Amber In Bloom

I’m currently searching for a budget signature scent, so I grabbed this from Zara’s website out of curiosity. I thought I was a white floral hater but this fragrance made a believer out of me. The fragrance opens up with an intense bouquet of lush, carnal, creamy, and rich tuberose, narcotic, green, and slightly waxy jasmine sambac, and honeyed, tropical, and the slightly unripe banana facets of the ylang-ylang. After the open settles and becomes softer, the wet and green waxy leaves of the sambac is vibrant. Beautiful orange blossom is added to the bouquet. Usually, orange blossom pulls screechy grape soda & bubblegum on my skin (like in Killian’s LDBS), but here it is fragrant, floral, warm, and has a touch of bubblegum that is appreciated here. As the fragrance approaches the dry down, the amber has a vintage quality to it and is warm and resinous. The tonka bean, to my nose, starts as an earthy vanilla and transforms into a warm powdery vanilla. There is also an added vanilla note in here that reminds me of pure vanilla beans, scraped straight from the pod. The cashmeran provides a comforting, clean, and light woodiness to the second half of the fragrance. At this point in the fragrance, the white florals are subdued, but are still very present, and the honeyed ylang-ylang is at its strongest on my skin. Wearing this perfume is like being transported to a moonlit flower garden while wearing vintage cosmetic powder from large pink powder puff and a cozy cashmere cardigan. The flowers shimmer with dew under the moonlight and you deeply inhale the flowers during your stroll. I think this fragrance has enough going for it to become a signature scent for brunches or date nights. I also think this fragrance could be worn in all seasons, but I’m looking forward to wearing this in the summer. I also layered this with Blanche Bête and it was otherworldly. Highly recommend. This is the most unique fragrance from the Amber collection and it appears that this collection may be approaching discontinuation. I was able to grab 3 out of 4 of the collection’s 80 ml bottles on sale before they disappeared from Zara’s website. I may have to buy a backup bottle from resellers because this fragrance is special to me!

One of the most unique from the collection. I don't know if my nose is still broken from anosmia due to flu but I can smell a strong indolic tuberose, quite carnal and "breathy", enveloped in a sort of balsamic/camphorous accord (similar to the moth ball or minty smell of Cocaine's tuberose but much less potent, so much more wearable); the jasmine and tuberose togheter have that sort of graveyard's flower effect, a là flora mortis which I personally love. What I liked even more is the fact that at the same time the tuberose is bubbly, almost fizzy, and somewhat sweet, and those two characters are equally present creating a nice contrast between the gothic and playful aspects of flowers. A hint of something spicy tickles the nose in the opening, but I would not say that the fragrance is a full on spicy/floral. In the middle I can feel a coconut impression, something tropical, maybe even ylang ylang but no Alien jasmine, and a creaminess of sort. Dry down is of posh amber and maybe a little salty and woody (with a balmy twist, in this sense I see the connection with the masterpiece Alien Essence Absolue, but no more then that, no high tech jasmine or cashmeran base, nor it has the magical balsamic thickness of Alien Essence Absolue). On me it closes with a clear amd creamy cashmeran, but not potent like in the Alien line. I shall update my review after at least two weeks of use (my impressions could be totally altered by nose problems) but for now it is very good, quite special. Also, big bottle is on sale in Europe at the moment.

I was really curious about this one, and it didn’t disappoint. I like it a lot. Personally, I had definitely been looking for a tuberose fragrance, since I found that I enjoyed it in a shower gel and then getting a whiff out of it in the Black Orchid EDT. Of course, Black Orchid has so many other things going on, and I was looking for something that was a little bit more straightforward tuberose. Then I stumbled upon a review video on the Amber collection. Hearing that this one has a tuberose note definitely intrigued me to buy the discovery set. And I haven’t regretted it! This fragrance is definitely the more straightforward tuberose bomb that I was looking for! Of course the amber and cashmeran notes give it a depth that makes it a well rounded perfume, and not just like a single note scent, like you would wear a tuberose essential oil or something. This is definitely what I was hoping it would be. It’s giving of creamy, giving me a bit of a white chocolate vibe. Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I definitely do feel that me as a guy can pull this off – and that others guys would be able to pull it off too. I get why tuberose would be typically considered a “feminine” note. But in here, whether it’s because of the amber or something else, it almost has something about it that kind of makes it more rough around the edges.

