Barbie

The world turned pink for a couple of days and I liked it! What a little divisive fragrance, it is a collaboration like many others yet people either love it or hate it, to the point of judging who, like me, bought it. Surely the re-selling game has gone too far with this one and I agree that although it is a beautiful fragrance it is not worth it to spend 100€ on it. Anyone has a different concept of worth, so who am I to put a price on it? Well, what I mean is that it is simply not fair to sell it that much when the starting point is only 22,90€, unfortunately is always so with limited editions, for instance...a Francesca Bianchi's bottle of 30ml Sticky Lips was proposed to me to the price of 250€ just beacuse it was limited edition, it is how things go. But enough about this debacle, how does Barbie smell? How does it behave? Is it Barbie enough? Does it smell cheap and juvenile? Personally I highly recommend it. If this is your genre and you can get it for a fair price I think it is a very feminine, girly and happy fragrance. It goes in to Barbie territory without being cloying or too much synthetic, and it is a pink fragrance through and through! On my skin it opens with a bubblegum effect of the pink kind, which dances around a strong neroli and candied orange duo. There is a gorgeous aromatic aspect in the opening, the neroli results tea like, powdery and a bit detergent like which I looove!!! There is a play between something fresh and syrupy, and this I think is the key to the succes of the fragrance: yes it is named Barbie, it is done by Zara and it is sweet but it is a grown-ups version of that, thanks to the play of different accords. I didn't observe any bitternes in the neroli or the opening in general, the orange is candied to the point of resembling sweet mandarin; the bubblegum character which operates in the back of the citrusy neroli is always on the background, it is not properly based on strawberry but it is quite close, and it is syrupy yet light and never nauseating. The fragrance, even having such refreshing opening, appears to be fit for a Barbie! The heart is made of candied orange blossom and rose, a declination very dear to me. In this case the orange blossom and rose are perfectly blended togheter in a lovely floral essence that comes forth as delicate on my skin, airy and ultra feminine, not childish or cheap smelling at all. I was expecting and fearing this part would be very sugared, to the point of obscuring the the carachter of the flowers so I was pleasantly surprised. The fragrance as whole is indeed sweet but, at this stage, the sweetness seems to come only from the backbone of vanilla which is warm and intense but not edible. I don't find anything cloying about the fragrance. More nuances are given to the flowers by a body of tonka bean that supports them with a sophistication of sorts. It is not a strong cumarin tonka, I think it is that type that is a bit nutty and a bit tosted in a light earthy way, at least at this stage. Some lightly fruity nuances are present in the rose note, and a vague, gentle muskiness floats in to the heart of the fragrance, reminiscent of light ambrette. The dry down however is where things gets really Barbie! From the flowers and particulary from the rosiness, the scent evolves in to a strong marshmellow based in vanilla and tonka; marshmellow is not listed as a note by the brand but to my nose it is unequivocally a strong component. In the dry down the vanilla transforms from a more warm and intense type to one that is very sweet, dry, almost edible and very airy, reminiscent in smell of that type of vanilla pod which one can buy at the supermarket to use it in pastry. Now the scent strongly reminds me of Rose Marshmellow Candy by Zara x Jo Malone, but less synthetic, more intense and long lasting. Something citrusy and fizzy is still present amongst the vanilla and marshmellow, something that could be defined as bubbly; this aspect and a lively powderiness is what majorly defines the texture of the fragrance in the dry down, while as a whole I would label it as airy and fluffy but still quite intense. True closure is given to the scent by the tonka bean which overbearingly returns, this time smelling more almondy (nutty) and like true confetti. A lot is being said about this fragrance in terms of comparisons, many say it is a "dupe" for Love, Don't Be Shy by Killian or some other fragrance on the same genre, what I can personally say about it is that Barbie by Zara is not a true dupe of anything I know, I think it has its own identity even while being part of an overpopulated genre; from the fragrances I know I think that Barbie has elements of Love, Don't Be Shy by Killian (the orange flowers and marshmellow smells almost the same but Barbie is less soft, more neroli based and rosy), of Princess by Killian (same tea like quality in the opening and similar base), of Oriana by Parfums de Marly (it is very, very similar but more fruity and less musky, same mandarin opening). This is a very populated genre, many other fragrances come to my mind, some of them I own in decants, samples or I have tested such as Candy by Prada (similar sweetness and tonka but less powdery), Guimauve de Noel by Parle Moi de Parfums (much more sophisticated, more sugary but similar orange blossoms), all the gourmands from Reminiscence have similar aspects, then there is La Stanza delle Bambole by Nobile 1942 (much more nuanced, different opening and mid but similar dry down), Sintra by Memo (same aromatic quality in the opening thanks to neroli and petitgrain but different texture and accords, and quality of course). The way the citrus are intertwined with the sugared florals is reminiscent of Meringa by Profvmvm Roma, Kiss Me Intense from Nicolai, and Oddore 'e Pastiera from artisanal Italian brand Scotti Sorrento. I could go on and on, this is a very prolific genre, suffice to say I personally find Barbie is its own thing. In between Zara fragrances I can say that Barbie shares the quality of marshmellow and vanilla (in the dry down) with Rose Marshmellow Candy, the orange in the opening smells like the sweet mandarin opening of Creatively Shanghai, the vanilla both in the middle and dry down is similar to the evolving vanilla in Memorable Aura, and the tonka in the dry down is the same of the one in Vanilla Violet Orchid, something is also reminiscent of the tonka and vanilla in Cherry Smoothie (I was fearing Barbie would be as cloying and synthetic as that one but luckly it wasn't so). I am not a Barbie girl and sure as hell I don't live in a Barbie world, often times I prefer melancholic scent and unisex fragrances, much more true to my mood and personality, and generally more elegant, but from time to time I don't mind smelling happy and being reminded of my childhood with fragrances. Sometimes, wearing them, I even manage "to be" someone else for a couple of hours, it is cathartic in a way...that is why I love the art of perfumery (and fashion and makeup) so much. However I must admitt I did fall prey of the hype with this one, the world just turned pink for a couple of days before the Barbie movie came out, between the beauty of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, that intrusive obnoxious Ice Spice x Nicki Minaj song, and the fact that until I was 15 father always bought me a new Barbie every Christmas, well I just succumbed to it and bought one. Opening it sure did feel like opening my new Barbie, even though the fragrance doesn't have that lovely plasticky touch (only the dry down is slightly doll head in my opinion). Lasting power is that good on me (8 to 9 hours) and so is projection, even in this heat. I don't find the fragrance obnoxiously sweet but I am rarely bothered by sweetness. All in all, I am a fan and hoping in a restock, so many people were left disappointed by the low quantity, in Italy it didn't even appear as in stock on the website that they already put the out of stock badg on it, it was never truly sold!

