with knowing that this fragrance is not youthful, blue, aquatic or average. It’s high end, high quality, and high class for a man. Hope this helps others in their journey on discovering what in my opinion is the best fragrance ever to come into fruition.

I don't want to say this was a blind buy, but it sort of was. I first smelled it as one of the 10,000 samples George sent out. That sample came broken, so that doesn't really count? While I was waiting for the sample to arrive I checked out the Zaharoff youtube channel and saw some of what they had been doing to make this fragrance. I was sold. Even if was bad, seeing the journey to make it was worth the price. And speaking of price, it's more than reasonable for what you get. The juice itself is amazing. High quality ingredients shine through. It exudes class and sophistication. I would say this a more formal scent, but can easily worn in more casual situations for a more mature gentleman. Great performance on this one with it lasting 10 or 11 hours on me, 5 or 6 before settling closer to the skin. Before finishing I want to comment on the customer service of this company. I ordered direct from their website (Nordstroms won't ship to my address). When I received the product I found a personal note from George. Additionally, I found that my bottle was numbered, 336/500, with a note to send that number in. I did so and received a special addition print of the bottle blueprint. Overall, my experience with George and the company has been amazing and I would strongly recommend them to any collector or someone who's new to the scene on that alone.

The opening is at first glance simliar to Prada Lhomme Absolu with the lavender. But it quickly becomes a very unique scent nothing like Prada. The dry down brings out a complex mix of herbal spices/frankincense underneath the lavender added to keep it from being too lavender sweet. The dry down could slightly be compared to PDM Layton but not as irritating to the nose. Like a softer Layton. (This comparison is only for reference ) This is really well made. Once this settles down, about 15 mins, it stays at that performance and smell for 5-6+hours depending on weather. Silage stays with you 4+hrs sometimes more with your trail. Most mention they notice when I walk by. They must have put seriously good juice in this. Performance. I sprayed a decant on my hand, 2 sprays. I smelled it for an hour, went jogging, sweated, came home, washed up, ate dinner and watched tv for an hour. Smelled my hand and it is still very noticeable to a good degree. Wow, nice staying power. 2nd review: After wearing this for awhile you will notice your nose adapts to it and finds an even more amazing scent...this stuff never stops blowing me away. I reached out to Zarharoff and was emailed back by George himself. He sent me an autographed sample and a copy of the bottle designs....really classy guy, wow.

I received a sample and absolutely love Signature. It’s a versatile sophisticated masculine fougere scent that is worthy of being someone’s signature scent. it is unique and modern. The lavender gives it a classic fresh aromatic scent. The vanilla adds a hint of sweetness. I think (maybe?) it’s the myrrh that adds a spiciness to it that comes across similar to cinnamon. I agree with others that a pear note is also present. The pear blends perfectly with the other notes. It has a woody base that enriches the scent and adds depth. This can be worn to any occasions and anytime of year. I have been embracing it to the office. The scent is 10/10 - absolutely stunning. The projection is the only area where it is lacking. I did 4 sprays from the sample bottle (which are small spays). It has about 1-2 feet of projection. The longevity was decent, about 6 hours. In fairness if it were two sprays from a regular bottle the performance might been better. It’s on my to buy list. I have about 5 or 6 fragrances I’ve been wanting ahead of it. The projection and price are the only things making it lower on my list. But at some point in the next year it will very likely be in my collection. Overall very well done.

First of all this is a high quality scent, beautifully blended. You can tell that right off the bat. I would classify it as a barbershop/fougere type of a scent, old school with a modern twist. I agree with the "makes me smell/feel like a Ceo or Boss" comments, it does that. It exudes class and sophistication. It drives more to a formal setting but It could be easily used for casual situations as well. The opening invigorates you and the drydown soothes you. The name said it right, "Signature". For me, this is an all round scent which has the word gentleman written all over it. Projection is moderate. It will get you noticed but It won't shout. I see what they were going for, they nailed it. Longevity is great, it will get you through the day, no problem. A special shout out to the generosity of George Zaharoff. I had an opportunity to test Signature pour homme, and I'm in Europe. First sample I got was shattered due to poor handling care and guess what, Mr. Zaharoff sends another one with a hand written note. You are a true gentleman with a big heart and you've created a beautiful scent. Thank you for showing love for the community!