Yes, it is similar to Rouge Malachite and also to The Only One Intense. For me it is somewhere in the middle between the two, less spicy and less deep than Rouge Malachite. Of course the quality of ingredients makes a difference,too. To sum up, not a 100% substitute, but if you like this scent profile, you will enjoy this. Another very good perfume from Zara. I like to wear it now in the summer heat, and it would be good for the colder months, too.

I have decided to write one review when I purchase the perfume, and one later, based on whether it grows on me or not. This is a very sophisticated, beautiful scent, sadly with no longevity and sillage. It is powdery, ambery, musky, with a hint of incense to my nose. I love it but I don't know whether I'll be keeping it whether to the terrible (in my opinion) performance.

Alas, if at first, I had almost ignored it, thinking it was similar to other trendy tuberose-centric fragrances, now I have to change my mind, mostly enchanted and bewitched by this white flower so narcotic, bittersweet, and mysterious. This fragrance needs time to give its rave. Amber in Bloom takes off with a honeyed, warm and citrusy accord, rich in bergamot and lemon peel, which blend with some mellifluous flowers and slightly spicy notes, definitely peppery but not to the point of inducing sneezing. The hypnotic and opulent tuberose note immediately rises, intense, mysterious, and recognizable among a riot of white and yellow flowers. It is adorned and dressed for the occasion, like a bride, slowly advancing towards the altar, with the Indian ylang-ylang acting as her bridesmaid holding her very long tulle veil. The floor is a carpet of Arabian jasmine sambac flowers. On the one hand, all these flowers give it a feminine aspect, on the other hand, there is a masculine thrust that makes the fragrance hybrid, androgynous, non-binary. I let a few minutes pass, giving time for the impetuous opening to settle, and from the heart, a velvety green note slowly peeps out that I associate with clary sage leaves, slightly incense-like, waxy, sometimes the sage releases such a resinous aroma, still so aromatic and delicate. The intensity and gentleness of the blossoms unveil a creamy and sensual facet. A smidgen of orange blossoms sweetens the heart of Amber in Bloom, which gets stronger and more deep in time. It is safe, a restrained interpretation of tuberose, not too flashy or rotten, well blended with the jasmine, the creamy flowers, and sweet amber keeping them at bay. Amber In Bloom takes on a more woody edge as it approaches the dry-down, courtesy of the smooth and creamy cashmeran. Alongside the salty-sweet amber, powdery and resinous notes of vanilla and tonka bean become apparent, leaving a trail reminiscent of chalky, talcum powder. This fragrance is a vivid tuberose composition, suitable for those who appreciate heady florals but prefer a more subtle interpretation. If you like the chalky, talcum-powder trail, you’ll love this. Amber in Bloom is the epitome of carnal and sensual fragrances in the Chapter No. 10 collection, with its prominent tuberose, rich jasmine, and a slightly salty, creamy amber presence. It is ideal for evening and nighttime events during spring, fall, and winter, offering sufficient projection and longevity to be enjoyed for several hours. I wrote my honest review based on a bottle I have owned since October 2024 (BC 41310, PD 2024-05-10).

Yup, it's Rouge Malachite. Zara keeps trying to make this dupe formula work (Royale Tuberose scented oil, anyone?), and it feels like no one likes it, except a teeny number of us. It has that gorgeous dry oil creaminess of green tuberose that's so luxurious feeling, and turns into lovely spicier floral in the drydown. Longevity is good. It takes only 3spritzes at the neck and it hangs around you in a blissful cloud for 4-5hours. I layer it with Minerva (Maison Alhambra's Marfa dupe that I got for 19 eu), and I'm in dark, creamy tuberose heaven. I'm tempted to stock up for when they inevitably discontinue this because, of course they will. It's gorgeous.

