Black Amber

I bought Zara Black Amber for my wife. I did it because I was in the Zara store to buy a present for my teen daughter and decide to buy a new perfume for my wife just to please her. I choose this particular scent because I sprayed it in my skin and loved it. As I tried 6 different fragrances, I was a bit confused to notice any resemblance with any thing else. It was my wife at home that noticed that it as scent similar to The One by D&G. Yes it does remember The One, but perhaps a bit more fruity. My wife does have a full bottle of D&G The One but did not mind a bit of receiving the Zara clone (a clone like a beautiful cousin and not a twin brother) ZBA does have a bit less sillage and longevity, but my wife does not mind to do a bit of overspraying. On top of it the Zara bottle is really nice. Congrats to Zara. I hope they will develop other quality scents besides this one.

I have the one of D&G and this one. And they really smell the same in the drydown. The beginning is different. The black amber starts off with a cranberry start which i adore. I even like the beginning of black amber more than the D&G the one. I really don't get the many comments this being sour and weak? On me this smells define and lasts forever. Its a deep vanille oriental on my skin and i love it very much.

This is one of the most interesting fragrances I have in my collection. The notes within are pretty simple and common, yet they fuse and work in an excellent way. This perfume (although they are completely different scents) gives me the same feeling as when I smell Midnight Bloom by Victoria`s secret. A luxurious, mysterious, and elegant scent that creates mental scenario of luxury.

love love this perfume. one thing I've realised men loves this perfume on me. it has a lot of depth to it so one won't be able to describe as sweet, floral, fruity or musky. I've bought it three times. it's cheap in price BUT does NOT feel, look and most importantly smell cheap at all. I just love this perfume and i definitely recommend this

Its a safe blind buy perfume ! Cozy ...i got it in a pack with red vanilla, and i love them both! But this 2 are too different. At the first nose it smells like a tea pine with lil honey ... The more i smell it, the more it got me with the fresh white flowers lil musky...after it gets chill u feel the warm sweet tropical citrus ...

The old version was my favorite new one is nice as well but there is something missing with reformulated versions as in all perfumes it's like they took the best notes and replace it with less quality notes, still one of my favorites in zara perfumes it smells like expensive bubblegum to me.

I'm so in love with this zara fragrance. I thought it would be a heavy sweet scent, but surprisingly tiare + musk dominate ZBA. It smells powdery floral with a touch of vanilla. The sillage and longevity quite good. Totally 10/10 for me

I bought this perfume of Zara when it first came out and I never had the opportunity to buy it again , I remember that it was very nice fragrance , it remained that way in my memory. I hope we meet again somewhere...

Soft, rounded in some special way, like a cloud! I get so disapointed in a goooood way! Just love this fragrance from the first second! Just perfect for me, little sweet, floral, fruity, so good balance❤

I don't see the similarity with The One that everybody else is talking about. This perfume smells like bubblegum, but it's heavy and mature. Great for night-time in winter. Amazing quality for the price

There is no Amber in Dark Amber :) But I like it. It smells a little dusty, I don't detect any sweet notes and that's great. Summary: it's worth to try.

First of all, I'm curious about who names Zara fragrances. You'd think that 'Black Amber' might be an amber dominant fragrance or a least have amber listed in the notes, yet it does not. This was a blind buy and upon first spray, felt like a regrettable mess. Sour, alcohol, burned rubber. It wasn't overly strong though, so I left it on and gave it a chance. An hour later and I'm so glad I did. I used to own D&G's The One but it was so long ago that I'd pretty much forgotten how it smelled. I was just immediately transported back once Black Amber got going. That olfactory nostalgia that cannot be faked. I'm sure this isn't an exact dupe and I'm sure that The One doesn't open in quite such a horrible way but Black Amber is one of the closest things to a real dupe for a designer fragrance that I've come across in some time.. Now if only I could find such a close match to D&G's Feminine.

