10.0 Zara

In the Wake of Issey Miyake This recent ZARA release, together with its 11.0 sibling, belongs to a collection issued a few years ago, originally including 7.0, 8.0, and 9.0, and soon after 6.0. In case you didn't know, the number in the name stands for the foremost notes in the composition, a kind of like of LeLabo naming convention. However, the truth is that there are more notes than just those listed on the bottle, according to the ingredient list and the official site, such as bergamot, leather, and cedar. 10.0 package consists of a carbon box, the bottle is made of frozen glass of sheer Prussian blue color. This is a woody aromatic cologne, don't be fooled by the bottle color, or by the aquatic accord, cause 10.0 is everything but Bvlgari Aqua or any of its flankers. This fragrance is a delight and I'm glad that I left my prejudices on the side and decided to give it a try. At first, just out of the bottle, you might be reminded of CD Fahrenheit, the petrol-violet vibe is screaming, similar, dominant. But after a short while, it fades away, and if you stick through it, the scent turns into its citrus, spicy, and woody aspects. The opening of 10.0 comes from dry bergamot, which takes a huge backseat to the slightly-sweeter mandarine accord here, and a touch of violet that brings a watery feel. Nothing earth-shattering but so excellently uplifting, happy, and fresh. Things get interesting when the leather, wood, and nutmeg take over after the opening citrus blast wears off. At this point, the sporty character makes little sense to me. The leather is that parched kind most modern fragrances sporting a leather note tend to play with, but it really just melds into green notes before the base comes on. At this stage, I didn't get any floral jasmine notes, yet the nutmeg shines. The citrus and leather melange fold into a slight dry amber (ambroxan) note which is livened with cedar and sandalwood and cut with some Iso E Super. They are many elements but they don't affect the freshness nor the lightness of this scent at all. They basically add depth, maturity, and distinctive character to the scent with the very mild yet unique sweet woodiness that they add. This is a very provocatively sensual and athletic/sporty perfume, it exudes strength and power a lot. It reminds me like L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Sport, which is very similar to the original yet less floral. It does have a little sweetness that comes from the nutmeg and leather and not from vanilla or tonka beans but a good amount to make it very charming and not cloying. I highly recommend this to men who are in the sporty field or heading to the gym, some of the men aren't blessed to have a good natural musky aroma but this perfume sure saves the day and makes your sweat become drops of sexiness that sure seems like it came off from pours of a greek god. If you like modern sporty scents, and you are fond of Issey Miyake l'Eau Sport, this one is a "buy" in my opinion. For right now, this was a rather nice find for me.

I was testing yesterday at Zara... This one is copy of Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme :) Smell same and longevity 12+ Hours on my skin... And I think sillage is really good... Now you make very nice copy Zara well done :) I think I will buying today this beautiful juice... Longevity : 10/10 Sillage : 8/10 Season : I think all season Note : Great for office scent...

Compared side by side with l'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Sport, same vibe, same development, a blast of spicy nutmeg, that's why someone finds this similar to l'Eau d'Issey original. Instead, it has nothing in common with Bvlgari Aqva or any flankers, the seaweed dominant note is not in there.

I see this as a cross between Bvlgari's Aqva Marine and l'Eau d'Issey Sport both are fragrances I really enjoy but combining 2 fragrances you love doesn't necessarly translate into a great frag anyway I'm glad this is one of those cases where it does. It's citrusy and aquatic, somehow it's salty and sweet and the coup de grace is that nutmeg note that takes it to l'Eau d'Issey Sport territory. All and all a great realease from Zara, not at all original but not a clone. I'm still testing performance but I don't expect much from Zara due to their track record but hopefully I'm wrong.

Update to my review from a month ago: I wore both this and Aqva Marine on my skin more and have changed my mind about 10.0 a bit. It's still not a bad scent but I see more differences between this and Aqva Marine now. 10.0 has less of the bitter sea quality. The citrus and aquatic woodiness are still there though. I would call it about 70% similar to Aqva Marine. If you don't care for the sea parts of AM this might still be a good pickup for you but otherwise I think Aqva Marine is just better. You can get Aqva Marine for reasonable amounts of money for a designer fragrance too and I personally love the round pebble bottle.

Really very very similar to Aqva Marine. Opens with a citrus and transitions into a bitter seaweed smell. It's cool and nice, doesn't smell as dated to me as the original Aqva (non-Marine version). Maybe it is a tiny bit less bitter than real Aqva Marine but hard to say if that's good, since that aspect of the sea is what I like about the real Aqva Marine. Worth a try and good value for money. 10.0 is about half the price of what you can get the real Aqva Marine online (which is still pretty affordable for a 100ml of a designer scent with a cool bottle) so take that into account.

On the paper strip, this has that Bvlgary Aqva DNA. With orange. So yes, it is a mix of aqva and amara. But that similarity goes away after 15 mins when this is straight Issey Myakke Pour Homme. Top to bottom, you get that vibe. You can call it, it's softer younger brother who doesn't go to the gym.

great for summer scent. I tried it yesterday at Zara store. I think it was a good dupe of bvlgari aqva marine. it reminds me of sunny beach days. I will buy it :) bergamot and mandarin orange combination good as well.