I have to say, the Barbie perfume and Sand Desert at Sunset (similar to Angel's Share) are my favourite perfumes from Zara. First spray is syrupy but also has a sharpness. When I say sharpness, it's like an artificial smelling bubblegummy tuberose but maybe a bit fruitier (I must be clear, this is not tuberose itself, I'm just trying to convey the impression these tart aromachemicals give). I wonder if it's the 'orange' notes. A marshmallow vibe is definitely grounding it. If I smell the perfume too closely after spraying, it sharply hits me in the back of my nose. In summer, I don't mind this, but I wouldn't be surprised if it bothered me in cooler months. This opening is what shows the fragrance's low price point the most - it can be harsh in a way that Oriana is not, for example. The more it dries down, the more the harshness softens and the sweet orange blossom-marshmallow blooms. The scent bubble is fantastic from this. At this stage it is similar to Oriana. It lasts well on me, longer than most of my collection does, and the scent bubble lasts for hours! Compared to Oriana (tested in store) - this is the closest fragrance imo, way closer than LDBS. Barbie is more bubblegummy/fruitier. Compared to LDBS (tested in store) - I wouldn't say it's super close to LDBS, but they are definitely in the same 'genre' of marshmallowy orange blossoms. If you like LDBS, you will likely like this more bubblegummy rendition. I feel there is more neroli here too. LDBS felt a lot softer to me and the tester bottle I used was a LOT weaker (although I would hear it would get stronger with aging). Compared to Prada Candy Kiss (owned) - I've not seen this comparison yet, but with owning both I see similarities and take the same opinion as I do with LDBS. They're the same genre of perfumes, if you like one you will probably like the other. There is a marshmallowy orange blossom aspect of Prada Candy Kiss, but it is more musky, soft and vanillic than Barbie. Candy Kiss has no bubblegum/fruitiness either. I find myself reaching for Barbie in the daytime and Candy Kiss at nighttime. I will say this is an excellent perfume for the RRP and I will cherish wearing it. But it isn't worth paying resell prices. If you missed out, I would wait to see if they bring it back. Sand Desert at Sunset sold like hot cakes too when it was first released and restocks were fleeting. But now it seems to be restocked and readily available in 2 sizes. If they don't bring it back, or you want one sooner, I really suggest Ansaam Gold as an alternative. If you wanted a girlier bottle, you could even decant it into a refillable bottle (which was my original plan to dupe Oriana before Barbie came out). From what I've seen, Ansaam Gold seems to be closer to Oriana than Barbie. But if you do get a chance to buy Barbie AT RETAIL PRICE, then I would say it is an excellent choice too!

