9.0 Zara

A masterpiece on its own, regardless of how many people compare it to Valentino or Dior! So, I wanted to make a complete review of this fragrance, which I consider to be my favourite winter fragrance so far in my collection. Sorry for the long post, please enjoy ^_^ SCENT: The notes pretty much sum it up when it comes to the break-down, so no need for any extras here SENSATION/FEELING: "Orgasm in a bottle"! Honestly, my brain sometimes "turns off" when I smell this! It is so amazing, makes me so confident every time I wear it and in just a few months since purchasing it, not only I used like 2/3 of the bottle, but it brings back so many amazing memories! COMPLIMENTS: Arguably the most important thing about a fragrance. IT.IS.A.BEAST. I am honestly going to make another post with some stories of wearing this fragrance, but it is by far the most complimented fragrance I have ever owned so far! I got compliment from over 20 different girls(and I mean different people, not onlyt the same ones re-complimenting it) and a few guys in just two month of moderately wearing it, and 3 of my female friends are absolutely crazy about it every single time I wear it! PERFORMANCE: A strong one indeed. I (over)sprayed it on my tie for the NYE and t filled my room with the scent for the next 4 days. On my skin, it lasts for up to 7h, with 3-4h of great projection, another 2h of moderate projection and the rest of its life it stays softly, but can sometimes give a slight breeze of iris even after 8,9 hours of wear. The furthermost compliment I got from it was after about 6 and a half hours of wear WHAT TO WEAR WITH:I can totally say that I've tried any possible outfit with this one, from hoodies and jeans, lether jackest and boots, suits, sweaters, everything, and it works great with them all! Honestly, the bottle of the fragrance is quite represantative of the scent! Deep, dark colours will match the best. When wearing outdoors, I prefer having a turtleneck with this one, as the texture of it and the heat around your necjk area will make it smell more like iris and peppers, but indoors it's a whole new sotory! When wearing it with a shirt, it smells lighter, a little bit fresh maybe, giving a "tic-tack" vibe somenone mentioned in a review below. That's why I prefer it with some casual, striped shirts, or maybe the classics, as the all-white office shirts, as they are going to match the classiness of this fragrance better than a t-shirt or a simple polo. Overall, so far, it is my "10/10" fragrance. There's nothing I dislike about it, and for a 20y.o. college guy (like me), I could call this "a must" Sorry for the long review! A DUPE THAT'S WELL WORTH BUYING [short review] Yes, "9.0" by Zara does remember "Dior Homme Original" (EDT from 2011) and "Valentino Uomo" (EDT from 2014). It opens up as Valentino Uomo and dries down like Dior Homme. I don't like to publicise "look-alikes" solely for that reason. However, I think the use of this Zara fragrance is much more than that. The "9.0" is certainly a very high-quality fragrance. This can be easily concluded by looking at the rating given to it by Fragrantica - 4.25 out of 5 for the first edition and 4.39 out of 5 for the second edition. It's quite easy to recommend that you test it out in a Zara shop or even blind buy a cheap bottle of "9.0"... and then enjoy it to the last drop. I have a full bottle of Dior Homme Intense and I'm in no hurry to buy a new bottle of Dior EDT, even though mine is almost finished. The same thought occurs to me about a bottle of Valentino Uomo. I have two half-used Valentinos, the original Uomo and the flanker Uomo Intense. A good justification for this reasoning is that I have 2 bottles of Zara 9.0... I'm quite happy with the Zara and don't feel the need to buy backups or replacements of the Dior and Valentino mentioned. Zara 9.0 actually has a little less sillage and longevity than Dior Homme EDT, probably 1/3 less in my opinion. I don't mind increasing the spray a little, considering that Zara perfume costs 9~10 times less than the equivalent Dior Homme and 7~8 times less than Valentino Uomo. The note of Zara Iris is quite pleasant and not cloying like many other similar blends that use Iris, sometimes in much more expensive fragrances than this cheapie from Zara. This fragrance is even a little more versatile than its more expensive soul mates, as it's quite wearable on colder days. The reason for this is that the juniper and vetiver notes seem to be a little stronger in the Zara perfume. Last but not least, the Zara bottle has a pleasant and practical presentation. It's not at the level of the Dior or Valentino bottles, but it's more than acceptable. Congratulations to Zara. I hope they develop many more quality scents than this 9.0. I would rate it 8.0~8.5/10.0 overall, which means it's a fragrance I can recommend without hesitation. My opinion: The low price (€9.0~€12.0 for 100ml) plays an important role in my overall assessment. I prefer to wear Valentino Uomo Intense or Dior Homme Intense. But I see no reason not to have a pair of Zara 9.0 as a backup or for travelling. I recommend it to any lover of Iris men's fragrances. At its price, you can buy it blindly without any regret. Zara 9.0 is really good. Borderline great even. It is different from the more Dior Homme smelling Zara For Him (there has been a newer juice that is much different), so you don't have to worry about an overlap between the two. Zara For Him is more on Euphoria Gold Men side than Zara 9.0 is. I actually find that Zara 9.0 is more Valentino Uomo than Armaf's Futura La Homme. Armaf Futura La Homme is a GREAT Dior Homme alternative. I got 9.0 after my bottle of Futura La Homme broke at the neck during a fall. And even that is only due to iris gourmand overlap. Valentino Uomo has a similarness to Zara 9.0, minus the hazelnut and the iris instead of being a background accord is full gear on 9.0. Zara 9.0 is really interesting as it does not have overt gourmand notes. The closest is the amber note which can be sweet. That said, the star of 9.0 is the orris/iris, like many Dior Homme fragrances. The iris permeates throughout. There is some bergamot and coriander in the open, some pepper and cardamom in the mid and a base with a heavy amber. No coffee, leather or hazelnut notes like the others. Zara 9.0 works pretty well though I don't think the juice works in summer and high heat. If you want an iris to work in summer, Armaf Futura La Homme could and Dior Homme Eau would work. That said Zara 9.0 can work in many different settings. Zara 9.0 performs really good. It projects moderately for about 2 hours but lasts 8 hours on skin. I wore it this night and my father who was around after I wore it, he picked it up. That said he did not give a positive reaction like with many fragrances. Zara 9.0 is somewhat unique in the iris gourmand/kind of gourmand fragrances. Zara 9.0 is an 8.7 to me. I love it and it is a suitable replacement for my smashed Futura La Homme bottle (even if it doesn't have the coffee vibe) and an alternative to wearing the potentially discontinued Valentino Uomo as often, but I still think Uomo and Futura la Homme are both better, with Uomo being more unique due to the hazelnut.

