Angelic Vanilla

Baby & Toddler Bath Toys If I imagine something angelic, the purity, naivety and tenderness of a newborn comes to mind. “Baby Scent”, which is similar to the smell of dolls, smells of pure, good, baby skin, clean and talcum powder! Well, surely many of you have your eyes closed right now and are wandering in your memory in that dusty cloud that enveloped you as children? It’s a baby’s perfume, and it’s angelic. At the first test run, I had put this perfume aside, thinking that the presence of the almond aroma could create problems for me like its predecessor Hypnotic Vanilla, which I purchased and returned. Too much resemblance to #hypnotic poison, which I struggle with. When I got home, the scent took on those fresh, dry, slightly powdery, nutty undertones, which I assume are due to the rice notes. From research, I found that rice is almost odourless, except for the aromatic Basmati and Thai Jasmine varieties. Don’t think that the latter smells like jasmine since its name is due to its pure white colour. Therefore, I assume that perfume oil from one of these varieties has been added to the Angelic Vanilla fragrance, which makes it wearable and different from Hypnotic Vanilla for me. Sometimes it’s fresh, it’s bitter, it’s powdery, although it never becomes cloying. About Angelic Vanilla. At first, a gust of wind hits my face, quite alcoholic, tasting like soft rubber, talc and sake. I close my eyes, inhale and my mind flies to mini baby toys, soft animal bath companions, which delicately smell of talcum powder. It is a sensation that arouses powerful emotions, memories of childhood, of puppies, of newborns. You must like this aroma to fully appreciate its scent, as it will be the common thread of the entire trip. The alcoholic accord of sake, or Chinese rice liquor, vanishes after a few moments, giving way to a delicate almond blossom mixed with a creamy bergamot zest. Delicate like rice powder and butter, without too much nuttiness or spiciness. The Almond tree is now in full bloom in Southern Italy. At least those that are found in sheltered places are and it is a pleasure for the eyes and the senses. Their scent is subtle and sweet, similar to cherry blossoms. Soon, angelic vanilla enters the heart phase and a hint of a rose emerges from a dark, tart background. However, it is not a dominant or pronounced rose, like the one we can find in the Chapter No.8 Rose collection. Instead, the rose is somewhat obscured by the coalition of dusty rice and resinous myrrh. I like this myrrh, it’s not sugary and opulent as often happens in fragrances that use it. For example, I can’t stand the rich and resinous puffs of Mirra, it makes me feel nauseous. That starchy, angelic aura I feel could be the fruit of the rice starch, which I don’t think I have yet encountered in other fragrances I own or have tested. I’ve read that some people find it too strong and annoying, while I perceive it as pleasant on the nose, to my liking, intriguing and not at all disturbing. In the end, coumarins come into play, maintaining a sweet trail without invading the gourmand territory of cakes, puddings and biscuits. Likewise, the rice doesn’t smell like rice pudding. There is soft, warm wood, probably sandalwood or cedar, however, blond woods without smoky or leathery tones are soft and gentle. The dusty note of rice starch remains in the background, which is the signature of this perfume, along with unsweetened tonka and vanilla. Overall Angelic Vanilla is an intimate perfume, not at all brash or aggressive. Given the notes present, it should perform better, but both projection and longevity are moderate on my skin. Let’s say it performs well for half a day. It is healthy, and absolutely genderless, for all lovers of vanilla perfumes, and for those like me who don’t prefer gourmand vanillas. Furthermore, the powdery aspect I’ve highlighted several times is not what we get from the orris, for example, but something more sophisticated, dry, velvety, and starchy. Its freshness makes it ideal for the middle seasons, certainly autumn and spring, on winter days, but also on the cooler summer evenings. Layering Tip: If you have Mystic Rose I suggest you try layering them. You will get a perfume poised between hell and heaven, the devil caressing holy water. A chiaroscuro rose, the result of the fusion of the two roses present in the original perfumes, with dirty, musky, bitter and powdery facets. I’ll call it Angelic Rose! I’m expressing my opinion based on a bottle I’ve owned since February 2024 (BC 40162).

