The Siren

This is my first try of The Siren by Curly Scents x Zaharoff, one of the recent trio releases from the Zed Creators, described (as I understand it) as the heaviest, most cold-weather-leaning, and most gourmand-like of the three releases, and without even comparing it the other releases, I can confirm that it lives up to the billing of being a robust, mostly-gourmand scent, and it is, as its name suggests, quite alluring. Upon first spray I immediately feel inclined to classify it as a “gourmand leather” (it’s really the first quick catchphrase that comes to mind), with more parts gourmand (coffee, cognac, chocolate, almond) than leather (and spices: ginger, cardamom, coriander, patchouli). A fragrance like Davidoff Leather Blend, by contrast, is more parts leather, fewer parts gourmand, but I’d still grossly characterize it similarly as a gourmand leather; still, the distinction is important. The note list seems accurate, showing that The Siren is a sweet, spicy, boozy, leathery mix, an example (like Piotr Czarnecki Sensei/Shihan, albeit less masculine) of a multifaceted blend of cold-weather-fitting notes. In that vein, this strikes me as a scent I would wear more in the cooler weather or perhaps in the nighttime rather than on a warmer day. It’s dense but overwhelmingly so that one could comfortably pull it off throughout the year, but I wouldn’t personally opt for it in the current high heat in much of the US. And, as most gourmands are, The Siren is also quite unisex, something anyone with a sweet tooth and an love of booze and chocolate could enjoy. Priced very reasonably at $119 for 60ml, under the $2/ml mark. Like the rest of the Zaharoff catalogue, its concentration is EDP and its performance is quite great. I believe that one can request a sample as well. Overall, I’m really impressed. This is an indulgent, pleasing mostly-gourmand-with-some-leather fragrance that will get major wears by many in the winter, especially, but really can work year-round as a nighttime / seductive option for anyone. 8 out of 10

I recently got all of the Zed creators fragrances in, and while this one is more of a cooler weather scent I did wear it in July, in Texas. I was a bit surprised about the difference from smelling it on paper to on skin. On paper it felt like there would be no way to wear this during the summer in my region, but it wasn’t overpowering and wore quite nicely even outdoors. In the opening of this fragrance I get some spice with a heavy dose of booziness coming from the congac. At first I thought there could be some tobacco in here, because I did pick up a smoky nuance. I believe that is coming from the Vetiver which is a woodsy almost earthy Vetiver on my skin. During the heart and dry down I do pick up the blending of the coffee with the Booz accord and a slight touch of leather. The Vetiver continues to be identifiable throughout the life of the scent. I feel this to be a masculine scent, perfectly suited for a night out, especially if dressed up but not with a tie. The performance does have some staying power. I got about 10 hours of longevity, more on clothing. The projection was about arms length for the first 2 hours then the scent was a little closer to the skin. I would say anyone standing next to you would be able to detect it. This is not going to be an easy wear for everyone, and not everyone will enjoy it. But, if you enjoy a rich scent with some complexity, this is it. The price tag being 119.00 I feel is pretty good. You get the second to none class that comes with every Zaharoff produced product, and a wonderful limited edition fragrance. The Siren is exactly what the name suggests. It draws you in without trying too hard. Dark, smooth, and a little mysterious, it creates an aura rather than just a scent trail. On my skin it opens with a magnetic blend of ginger, cardamom, coriander, and almond that feels warm and alive, then flows seamlessly into the heart where coffee, leather, moss, and dark chocolate give it depth and texture. The dry down is where it really shines. Cognac, patchouli, vetiver, and amber woods wrap everything together into something rich, slightly animalic, and incredibly attractive without being loud. This is not a fragrance that shouts. It pulls people closer. It feels intentional, confident, and atmospheric. Perfect for evenings, cooler weather, or anytime you want presence without overstatement. It is genuinely unique, and it is a shame this was a limited release. I am grateful to have secured more than one bottle because this is the kind of scent you want to enjoy freely, not ration. If you ever find it from a trusted source, it is absolutely worth experiencing.