I recently bought a new bottle of this after my first one, from 2016 or early 2017 if I remember correctly, was finally used up. I compared the last couple of squirts of the old to the new bottle though and it seems to me the newer version is weaker and it seems by much. Could be a fluctuation in quality due to the cheapness of the liquid, but there have been several comments on this fact already (My batch code is 00490). There is no real difference in the general type of smell though, it is just weaker. It is still a decent clone of Dior Homme (2011) and less so Dior Homme Intense (even less Intense now, with the weaker batch). It is coming close, but of course it cannot really compete with the original. I use it frequently though, because I love Dior Homme Intense and I do not want to waste the more expensive Dior as a casual fragrance. It is so much better, that I keep it for the more special occasions. Here is a comparison of my 2016/17 batch to the newer 2019 (2020 bought) batch: Value of 9.0 (2020) compared to 9.0 (2016) in brackets: Smell: both 8/10 Longevity: 7-8h (10-11h) Sillage: moderate (between moderate to heavy) Projection: weak to moderate (between moderate to heavy) These values are still pretty good considering the low price tag! Conclusion: 9.0 was really good at its initial release as a Dior Homme DNA replacement and now has been dialled back. But I would still consider it a good replacement, so you do not have to waste the expensive juice, in case you just want to smell the Dior Homme DNA on yourself. Especially with Dior Homme 2020 being a completely different scent to the original Dior Homme, this becomes an interesting potential buy.

