Blanc-à-Porter (Layering Enhancer Fragrance)

Fuzzy cloud of skin like ambrette and clean cashmeran. Your skin but better. I like the concept of this fragrance very much, from its name, to the notes, to the satin veiled packaging, to the the suggested use as base for other fragrance for making them more personal and intimate. It is one of the genre that I appreciate more, think of scent such as You by Glossier, Studied by Liis, Ambrette 9 and Another 13 by Le Labo, Sonic Flower by Room1015, The Ghost in the Shell by ELDO, Pink Ivory by Nomenclature, Missing Person by Phlur or above all Fleur de Peau from Diptyque. Even in low cost category with fragrance such as 3 Rose by L'Erbolario or Zara x Jo Malone The Golden Lullaby. Many people consider this fragrances as too tamed, too personal and simple. I for one am attracted to them, it is just their bare nature and skin like quality that appeals to me, they are those type of fragrances that can really become a signature since they seem to merge with the wearer, becoming a second skin and yielding an imprinting fenomen on whomever smells them on you. As with all of them, even with Blanc-À-Porter, you must like the concept in order to enjoy it or find it worth it of purchase. In this case the price is very affordable so I am sure many will try it, personally I am always on the hunt for these fragrances which many brands describe as enachers, primers, skin like, pure moleculars or adapting to the wearer (for instance Fueguia 1833 offers many of them but the price is somewhat important), so I was very happy to see Zara came up with something similar. It is chic, bare and simple but of great effect. The opening of bergamot is particularly gentle, but very glossy! Then it is all ambrette. In here it is lightly powdery (I don't smell proper iris but something similar yet more rarefied), then it gets musky in a clean way (in the same style of Glossier You and Le Labo Ambrette 19). There is a gentle ambery tone, and even what it appears to be a sprinkle of ambroxan, but the dry down is all cashmeran. It is of the delicate kind, and it smells ultra clean, like your lover skin just out of the shower. The finish I would define as lightly fluffy, fuzzy and cloudy in a way but also creamy.. as if the most luxurious body cream is just being applied on clean skin. It is indeed a your skin but better fragrance, simple but effective. If you are not a fan of cashmeran you may still enjoy this fragrance since it is the most delicate form of cashmeran.

I love this collection – I love the layering concept and at this price point, it’s interesting to try out. This is one of those “I’m not wearing perfume” perfume, it reminds me of like DS&Durga’s I Don’t Know What with that slight bergamot opening but not as strong. It also reminds me of Commodity’s Paper and Molecules. It’s a skin scent, I have tried layering it with Les Heures Passent, from the same collection, with and without this perfume. It definitely makes it last longer and a more pronounced with it. I’m going to try layering with other more fleeting perfume like Byredo Bal D’afrique — I love this scent but it doesn’t last on me. I have wore this alone too, it’s a skin scent, bergamot and ambrette, leave you smelling a bit fresh.

Starts off with a bright, citrusy bergamot, then it begins to transform into a sweet, musky skin scent - brought on by the ambrette. I’ve worn this on it’s own (very intimate) and layered with other fragrances. When layered, I find it extends and accentuates the scent you have on. Recently I lawyered it with JM Wood Sage & was able to get more longevity when layered together! It also brought out the warmth in Wood Sage. The one issue with it is that it has the cheapest atomizer of all time!!

I agree that this is a fragrance in and of itself: it does not need to be layered. I am a huge fan of Molecule 01, and this seems like a perfect blend of Molecule 01, Molecule 02 and some bergamot and Ambrette to add something special. It’s very much a skin scent, but I wore it to work two days this week and got compliments both days. It’s clean and molecular, a little warm and interesting. Best worn on its own.

I love this one. You can actually layer it with a lot of perfumes. It had a marine vibe, fresh, perfect for summer. I loved to layer it with other marine fragrances or with clean fragrances. I'm a bit pissed because Zara discontinued it.

i fell in love with it the first time i tried it but i didn’t buy it because it lasted less than five minutes on me. i’ve regretted it ever since it was discontinued. if anyone knows the closest perfume to this, please let me know🙏🏻

This is a super interesting fragrance!! Smells so similar to Molecule 01. Great on its own and fantastic for layering as well.

My favourite of the new collection. In general I think it is similar to Molecules fragrance but not related to Escentric Molecules (not the same). I haven't tried the Layering method yet, because it's beautiful on it's own with that clean scent. So because of the strong bergamot scent it reminds me a lot of Light Blue Intense from D&G. But the staying power disappears from my skin after 1-2 hour or less. :(

Musk and citrus was the first impression. Surprised the citrus stayed beyond the first hour and remains quite present, though the musk is already fading a little. Definitely a clean and minimal sort of scent.

True unisex. Minimal, clean, elegant but sometimes it did smell a bit sharp on me. Finished my bottle. Sad that it’s discontinued.