The first time I smelled this directly on my skin I was surprised at the depth of the fragrance. The Lavender, insence, Oud combo really gives this thing balls. The more subtle floral notes really compliment this fragrance, it is refreshing and yet distinctive. It cuts through Autumn & Winter like nobodies business, and gives you a presence in rooms, and a boost in confidence when you get a gust of wind refresh your olfactory senses. It is very masculine, in a way that is un intrusive. Yes, it can be loud, but it's not super dark. You can wear it at work or out and about. At work I stick to around 3-4 sprays. When I want to wonder the streets of London town I'll give it a few extra sprays so I can soar through the bracing wind flowing down the river. If someone is thinking about spending money on something like Bleu De Chanel L'Exclusif - which is not the same scentat all- but I feel this gives you much more for the money and is wearable in the same scenarios. Probably the most solid 8/10 you can get in terms of it never disappoints and you keep coming back to it.

This is an exceptional fragrance: the highest quality ingredients have been blended together in perfect balance to create - what is it exactly...an Oriental fougere, I suppose - that suits most seasons, times, and situations. The lavender grounds it in fougere territory, but it is a much more sophisticated scent than that: the mix of spices, ginger, amber, oud, and others create a scent that feels familiar yet absolutely unique. This is wearable year-round except for the hottest days, daytime or evening, dressed up or down or in between, and by a gent of almost any age (although I think it will be most popular with those 30+). It has decent projection - i.e. good projection without screaming!), and excellent longevity...8+ hours on me, with only the last couple as a skin scent. I can't recommend this highly enough. The value here is great: this is basically a niche fragrance at a designer price. I've just ordered a second bottle, making sure it's a large one this time!

I just noticed that some people compare this to Envy, and even though there is a mild similarity if you really get into the notes, there really isn't even a passing similarity in how the two fragrances come off. Envy is way creamier with a really intense sandalwood note whereas Zaharoff has a lot more of the lavender front and center, which comes off fresher. Envy does have some freshness especially the late period batches where the incense was toned down and the ginger was more heavily emphasized, but overall it comes off less clean and more sweet I guess I would say compared to Zaharoff. Their primary similarities are in that they both have a smoky, woodsy backbone, but this is definitely doing it's own thing. I love it though. It reminds me more of the early 90s barbershop style scents than anything. I think the closest fragrance in my collection to this is Guerlain's Heritage, but this is more modern and more interesting than the modern formulation of that one.

I echo the previous reviews. Only thing I’d like to add is how extraordinarily calming this scent is. While it is very sophisticated - even complex - it has such a whimsical, calming effect to it. The incense with slight citrus undertones do something magical in this. It’s a soft fragrance - and that probably helps (although the opening can be a little heavier, it’s quick to die). It certainly feels more mature - but I feel like I’m only saying that because it doesn’t have a bubble gum sweetness to it. So take that with a grain of salt. I don’t think it’s fair to assign an age limit to this - because it smells so darn good. Overall I’m very impressed with this - it gives no credence to the current trends in perfumery - but instead chooses a new path. I applaud them for taking this route and am very appreciative of the outcome. If I had to describe this scent - I’d use adjectives like clean, soft and uplifting (without heavy citrus). Buy it - don’t look back.

I was lucky enough to get a sample with Claude Dir's signature on it, when it was released. I feel the projection and longevity was better than the new blue'ish version I have now. Still, it's an amazing fragrance and signature is definitely a fitting name for it. You can pick out the individual notes listed above, but I don't think none of them steals the show. It's a really well-balanced composition. It reminds me of Bottega Veneta Pour Home. It's not like they smell similar, but more like the nature and what they evoke. They both scream man. He can be rugged, leather jacket, motor bike or he can be dressed in business suit and attache. They both also have a throwback feel from the time where men smelled like men. Both a bit barbershop-esque with a slight 80's feel, but still very contemporary. If you liked BV PH you owe yourself to try this. And even if you don't. It's just a fantastic scent and definitely up the for me.

