Amber Linen

You should try this one! This is very delicious. The bottle is very nice. Cap feels kinda cheap but bottle looks aesthetically pleasing. I get the caramel and it's sort of creamy and coconutty. Warm and sweet. When it dries down you get the sandalwood mixed it and it just blends so nicely with the sweetness of the caramel. I don't really get the citrus. It lasts longer than other Zara fragrances but the sillage is not that big. On clothes it lasts forever. I look forward to wearing it this winter. ;; Yes yes yes. Try it if you can, it's Zara so it's not too expensive and you get a big bottle. 8/10

It’s def Bal d’Afrique! Few years ago there was a Zara Home frag: Tonka wood by Jerome Epinette that was a cheaper “version” of Byredo piece. And now i think Epinette comes again:) The frag is very nice, creamy, huggable and not a simple dupe. Sillage is not too big but ok, but honestly i dont prefer clouds of frags tho. Longevity is nice, 6-8 hours on my skin. The price is funny, so i’ll buy a back up bottle too. Or two:)

Once in a while Zara come forward with a perfume which has amazing longevity and sillage. This is one of it! Very sweet , the caramel is basically the only note you get from this perfume, great for autumn. Too synthetic?!... well, maybe but i love it anyway. I got the same vibe from sol de janiero 71. The bottle is very cute.

Received today. I find this a sandalwood/coconutty scent, like one other reviewer stated. I do feel the woods/amber vibe as well. Opens with citrus...then the sandalwood/coconut/wood...then add ambery vibe. Love at second sniff!!!

It's absolute Byredo dupe - but for me, it is mainly because of the fig in it. And I smell the fig in Pulp. The difference between them is the presence of berries in Pulp and the sandalwood in Amber Linen. I love it!

Amber Linen is a pretty decent budget alternative to Bal D'Afrique. On my skin Bal D'Afrique is a very juicy, sweet citrus with creamy florals. The aromatic notes and vetiver are very subtle to me. In this way Amber Linen is quite similar. It opens with the juicy, sweet citruses that is reminiscent of Bal D'Afrique, but Amber Linen smells a little synthetic while Bal D'Afrique is very natural smelling. Amber Linen doesn't develop the same level of creaminess. It is a little more thin, with the creaminess being a bit more syrupy and sticky, likely due to the caramel. The aromatic and green/woody notes that make Bal D'Afrique more complex and interesting are completely absent here. I find those notes subtle in the original, but anyone that finds those notes more dominant will struggle to find Amber Linen all that similar. It is a simplified version, but a lovely one. Amber Linen is much more feminine than Bal D'Afrique, especially since it is missing the aromatic and woody elements. it is a pretty and casual scent, good for everyday wear. I love Bal D'Afrique in warmer weather, but Amber Linen gets a little to heavy and sometimes cloying in the heat. It smells lovely on a warm spring day, but on a hot summer day, I find it overwhelming and sticky. The performance is shockingly good, especially for a Zara fragrance. It lasts all day when I wear it, at least 8-10 hours. The projection is fairly strong for at least half of the wear, reaching beyond arms reach. Even well into the wear time it continues to project softly. The packaging is cute and simple. The shape of the bottle is pretty and the round cap is a reminder of the Byredo packaging without being too obvious. The pretty amber colour of the bottle, looks how the fragrance smells. I wouldn't recomment this fragrance over Bal D'Afrique or instead of it. The original is a superior fragrance that does offer something special for the high price tag. But if that price tag is just more than you are willing, or able to pay, this is a great simple version that gets you a couple of the lovely aspects of that fragrance.

Amber Linen is a sweet fragrance, which most prominent note is caramel. It also has citrusy notes in its composition which can be felt during its initial opening, giving a bit more power to the perfume. Projection and sillage are big during the first half an hour, but after that it becomes a very sweet and comforting close to skin smell for more than 6 hours. Think of amber, a honey-like smell, with a bit of a fruity touch to it, more specifically pear. It can be worn by men, but I think it leans more feminine. Daylight is better since it radiates kind of an "inoffensive" smell. Suitable for any age. I gifted this to my mother and it really suits her though. She's 70, but honestly could pass as a 55 year old woman. That bottle though... It is beautiful! 7/10.

For first, it was really strange but in time i started quite enjoying it. Burnt sugar & woody notes with some citruses too. Thankfully i barely smell the citruses but that little gives the composition a bit brighness. So i found it a really nice scent for a bustling, sunny october day, when i come and go in the town, and the colorfull leaves fall in front of the cafés and antique bookstores.The sillage not too good. And the longevity on my skin is weak-moderate, but on knitted wear it lasts for a day. So i like to wear it on my sweater & shawl/scarf. It's a cheap but nice brightly woody-gourmand.It's one of my favorite from zara, which always has a place in my autumn collection. The next target is Ebony wood.. :D

I can definitely see the comparison to Bal d'afrique, but I'd say Amber Linen is sweeter and has a strong salty(ambroxan?) note. Performance is amazing for the price, both in sillage and longevity

This is not a dupe or even a distant cousin of Bal D'Afrique, they really are nothing alike. Amber Linen has something sickly about it. I guess it's the caramel, it has a very artificial sweetness that doesn't work with the citrus notes. It makes for an odd concoction in my opinion. It is different and doesn't smell like your typical Zara fragrance so I can see people liking it but I found something about it quite off-putting. As far as I can tell this is discontinued now.

I've just tested it hand by hand with Bal d'Afrique and it's definitely not a dupe. There is some similarity here, but very distant one. The opening is quite nice, fresh, citrusy with some sweetness, but it dries down to a kind of sickly coconuty sandalwood base. I'm a bit oversensitive to the artificial coconuty and vanilla notes in fragrances, they often make me feel sick so I'm a bit on the fence with this one. It's definitely original for a cheapie designer fragrance, I think some people might dig it. I wouldn't say it's a safe blind buy, but for this price I have no regrets.

This was disgusting. It was true scrubber for me. Vey nauseating opening with odd dry down. Even though on sale it was absolutely not worth a single penny. Sent mine back

didn't gat any caramel its quite nauseating. Smells like a medicine don't recommend, I don't feel confident wearing this perfume.

Unlike Amiedora, I am actually mainly getting the citruses (mostly lime) and no oudh at all (which I don't think is listed as a note either). This reminds me of a lime and lemon custard pie made in a woody interior. That's based on just one spray on my arm about 2 hours ago, so I don't expect it to change anymore by now. Just got it, so need to play around with it more, but at this point I'd rather classify this as a nice room scent, as in perfect for a scented candle this time of year. Update: I sprayed this on the shower curtains today and it gave me Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue vibes.

Strangely didn't get any caramel from this at all. I am not fond of the caramel note anyways so it was a pleasant surprise. Though the composition can be considered summery, the smell hanging on wool sweaters is a dream in winter. If Tom Ford bottled this, we would be ecstatic. At this price point you should give it a go.

Please somebody tell me a perfume exaclty like this since this is discontinued 😭 It was the perfect perfume for me. It was amazing. I can’t find it anywhere online. Is this by any chance, like the other zara perfumes, a dupe for some other perfume? HELP 😢

Initially I wasn't crazy about this one after picking it up in the winter on sale. But now summer is here and if you enjoy neroli, you will love this in the high heat. Longevity isn't great but at that price point I'm happy to reapply in the afternoon.

It is very pleasant. Definitely smell the oud, no citrus and a bit of caramel and a bit sweet . Still testing it out so I can't say much about longitivity. I wonder what perfume Is this a dupe of .
