Zaharoff Pour Homme

One of the best fragrances I've ever smelled. I'm returning the bottle to George Zaharoff tomorrow, as it's his personal bottle. This is the only bottle to my knowledge that hasn't been actuated, and George Zaharoff paid a pretty penny for it. Smooth as silk. Sillage is not as strong as Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme. This is a more tamed down version of ZSPH. I love the evergreen or bay leaf and blue lavender opening. Note that some of these ingredients aren't allowed to be sold today. The myrrh and spiciness are toned down in the drydown a lot from ZSPH, as well as the projection. This fragrance is so well blended that past the opening, it's hard to pick apart notes. It's up there with classic Guerlain Heritage which I also own a bottle of. Longevity is similar to ZSPH. Smooth as silk! I recently acquired a 1999 bottle of Zaharoff Pour Homme. To say that this is a dream fragrance would be an understatement, I thought that this fragrance was completely lost and unattainable. Claude Dir did a fantastic job recapturing the original formula in the Signature Pour Homme line. The original opens up a little more subdued, slightly more powdery, and slightly more green and mossy than the current formulation. But those differences are very minor and it really takes a train to nose to pick up on those. I'm so glad to have the original version in my collection for historical purposes, but rest assured, if you have the current formulation, you have all that you need to enjoy Zaharoff Pour Homme

Cuddles pretty much covered it all , cheers! I get the Patchouli in the opening ... clean soapy lavender in the dry down. Which is sorta the opposite of how Signature Pour Homme works on me. Never the less Pour Homme has very much a similar DNA as Signature. If it was sprayed blindly on a test strip I would probably say that it was ZSPH ... great juice

Fougere smell with an rich backbone. The opening is the part I dont like so much : earthy, oudy and spicy. Dry down fougere like with a green, lavender, geranium dna with a woody and ambery backbone with a hint of soapiness. Its a little similar to Tom Ford Beau de Jour ( fougere and lavender part) but richer with the added amber/ resins.