I missed the launch and had to pay resell prices to own this but as a Barbie collector I couldn’t be without it, despite knowing there are cheaper LDBS dupes out there. I finally own both the Edp and Edt and here is how they compare: Barbie EDT : Light, fluffy floral marshmallow. Smells like a pink peep marshmallow covered in sugar crystals. The florals are noticeable upon first spray but the scent quickly settles down to its sweet fluffy vanilla base. Lasts about 4 hours and projects about an arms length. After the 4th hour it becomes like a skin scent and while I can smell myself I think others wouldn’t be able to unless they hugged me or stood really close. Barbie EDP : The opening is bright but fades quickly. The florals are much more noticeable, I smell the rose and orange blossom sitting on top of the vanilla and tonka. The middle is richer than the EDT version but the base smells the same. The perfume projects more than the EDT but isn’t suffocating and lasts about 5-6 hours. I never actually had LDBS but I’ve definitely smelled this DNA on other people before so it must be a popular scent that’s probably easy to duplicate. I mainly bought it for the Barbie branding but ended up loving the scent! Final thoughts : if you’re a Barbie collector I don’t blame you for wanting this bottle in particular. Both the Edp and Edt are good! I suggest just getting a few bottles of the edt instead of paying over $100 on the perfume from a reseller. However if it’s the actual scent you’re going after and looking for an affordable price, just get a LDBS dupe like from Dossier or Oakcha!

Oh.my.god. This is SO good. Like I wasn't expecting it to be this good but it is. The scent? Nostalgic. When I first sprayed it I was reminded of childhood. There is a whiff of something not unlike what it smells like when you take a brand new Barbie out of the box. The initial citrus vanilla, plasticky top note quickly gives way to development. And boy is it good. A warm cloud of tonka-neroli reaches your nose everytime you move. It LASTS. Especially on hair and clothes. I am really shocked that a perfume with so few ingredients and from Zara smells so complex, deep, invigorates the senses, improves mood. This is a perfume nearly for everyone. It would suit a young girl, even a tween. It would suit a mature lady. Instant mood booster, a sunray in a bottle, sweet but clean. The vibe is sunny, unpretentious, uplifitng, yummy, feminine, cute but not cutesy. I love it and will consider getting a backup on it.

This is such an amazing perfume! It’s light fluffy marshmallows, sugar and vanilla. It’s super sweet and powdery, not cloying and super feminine. It’s definitely how I imagine a Barbie smells, it’s even a bit reminiscing of how barbies smell when you get them out of the box. It leans on the younger side. However I am in my early 30s and I’m still enjoying it so much. It’s very long lasting, I can smell it on my self all day, and it sticks to clothing like crazy! Two days later I can still smell it. For me it’s super similar to love don’t be shy by Killian. However, I must admit that if I had to choose between the two, I would keep the Barbie one. Overall an amazing perfume, I’m saddened this is a limited release and that it’s already sold out in most places. I’ll treasure my bottle for as long as it lasts.

I Am absolutely obsessed, its everything I want in one perfume and it actually lasts all day on my skin and clothes. I keep getting whiffs of it throughout the day and I catch myself thinking ”oh I wonder what smells so good” and then I realize its me! I didnt even look up the notes before I bought it, I just walked into Zara, spritzed it on my arm and grabbed it within 5 minutes, fell in love instantly! I already know that Amber Florals are my usual favourites but this is a little more powdery than what I usually buy, which was exacly what I was looking for in my next perfume! So this will probably lead to more powdery perfumes in the future 😍 Edit: I’ve gotten compliments every single day that I’ve worn this by a lot of random people, colleagues, friends and that have never happened to me before!

