Antique Brown

Angola Brown Cohiba Granite I was curious to know what was hidden behind Antique Brown, and the Google search directed me to a precious mineral mined in Central Africa. Antique Brown Granite, or Marron Antique or Cohiba Brown granite, is an eye-catching and luxurious natural stone quarried in Angola. Its dark brown colour, which exudes warmth and elegance and features a dark brown colour, characterises this variety of granite as the main shade, ranging from dark chocolate to warm, earthy tones. I notice the warm tone and the blue reflections, which, once installed, give the internal and external environments a touch of elite style and elegance. Architects greatly appreciate the dark shades that the material creates when illuminated by beams of light. ZARA perfume has nothing to do with it. There are no mineral accords in the fragrance. However, the elegance of this woody, amber scent and the juice's colour bind them. Antique Brown is in the same class as In case you were wondering if it resembles one of the recent fragrances released by ZARA, I can tell you that it can be placed in the same gang as Sand Desert At Sunset, Tobacco Sublime, or Spell Caramel, but not resembles or copies any of them, despite all being from the same oriental-spicy olfactory family. A boozy breath announces the fragrance, which carries drops of milky coconut and crumbs of creamy bergamot. You can smell the apple, a little unripe and acidic which I like - I'm not a fan of apple aromas in fragrances - different from the one we're used to Boss Bottled EAU DE TOILETTE, and a bitterish nuance slowly emerges which I associate with helichrysum and marigold, mixed with aromatic herbs such as marjoram or thyme, a little mint and a little balsamic. Maybe it's my sense of smell, but for the first few minutes after opening, I perceive the bitter smell of marigolds, that pungent scent that the leaves release when touched. Slowly selling a mixture of coconut and tobacco, sweet but not as sweet as Spell Caramel or Sand Desert. The heart reveals warm and sweet spicy facets. Honey and praliné are the sources of sweetness. The more it grows, the more generous, more comfortable enveloping it becomes, like most oriental fragrances rich in gourmand notes. The coconut has slipped into the back rows but continues to stand out with its milky features. And that bitter touch doesn't want to leave the scene and remains anchored to the perfume's heart. But it's not a false note and balances the sweeter notes perfectly. And here, salty, woody and slightly musky puffs announce the arrival of amber, which advances side by side with vanilla, a hint of gourmand but without exaggerating. The alcoholic trait I perceived at the beginning is now more marked, sweet, aromatic and smoky. It smells like aromatic pipe tobacco, here in the rum-flavoured version. I feel all the heat that this essence emanates, amplified by the temperature of the skin heated by the blood. Without doubt or hesitation, I can say that Antique Brown perfectly represents the autumn season, those days full of humidity at the end of September. Wearable during the day, it becomes more intimate if sprayed on in the late afternoon for a special evening, a social event, or a romantic dinner. On my skin, it performs better than #nostalgia blue, but it still lasts for several hours, and the projection is moderate and not annoying. Perhaps more pleasing to the masses, Antique Brown belongs to that current trend, spicy and gourmand orientals with praline touches like Angel's Share, just to name one. I base my fantasies on a bottle I've owned since September 2023 (BC 32200).

This is by far the most masculine fragrance I own and was a recent, unplanned purchase. I was on the hunt for an affordable, versatile winter fragrance for layering. Specifically, I wanted an androgynous scent that evoked a “dark academia” vibe—sitting in an old, university library with darkly stained wooden banisters, after nightfall, sipping an old-fashioned, little bit of frost on the windows...I saw this fragrance while perusing Zara and was intrigued by the name, and score! I found what I was looking for! This is a unisex fragrance that I expect smells great on most everyone. It leans a bit more masculine, but is a pretty light fragrance that lends itself to layering. Overall, I don’t think there are any offensive notes at all. However, on the initial spray, there is a screechy “cologne-y” thing that is way too masculine for my taste, but it completely mellows out on the dry down after about 5 minutes. There’s a pine-y brightness that comes through, but sweet rum and delicious tobacco notes dominate the dry-down and I absolutely love all of that. As mentioned in other reviews, the main drawback of this fragrance is its pitiful staying power. This stays for like an hour on my skin, but stays longer on when sprayed on clothing. You will have to reapply this throughout the day, but it’s affordable enough for me to feel okay about that. I have really enjoyed layering this with gourmand fragrances and especially love this under Zara Rose gourmand for a more feminine twist.

Antique Brown by Zara is one of those fragrances that feels a bit different from their usual line-up. It’s deeper, a little moodier, and has a much more "grown-up" vibe compared to some of their fresher scents. Right from the start, it hits you with warm, slightly spicy notes that feel rich and comforting. There’s a touch of sweetness in there too, but it stays well-balanced — not too sugary, not too sharp. As it settles, the scent becomes even smoother, with some woody and almost leathery tones coming through, giving it a nice, cozy depth. One thing I really like about Antique Brown is that it feels elegant without trying too hard. It's the kind of scent that works perfectly for cooler days, evenings out, or even just when you want to feel a little more polished and put-together. The sillage is moderate — enough that people around you will notice it, but it doesn’t scream for attention. Longevity is pretty good too, around 6–7 hours on my skin, which is great considering Zara’s fragrances are usually more hit-or-miss in that department. For me, Antique Brown is one of Zara’s better hidden gems. It’s understated, warm, and feels a little more "niche" than you'd expect from a fast-fashion brand. Definitely a scent I’ll keep reaching for when I want something simple but sophisticated.

I was looking for a unique, sweet, fall-winter fragrance and was pleasantly surprised to find this one for such a great price. Very gourmand; vanilla and praline are very obvious. Fruity bergamot and apple balance it out really well with a touch of freshness. It’s extremely sweet and gourmand but in a hipnotizing, appealing, warm huggy way. Not overwhelming at all for me and quite the compliment getter. It’s for sure unisex but it will shine to it’s fullest on a man. Sorry. Colder weather only or spring nights please. Performance is also unexpectedly great, even better than some designer, popular fragrances. On my skin, fragrances don’t really last more than a couple hours, no matter how hydrated I am, however, it will stay on clothes for days, which lets you enjoy that delicious, sweet, ambery dry down. This is the best Zara masculine fragrance 100%, miles better than it’s often-compared-to sister Sand Desert at Sunset. This is a dreamy fragrance, an less popular gem. Has become one of my favorite scents for sure. I will be getting backups ASAP, I can’t risk running out of this one. 10/10.

This scent is very interesting. The opening is dominated by the sweetness of sugar and cinnamon, gradually giving way to amber and leather. Smoke also makes its presence felt. I did not detect any tobacco. Personally, I feel this scent is somewhere between ZARA’s Sand Desert At Sunset and Magnificent Black. The opening strongly resembles Sand Desert At Sunset, while the middle notes remind me of Magnificent Black. It is very well-balanced and intriguing. Although this description might suggest a very sweet fragrance, it is not as sweet as one might imagine. However, what surprised me was the dry-down. The atmosphere changes dramatically, and a ghostly floral iris scent emerges strongly. The closest scent I know is Laboratorio Olfattivo’s Nirmal, with an ethereal air that is exactly like Nirmal’s. It has an astonishing duality and is a very fascinating fragrance.