Idk, I’m reading reviews & this legitimately smells like MFK GFG to my nose. It may not be all the way spot on, but it’s very close. I don’t pick up any Cherry at all. I have Rose Gourmand, also by Zara, & while they smell similar, this is giving more of a smooth, warm vanilla scent. While RG has that musky rose vibe, & smells more similar to Roses Vanille by Mancera. The longevity on this one is insane. 12 hours later, & I was still receiving compliments on how good I smelled. I will definitely be getting the larger bottle soon.

A discontinued dupe for the significantly more expensive AG Vanilla Suede- a unique take on vanilla with powdery and creamy rice notes. It opens with warm, slightly floral vanilla and dries down to gentle almond lotion and steamed rice, which is more paper-like than gourmand. It's cozy and not overwhelmingly sweet, with decent longevity on clothing. It's a real shame that a lovely perfume like this was discontinued so fast- I really regret not grabbing a bottle while it was still on the shelves.

This is the love child of Gentle Fluidity Gold and Kenzo Amour. Is more vanilla forward than GFG, no Juniper and less rose, but powdery like Kenzo. It's a lovely, cozy scent and it's office safe. I gathered many compliments while wearing this. It radiates at arm's length and it is definitely not a longevity beast, but it is still present after 3 hours. I like it very, very much: 8/10

People are weird and i am definitely one of them. I adore wearing this in very high heat. Even if sticky sweet and dense, it's neither heavy nor nauseating nor head achy. I just Love it! I have a back up 100 ml bottle, my 30 ml almost finished and if I hear the slightest rumour they might discontinue it I will get 3 back ups. That's how much i love it!

Very unique take on vanilla. More of a night time fragrance, because is sexy but in an innocent way and not up-front. For me it’s a great transition from winter to spring. Has a beautiful rose-bergamot dry down without the vanilla/ myrrh note disappearing. I really love it also because of the longevity, it’s not bad at all

The more perfumes I sample at a range of price points, the more incredible I think this is for a cheapie. God knows why they discontinued it given some of the trash they're still selling. Edit: Merchant of Venice La Fenice is like a much more refined and beautiful version of this

I love to layer this with all my perfumes❤️❤️it can either make a unique scent combo or just br good by itself. I see what people are saying about a cherry smell, but I think it’s just the almond blossom. Smells like gentle fluidity gold from mfk as well. Glad I got this!!

I just happened to check the website and the full size bottle was back in stock. Mind blown because I refuse to pay $75-99 on eBay and only got around to picking up the 30ml initially. It’s shipping directly from the warehouse so not sure if they’re back in-store or not

If you love vanilla, this is perfect! It's an easy-to-wear, cozy scent that suits most occasions—VERY comforting! It's such a shame they discontinued it, as it's the best in the collection for me. Hopefully, it makes a comeback like some of the other fragrances have.

İ LOVE this. My fave zara perfume by now. İts actually really basic scent but has something special to it at the same time. Really soft and sweet but clean too. İts good for everyday wear and all year round imo. İts powdery on my skin such a good scent

Lovely, cozy vanilla. Good year round fragrance. Longevity and projection is fine, especially for the price point. It's kind of funny to me how most label this as "feminine". For me, this is a unisex scent, if not masculine leaning.

Why is this not to be found at Zara anymore? Already discontinued? Thank God I got an 80 ml bottle as backup but still... i has just been released this year. I think it's just out of stock. I hope, at least because I love it

It has become a love for me after 1st wear. Sweet and strong, it's nor just bare vanilla, very dense yet airy, unbelievebly good and rich smelling. Noone could guess this is a Zara perfume. Awsome!

This is gorgeous 😍 and doesn't smell like any of the fragrances in the "Reminds Me Of" section. This is really beautiful.