I blind bought this scent, mainly because it’s barbie but also because of the comparisons I’d seen to Killian Love Don’t Be Shy. I think this scent is a cousin of LDBS, they share that same citrusy opening and caramel/fruity dry down but the Barbie perfume is a lighter version, I’d say this is almost a day version of LDBS/Oriana. That aside it is a gorgeous, bright and ‘girly’ scent. Great longevity, lasted around 7hours on my skin (this also layers GREAT with Burberry Her). And the projection is pretty decent, I got a few compliments when I wore this out the other day. If you’re a fan of fruity, caramel and super sweet scents you’ll enjoy this. It’s very much a spring/hot weather kind of scent that is a general crowd pleaser. Plus the pink bottle and packaging is beautiful.

Barbie from ZARA is much more than just a cute pink branded bottle. During the first 5 minutes, it has the exact same opening as Rose Candy Marshmallow from ZARA with this powdery orange blossom/vanilla combo. Then the rose comes up and it settles much more like LDBS Extreme from Killian, which is basically LDBS with rose water added. It also has the same citrusy/fresh touch as Sintra from Memo but not as green. The performance is surprisingly good, it lasted for more than 8 hours on my skin with a moderate sillage. It's not a beast mode fragrance, but you can smell it on yourself all day long. As a true gourmand lover, and orange blossom fan, I'm glad I grabbed this perfume and will probably buy a backup bottle !

The best perfume ZARA has ever released. That's the perfume I imagine Barbie wears. I was passing by a store and the employees were just displaying new Barbie products, there was no tester to smell, I decided to buy it. The next day everywhere said it was sold out. I have LDBS by Kilian and they are similar (because my sister can’t tell which is one) but Barbie Zara is even more super gentle-marshmallow-powdery. In the beginning comes out a delicate citrus scent of neroli, orange blossom then it’s tonka and vanilla that make the rose so powdery and gentle. A fragrance that lasts for almost 5 hours. For me, that's enough. You will want to smell it all the time.

Thank you @Princessy and all the others serious reviewers for your take on this. Pepole are s***ting on this for no reason. I will review it as soon as arrives! And basically anyone buys things because are pretty, it costs only 22€ afterall. If I want poetry in a perfume I buy Sorcinelli and Meo Fusciuni. If I want niche I buy Jovoy. What is so different between this and a 300$ bottles of some super chemical gourmands? Or even Killian for that matter...

This is a very pretty perfume. I get a lighter version of Mont Blanc Signature from the release, which makes me happy because Mont Blanc Signature gives me a headache. I can also see the LDBS reference here, but I think it smells more like the extreme version than the original. Maybe that’s due to the rose. I’m surprised Zara was able to create an accurate Barbie perfume. I even get a slight plasticky note to it. This one is a keeper.

The power of scents is truly mesmerizing. For me, this perfume was a magical door to my childhood. Every time I sprayed it on, I felt like I was reliving those beautiful days. The freshness of flowers was in this perfume. Wearing it makes me feel like I carry my past with me. The ability of scents to take us back in time is truly amazing. This perfume is like a time machine for me, taking me back to the best memories of my childhood.

These notes are for the EDP but imo the EDT is where it's at! The EDP is very LDBS/Velvet Shadow adjacent in the vast nest of Kilian clones and the EDT smells like a pink marshmallow PeepTM️ with a great bubblegummy topnote and a light LDBS base, it's terrific! If you love sweet, bubblegummy and gourmand scents and find LDBS to be a bit too strong neroli wise this is a no brainer, I just wish I had purchased a backup!

@Sayuri_ although FORBIDDEN PINK has almost same notes, they are not alike unfortunately. I have Barbie by Zara and others, like LDBS by Killian, Velvet Shadow, Oriana, soon i will try Ansaam Gold.So Barbie hits differently, it's mix where you can't tell it's LDBS or Oriana? Hope it helps. Also Lasting power, Barbie sits on me 7-8 hours where FP lasted 1-2 hours on me.

I really like this perfume. I recently purchased Ansaam Gold by Lataffa Pride and on the dry down, they smell IDENTICAL!! Sickly sweet creamy vanilla scent. I personally believe you don’t need both but I bought for nostalgic reasons. If anyone is interested I have spare bottles - PM me Update:- bottles have been sold! X

Zara's Barbie is what pink plushie unicorns smell like in the wild: cosmetic, powdery, feminine, slightly nostalgic... It reminds me of what Charmin toilet paper used to smell like in the 70's. Projection & silage are poor. But it's a guilty pleasure of mine and I'm on my second bottle.