I honestly fell in love with this first spritz. I have a tester set of all the Zara Evening Collection scents but taking in what he actual packaging looks like, it’s a pretty accurate representation to me. At the same time, the scent itself was unexpected? It’s such a dark and intriguing scent to me, personally, I smiled to myself when I first smelled it because it’s just everything I would want to smell like in a bottle. Unfortunately, I don’t 100% love it is because it dries down on my skin in 10 minutes and just disappears (which in most cases would normally turn me off from a scent), and before that it settles into a cheap baby oil kind of scent. Very disappointing.. BUT I love it so much (when not on my skin) that I will buy a small bottle to spray on my clothes and on my bed from time to time.

In a hurry, between two longdistance-trains, I grabbed 4 bottles unsniffed and I didn't have time to check the notes because the only Zara shop in Oslo was closing in 2 minits, so this Black Amber came with me, and I gave 20 comments a green thumb up, but Black Amber smells wonderful in the air and the first spay on my arm, but after 5 minits it's gone with the wind, it smells "nada" - and the drydown is even worse; bugspray and rubber, I'm so very disappointed with this perfume, because I want it to stay good and longer on my skin :(( But, I have had a second opinion; it smells much nicer in wintertime =))

I've purchased a gift set from Zara, containing 2 fragrances: Black Amber and Red Vanilla. I had high hopes for this one as I've read so many opinions comparing it to the one by Dolce and Gabbana. Well,first spritz smelled like bug spray to me. What a disappointment! After some minutes it got warmer and more interesting. It's not a "love" for me and it's not a "The one" twin, but it does smell good and has a feel good vibe about it. Less rich, peachy and creamy that D&G's creation , this little gem from Zara has its own strong personality.

I went into a Zara outlet yesterday and spent a fair bit of time sampling their scents as I don't get there very often. I took a few tester strips home and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised to find that the scents are actually quite nice considering the low price on them. Black Amber is really nice; a soft Amber that doesn't scream 'nighttime only' either. I would wear this any time of the day during the cooler months of the year. To me it is soft, cozy, comforting and caressing. Worthwhile checking out indeed...

I like this perfume quite. This perfume reminds me a little of dolce and gabanna the one but then the dry down smells alot like J'adore by Dior. This perfume smells musky, fruity then sweet. Smells a lot like luxury shampoos in my op[inion. I recommend this to anyone looking for a perfume or mist after bath but it does not last very long and the sillage is very weak. Very fresh but doesn't really have an impact. If you're looking to just freshen up, you can go with this.

To me it smells like a sweet, fruity shampoo. Clean yet warm and feminine. I got a mini in a discovery set and I'll use it but probably wouldn't buy a full size. On a shampoo it would be a really nice, inoffensive scent but I expect more from a perfume and this is just a "like". Doesn't smell straight up cheap or anything but don't expect anything sophisticated. I see myself wearing it on chilly afternoons in casual settings. Sillage and longevity match the price.

Sour exotic fruit and musky vanilla. Good longevity, but not my cup of tea? It ‘s worth to try. Good longevity. Edit I changed my mind. It is sweet and very comforting, not completely vanilla, no completely musky, something between the two sides that makes me simply feel really good and happy. The little sourness combined with the soft tone reminds me of dsquared2 potion for her. Uncomplicated scent for an uncomplicated life. Perfect.

This is supposed to be a dupe for The one by Dolce and Gabbana. Honestly, they do smell similar on paper but on the skin this is much more soar and pungent. The citrus notes are not just in the head but stay forever. The performances are very poor, you must stick your nose to detect it after 30 minutes and no sillage. I started using it as deodorant since too weak. It is ok for the price but I would not buy it again.

Cheapy dupe of D&G the One less refined and a stronger vanilla suited for the younger crowd. It s a simple scent but a compliment getter. Lasts quite good in colder weather. Dark and luscious at the same time. Yummy to go scent. Not sophisticated or elegant. Just simply uncomplicated and fine.

A nice fragrance with a poor projection and longevity . At a first spray it smells exactly like the bubble gum I used to chew when I was a kid. After a couple of minutes it settles down into a frutty sweet fragrance that stays close to the skin and disappeares in half an hour.

Was a blind buy, did not disappoint, at first i thought it leaned more towards the feminine side till i got a comment from a friend “which guy here smells so good?”, gave her a sniff and confirmed that it was me lol, it’s a unisex perfume in my humble opinion.