Now I love sweet smells and gourmands. This one right here is not too sweet and the opening does fade out and the mid notes and base notes unfold quickly. It's dry, dark, balsamic, and to my nose I definitely get the leather here. Of the three creations by the ZedCreators, this one deviates from the two because it's got more of a niche vibe and it's scent-structure isn't similar at all to the other two. I think this fragrance is pretty safe if you want a sweet leathery almondy perfume that isn't too loud. Great for evening wear. Sexy, smooth, and just a bit more masculine wearing but anyone can pull this off especially if they wear it dressed up.

Love it. Totally reminds me of Black Phantom, but less sweet, less nutty, and instead of smelling like peanuts I get almond. It's more airy than Black Phantom so could probably be used in Spring as well as Fall/Winter. The added note of leather is blended so smoothly that you can definitely smell it but it doesn't come off as obvious. As it dries down the patchouli and vetiver come out and it smells like a hint of fresh tobacco leaves too. After giving it a few wears, on my skin, it starts off as black phantom and turns into tabac royal. What an interesting creation. Kudos to Andrea, the perfumer, and George!!

Unique scent that makes you stand out. However, you definitely need to embody a certain type of personality or else it'll make you seem out of place or come across as odd. Nevertheless if you know you have that edge to your personality this dark woody scent with hues of warm spices and a subtle sweetness will compliment your personality. It starts off woody and quite sweet. As it begins to settle onto your skin the sweetness subdues giving way to more depth as the patchouli, cognac, and leather notes really stick out. Appropriate to wear in the evenings, during the fall, or winter months.

Reminders are........non-existent. 1 of 1. I wish there was a similar fragrance. Extremely sophisticated whiskey scent with lots of depth. The Nuances are to die for. Uber masculine. Fall and winter show stopper. One of the few fragrance ls that I smell the atomizer of DAILY. I wish this wasn't so good. I really do. Thank you so much, Zaharoff, for making (allowing) incredible fragrances!! Brass&Soul is my all-time favorite fragrance, but The Siren is knocking on the door.

So I get the Black Phantom opening that others have mentioned, I also do get the Ombré Leather that is present at a large chunk of the wear. However I am also getting facets of Drakkar Noir and as dry down starts to build I get the spark of ginger and the smoky woody incense that I loved in the now discontinued Gucci Envy for Men. Overall this to me is a modern stance on a true 80's power house frag. Worth the buy if you like any of the fragrances i've mentioned

Love at 1st sniff. Very complex and deep. This is what Jazz Cub should have been. Nights out with that special friend dancing to some Coltrane while sipping on your favorite alcoholic beverage. Mature but not old fashioned or dated. Something that it seems like the House of Frapin would make but whatever. Not a room filler or soft but just right in the middle. For the folks that like but don't love leather and the same for super sweet gourmands this is the one.

Finally got mine! Its similar to Kilian Black Phantom but dirtier with that added patchouli/vetiter combo. Very nice and last quite a while too! I prefer this also because in the dry down theres a subtle clean vibe that I don’t get from Black Phantom.

Beautiful, unique, animalic. I do not even want to spray my bottle to make it last. It’s a shame that this was a limited fragrance. Does not smell anything like JV crimson.

Wow, this is boozy, dark and mysterious. Will most likely wear on cooler nights. Can see this being worn for a night out to a jazz club or an upscale lounge.

Again. Now someone says this smells like a smoker version of Dark rebel. Lol what even? This is not Smokey too me. This is a very complex scent.

I feel bad for everyone who couldn’t get a bottle before it sold out! This fragrance is amazing! Defintley one of the better releases this year.

I finally got my shipment few days ago. I only got a full bottle of The Siren but it came with samples of the Brass & Soul and Business over Pleasure because The Siren is more my taste based on the notes and Michella endorsed it. I was skeptical about getting it because Andrea’s choices of fragrances usually aren’t quite my taste until Michella told me I would love it because I have similar tastes as Michella. I wore it one whole day and I would say I do like it because it is something I like BUT....nothing groundbreaking. I felt it smells so familiar and I went thru my collection and I know what it is now. It is Black Phantom with a less sweet top. That’s it! The opening remind me of Golden Dallah too. I have full bottle of both in my collection already so it’s kind of redundant to have The Siren in my collection. Fortunately, they set the price at a very reasonable range so I don’t regret getting it but I may not get it if I could test it ahead. It’s not because it’s a bad fragrance but just way too similar to Black Phantom. The Siren listed leather in the notes breakdown but I can’t detect it so it’s really just like Black Phantom to my nose. If I have to choose between them, I would pick Black Phantom over the Siren because BP is definitely thicker and richer. They both have good longevity but BP has better projection even BP is not a loud fragrance already. The Siren only project for the first hour then it turns to very intimate like skin scent. Also the Siren has a more synthetic feel than BP. Quality wise BP is better but The Siren is definitely a cheaper version of BP so it would be a great alternative for people who love BP but with limited budget. I truly think it is a clone but the price is reasonable as a clone. Honestly I would rate it lower if they prices it at a range like FDB.