for me is very close to dior homme, zara 9.0 doesnt have the nutty-cacao note of valentino uomo, at least to my nose. for me this is a slightly fresher version of dior homme. 9.0 is a bit more fruity and younger, very pleasant and it doesent smell cheap at all. yes u can feel that 9.0 has not the same quality of the famous competitors, but for 12 euros u can be only happy for what it gives! on my skin dior homme has a better performance, but 9.0 is bit more versatile and u can overspray without care. in my opinion is an all-year frgrance, maybe is not enough potent for the winter. for 20 and up, any occasion is good for 9.0 expept from the gym or sport activities. price/quality ratio damn good! un profumo simile a dior homme, sembra migliore rispetto al costo, certo non ha la stessa qualità del suo rivale ma per il prezzo è un affare. scent-8,5 long-7 sillage-7 versatility-8,5 uniqueness-6 bottle-6 compliment factor-7,5 my vote-8 in one word- bargain alternative- dior homme

Fragrance -9.0 Zara Bottle from - 2017 He's got that cuddling and a bit romantic vibe going on. 9.0 is a playful,spicy,ambery,woody and seductive interpretation of iris with a nice touch of aromatic juniper and with a wisper of a bit earthy vetiver.It has some similarities to Dior Homme by Christian Dior. Longevity - 7/10(6-7 hours) Silage/Projection - 6,5/10(moderate projection for the first 1 hour,than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent's evolution) Weather -best in autumn,winter and early spring. Age - 18+ Compliments - 8/10 Scent - 7,5/10 Main notes according to me - orris(orris is the root of the iris flower),amber,cardamom,cedar,bergamot,juniper,vetiver. The drydown is woody,powdery and ambery and I get some -cedar,amber,spices and vetiver. Emotions - intimate nights,cuddling,romantic,seductive,playful. Occasion -perfect for date,romantic evening and intimate nights. This is another nice relese from Zara,there is no question about it.

I'm hard pressed to agree that this is a Dior Homme clone. It has some notes, but really doesn't smell anything like Dior Homme although i agree they are in the same genre. There is no lipstick vibe at all in Z9. I do understand the V.Uomo comparisons as there are more notes that come across as the same. I have DH and Z9 on my hands right now and there is no comparison side by side. In fact Z9 reminds me more (a little) or Prada Lhomme Intense because of the corriander/floral mix...no where near as intense as PDA but the notes are in there. This Z9 is really versatile. It has a slight leathery feel with just the right amount of spice and sweet. Can be a worn with a suit or dress down casual, generally happy mellow guy who isn't trying to make too much "noise' . I like it....I might start wearing this a lot. Its only $19.99 off the ZARA website for 100ml.....that is outrageous. Lasts about 2-3 hours before a new application to keep a modest sillage.

Probably the best Zara fragrance ever period. I love Valentino Uomo, it is something I used in the past for my personal pleasure and not because I was looking for compliments or something, and with less than 10 euros I don't need the original anymore. A bit synthetic in the opening but once it settles down smells very rich and complex, almost niche quality. Really good longevity, if you spray it on clothes it will linger for days, sillage not bad at all, it will project nicely for 2-3 hours and it is detectable even when it sits closer to the skin. Yes it is sweet but not cloying, I used it many times on summer evenings and none complained about it, on the contrary people liked that warm mildly-sweet cloud around me ( as long as you don't overspray, I think 4 sprays are good enough for summer occasions ). And the bottle ?! I love that dark amaranth color, it recalls perfectly the mood and vibe of the fragrance. I will get a back up bottle asap.