My favorite Zara fragrance, it used to be my signature 5 years ago! I liked how dark and rich it was compared to its price! But the latest version was trash it lacked the richness I smelled before.

Not sure if I like it a bit or dislike it completely. There is no amber listed but the combo of notes does really smell like amber, not when you smell your wrist, then it is a more tropical smell, but the sillage fragrance that surrounds you (for a really long time 4+h) really reminds me of oldschool or artifical amber - a sweet, sticky, syrupy amber and that I am not a fan of. The inital citrus smell that lasts a couple of minutes and the smell when sniffing the wrist is nice, you can feel the tangerine and passionfruit but it fades quicky and it is hard for my nose to pick it up. It really does remind me of D&G The One (softer) as well as of Chopard Cashmir (stronger) which I both have and realized I don't like too much - same sticky citrus taffy, where the zest does not manage to balance out the sweetness but gives it a weird hue. Crazy long and strong sillage and longlivity, so be carefull with spraying. I sprayed 4 or 5 times as in the beginning it didn't seem to project (after 2 sprays) so I made the mistake of spraying again and ... sheesh it's so strong. The tropical fake amber, probably won't be my friend. Edit: It calms down after 5h then 1-2 sprays is just right :)

I'm thinking that they sent me a different perfume, because when I first smelled it in the store a few weeks ago, it was so rich and beautiful, but now that I've bought it, it's basically the opposite of what the name would suggest. Smells incredibly citrusy on me and it's also very linear. I honestly can't smell any other notes than the citrus. I'm a bit disappointed, as it smelled so nice in the store. Definitely not a night time fragrance. I must say that it's pretty long-lasting though.

I love the packaging and the perfume is really nice.. hard to describe.. it gives an amber vibe even if there is no amber inside.. the passion fruit -tiare -musk combo is really nice sweet and what is more important -uplifting

Wore this in my mid twenties for work in an office only. I enjoyed this scent, and found that it had decent longevity for a Zara fragrance. Does smell like D&G The One. Not much else to say!

Definition of average, wore this a couple times when I was gifted it but not in a long time since. Good musky scent for the price I guess, but Zara has much better.

I really dislike this perfume, it smelt Like an old impulse body spray I used to use as a teenager. This one was given away

I bought this in a rush (note to self: NEVER do this again) because I liked the first few minutes of the scent sprayed on paper. After going home and spraying it on my skin, however, the sharp citrusy top notes morphed into this absolutely vile, noxious, heavy artificial fruit smell. I was in despair!!! However, after around an hour, it faded into a not-unpleasant warm musky vanilla. I struggled for a few months over what to do with this massive 100ml bottle (a huge quantity considering I abhor the middle notes), but then discovered that the fake fruit smell dissipates pretty quickly when sprayed into the air over my duvet, leaving behind the mild vanilla scent. I will be using this as a room spray.

I loved the opening and almost bought this scent today. Good thing I didn't because I sprayed it on my skin and I honestly detest it at the moment. Where it starts so sexy and inviting, after an hour or so it turns to a sickeningly sweet cheap fragrance. What I am saying is try this before you buy it. It may turn better on someone else's skin though. I guess it just doesn't do well with my chemistry.

Every person is different and this smell is not for me. Thanks to this perfume I discovered that I don't like powdery scents. It is not for me. I respect the people that love it but for my nose is a heavy smell, so heavy that just makes me have headaches.

For me, it starts with Happy Spirit Chopard and dries down with J'adore Dior. As I am not fan of both perfumes so I don't really find that I like this perfume

I read that this smelled similar to D&G the one so I tried it the last time I went to the store. To me smell like hair spray. Not my cup of tea.

I bought it together with Red Vanilla. I was deluded by its appearance. I thought it is a deep mysterious fragrance but it is totally the opposite. Cannot stand it even to spray it at home. It smells like 15 years old trashy girl, I'm sorry.