A brutal gentleman ? Homme indeed it is, make no mistake – heavy, dark and with great performance. Rich, complex and almost swamp-like, but in a refined way. The interesting fact is that it comes across as a brute force, but still it’s smooth and creamy. Opening with woody and spicy lavender, cardamom and a dash of pepper and followed by a more smoky and looming heart which consists mainly of oud, cedar and ginger root. The base is a tad powdery, centered around incense and wet patchouli with hints of sandalwood and spicy myrrh. It smells modern, but still has a kinda retro vibe - the dichotomy of retro vs. modern in this one is brilliantly constructed. Great scent, very well blended and great performance but you have to be in the right mood to wear this – it may not be office appropriate everywhere and pulling it off as a casual scent could also prove to be challenging. Very lovely indeed and I for one am rating it FBW

I've held off on purchasing this since its release but I finally pulled the trigger a few days ago and sprayed it on today. There are only a few fragrances I've come across that I would call a "Chapter Fragrance". What I mean by Chapter Fragrance is when you smell something you've never smelled before and it completely turns you nose into a new direction. This happens to be one of them. I'm sure others out there will be able to tell you this smells like other fragrances they've had in the past and that's fine with me. But, this is a fragrance/smell I've never smelled before and I'm completely in love with it. Raise'm high and drink'm dry!! Cheers!! EDIT: 12/04/2022. Been about 12 months since I’ve worn this. Perhaps it macerated a bit more but it’s darker and richer than what I remembered. Wore it today for a birthday party and got a few compliments!

Zaharoff Signature is such a beautiful, classy, uplifting fragrance. George Zaharoff has successfully created a modern fragrance while paying hommage to the old school classics. This is nothing like Mont Blanc Individuel, it's not even close. If you don't like oud, don't worry, it's not a heavy player here. I really wish Fragrantica listed the pear, cardamom, ginger, amber and iris notes, because they're unique and beautiful. The pyramid of notes is not accurate. Also, there's no vetiver in here. ZS is the perfect signature scent for any season, day or night. I love it! So I received a free sample. The presentation was of luxury. The scent wafting from the bottle was an impressive, somehow elegant,cypress and cedar. I decided to spray some on my left wrist. At first I was greeted with an exotic fragrance. It was sweeter, more lavender than I expected. No huge hit of woods like I expected. It mellows out into a class fragrance very comfortable with its self. At a couple hours its a mellow sexy, elegant, woodsy, sweet aroma that I don't have better words to describe just now. Yes you could wear this dressed to the nines. Wouldn't be misplaced with nice casual, or even dressed for a safari. Just can't imagine someone wearing this with sweat pants or gym shorts however. Addictive to smell this. Stimulation like the best smelling book, tea, coffee, beer... If you know what I mean, you know.

@Ramsesll (and his comment): The 'fanboys' of scents like this could not give a flying f**k about whether females like it or not. The 'fanboys' of this scent (and similar scents) appreciate the quality, scent profile. and character of this, they enjoy wearing it, and they wear it for themselves. It isn't just an 'office safe fougere with added oud', it's a high quality professional and elegant smelling woody oriental versed fougere scent, which smells and performs above its price point, and contains a much higher density of genuine high quality natural perfume oils than typical basic bitch fragrances do, which aren't worth 1/10th of their price. Basic bitch females might not like this, but sophisticated females with stellar taste will enjoy this. This is not for f**k boys, nor for alphas, only for sigmas.

Finally got my sample. As others have indicated this juice is a late 80's to late 90's masculine done in a modern way. I'm really loving it because of that classic barbershop vibe but yet leans a little to being a fougere. Barbershop and fougere are my two favorite genres in the frag world. The quality in Zaharoff Signature is easily detectable, the notes smell very natural to me. And it's very versatile... can be worn in all seasons except maybe very hot/humid days. It's a Boss kind of scent, a 'man's man' fragrance if you will. To me, it's better for more serious/formal or somewhat important situations such as a board meeting, special evening, or taking your wife/partner out to a nice restaurant. I think men/ladies 30+ will appreciate it more than the younger crowd. And that's why I love it.