This is spicy white flowers and it’s ideal for autumn. It’s a sharp blast of loud scent to kick off but it quickly calms down. Like most Zaras, it’s a distinctly fast reduction in volume - if you’re wanting a long lasting and loud scent, this isn’t the one. If you’re happy for it to linger quietly for a few hours under the radar, it’s a good choice. Almost like - but not the same - as Alien Fusion. That spicy tuberose and jasmine profile is delicious. A lot of fragrance for the price!

Harsh white florals and amber dominate the opening, creating a bold first impression. As the fragrance develops, it becomes softer and smoother, with tuberose taking center stage and adding a rounded, creamy feel. Longevity is moderate, lasting around 3–4 hours. It performs better on fabric, where it lingers longer, while on skin it fades more quickly.

"Amber In Bloom" is a nice and affordable tuberose scent. It’s not unique, but it is a well-balanced fragrance if you like white florals. I liked it immediately and decided to purchase it. However, after a few days, I started getting a strong carrot note, which I can't shake off. It's disappointing because I really like the scent.

I really wanted this to be a dupe of rouge malachite and unfortunately it is not. It’s not as dark and mysterious as RM but I am not mad about it. For me this is like Alien or RM and Tom Ford Soleil Blanc had a baby. I love both Soleil Blanc and Rouge Malachite and can’t afford either so this is great to me!

Creamy buttery white florals with slight fresh spiciness. It is interesting for sure. I like it.

It’s good quality. Not my style, so I will let it go, but definitely good if you like buttery, bosomy white florals like EL Private Cllection Tub Gard.

I was hoping this resembled only one intense or Ralph Lauren woman intense, as those two are very similar and one of my all time favorites - especially Ralph Lauren, who’s sadly discontinued in Norway. But, it’s more in the veins of the opening of memo Marfa/Maison Alhambra Minerva/Georges Rech French Story - this dirty earthyness. There’s no note of pepper, yet I do smell it. I don’t know if it’s how it works with my skin chemistry, but it just comes off too spicy/incense pepperish and it doesn’t go away. I layered Armani My Way on top of it in hopes of silencing the spicyness and it did work, but then I was left with smelling like a bubblegum, instead of a sophisticated creamy tuberose heaven. Nope, can’t suit them all I guess. I need to hunt down some bottles of Ralph Lauren’s instead.

Got her in a bundle... she’s nice but most amber & especially jasmine is simply not my cup of tea... this is quite full, tested - not picky about a swap a Zara vanilla (NOT supreme ... I have her & I can’t Dec whether I love her or hate her) ... also have Amber in Satin that I would part with as a bundle for Zara, an Arabian, a partial ... open minded - cannot do ambrox - it causes complete anosmia & sinus pressure in less that 3 mins - whether or not it’s listed in the note breakdown &/ or ingredients - cloud doesn’t speak of ambrox anywhere!

I'm very disappointed as I was hopeful I would get RM dupe. I get The Only One intense comparison, it also reminds me of Alien Goddess, more tropical version with Ylang Ylang. Still it lovely and worth it. EDIT:I do get RM. when you smell it up close it does have a green and little harsh note . It is minty. I don't know if it is tuberose or something else. Crazy longevity and projection, no need to waste money on RM. Wish I found it sooner.

Never smelled rouge malachite but this is sooo pretty! I really like my way but sometimes that bubblegum tuberose can get screechy. This is blended very smoothly and it’s more a creamy tuberose. So so lovely! Smells very feminine and the dry down is more vanilla. An easy reach!

I can't believe this Amber collection didn't release in Canada. Shame on Zara because it was on their website for 3+ months saying "coming soon".

One of the best dupes for my discontinued gem Mugler Alien Essence Absolue! Must have for the price!