Im very surprised i like this one. Performance is unbelievable for an edt from zara. Such a great cheapie. Not my usual style but its comforting, i cant see anyone hating on this, its pink and fluffy. So if this is your scent profile, absolute bargain.

This smells amazing! Sweet and powdery, it is addicting! I see the similarity to LDBS, but to my nose, this is more similar to Oriana, but not a dupe. I will need to buy a backup when it gets restocked!

Yes it’s branded Barbie but it’s actually a really good perfume for the princess. Fluffy vanilla similar to Oriana by PDM. I see a little bit of Princess too but without the tea. Soft vanilla, floral.

This perfume reminds me of Montale Pink Extasy but in a lighter version and more lively. Really really love it!! It has a little hint of LDBS in the dry down on me but just I tiny little.

EDIT : If you missed this one, go buy Forbidden Pink from Zara it's even better, as it's smoother, richer and the vanilla is amped up !

There's a new "Barbie Malibu" perfume on zara site! The bottle is orange and notes are still not listed. Anyone has smelled it yet?

It definitely smells like Barbie. Sweet, plasticky, bubblegum-pink Barbie vibes 🎀💅🏻 If it didn’t have that lemon note, I’d probably like it even more. The citrus kind of takes away that full-on “doll head” plastic fantasy 😁 I actually wish it leaned even more plastic and Barbie-like. The neroli and orange give it a slight hand-soap vibe, unfortunately. But overall, to me, it’s the definition of a Barbie perfume — pure pink, cute , playful energy 🍭 بوی شیرین و پلاستیکی ادامسی باربی صورتی🎀💅🏻 اگر لیمو نداشت من بیشتر دوسش میداشتم. این نت لیمو اون وایب بوی کله عروسکو ازش گرفته😁 دوسداشتم بیشتر پلاستیکی و باربی طور میبود. نرولی و پرتغال یکم این عطرو شبیه ب مایع شستشوی دست کردن متاسفانه ولی درای دونشو دوسدارم

I don’t find that it’s an exact copy for LDBS or Oriana! They’re both a lot more unique. This does have the sweet opening of Oriana but it’s not as nice- its more of a plastic orange smell, than a sweet grapefruit. On the drydown I definitely smell the similarities between this and LDBS. When it’s dry it also smells the same as rose marshmallow candy by Zara.

@Sayuri I have, I own the Barbie Zara perfume and bought the orange version to test, the scent is different from this one, and really doesn't last, whereas this edp lingers forever. There's also a purple version with blackberries Edit: No longer in my collection

Zara Barbie is so nostalgic to me! The best way I can describe this is to say it smells just like those Valentine's Day Candy Hearts! 💗 You know, those chalky sweet candy hearts in the little boxes. Zara Barbie is that smell in a bottle!

(I have a 2023 bottle) This is unapologetically girlie. The pink packaging fits the theme perfectly. Similar to LDBS and PdM Oriana. Lasts about 4 hours on me.

I love the Neroli, Orange Blossom & Rose. But I’m just not a big fan of vanilla so not something I’d wear daily. I’ve give it a 4 out of 5.

Powdery pink bubblegum, plasticky doll heads, sunscreen and Windex. I consider myself to be somewhat of a candy consœur and this is Bazooka and Double Bubble bubblegum. It's not the pink Trident, Bubblicious or Bubble Tape kind, no, it's more powdery and less punchy than those. It does remind me of Killian Love Don't Be Shy but LDBS is even sweeter and leans more Smarties/candy necklaces and less chemically. Well, that leads me to my next point.. I'm not a big fan of LDBS and am going to mentally check out whenever a fragrance gets compared to it from this point on because I don't really like this either. It's strange.. I love each and every single note listed but all of them mixed together gives me the vague aroma of Windex. This is a very sweet, chemically scent that I thought was sort of cute and fun at first but I got sick of very quickly. Impressive that they were able to capture a quite literal plasticky doll scent within this fragrance so I believe it has rightfully earned it's "Barbie" name. I love bubblegum and don't mind sunscreen but I'm not sure I'm also aiming for plastic + cleaning solution.