What a gorgeous fragrance. I first sampled this fragrance when I requested a free sample from George Zaharoff's website, and what I got was pure luxury for a small sample. The packaging, and presentation were classy, and luxurious. The fragrance itself blew me away. I knew I'd have to order a full bottle one day. The full bottle is a thing of beauty. Such a beautiful design all in all. Lavender is prominent in this fragrance, BUT it has lots of depth with the notes of oud, myrrh, incense, and sandalwood that make it a well rounded scent. It smells of a classy, well dressed professional man. The fragrance is smooth, a touch of sweetness, spice, warmth, and the lavender makes it all very relaxing to wear. Longevity and performance are above average for me. Great for any occasion, and I mean it!

Try it! Barbershop with middle-eastern resins. Lavender, rose, myrhh, oud. Quality of this fragrance is sky high and honestly the price is pretty fair. Masculin Pluriel is one of my favourites. This keeps the shaving foam lavender and supports it with myrhh and lightly smoky oud instead of leather. It comes of more daring then MP. Love both of the fragrances for different reasons. You can wear it any time. Exception might be hot sunny summer day. But hot summer night? Go for it. I have to say these kinds of scents are the reason why I love perfumes so much. The bottle mirrors the scent, so it is fantastic. This should be present in the hall of fame next to Aventus, Tuscan Leather, Oud Wood, Le Male, Bleu de Chanel, Terre d'Hermes etc. You get it. A+.

Wearing a sample for a few days now and wow. I was already very impressed when I commented on youtube that I was waiting for my sample and George personally chimed in and requested my info through an email.So I got the sample and a nice signed postcard which in my mind puts customer service on level 10. First smell I get is Lavender and some spices but it's a very calming and quality blend. I feel so confident wearing this stuff. It's strong but in a gentle way and most importantly very noticeable.I usually only wear fougere's as an office scent "TF Beau deJour" but I will absolutely wear this as a night out scent. It strikes me as a cross between TF BDJ and Amouage.An oustanding scent with outstanding performance and quality.

I just received my sample in the mail today with a handwritten note from George. This fragrance is absolutely gorgeous. It's difficult for me to describe...it calls to mind so many classic fragrances from the past but it is modern at the same time. Imagine taking a classic men's barbershop fragrance and adding a few deep, rich layers. It's the most beautiful lavender note blended seamlessly with woods and patchouli and just a touch of vanilla and it's clear that the quality of the ingredients is unsurpassed. A contemporary classic Master perfumer Claude Dir created a masterpiece with this scent. I think it will prove to be timeless and will certainly bring a smile to your face, especially post covid when someone compliments you. Opulent lavender, balanced by a resinous myrrh moves this masculine scent from a pseudo fougere to a modern amber with fougere nuances. Zaharoff is a brand that is growing, rightfully so as the quality and richness are attracting appropriate praise. However, this scent may still be one of their very best. This fragrance is dark, alluring, and gentlemanly. an upscale concoction of clean lavender, dark and slightly smoking resins, and a bit of sweet vanilla. It makes me think of something MFK would make. This is for a sophisticated modern gentleman. Boys need not apply. @Bumba Mont Blanc Individuel? Not even remotely in the same territory, bud. Yes, this fragrance does have a retro vibe, but with modern elements. This fragrance isn't generic to me at all, as I said earlier....It smells like something MFK would make for their Oud line, even though the oud is quite light in this one. MY FUTURE SIGNATURE FRAGRANCE I bought a 4.0 oz bottle recently (from the Zaharoff homepage), and was send two 2.0 oz bottles instead, because the "big one" was sold out. That was very lucky for me, as this made it possible to gift one of them to my dad. He has now gotten his very first niche perfume at an age of 72. I adore this scent - It points back to a time when I was much younger, but still manages to be modern and current from start to finish. This will (at some point) become my signature fragrance, I am sure of it! Modern, Old School, Masculine, Long-lasting, Very High Quality, Very Well Blended, Smooth, Classy, Signature-worthy.