It’s more masculine to my nose than feminine, although I understand how it could be unisex. Reminds me of the time I tested D.S. & Durga I Don’t Know What, that same androgynous scent profile, and I would say almost identical, except this is less headache-inducing. On my skin it starts off very citrusy and woody, kinda has a spicy kick, then it mellows out. Not my typical taste in fragrances, and I’m going back and forth between keeping it and selling it. Right now I’m leaning towards selling it. I want to be open-minded and include something different in my collection of mostly florals and gourmands...but, I don’t know, it doesn’t make me feel happy when I spray it on, and it doesn’t feel like me. Overall, it smells warm yet clean, and I could see why it’s being labelled as a layerable scent because it gives whatever fragrance you combine it with an added edge (but it’s not loud or obnoxious). I get these polar opposite visuals: a rich, attractive man in his casual wear, but also a well-put-together woman in a professional setting.

Strong hit of bergamot in the beginning which settles to a clean, slightly creamy but slightly metallic citrus on the skin. Zero lasting power, no joke but this literally disappears in 20 minutes. Also, sillage is also close to zero. It smells like you just washed your hands with soap and have a very light clean soapy smell left on them. I don’t agree that it’s a perfume enhancer since it changes other perfumes too much when layered. Price is excellent and the bottle is beautiful.

It's ok. It's not one of those warm ambery skin musks, like skin warmed by the sun. It's more of a clean t-shirt, cold, metallic citrus musk. I haven't layered it yet so maybe that will redeem it. I bought it in store, and they didn't have the 30 ml bottle, just the large size (no tester) :(, still trying to figure out if I can make it work.

Kudos to Zara for this collection idea. I didn't like it all of the fragrances (neither think it's the purpose for everyone to like it all), but the ideia of labelling the scents as they are for introducers seems a really interesting step on perfumery. I bought this one after testing one time at the store, right away. It's that clean scent of Another 13 and JHAG Not a Perfume concept (and I do think there is a ressemble of them on the drydown, despite not being a dupe): clean aesthetics, unissex scent, good for layering on an affordable Price. I'm trying to review my perfums while wearing them, and since I'm not wearing it today, I'll try again later. Ps: today I'm wearing this guy on it's on, without layering. Again, clean aesthetics, I'm a fan. Good sillage but I'm suspicious because I'm an oversprayer. The bottle is cute, but the sprayer is terrible, annoying to use. Suitable for a cloudy day. Let's see how It goes on longevity.

Do not blind buy this. I was going to but decided to head to the store to test it out. I'm glad I did. At testing, Blanc-à-Porter smelled so faint that I thought I was wearing nothing. Unlike Not a Perfume by JHaG or EM Molecule 01, both of which I own, Blanc-à-Porter wears so thin and transparent on my skin to a point that I smell nothing after 10 minutes. Fresh out of the sprayer, there is an uplifting citrus note(aren't they all), then it dies, just vanishes. Anosmia, a possibility. I tried another five sprays, still could barely detect anything. On paper, Blanc-à-Porter performs a lot better. There is a citrus-woody-musky sweetness that is absent when applied to my skin. If you want a layering enhancer, go for Not a Perfume, Superdose or Molecule 01, all of which can be worn solely for their distince olfactory profile.

It's a very velvety, rounded fragrance. It can surely be blind bought and totally deserves that "your skin but better" classification. It gives the Light Blue Dolce gabbana vibe, but it's creamier and smoother with the ambrette which makes it a warm but also fresh scent at the same time. I think it is a signature worthy fragrance for those who want an office friendly kind of perfume and smell clean at the same time. It can be worn all year round being soft and cosy giving laundry softener vibes in the best way. Haven't tried as an enhancer yet, but beautiful on its own.

This one has got so much hate for not projecting. So I am not going there Yes, the silage is poor. Like not even there until you rub your nose on their skin/clothes. But does it last? 12+ hours on clothes. On skin, around 6 hrs, if sprayed on pulse points. Francesca said it smells like the skin of your lover when they walk out of the shower and I couldn't find a better way to explain this fragrance. Spot on! Clean, cozy, sexy. No sweetness. I will be getting this for my husband. Something tells me I’m going to love sniffing this on his neck.

An essential for me. If I feel like a perfume lacks depth, I add a bit of Blanc-à-Porter to make it more interesting. Trust me, a basic vanilla perfume layered with this is brilliant. I've received compliments on this combo so often. The bergamot mixed with the cashmere wood is gorgeous, and the pepper makes it crisp, like freshly washed bedsheets. I had to get used to the scent, but once I did, I can't imagine not liking it.

Not a good layering Frag. This perfume has a scent of its own and it’s very noticeable. I’ve tried layering and I can actually smell both fragrances. It completely changed the aroma of my perfumes. It doesn’t enhance it. It changes it 🫠.

Why!? Why is Zara selling this!? It smells like ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I returned it for a refund the same day I received it. Biggest disappointment yet for a Zara perfume.