For me it was a blind buy from a secondhand shop after reading the comments here. As other people said when I first spray it or when I smell it from the bottle I do get a cherry scent. When it dries down it's not so prominent, though. As said before it does resemble the smell of vintage lipstick but to me also spiced/muled red wine (not the typical Christmas though). I am not a great fan of sweet perfumes, but since its longevity isn't great it's not headache inducing so far. I pair it with Jean Paul Gautier Scandal intense, so that the Rose isn't so intense. So far an interesting perfume for winter and Christmas season. If you only like powdery/soapy scents I wouldn't recommend a blind buy.

Tried this before looking at the notes and was shocked that there wasn’t a honeysuckle note. I can only assume it’s the almond blossom, but it really smells distinctly like honey on my skin. Nice, but definitely not a fav. Has moderate sillage and lasts about 4 hours. Saw people compare this to Kayali’s Lovefest Burning Cherry (and other cherry scents) in similar perfumes and all I have to say is “???”. Absolutely nothing alike on me.

At first I was confused why so many people compare this to Cherry Smoothie because I smell no cherries in it but now I think I get it - it's not about the cherries, it's because of the medicinal note they both have. On its own said medicinal note is too overpowering to me but I pair it with my Yves Roches Vanilla Bourbon body lotion (smells similar to Vanilla 28 by Kayali) and the combination is really pretty.

soft, cozy, creamy, floral vanilla. this one's beautifully blended! no there's no silage or stay power, but i dont mind that. as i've gotten older i've gravitated towards skin scents anyway :) and to those of you who are cautious about the fragrances you wear around others (bless you btw), this one is safe! i'll be wearing this to bed often :)

For those of you who like Zara Angelic Vanilla it is back again. Was very happy to find it on the shelves on Saturday. Not sure if it is back for good or just for a limited period, so bought 3 large bottles to last me

Unlike Hypnotic Vanilla (which to me smells too much like a vintage face powder), this was a nice surprise, it's sweet, very similar to Cherry Smoothie, but w/o the cherry and softer.

I don't agree with the comments. I get no cherry and it is quite strong, not a soft and cute fragrance. It is a bit too much. But interesting and definitely a dupe for MFK.

has a weird sour fruit/medecin? smell but i quite like it tho. can smell rose in the opening. longevity is good

This is lovely. It has something in it similar to BR 450. Not typical vanilla, but vanilla with a twist.

Soft and clean powdered baby bum and yes I do want to smell like that from time to time.

Scented body lotion perfume, sits super close to the skin. I sprayed it multiple times and could barely smell anything. The vibes are for me similar to Tardes, Byzantium, La Fenice Pour Femme - almondy body lotion. Luckily I could not smell the rice note, it makes me sick most of the time. So if you are looking for that almondy body lotion kind of scent you might want to try this but Tresori d'Oriente is stronger and probably less expensive.

Straight forward honey vanilla scent very boring powdery grandma scent which I usually like but not here. If you want to smell like watered down honey this is your girl.

It’s not bad bad there’s something in here that’s slightly “off” or irritating. Thankfully I only bought a 30ml.

This is an example of why you gotta test fragrances on your skin before purchasing. On the bottle it smells sweet, light, young, but on my skin the myrrh note was way too strong, I could not take it.

I definitely will not be re-purchasing this one. I love vanilla scents, but this was one of the worst combinations of vanilla with other things.

gentle fluidity gold dupe.. yikes..

this opens with a boozy vanilla and tonka, then i get the rice and almond. it's boozy, sweet, a bit plasticky. very synthetic. there is a sweet note that leans fruity. this becomes rubbery, yet also metallic. not enjoying it one bit.