I got a sample of this and... WOW. I am 26, so I was kind of worried that this was going to come across as "too mature", like for a guy in his mid 30's+. While it does have mature-ish vibe, it just smells so manly and beautiful that any man really, can wear this. It smells like the highest quality handmade barbershop product with a little bit of a sweet twist in the background. Easy year round every day scent that can be worn in both a professional work environment as well as a casual work environment with "tech startup" vibes. I give this a 10/10, and I will definitely be picking up a full bottle of this sometime in the near future.

There are not a lot of things in life that bring you genuine comfort, confidence, and joy. Zaharoff Pour Homme is a fragrance that can be worn by any age group, and in a professional setting, or a casual. My barber fell in love with it, as did the truck driver delivering to me that caught a smell of me walking by. I wear this atleast 3-4 times a week. I own everything from designer, niche, and Indie and I will ALWAYS have a bottle of this in my collection. It also helps that George (the owner) is a genuine and kind heart person. If you haven’t tried it yet, don’t wait!

Not only is this fragrance TOP NOTCH, it smells higher quality than its price point, AND George is one of the greatest people I have ever chatted with! The nuances hit you throughout the day and bring a smile to your face. I would pay over $300 for a 4oz bottle of this stuff, and still think I got a hell of a deal. There is nothing on the market like this, and I hope there never will be. Noir and Royale are just as equally killer. Zaharoff is a genius and the world ought to pay their respect. I received a free sample after visiting the perfumer's website. I relished every last drop. The oud is the heart of this fragrance, full-bodied, smooth and extremely elegant, lovely dry and crackling together with a glut of transcendent incense woods and resins. A pure clean lungful of rich woody smoke. Cypress and fir balsam add a crispness. The pear, ginger, lavender and spices add a wine-like herbal depth, like spicy herbal wine. So nuanced, balanced and lovingly crafted. The quality of ingredients is so apparent. Very deep scent.

Fantastic Classic but Modern, clean but dirty, light yet dark and subtle but powerful. This has some of my favorite notes blended, so I always knew I would enjoy this. However I truly love this mix, from the top til drydown for me it's perfect for its style. Suits any season bar when it's really hot and any occasion. This for me is a Swiss army knife of a fragrance. Versatile and elegant, Great presentation, I always feel upbeat and glowing when I apply this. I wouldn't change a thing, Will forever be in my top 3 for life 10/10

I just received a bottle of Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme. This is my first experience with any cologne from this house. I must say that I am absolutely blown away by the quality and movement of this scent as it dries down. It leans a bit formal but it is sooooo elegant, warm and classy that I will wear it any time I want to! With all the alcohol blast, bug spray for sale right now, how can this house/scent not be getting more buzz in the fragrance community? I can't wait to see the reaction at work tomorrow!!

Wow, this thing projects amazingly well! You can tell this is well blended because some of the notes are difficult to point out. Fresh jasmine, vetiver and rose top the opening, but after wearing it for a while, lavender, resins, and woods take control. Out of that woody base, I can smell the oud first, then creamy sandalwood right after. This is a sophisticated "beast mode" fragrance that is refined enough to be suitable for almost any occasion. Go grab a free sample and try this!

Fragrance to which I have only one thing to argue with: the Pour Homme in the name. It's wonderful and I would wear it all the time, it has a classic, fresh composition that has lavender, aromatic notes, softened by incense that are classy and absolutely unisex. It might be reminiscent of one of those purely masculine 90s fragrances, but only just, which makes it more appealing on a woman. Really well made and classy, in some ways reassuring and no different from resolute.

You guys don't smell oud? Seriously? It dries down to nothing but smokey oud. Starts sweet, spicy, and fruity. Mid is very powdery. Dries down to quite potent but clean oud. Lasting power is incredible, and the projection is well-balanced. I don't know if it needs time to macerate, but it feels way too powdery on my skin in the drydown phase to call it elegant. To me, powder obscures the entire presentation of a scent like a thick fog if overdone. 8.5/10.