LDBS? Don’t make me laugh. This smells more like pez candy than it smells like Killian. It’s not unpleasant, but it’s not great. It smells like pez and freshly opened plastic doll head. For my money I would prefer hanae mori butterfly for the doll head vibes.

This is ok but it didn’t knock my socks off. Yes, it does smell like LDBS, but on me it also smells like a very light version of Armani Code. Must be the orange blossom.

Personally for me, I solely got this because the Barbie movie was coming out at the time. But looking back, if I had smelled this prior to blind buying, I would have never picked this up. Its opens with that strong neorli scent that I find nauseating and once it dries down, the orange blossom lingers heavily before it completely settles to its base notes. I think it definitely made me realize that tonka bean and orange blossom are NOT my type of scents. I heard that it smells just Killian Love Don't Be Shy so I would recommend it if you were interested in those perfume to see if it does compare and if youre looking for a cheaper alternative then definitely get it.

Barbies fan since childhood, so why not try this perfume... Cheap bubblegum, sugar and vanilla. Terrible for my taste. Too sugary, like cheap bubblegum note meets Aquanolina Pink Sugar. I like smell of bubblegum, but its done poorly here. Generally speaking I am not fond of Zara's perfumes, their clothes yes, but not scents. For younger generation. Reminds me of scents my younger sister used to wear, but not anymore, she's grown up now.

I have nausea and migraine from every LDBS or Oriana type of fragrance (like velvet shadow or any other dupe), including this one as well :c I think it's not the fault of this particular one, I tried to love this, because I liked the marketing, but had to sell it.

This smells like some nasty tasting and smelling multivitamins that I used to take when I was a kid. Didn't like them then and I don't enjoy the memory of that smell in this edt. Unfortunately it smells even worse than LDBS 😬😬😬 I ordered this online for my daughter but I will have to hide it or give it away because it smells so bad to me 🤢

Sold out en masse and straight to eBay marked up cos people follow hype. Sad times.

To my nose, the resemblance to Oriana, Love Don't be Shy and other cousins of these perfumes exists but it is not an exact dupe of any of them. It feels a lot more synthetic and lighter. Anyway, for me it is a masterful recreation of the idea that I have of Barbie. It starts with a lot of neroli, which is soon accompanied by a powdered rose and orange blossom. But these flowers float in a plastic and bubblegum sea, pink without a doubt. I close my eyes and can almost imagine myself playing with my Barbie dolls in my childhood's room. The vanilla and tonka bean background closes the perfume quite sweetly but I find it wearable at any time of the year, thanks to the counterpoint provided by the acidity of the floral part. Yesterday, for example, I wore it with about 37 Celsius degrees and it didn't make me uncomfortable at all. As for the sillage, it is moderate, and, as for its duration, about 8-9 hours on my skin, at least in summer, after applying generously. It is an informal and cheerful perfume that I like a lot and that has a good performance. It does not seem like a fragrance to use every day because I think it can get tiring but on the occasions when I have worn it I have enjoyed it. I'll wear it on those days when I want to run away to an imaginary perfect world and feel a little like Barbie. Smell 7/10 Duration 8.5/10 Sillage 7.5/10 Quality/price 8/10 Versatility 8/10 Packaging 8/10 Would I buy again? Probably, although it is limited edition

Well, the bottle is absolutely gorgeous, I’ll give it that. Pink, sparkly, and very much giving dreamhouse vibes. But the scent? Bit of a letdown and that’s coming from someone who loves an orange blossom gourmand. The minute I sprayed it, I was hit with a wave of nostalgia - not the good kind though. It instantly reminded me of those orange blossom scented disinfectants you smell all over hotels in Spain. You know the one: freshly mopped tiles, sliding balcony doors, and a faint whiff of bleachy florals floating in the air. Not horrible by any means, but not exactly something I want to wear on my skin. I wouldn’t call it a dupe for Love, Don’t Be Shy or Oriana either so if you’re picking it up hoping for a budget friendly version of those, you’ll likely be disappointed. It doesn’t have that same plush, fluffy sweetness or creamy depth. It’s lighter, more synthetic, and leans very “cleaning product chic.” Honestly? Wait for the hype to pass. It’ll end up on Vinted soon enough for a tenner - don’t pay silly money. There are far better orange blossom gourmands and actual Oriana/LDBS dupes out there that’ll give you the vibe without reminding you of a freshly scrubbed Spanish hotel lobby.

