A Night Fragrance

The idiots have sprung into action. This scent isn't feminine and doesn't have terrible longevity and projection, and some of the perfumes from the "reminds me" section are laughable because they have nothing to do with this composition. Someone really doesn't like Zara. It's a more masculine woody amber fragrance with a strong presence of pepper and clove in the opening. Not too far from Comme des Garcons Blackpepper and other peppery scents, but it's not a dupe for anything. I will describe more impressions later. 8/10

A somewhat stripped down version of Zara Woodstreet. Heavy warm spices upon initial application, slowly turns into an inviting cedar scent with light smoke. The base reminds me of Moncler Sunrise Pour Homme.

On first wearing this reminds me of Stash, but without the incense. It's a love!

I like it, but it’s very subtle (at least on my skin). I use it as a perfume enhancer, and it works especially well with Kenzo Eau de Toilette Intense if you want to give that fragrance a fall-winter touch. I also layer it with Eau Rihla, where it blends nicely by amplifying the peppery-leathery notes that Eau Rihla already has. What I appreciate most is that it doesn’t have the overly synthetic, spicy “classic Zara” scent that many of their perfumes share.

Warm spicy, woody fougere. Can't call it a real "barbershop" scent since there are no citrus or resins here, but the spices and herbs are very prominent, alongside the "cashmeran" synthetic molecule providing some of the "pencil shavings" sensation. Overall, it reminds me a lot of Proraso Wood and Spices - less refined and slightly denser composition, but pretty much in the same ballpark. And given the Proraso is dirt cheap, not sure why would i pick the ZARA between the two. Another ZARA that looks more interesting on paper than its on the nose.

Heavy on the cloves! I've been testing this today and wow cloves cloves and more cloves.. I love scent that has cloves but this is almost overkill.. Maybe its the black pepper that makes the clove note stand out.. I find the opening to be a bit harsh.. On the dry down it evens out alittle more.. becomes a little on the sweet and smoky side.. Its very interesting.. text this before you buy.. longevity seems pretty good on this one.. Rating 7.3/10 Its okay

1. I love cloves, and this is cloves on absolute steroids in the opening spray. Clove heaven. This is a linear scent: cloves and pepper on an amber base with a soft cashmere fuzz. A great big wallop of iso-e in the blend as well. 2. As an owner of Marc Jacobs Bang in the early 2010s, while this is in no way a 1:1 clone, this smells similar to Bang and, in my opinion, is the closest fragrance anyone will find in 2025 to the now long-discontinued MJ Bang. I also smell the CDG Black Pepper resemblance with this still definitely being its "own thing". Much like MJ Bang, the pepper note fades significantly after the opening (the cloves keep humming along), and it's in the dry down that this scent then bears some resemblance to Bang. 3. I stay away from mall brand fragrances (Zara, Banana Republic, etc), not from a snobbish POV but because 99% of them tend to smell like overly synthetic, toxic messes with awful longevity. This one is different, the overall quality of the ingredients in this bottle, while not being anything special, feels like a slight step up from the usual Zara synthetic slop-tier. Also, the longevity/performance is great, I get an easy 7 hours, and it's not a skin scent. 4. This smells more masculine imo, but wear what you want. 5. The marketing on this is weird. This is not purely an "evening/date night" type of fragrance, as it's named/marketed. It wouldn't feel out of place wearing it during the day at all. 7/10

An intense clove note in the opening, then it settles and becomes clean-spicy, kind of airy or "abstract" perfume. It has an artsy or alternative vibe but it is smooth and clean and safe at the same time. I could see an art school student liking this. It's very different compared to what you usually get from Zara or traditional designers. This one feels more niche in the sense of smelling unique. Also the bottle and the cap are very nice and feel high quality. Performance is average, it is not a loud projecting fragrance and lasts a ok amount of time if you think of it as a freshie for the day to wear at school. Ignore the name "A Night Fragrance", this is much better for casual, inoffensive daytime wearing. I advise you use something darker, sweeter, more intense or just in general more daring for wearing at night. I will not be getting it because to me it lacks something special that would make it shine or grab my interest. But I think it would be great for some people.

Finally on Fragrantica. I've been using it since its release and can confidently say, it's one of the best black pepper scents on the market and at that price point it could be the best. Zara's Origin collection is yet another one offering very good perfumes. A Night Fragrance is dominantly Iso E Super, Cashmeran, black pepper and clove bud oils. It's comparable to CdG Blackpepper (minus the captives) but more so to Marc Jacobs Bang IMO if it would have an elixir flanker for winter. It's simple, refined, and lasts easy all day and even more on clothes, as expected. If anyone comes here and says this doesn't last has surely lost his/her receptors to muddy nuclear florals, gourmands or woody ambers. It's a 10/10 fragrance if you like black pepper and clove type spicy scents with peculiar musky and woody warmth of Cashmeran.

I bought this as a dupe for Dior New Look 2024 - not a fan of ZARA, but I wouldn't never spend the money on the Dior fragrance.

Amazing fragrance. Very unique, strong, addictive. This series has some outstanding perfumes.

Pepper in the top, cloves in the middle and B-512 in the base. My Zara favorite.

This is a good scent, but does not smell like Poivre Samarcande at all.