Had a sample of Dior Homme and tested multiple times Valentino Uomo in perfume stores. Those 2 and Zara 9.0 are different fragrances. Sure, they have similar vibes, but the Zara is a fresh-spicy iris, Dior Homme is a dry cacao iris and in the Uomo you can feel the intense roasted nuts that give it a somewhat iris vibe. Zara 9.0 from what I notice is a it's a fresh-spicy iris, that loses its freshness after 30mins-1h and in the final becomes an ambery-woody iris. It's earthy all the way. I think I can wear this all the time, maybe less in extreme heat. Performance is more than you can expect from an under 20$ fragrance that also smells very good: 6-7 hours of longevity with moderate projection in the first 2 hours. Glad I have this and if you want it you want such a thing - go get it as Zara has the habit of discontinuing fragrances very fast.

Freaking hell, this is a masterpiece!! And it is 98% copy of original Valentino Uomo. It has the exact same smell, just on top of that Valentino Uomo you put gentle iris touch from Dior Homme line. You get VU with gentle iris which is subtly there through life of the fragrance. Essentially, this really is Valentino Uomo with Dior Homme iris. What more can you want. This has class and it is the best frag from what Zara is offering. Lasts quite a long time, about 5 hours for a frag. Projection 3 hours with some more sprays. Cheap but quality is up there. If you put Valentino Uomo and Zara 9.0, no one could tell which is which. In the air, they are the same. In the air, this feels super classy, date night appropriate and alluring. Definitely almost the same quality of Dior and Valentino and I can't imagine how Zara pulled this one off.

Yes it's a lot like Dior Homme. I haven't tried Valentino yet so I can't say much about that, but given Zara's tendency to replicate designer brands I'm sure there's a similarity as well. This is a great winter time scent. It's an Eau du Toilette so it's not so potent and doesn't have much longevity but it makes up for it with the inexpensive cost. It definitely has a spicy opening and settles to a more earthy/musky base. At 19.99USD it's worth it to give yourself 5-6 sprays to make up for the lack of potency. EDIT: I tried Valentino Uomo and the scent is exactly like Zara 9.0. I also was in Zara recently and noticed they are rebottling this juice in a clear bottle now called ZARA CLASSICS 9.0 EDIT 2: I started using this again and take back what I said, the longevity is quite good at 10 hrs but still the sillage is not strong

Recently I've been obsessed with iris/orris fragrances and this was definitely a great find. I love my Dior Homme and Zara 9.0 is a bit similar, but has more sweetness to it and the orris note isn't perhaps as strong. Overall it is still a very beautiful scent, albeit not as complex as DH or Valentino Uomo. For the price (I paid around $25 in a Zara store) it's definitely a fragrance worth picking up. My only disappointment comes from the performance which doesn't seem to be more than a few hours (testing in winter/early spring). Either that or it's anosmia, I will definitely keep wearing it. edit: after more testing, the iris note pretty much disappears after around 1 hour, at hour 3 the fragrance becomes a skin scent for me. I definitely wish it had better longevity, but at 1/5 price of Dior Homme it's not that bad.

An excellent Zara fragrance that opens up really gourmand, with that ambar and cardamon. Kind of smells like a nice bakery at first, but also very manly. People say it smells like Valentino Uomo, which kind of resembles it, but it just doesn't reach that level of quality, in my opinion. It is very good, very manly (men over 25), but also kind of gives that synthetic tone to it, which was not present in previous Zara fragrances, like Tone Indeterminée (a favorite of mine). I clicked the "I love" icon because you get a really good fragrance for your money. I mean, it's only 12,95 euros alone, 17,95 if you get it with 8.0 (another great one). Longevity is good (around 7-8 hours), and sillage very good as well. And finally, the bottle is beautiful, I love that passion red. But no, it's not Valentino Uomo. 7.5/10.

I really haven't had much business to Zara stores before discovering the colognes. They are really affordable and for that reason good fun for a beginner fragrance enthusiast. This one caught my attention because of the similarity to Valentino Uomo and Dior Homme which both have been waiting on my want list for the summer months. This comes really close to both of them. The first sniff of Dior Homme was almost like love at first smell for me. With that first impression I had with Homme I think this lacks the floral, cucumber style of freshness that Dior Homme has. Still I tried this last weekend side by side with Valentino Uomo and after the 9.0 dried down, I didn't have much complains. It's not the exact same smell, but it comes pretty close and performs well. For me it's a perfect bargain.