This was restocked in the USA and sold out immediately. It was also discounted to under $20. They also released a 50ml version, in different packaging, which sells for $13 and change. As of this writing the 50ml is still available on the USA web site. There are also a bunch of them on ebay at an average price of $70. I am not sure if the formulation has changed. Perhaps it’s weaker or watered down. I smell nothing after 10 minutes and nothing special when first sprayed with a slight marshmellow note. My boyfriend says it’s very faint, he can only smell it putting both of my wrists right under his nose and he said it smells like some kind of candy but not Pez. The price of the larger, original, bottle has dropped in price on resale sites for those who only want that. I saw one listed for $100 in a Google search. There should be more of them available too as a whole new group of people scored them on release round two. It is unknown if they will release a third round with another restock. Hope that helps! For me it was not worth the hunt or hype but your mileage may vary.

The best perfume release of the year 23. Marketing wise offcourse. Here in my country it's soled out online. I went to the nearest Zara store and there it was also sold out. I could get my hands on a tester bottle that was completely wrinshed out, not a drop left. I smelled the sprayer and I couldn't withhold a big smile. What an amazing perfume. I smelled a delicious strawberry, raspberry vanilla pudding or sweets. It smelled so childish but heavenly that I was catched for a couple of seconds in the artificial pink world of Barbie. This is a 100 % synthetic fragrance that is mass-produced in the Zara perfume factory (I suppose it's the firm of Puig), in co-op with Mattel. For perfume marketers this is thé example of a successful worldwide project. This has nothing to do with the art of artisan perfumery but the consumer is always right, not? Life is short and gets more artificial year after year. But there is nothing wrong with a little bit of fun in life 🧬. 🩷

There are wayyyyyy better dupes of love dont be shy or Oriana that last longer and smell better than this barbie perfume. People creating hype must not have love dont be shy or Oriana because those are way better than this barbie perfume by a mile. A better alternative is lattafa ansaam gold. It lasts so long, smells better than barbie and is a way better dupe if you are looking to smell expensive. Barbie doesn't cut it and lasting power is not great, save your money for the real perfumes or buy lataffa ansaam gold. I paid $25 for the lattafa so make sure you are not overpaying. If you want the real love dont be shy or Oriana they are half price on aura fragrance. DONT FALL FOR THE HYPE!!! Edit: Zara has so many love dont be shy/oriana dupes now so if you missed out on this dont worry. It's like they repackaged the juice and put it in a different bottle. Try ruby infusion or velvet shadow, those are similar dupes to barbie.

plastic-ky, lipstick-y marshmallow scent, definitely Barbie-coded! 🎀 this definitely smells like Oriana especially on the citrusy opening, soft marshmallow scent, and the vanilla dry-down. not really a fan of the citrus note but this definitely works in the beautiful dry down. i think what ruins the whole blend, tho, is the pastic-ky scent that's present throughout. not sure if that was a conscious choice since this is a Barbie perfume or a miscalibration. either way, this is not a fave but also not too bad! ➤ lasts 2-3 hours ➤ weak projection, average scent trail ➤ 8/10 - love the pink Barbie bottle the creativity on the box! this is what Barbie dreams are made of and what the color pink would smell like 🩰

@Sayuri_ I suppose they are very similar but maybe not exactly the same. Try looking at the ingredients on the zara website, the spot where it says "Ethanol, Parfum, Citronellol, Geraniol" and stuff like that and compare those for forbidden pink and zara barbie and you'll see, forbidden pink has the exact same ingr. that Zaras Barbie has, but also has some more.... like it might not really make huge differences but it seems like it's not exactly the same. Just as an example, Barbie doesn't contain Vanillin and Forbidden pink seems to contain a lot of Vanillin :o

@sweetiepup I am not sure what you mean hanae Mori butterfly smelling like plastic dolls ? I have it and I never thought that lol now I’m gonna have to spray it tomorrow and see if I can pick that up hehe I will say, when I’m Sephora over a decade or more ago my boyfriend took me to pick out a new perfume:) I was on state street in Santa Barbara and I swear I smelled EVERY PERFUME in there lol and Hanae mori butterfly stood out among them all! It had a Deep sandalwood sweetness that was so addicting to me :) the others all smelled “ the same” but not butterfly:)