I received my package on 7/10/21 and of the 3 different Zed Creator fragrances this is the one that I was most skeptical about. When I saw the note of leather I thought about not getting it at all because I'm not to fond of the note. Against my better judgement I went ahead and purchased the fragrance and I'm not disappointed about my decision. Upon the first few sprays I thought "I need to have a jacket on to wear this...or at least a sweater". It's definitely a dark fragrance that I think will shine in colder climates. As it got to the mid and dry down it started to remind me of something familiar. The combination of chocolate, coffee, and leather hasn't been done often. I thought of Black Phantom but remembered that Black Phantom doesn't contain leather. Then, it hit me. This smells very similar to .JS (dotJS) by Anaxus Perfumes as they both contain the notes of coffee, chocolate, and leather. So, is this a groundbreaking fragrance? No. But, it doesn't smell very good and if you're into sweeter darker fragrances then you'll love this one. The performance and projection are excellent.

I'm a fan of this - even though it departs from the sweeter feminine scents that I tend to wear, I think that this is going to be beautiful unisex fragrance for cooler weather. While wearing it, I was wondering what it reminds me of, and then it hit me - MFK's Grand Soir. It does NOT smell the same, but they have a very similar deep, spicy/resinous background that correlates them in my mind. I much prefer The Siren, as it is more complex and less sweet than Grand Soir, which I have been told smells like sweet corn on me. Would definitely suggest getting this, as it's a great fragrance, great performer, and all for significantly less than either Grand Soir or Black Phantom.

This one is heavy right out the gate. In fact it almost smells like it’s composed entirely of base notes. Dry, smoky, chocolatey, but a dark chocolate. I hesitate to call this a gourmand because I feel like the leather takes a huge role in the shape of this scent profile. Best way I can describe it is if you mixed Black Phantom with Dark Rebel. This evokes images of a brisk winter night wrapped in a black, heavy wool coat and scarf after a meal at a small and intimate restaurant. Wood walls, perhaps a fireplace. It’s familiar, but not entirely redundant if you own any of the fragrances I mentioned earlier.

The leather melds with the dark chocolate and patchouli in an attempt to imply something more cunning and dangerous the closer you get. Instead it reminds me of a few other smokey gourmands, Lonestar Memories (for guys) and Bandit Supreme (for girls) are both much better at providing a mysterious air of danger to the wearer. However this is still fine as an entry level gourmand fragrance, which also means you shouldn't be too upset if you missed out and DEFINITELY DO NOT buy at the outrageous prices you might find from resellers.

It is indeed a unique fragrance. Unfortunately I can only smell it from a distance or on strips. Every time I use it, I break out in very painful hives and I need to take a high dose of anti-histamines. If any one wants it, I would be happy to sell it at a reduced price. Same seems to go for Brass and Soul.. So sad...

This smells good. It’s a mix of Black Phantom, Ombré Leather, and two heavy boozy accords. It’s a gourmand but it isn’t too sweet. It smells dark and masculine. Probably best to wear at night in cold weather. I’d give this a solid 8/10. Not the best thing ever created but above expectations.

I was so looking forward to this fragrance smelling great and it doesn't. Reminds me of hair being straightened and the smell it has after, Almost like burnt hair. I have black phantom and this had a certain undertone similar to BP for like 10 mins. Score of 3/10 for me

I think this is the best I smelled from Zaharoff of the samples I recieved, and I got Siren, Brass and the Signature series. A very nice sweet tobacco, a bit generic and soft but good.