This wasn't my first perfume but it was how I discovered Fragrantica. After I found it was a dupe for Valentino and Dior, I became more interested in fragrances in general. It's been years and I still wear this one consistently! I think in some ways it's better than Dior and Valentino because it's brighter and more fresh, making it more versatile and unique. But let's be honest it does follow the same waxy iris profile of both. For a $20 fragrance this is long lasting and a great value. What I love about Zara is that they allow people to obtain and enter the world of fragrances without paying higher end prices. I still have about half of my bottle left and once it's done I'll have to hunt down the newer version, the clear "CLASSICS" bottle with pink juice.

75% Dior Homme with 25% Valentino Uomo Intense. This fragrance has just a little bit more Bergamot citrus/freshness on top. The best DH or VU alternative on the market, and for the price you can't ask for a better product. Someone who hasn't smelled DH often would have no idea you aren't really wearing it...it really is that close. I don't think this was made to actually be a clone, but it is dang close. This is a great option to be your daily wear during colder months so that you can save the more expensive DH and Valentino for special occasions. The only downside is longevity, which is about 5 hours - about half the time I get from the others. This is my first Zara fragrance, and although the scent isn't as deep/heavy, I am very impressed.

What a pleasant surprise from a low-budget perfume! I own Dior Homme Parfum, and I just got a decant from 9.0 Zara--reportedly, this smells like original Dior Homme, which is very different from the perfume version as it is more citrusy and much more casual. If this delicious-smelling EDT is a clone of Dior Homme, I guess the original creation by Olivier Polge must smell beyond extraordinary; now I can see why it is considered a masterpiece! 9.0 Zara offers low to moderate projection and 6-hour longevity, which is outstanding considering the selling price. This may be a good choice for dating and clubbing. Rating: Fragrance: 10/10 Longevity: 7/10 Projection: 6/10 Price-Quality Relation: 9/10 Average Score: 8/10

What a fragrance... For those of you who thought that Vibrant Leather was the best Zara fragrance, you must definitely try this one. It's basically iris with something more but it doesn't reach the point of being overwhelming as it could happen with Dior Homme Intense. And even though it's considered a winter/autumn perfume, in my opinion it's not as heavy to use it during spring/summer warm days, for me it's very versatile in that sense. If you are looking for a lighter version of Dior Homme Intense, this is your perfume. By the way, try to not listen to those people who think that a Zara perfume is crap just by the fact of being from Zara, you are missing some really good fragrances at an unbeatable price.

dsyben - The thing about Zara is that it often has the opening and the heart the same but not the dry down, so it is never like a 100% copy nor do it needs to be. i mean, I love some of their frags just because of that... because I can't stand the dry down of some frags yet I love the middle and the opening. What's the point if it was totally the same. I'd buy original Valentino Uomo or DH then. I love when they are so so close but a note or two are different. For example, i love Invictus opening but I simply hate the dry down. Zara has this Blue Spirit. Lasts quite a long time, opening of Invictus but it has more... leathery creamy dry down which i simply love. So that is why I choose BS over the Invictus.

I’m gonna be 100 percent honest. I had a door homme dicant man it projects nice strong and just flat out beautiful. I was around family and they discretly asked me what I was wearing. You know that face they make when it just smells good and they like it and take a quick discrete sniff to smell it over and over again? Yeah that’s what they were doing. Zara 9.0 smells just like it but softer. You have to get close to smell it. I can smell it but I have no clue really if others do also. I really didn’t get reactions from anyone although I would smell it on me. Give it a shot I got 8.0 and 9.0 for 30 bucks both were 3.4 ounces. The equivalent off about 15 each. Not bad at all