I heard several youtubers rave about Zara fragrances so since they recently opened a store in my area, I wanted to try it out. Zara actually has NUMEROUS fragrances and most are very nice! and So cheap! omg its cheaper than VS and BBW but doesn't smell generic, which is a big plus in my book. I tried several during my trip and one I was drawn to the most was Black Amber. I LOVE tiare flower but in this one, it didn't seem as tropical as I thought it would be-its much sweeter and not as floral, I got almost caramel like feeling. Kind of weird if you ask me but I really like it. I mean you smell vanilla but its not your usual "eh, I smelled it thousand times before kind", I find it LOT more distinctive. Love the black opaque bottle and the name. it really suits my mood and my mostly black clothes style lol I was going to get it but then I realized that it has a set of two for only five dollars more, featuring Black Amber and Red Vanilla. Red Vanilla is more conventional though but Black Amber is very unique. It does have SOME reseblence to DG The ONE but I think Dark Amber is more "fruity"-the passionfruit is very prominent here which is great, I love it! And for $20 dollars(for set of two), that is a great deal all around

I got a sample of this as I saw it was a "dupe" for The One by D&G. Let me just tell you, from the sample I got, this is definitely not a dupe of The One anymore lol. They must have changed the formulation. I found it very sour, fruity, and boring, no oriental vanilla on my skin. In fact, despite the name, it's not a "dark" fragrance at all, really. It's quite bright and a little juvenile. I got a sample of Nuit as well and found that one lovely, vanilla-based, smooth, and with a slight powdery-ness. I then went to the store and tested The One and can confirm that Nuit is meant to be a dupe. ***TLDR: FOR THOSE LOOKING FOR A D&G DUPE, Nuit by Zara is now a dupe for The One :)

On me this is almost identical to DG The one. It's a little bit darker and sweeter than The One, but all in all, it's a great replacement. One of the best fragrances from Zara. Great value for the money, if you consider that this lasts more than 8 hours on skin and on clothes I can still feel it the day after. DG The One is my co-worker's signature scent and when I entered the office today, she smiled saying: "hey, don't steal my "mojo"...when I told her I was not wearing her signature, but a 6 euro Zara fragrance she went: "ok, i'm going to buy the entire store".

I got the edt ver of this along with the red vanilla one. And I’m trying to to think why this scent was so familiar. Then it hit me, it smells like those Trolli banana candy gummies (which doesn’t really smell like bananas tbh) It smells yummy on my skin, lasted around 4-6 hours on my wrist. Not bad for an edt, deffo better performance compared to the Red Vanilla bottle that came with it. It doesn’t project much, you really gotta sniff it closely. So umm... it’s a sexy intimate scent. Would I repurchase? Yup. But I’ll probably get the edp ver of this one.

I always reach for Black amber in the autumn. It is full bodied scent, rich and warm. Apparently, there's no amber in it but it creates warm aura, coming from vanilla- tiare combo. Pasion fruit adds exotic sweetness to the composition and the mandarin orange that stays from the beginning to the very end makes it juicy and bright. All in all, very balanced scent for the cooler months. It grows on me with time and now i appreciate it and use it often when i need something warm and cosy but elegant. Staying power is surprisingly good. A nice one from Zara.

This was my first fragrance! I was almost 13 and asked my mum to buy me the 10ml roll-on, which I kept in my school bag. I felt really grown up. At almost 22, my most recent purchase is Toskovat Age of Innocence. Both fragrances' main accords on here are listed as sweet and fruity. Lol. How time flies.

i agree with the fruity shampoo comments. when i smelled it at the store i think they had a very old bottle because that scent was much more warm and not tropical at all. i think i'll let my bottle age a bit with hopes of it becoming something more interesting.

Smells to me like Aqua di Gio and less like Jadore. Cannot see any resemblance to D e G The One. Cannot smell any amber and do not find it black at all. It smells nice though and has better structure and staying power than other Zara fragrances.

This is fruity and less sweet really like mix it with amber vanilla I can take an spicy garnished and subtle sweet aroma really nice and it lasts eight hours on my skin.

it barely smells like anything. what i do smell is very plastic, sour, and green. the only benefit is that it does make my clothes smell fresh.

Received as a gift from a friend who was in Spain. Lovely. Can smell musk on dry-down. No complaints here. Definitely smells like D&G the One.