It smells like micellair water and baby wipes to me.... I had high hopes for this fragrance because of the cute name but what a disappointment

I tested this fragrance at a Zara store, but decided against purchasing. I thought I'd add to the cherry/almond discussion. I was in line to purchase and decided not to. In the opening it smelled kind of like sweet baby wipes (which I didn't mind, surprisingly). And as I went along, it smelled like a lighter version of Cherry Smoothie in the dry down to me as well. It lasted about 2 hours until I could barely smell it anymore. Edit 2/5/25: I saw other people mention it smells like Gentle Fluidity Gold, and although I haven't smelt that, I do have the Barakkat Gentle Gold version ($20 on Amazon) and they smell the same and BGG lasts way longer.

elegance in a bottle, very fitting name 🖤 so glad i was able to snag this before it's gone. i swear this line is probably the fastest-selling collection in Zara because i've only seen this once in store and never seen it again! opening is a very strong ink scent reminiscent which then changes into a sweet rose scent before setting to a clean and fresh vanilla. same vibes as gentle fluidity gold but sweeter and less complex. this is a good dupe as it really does smell expensive. ➤ lasts 3-4 hours ➤ fair projection, strong scent trail ➤ 7/10 - straightforward dark luxe bottle one of the best releases of Zara that is less common and mainstream ✨

I just got it! And i read everywhere that everyone is comparing it to the MFK Gentle Fluidity, but in my opinion this one sits way closer to the Tom Ford Vanilla Sex for me, just because of the prominence of the almond, vanilla and the balsamic nots, which even if Vanilla Sex didn't exist, still are somewhat reminiscent to a Tom Ford DNA. PLEASE ID SOMEONE HAS THE TF AND THIS ONE, CORRECT ME IF I'M WAY OFF. But, i love it- even though it not very long lasting, on me a couple of hrs max😊

I think the notes listed here are misleeding. This perfume starts very soft kind of like baby powder then turns into Zara - Cherry Smoothie literally. Im very disappointed that the opening notes are fade away quickcly because its beautiful and would be a unique scent from zara...but who needs another Cherry Smoothie in their collection?! 😩 Longevity is quite good since i could still smell it on my clothes the next day.

This is cherry smoothie and rose gourmand's love Child. It's more like a cherry almondy rose than a vanilla perfume. Sweet and a bit powdery. A softer less intense and less juvenile version of cherry smoothie. Like a cherry ice-cream with amaretto and rose petals. The lasting power is bad though. Cherry smoothie lasts and projects better but this is way more subtle.

I love the opening of angelic vanilla but although there’s no cherry note, I definitely smell cherry and think the dry down is almost the same as the new cherry smoothy, which I bought last summer on sale. I do like it and the cherry in this one is softer and sweeter than CS. Protection is not great and it lasts about 2 hrs on my skin before becoming a skin scent🤔

I love this. The opening is a nice cute warm vanilla, but not very sweet. The dry down smells very similar to Tom Ford Lost cherry’s opening. Other commenters are comparing it to Zara cherry smoothie, which I haven’t smelled on skin, but it is the lost cherry dupe so it checks out.

I bought a bottle of this at the weekend. To me it smells very similar to ghost purity! With a powdery clean smell. I personally don't smell much vanilla tbh. But i do still really like it. It only last 2-3 hours iny skim but on clothes definitely long lasting.

Smells beautiful for the first few minutes but the sillage was so weak, I couldn't smell it much after I sprayed Sensual Vanilla on the other wrist and by the time I left the shop in 15mins. Angelic Vanilla pales in comparison to the Sensual vanilla.

Revised review: This is actually a dupe for Gentle Fluidity Gold by MFK, and because that fragrance smells near identical to Mancera Roses Vanille, I mistook it for that. Basically if you like GFG or Roses Vanille, this is a wonderful alternative.

This is vanilla myrrh, an odd but intriguing combination. The rice and musk give this a very powdery, and as the name suggests, angelic feel. edit: this is discontinued now, but I think korres black sugar is a good alternative scent

I really enjoy this one! It’s lovely. MFK GFG (which I love) vibes but I wouldn’t say a dupe by any stretch. Am letting it macerate as it’s from a new batch- hopefully develops over time to be a little stronger.

It’s a Cabbage Patch Doll head and that CPK doll is wearing Gentle Fluidity Gold. How you feel about it depends on whether you like doll heads (especially CPK dolls). As for me, I love it!
